European Madness
Dean's been to Europe before. He had to in order to find Crowley's bones, but that mission kind of blew up in their faces in the end. This time their mission wasn't to hunt down the king of hell's bones though. This time their mission was fun. After Kevin won a radio contest a few nights ago the group won tickets to an all paid trip to travel Europe.
Charlie and Kevin were dressed in striped shirts and berets. Nerds. The others had all dressed normally. Well, Balthazar wore a beret with his normal clothes. He said it was a total chick magnet or something. Dean wasn't too sure about that, but a bunch of pretty ladies did constantly comment on how cute he was. He also made it his business to try to get his hands on every wine bottle in reach. Luckily a Winchester was always nearby to smack his hands away.
"Well, what's the plan? Eat chocolates? Get some babes? Those French accents are pretty hot. I bet their tongues are even more skilled in–"
"Dean, there are kids around," Sam growled, slapping on bitch face #200 while nodding at the angels currently talking to a woman by an old fountain. She was painting the Eiffel tower as the stars hung around it in the sky. Dean rolled his eyes and glared at his little brother.
"What do you suggest we do, Sammy?" Dean questioned. Sam instantly grinned and Dean suddenly felt like he shouldn't have asked.
"There are these really cool museums just a few bust stops away and –"
"Hold up, Captain Killjoy. I am not spending my vacation in a dusty old building filled with stuff older than fucking God himself," Dean stated. "Let's do something fun!"
"Like what?" Same questioned. Dean opened his mouth to answer, but three little voices beat him to it.
"The Eiffel Tower!" The angels screamed. "Please! Please! Pleaaase!" the angels cried as they ran towards them from lady that had been painting. She watched them go for a bit before returning to her painting. "Can we go? Please?!" Bobby walked over, munching on a croissant.
"I'm up for that," Bobby stated, looking upwards at the large tower.
"Let's make it a race!" Gabriel shouted.
"I'm not up for that," Bobby reconsidered, taking another bite of his croissant before turning right back around and making his way to Kevin and Charlie watching a mime. Dean pinched the bridge of his nose and turned to address the angels that there was no way he was running up several stairs, but all three were gone. Dean's eyes widened and he looked up to see the three running towards the tower. He let out a low moan and broke into a run, Sam right next to him. When they got to the tower they were heavily breathing and out of breath, but they couldn't rest. Especially not when the angels were flying to the top of the tower. Thank god no one had noticed yet.
"Let's take the elevator and meet them at the top," Dean decided, running over to an elevator. A man was standing there in a uniform, strapping an out of order sign over the doors. "Out of order?!" Dean shouted. "Now what?!" The man putting up the sign pointed at the stares and Dean felt like his legs were going to melt away just looking at them. Sam rushed ahead and up a few stairs.
"Well, I guess this is one way to get you to jog," Sam said with a smirk. Dean flashed his brother the finger before breaking out into a jog up the stairs, cursing each step as he went. When they finally made it to the top the angels were waiting for them, twirling around in circles and doing summersaults in the air. Dean and Sam quickly grabbed the angels and hid their wings under heavy coats, glancing around to make sure no one would see. Luckily, the people in the tower were too engrossed with the view to even notice the winged children flying around the tower. Dean and Sam both scowled at the angels in their arms.
"What were you thinking?! What if someone saw you?" Dean scolded. He couldn't have been too frightening though since his cheeks were a bright red and his lungs were gasping for air. The angels only grinned and wiggled out of the hunters' arms, rushing over to look out across Paris. Sam and Dean both deflated, deciding that there was no way they were going to get a good scolding in tonight. Instead they walked over to their angels and looked over the beautiful land. Lights shimmered in the distance and people hurried down the streets. They caught a glimpse of Bobby, Kevin, and Charlie bellow them, waving frantically. They all waved back, faces split in two from their wide smiles. After a while Sam finally let out a sigh and glanced at his watch, eyes widening.
"Hey, its getting late. We better go back down –"
"Damn it!" Dean cried, reaching, but failing to grab the angels before they dived off the side of the tower. Dean and Sam yelped, calling out to the angels.
"Race ya!" the three cried before rocketing downward.
"Not this again," Dean wined as he reluctantly followed Sammy back down the never ending flight of stairs. They ran off so fast that they didn't notice a worker pull off the out of order sign from the elevator.
Dean dropped his bag on the floor and shown a flashlight around the room.
"I can't believe you three talked us into sleeping in a deserted castle," he grumbled. The angels smiled as they ran around the room of the run down castle. The angels had spent the entire day begging to get the chance to stay in a castle. Sam had tried to explain to the angels that the castle wasn't like the ones on TV. They weren't warm or anything. Especially a castle that hasn't been lived in for centuries. Still, the angels were stubborn and refused to leave the car until they got what they wanted.
"As long as it's not haunted I'm happy," Bobby commented, tossing his sleeping bag onto the cold stone floor. Kevin and Charlie peaked out the single window of the room.
"Think there are ghosts?" Kevin questioned, looking around nervously at the dark, stone walls. Bobby rose a brow at the prophet and snorted.
"It's a Scottish castle that's been crumbling for centuries. I'd be worried if there weren't any." Kevin's face flashed with fear. Sam cleared his throat and shot the old hunter a glare before looking towards the angels.
"You three sure you want to sleep here?" The angels each nodded while Kevin shook his head. "It's settled then," Sam sighed. Kevin's face lit up with hope. Sam dropped his stuff, causing Kevin's face to fall. They were staying. Dean plopped down onto his sleeping bag by the Sam's and pulled a few guns from his pockets.
"How you guys smuggle that stuff onto planes will always be a mystery to me," Charlie stated as she watched the hunter clean the numerous guns.
"It's an art," Dean muttered, taking apart a pistol. "Got to be prepared for any ghosts."
"Indeed." Thunder clapped outside and Gabe screeched, jumping into Dean's arms and burying his face into the hunter's shirt, knocking the gun to the floor. The group stared wide eyed as a figure appeared by the window. She had long brown hair and hazel eyes. Her gown was in tatters and her head was hanging half off her neck. Sam reached to grab one of the guns by Dean, but the ghost held out her hand and blew the guns away from him. "No need for that," the ghost whispered. "I mean no harm." Her hazel eyes turned towards Gabriel and she walked towards the angel and the hunter holding him. She knelt down in front of Dean and held out a hand towards Gabe. Dean pulled the angel away from her and she froze, eyes meeting his. "It's okay," she whispered. Gabe peaked out and stared at the ghost. She turned her gaze from Dean and turned a wide smile towards the angel in Dean's arms. Gabriel tensed slightly, but didn't hide his face in Dean's chest again.
"His last experience with a ghost didn't go too hot," Dean stated. The ghost smiled reassuringly at Gabe.
"I assure you. There is nothing to fear," she stated. "My name is Aura. I was a kitchen hand here," she stated. Gabriel calmed slightly and pulled away from Dean a little.
"G…Gabriel," the archangel introduced himself, returning Aura's smile.
"Why are you still here?" Sam questioned. Aura turned towards the hunter.
"I was murdered in this castle when attacked by invaders. My body is gone. I…don't know where it is and I doubt I ever will." Sad expressions crossed the faces of everyone in the room. Aura sighed softly and shook her head, her image shifting between a beautiful young lady with color in her cheeks to the image of a corpse of rotting flesh. "Don't worry about it. This is my home and I would never think of leaving it. I only ask for some company now and then." Bobby huffed, snuggling back into his sleeping bag.
"Well, you've got it," he muttered.
"And I am thankful," the ghost stated, turning her gaze to the others in the room, watching them like she was trying to remember how it felt to be alive through their movements. Her eyes went from Charlie, Balthazar, to Sam, to Bobby, and then to Cas. Her eyes widened when she spotted him. He had pulled his coat from his shoulders and his wings puffed out as he stretched his tired limbs. "An angel?" she murmured, awe in her voice.
"Angels," Gabriel corrected, clicking his fingers together and breaking the spell on his wings to keep them hidden. Balthazar followed quickly after and the two showed of their silver and gold feathers. Aura let out an amazed laugh.
"I always wanted to see an angel when I was a girl," she sighed. "Guess dreams come true sooner or later." She laughed again and reached out, brushing her fingers against Balthazar's silver feathers. Her fingers met the soft feathers and Balthazar stretched his wing into her hand.
"You can feel that?" Charlie asked. Aura nodded.
"They are angels. Wouldn't it be silly if they couldn't touch a human's spirit?" Charlie shrugged and Aura went back to stroking the feathers on Balthazar's wings. The angel let out a yawn and Cas and Gabe followed suit, almost like a chain reaction. Aura chuckled lightly and pulled her hand back. "Thank you for speaking with me, but I believe it is well past your bed times," she stated. The angels nodded and gathered between Sam and Dean on a stretched out sleeping bag. Sam covered the three with a baby blue blanket and Dean draped Cas' trench coat over them for extra warmth.
"Night, Aura," the angels and the others whispered as they snuggled into their sleeping bags. Aura smiled and her figure slowly blew into smoke.
"Goodnight."
Dean hated the plane on the way here and he knew he was going to hate it on the way back. The entire flight to Europe the angels had been menaces. They constantly pressed the button to call the stewardess. Balthazar kept trying to get his hands on the tiny bottles of alcohol. Gabe somehow got ahold of the pilot's speaker and told several plane crash related jokes for all the passengers to hear. Cas in the meantime kept getting out of his seat to wander or asked everybody freakishly long and complicated questions about plane and how they can fly. It had been a long flight and now they all had to go through it again. There was one plus though. The angels were sleeping.
Dean lay stretched out on the floor of the airport, backpack under his head for a pillow. Gabriel, Cas, and Balthazar were cuddled up on top of him. Each were silently snoozing, catching up on their sleep. Their adventure in Europe was long over now. It was time to head back home. It had been a pretty awesome vacation. They stayed in a castle with a ghost, raced to the top of the Eiffel Tower and who knows what was waiting for them on that goddamn plane. Dean shivered. He'd rather swim across the ocean than go on some shaky flying bird again with those three.
"Brought you a coffee," Sam whispered as he walked in with two coffees in hand. Dean smiled thankfully and took the steaming cup from his brother, careful not to wake the angels snuggled against him. The longer they were out the better. Sam took a tentative sip of his hot coffee and nodded at the sleeping angels. "They finally pass out?" Dean nodded.
"Yep, now as long as they sleep the entire trip home it'll be smooth sailing," Dean huffed, knowing full well that they would be up and about soon enough and causing all kinds of trouble for the pilots and stewardesses.
"We should do this again," Sam said with a smile. "Relax like this." Dean laughed.
"Yeah, Sammy. That's totally what happened the past couple of days." Sam chuckled and the both of them sipped at their coffee until static crackled on the speaker. Dean flinched at the loud screech, jostling the angels. Dean froze instantly, eyes widening as the angels slowly rubbed the sleep from their eyes. A voice finally became understandable through the speaker and they listened as the voice told them that they could board their plane. The angels eyes widened instantly and they jumped up and down excitedly, screeching and disturbing several people around them. Dean let out a moan and lifted the angels as he got to his feet. The two brothers quickly made their way to the line Charlie, Kevin, and Bobby were already waiting in. Dean forced his large hands over the angels' mouths in attempt to shut them up. His right covering Cas and Balthazar's mouths while his left covered Gabriel's. Bobby glanced at the fully awake angels in Dean's arms.
"Boy, you better enjoy the peace while you can. That's not going to last forever."
"That is the very reason I'm buying all the alcohol I can on that damn plane," Dean stated as he walked through the doorway. If he was going to survive the flight he was going to make sure not even angel could wake him from his drunken sleep.
I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge on Europe The closest I've ever gotten to it is by computer and TV screen. This is Supernatural though so anything can happen. Thank you SweetAngelXxX for the request.
