I cried into momma neck as Darry shot Dale. Dale was gone. Momma walked me back to the campfire and sat me in a chair and sat beside me as I cried. Rick and Shane had brought back dales body and we regrouped. "The lands not safe. We need to go around and fix any broken fences, and reinforce the property." Rick stated plainly as he looked off in the distance blankly. Andrea cried into Shane. Glenn was crying into his hands. "We can't keep taking this place for granted." I spoke up. Everyone looked at me. Rick nodded. Hershel sides with me. "I say tomorrow we start making some changes to the land and do as Rick says."

"It's settled then. Tomorrow." Rick finalized. Daryl helped me up and took me inside the tent. He covered me up and sat at the end of our "bed". I was shivering. He noticed and looked back at me over he shoulder. "Cold?" He mumbled. I nodded. "It's getting to cold at night to keep sleeping out here." I mentioned. He lay down besides me and cuddled me. I immediately stopped shivering. His skin was like a furnace, blazing with warmth. I fell asleep soon after.

We woke up early the next morning. Andrea, and t-dog came up to the tent. "We're starting to go around the property to check the fences. Later we'll have a service for Dale. You coming?" Andrea asked. She looked rough. We both nodded but then Daryl looked beyond Andrea and saw Shane waiting by the truck. "No you're not, Belle. I'll go. You rest, I'll find ya later." He said quickly, kissing my forehead and leaving. Awhile later momma came down. "Honey, lets get you cleaned up. When is the last time you had a bath?" She asked. I giggled and she helped me to the house.

She drew me a hot bath and helped me in the tub. It hurt at first but the hot water felt good on my stitches. Momma poured cups of water over my head and began washing my hair gently. Almost immediately the water turned a brownish red from weeks of dirt and blood. It was silent for awhile but I got the shits of her not talking. I sighed. "Momma, just speak your mind." She looked at me. "Bellefaire. I didn't raise you to be a quitter. I lost your father, and I almost lost you to your own will." She said, shaking her head in disgust. I sighed. "I know momma and I'm sorry. But it happened and now I'm better." She looked at me seriously. "Are you?" She asked in disbelief and walking out the door. After sitting in the hot water for awhile, I began to feel sick to my stomach. I got myself out of the tub as quickly as I could and hurled over the tub as I thought I was gonna puke. But the feeling quickly went away.

Maybe it was the smell of the blood. I dried off and and put on a pair of grey sweatpants and a hoodie. It was time for dales service. Beth came in and helped me down the steps and outside to the gravesite. Daryl stood beside me and Beth Layed her head on my shoulder as Rick spoke. "Dale could get under your skin. He sure got under mine... cuz he wasn't afraid to say exactly what he was thinking. How he felt. That kind of honesty is rare. And brave... whenever I'd make a decision, I'd look at Dale, he'd be looking back at me with that look he had. We've all seen it one time or another. I couldn't always read him but... he could read us. He saw people for who they were. He knew things about us. The truth. Who we really are. In the end, he was talking about losing our humanity. He said this group was broken. The best way to honor him is to unbreak it. Set aside our differences and pull together. Stop feeling sorry for ourselves.." he said, looking at me, and continued. "Take control of our lives. Our safety. Our future. We're not broken. We're gonna prove him wrong. From now on, we're gonna do it his way. That is how we honor dale." He finished. Shane was looking at Rick in disapproval. Carl was crying.

after the service, we all regrouped in front of the house. "You all need to move yourselves inside." Hershel said. "It's getting to cold out there, and to dangerous." We all looked at him, surprised. "It'll be tight? Fourteen people in one house?" Rick stated. "I'm not worried about that. With the creek drying up..." Hershel started but Maggie interrupted. "And with 58 cattle roaming the property, we might as well be ringing a damn dinner bell." Hershel nodded. "She's right. We shoulda moved you in awhile ago." Rick nodded. "Alright, lets move the vehicles in front of each of the doors, set up a look out at each barn and the windmill, that should give us a good look at the property. T-dog, you take the perimeter around the house, keep track of everyone coming and going." He ordered. "What about standing guard?" T-dog asked. "Well, I need you and Daryl on double duty." Rick answered. Daryl nodded. So did tdog. "Gotcha."

Hershel grabbed a crate of food and headed it to the house. "I'll stock the basement full of food and water, enough to survive there a few days if need be." Andrea came up. "What about petrols?" She asked. "Let's get this area locked down first. After that, Shane will assign shifts while me and Daryl take Randall offsight and... cut him loose." Shane looked pissed. "We back to that now?" "It was the right plan first time around. Poor execution." Rick stated. "That's a slight understatement." Shane commented. Rick stepped up to him. "You don't agree, but this is what's happening. Swallow it. Move on."

"You know that dales dead and the prisoner are two separate things, right? Wanna take Daryl as your wingman? Be my guest." Shane said, looking at me. Rick nodded and started walking away. "Thank you." "You got it." Shane said sarcastically. We all started grabbing the groups things and taking them into the house. Daryl moved the motorcycle closer to the house.

Daryl started fixing the barn up, and Shane was fixing the windmill. The rest of us started loading our things into the house. Lori was trying to lift a big heavy box of stuff and I strutted up to her. "Woah woah woah. Lori you're pregnant. Lemme help you." I scolded, taking the other side of the box. Just then, t-dog came sprinting out the house. "Woah girls, don't strain yourselves." He said, grabbing the box from us. "Thank you. Rick and Carl and I are taking that corner in the living room." She told him. Hershel overheard and disapproved. "You can put that in my room. You'll be more comfortable in there." He said. Lori shook her head. "We can't do that."

"Pregnant woman and child sleeping on the floor while I've got a bed to myself..." he started, but Lori protested. "This is still your house." Hershel corrected her. "It's OUR home. I'll take the couch downstairs. On nights when I came home reakin' Of bourbon... my wife would lock the bedroom door. Sad to say, that couch and I became old friends." I left out a chuckle. "It's true! She'd get pissed." I said, reminsing. Lori smiles. Tdog tried to be funny. "If you two can't decide, I'll take it." I laughed. Lori grabbed Hershel's arm and thanked him sincerely. "The couch is MINE!" Hershel reminded Tdog. "It's gonna get real cozy, real fast in here." Tdog mumbled. I laughed hysterically but then caught my stomach where the stitches are as it hurt. I gasped. "Ow!" Lori and Hershel looked at me and came to my aide. Hershel lifted up my shirt and looked at the stitches. "You keep this up and you'll blow the stitches out. You need to rest." He said seriously. I sighed.

Hershel helped me up into the porch and and I hurled over again, feeling sick, this time I leaned over the railing and threw up. Hershel looked at me alarmingly and called for my mother and Maggie. They came out in a hurry m, wide eyes. "My God, what's wrong with her?" Momma asked coming to my side and pulling my hair back. "I'll go get some water." Maggie suggested and went inside quickly. She came back out and handed me the water and dabbed my face with a washcloth. "Probably just nerves. Sit down and rest. I'm going to help the group, you two keep watch on her." Hershel said walking away. I took a swig of water and gurgled, spitting it out. "Yuck." I said, not bearing the taste. Maggie Sat me down the swing. "What's the matter with you?" She asked and she and momma tried getting my curly hair out of my face.

I shrugged. "I'unno. Been feelin like this all day." Momma looked to Maggie. "Honey, you've got blood on your..." She started but Maggie gasped. "Shit! Must have just got my flow." She said embarrassed, getting up. "Let's get you cleaned up." Mom said, taking her inside. Moments passed and then a thought came to my head and my heart sank. When's the last time I had MY flow? I couldn't be... I couldn't be pregnant...? Could I? Daryl and I haven't... oh God. Shane...

I looked up and seen Daryl and Rick talking about the plan for getting Randall off our backs and seen Shane pullin up in the car. Daryl got up. "Imma take a piss." He said, hopping over the railing and walking away. My blood ran cold and my heart raced. I Got up and went inside. I went into my room and shut the door. I layed down and fell asleep for awhile.

Awhile later, I woke up to everyone panicking. I walked outside to the barn and asked what was wrong. "Randy's gone." Tdog told me. My eyes widened. "H-how?" Just then... "RICK! RICK!" We heard Shane screaming. He was coming out of the woods and his nose was all bloody. "What happened!" Lori asked. "He's armed! He's got my gun!" He hollered. "You okay?!" Carl asked worried. "I'm fine, little bastard just snuck up on me, caught me in the face!" Shane said. "Alright, Hershel! Get everyone inside the house, Glenn, Daryl, come with us." Rick ordered. "Just let him go, wasn't that the plan?" Carol asked. "Yeah, not with a damn gun!" Rick hollered. "Don't go out there, you don't know what can happen!" Carol protested. "Get everyone inside the house! Lock the doors and stay put!" Rick yelled back.

I panicked. "D-Daryl!" Darry came up to me. "Go inside Bellefaire. Now!" He said, but I shook my head. Tdog came to me and grabbed me. "Cmon Bella, lets go, it'll be aight." He said dragging me inside the house.

Hours went by and it was starting to get dark. I paced back and forth in my room but then I the feeling of hurling came over me again. I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the sink. I washed in down and threw some water over my face. I stared in the mirror at myself. Alright. I have to know. I snuck into Hershel's room and searched through Lori's things. After a lot of rummaging, I finally found what I was looking for. A pregnancy test. I ran back into the bathroom and took the test. I sat it down and I took a deep breath before looking at it. Finally I had enough courage to look st it. It was positive. My eyes widened and my mouth dropped. I hit my knees and I breathed fast and hard. I was having Shane's baby.

Finally it was dark out. I got myself up. I have to find Shane. Maybe if he knows I'm pregnant, he'll stop his bullshit and become a member to us again. I snuck out of the house and went off into the woods alone. I was scared walking alone in these woods. But I had my gun. I tracked two sets of tracks. I walked fast after the tracks. While walking i kept thinking. I just need to turn back. Randall could be out here, there could be walkers. My heart was pounding. Shane is to far gone. He won't care. God, what will Daryl think. Finally I walked out into the field and found rick and Shane. Shane had his gun up and was pointing it at Rick. I gasped and Shane turned around and saw me. "What are you doing out here!" Shane hollered, putting his gun on me. I put my hands up. "Shane..." I said softly. He had a look of murder in his eyes.

"Walk your ass over and stand beside Rick." He forced. "Shane, please..." I tried. "Move! NOW!" He screamed. I shook. I walked slowly over to Rick. Shane put his gun back on Rick. "Why. Why now? I thought we worked this all out." Rick pleaded. Shane laughed. "We tried to kill eachother man! What'd you think we were gonna do, we were gonna forget about it all, just ride into the sunset together?" I realized what this was and I widened my eyes and looked to Rick. "Just gonna kill me in cold blood? SCREW my wife? Have MY children, MY children! Call you dad? Is that what you want? That life won't be worth a damn. I know you. You won't be able to live with this." Rick stated.

Shane put his gun down. "Whatchu knkw What I can live with? You have no idea what I can live with, what I live with! Wanna talk about what I can do? How about what you can Rick, here I am." Shane said, putting his gun in his belt. I breathed hard and unsteady. "Cmon man raise your gun..." Shane said. Rick shook his head. "No...no I will not." ... "what happend Rick?! I thought you weren't the good guy anymore, ain't that what you said?! Ain't you gonna fight for it?! I'm a better father than You Rick! I'm better for Lori than you man! It's cuz I'm a better man than you Rick, cuz I'll be there and I'll fight for her. But'chu just DESTROY EVERYTHING! You got a broken woman. You got a weak boy. You ain't got the first clue on how to fix it. RAISE YOUR GUN." Shane said, putting his gun back on Rick.

I gasped. "Shane, no!" I protested but he screamed "SHUT UP!" Rick looked to Shane. "You're gonna have to kill an unarmed man. Watch my hand. Nice and easy."'Rick said calmly. Grabbing his gun. "Easy does it." He whispered. He put his gun upside down and walked it closer and closer to Shane. My heart pounded. "Now listen to me Shane. There's still a way back from this. Nothing has happened here. Now we're gonna lay down our guns. We're gonna walk back to the farm. Together. Back to Lori. Back to Carl." He said, tearing up. Shane eased up some, tears forming. "Put this all behind us." Shane grabbed the gun from Rick and Rick pulled his knife out from his back and stabbed Shane. I put my hands over my mouth and shrieked, tears leaving me. Shane shot into the distance as a reaction.

Rick layed him down onto the ground, as blood poured from Shane's mouth. "Damn you for making me do this, Shane. THIS IS YOU! NOT ME! THIS IS YOU, NOT ME, NOT ME!" Rick screamed, ripping the knife out. Finally Shane's left breath left him and Rick screamed. I just stood there, in shock. But then an unexpected voice. "Dad?!" Carl... I turned around and looked at Carl not knowing what to say. Rick stood up and started walking to him. "Carl...no... you should be back home with mom..." Carl breathed heavy and tears rolled down his cheeks heavily. He drew his gun and pointed it to what it seemed like rick. My eyes widened. "Carl! Honey... please, no..." I cried. Rick stopped. "Just, just put the gun down... it's not what it seems, please..." Rick cried. But then, POW. Carl shot. But it wasn't Rick. Shane had turned. But how...? Had he gotten bit?
