A/N: Hi everyone! I'm really sorry! School kicked me butt this year and it took a great deal of my focus. My summer has mainly been band, which makes for long days. I had a recent accident that has allowed me time to right so I thought I should update for al of you!

Disclaimer: I don't any of the characters in this story!

Chapter 7:

"Jem was on his way to meet Clary for the first time. Tessa would tell him what they had talked about in their sessions, but he truly wanted to meet this girl in all her glory…"

Clary was in the library painting when a young man with black hair walked in. Clary knew that this had to be Jem, Tessa's friend who was coming over to help her get better.

"Clarissa?" the man spoke.

"I go by Clary, but yes I am she."

"I have heard so much about you from my dear Tessa. I am James, but everyone calls me Jem. Would you mind dear if you told me what you have been through this past year?"

Clary told Jem everything that had happened to her when she was with her father for that year. She told him everything that she had heard and everything that she had seen. Though she didn't quite understand why it was important to know what other company her father had kept during her stay, she told Jem everything she knew. Hoping there was maybe some reason as to why she was rehashing the entire story again to someone different.

As Jem left the Institutes library, he found himself awestruck with the tiny girl he was leaving. For she had been through so much yet she could still keep her head up and look on the bright side of the situation. The story she had told him, rattled old memories of events in his past, but hers was a rather more modern retelling so to speak. Jem had an idea of what drug might be inside her from his time with her but he could still be wrong in his assumptions.

Tessa had decided to ask the young Herondale heir to come and talk with her over tea the next day. She sat with Jace at a small table for two drinking tea the way she had learned to so long ago, while the young man drank coffee.

"I wish to tell you of some of my past." She chose to start off.

"If you wish, I don't want to make you tell me anything you don't want to."

"My name is Tessa Gray Herondale. I was married to your ancestor William Herondale."

"What?"

Jace had gone to tea with Tessa that day out of courtesy for her help with his girlfriend. What he had not expected was to learn that she was his many greats grandmother. And that she had thought that their family line had died when his father was killed. Tessa had told him that since she was a warlock, she chose to keep her distant from her family to save herself the pain of watching more of her loved ones die. At the end of their tea she asked him to keep the Herondale name and if they could continue to do tea after the situation was done and over. So that she may once again know her family.

Jon hung out a lot with his Clare. He knew that her and Jace were having problems and that her and Izzy and Simon weren't as close as they used to be. He enjoyed the time he spent with her. They talked about anything and everything minus the year she was gone, for it still caused much pain for both parties. Currently they were in her room chatting about her time with Jem.

"He was really nice, and he seemed to truly understand all my descriptions of the pain."

"I happy you found someone to talk to about the past year Clare."

"Me too, Jon. He doesn't expect things from me that I can't give and it makes the situation much easier."

"That's really good. How are things with you and Jace going, Clare? You don't talk about him much."

"He's not understanding Jon. I don't know what to do!"

Jon knew this was the truth. He knew that at this point that special gift Jace had planned to give her for her 18th birthday may now never be given to her. The boy continued to fuck up when it came to Clare, and Jon didn't want Clare to be let down by her idiotic boyfriend, anymore.

"You are to go and bring her back."

"But Sir she is heavily protected."

"You will do as I say or there shall be consequences! She will die at there hands at this rate and I shall not let that happen!"

"But Sir wasn't that the plan all along?"

"Not anymore."

I did it again! My bad, its so hard not to end with cliffies! Don't know when I'll update again, fair warning. I might this weekend though, but don't quote me on that!

Lots of love,
