Doctor Cas is In

For a month Dean had been forced to keep it easy and rest. 'Dean, you'll rip out your stitches!' 'If, you kill yourself for overdoing it, Dean, I'll kill you.' Even when Sam took out the stitches in the older hunter's back he was forced to stay still. Today was supposed to be the day he could go free from his bedroom, but of course he wasn't so lucky. Instead of getting his chance to go back to his old routine and not have anybody worrying that he'd collapse the hunter was forced once again to stay in bed, but this time for entirely different reasons.

Dean buried his face into his pillow, nose stuffed up and throat feeling like sandpaper. Not to mention the summersaults his stomach was doing. He had no idea where he got the illness from. Personally he believes he got it from that new day care Sam had forced the angels to last week. Apparently he figured they needed to get out of the house with people their own age instead of hanging out with a recovering Dean. Who knows what those snotty kids had over there that the angels could have brought home. Dean shivered, pulling his blankets closer to himself, not even noticing the black little ball of fluff sneaking into his room.

"BOO!" the littlest angel cried, jumping on top of the bed and landing on Dean's chest. The hunter winced, grunting in pain as he got knocked about. Looking to his chest he found Cas, tucked up in his trench coat staring at the hunter in confusion. "What the matter, Dwean?" Dean pushed down what annoyance was bubbling up inside him and draped an arm over his forehead as he lifted the other to stroke the curly strands of dark hair from Cas' forehead.

"Just got a cold, Cas. Why don't you go and play with your brothers," Dean suggested, wanting the little angel out of his hair pronto so he could get some well needed sleep. A troubled look popped onto Castiel's face and the angel made a mad dash for the door, slamming it shut behind himself. Dean stared at the door with one brow raised and a look of shock written across his face. "Uh…that was easy," he stammered, laying his head back down to the pillows of his bed and closing his heavy eyes. After a few seconds, Dean's eyes began to droop. He pulled his blanket to his chin and closed his eyes, snapping them back open when the bedroom door slammed hard against the wall when it was shoved open.

"The Doc is in!" Cas shouted, flapping back onto Dean's chest. The hunter looked the angel up and down, noting the stethoscope and medical bag. Where he got that the hunter had no idea. "It's time for your checkup!"

"You need to lay off the Doc McStuffins," Dean chuckled as the little angel grinned widely on his chest. Cas had instantly fell in love with the show for some weird reason a few days ago. It had only been a matter of time until he would finally start playing doctor and now here he was. "Sorry to tell you this, Cas, but I'm not a stuffed animal." Cas frowned, shaking his head and letting his curly strands of hair to fall back into his face. Seriously, that kid really needed a haircut. Puffing out a big breath to blow the hair out of his face, Cas looked Dean firmly in the eye and pointed at the hunter.

"Mud monkey." Dean swatted away Cas' accusing finger and replaced it with his own.

"I'm not a monkey," the hunter argued back, but Cas ignored him, putting on his stethoscope and pressing it to Dean's heart. The Winchester rolled his eyes, but laid back down against the pillows and allowed Cas to have his moment. Cas' brows crossed in a frown as he listened to Dean's heart with the plastic stethoscope. After a second or two Cas removed the devise and pulled out a bottle of cold medicine he must have grabbed from the bathroom on the way back. When Cas couldn't get past the kid proof cap Dean sat up a little and offered his assistance. Castiel watched as Dean slowly poured the purple medicine into the cap and swallowed it down. The angel watched Dean carefully, expecting the hunter to be fixed instantly, but that didn't happen. A cough rattled Dean's chest and the hunter wheezed out a breath as he gasped for air through his stuffed nose and sore throat. Castiel's face fell and the Winchester froze as the angel lifted two fingers to his brow. The hunter waited, watching Cas carefully. Hope was present in the angel's eyes only for a second before he dropped his hands from Dean's face. The hunter opened his mouth to comfort the distraught angel, but there was no need. Castiel once again reached into his little bag and pulled out a lemon flavored cough drop for his sick patient. Smiling thankfully, Dean opened his mouth and let Cas set the drop onto the hunter's tongue. Cas reached into his doctor bag again and pulled out a little check board and pencil. He scanned down the list on the paper, pencil checking off several things before he finally looked back up at Dean with a serious face. Well, it would look serious if Cas wasn't so adorable.

"You needs lots and lots of sleep!" Cas told him firmly, pushing on Dean until the hunter's head hit the pillows. Dean let out a soft hum as he closed his eyes and felt Castiel, slowly begin to wiggle from the bed. Cas yelped in surprise as Dean snaked an arm around the angel and pulled Cas back onto his chest. Dean opened one eye to look at Cas and smiled softly at the angel. Cas smiled back at Dean and cuddled against the sickly hunter until Sam practically made the door burst off its hinges.

"Cas?! Cas, we've been looking everywhere –"

"Get stuffed!" Cas shouted. Dean rolled his eyes at the angel.

"Damn it, Cas, I am not a stuffed animal!"

I don't know if any of you have seen or heard of Doc McStuffin, but after listening to my little cousins get so excited about it I figured Cas would enjoy it too. Thank you happyXbunnyX626 for the request!

Sadly it's back to school for me now, but hopefully I will be able to update on the weekends as usual. I don't think there will be much of a problem unless that damn place finally succeeds in killing me :P
