Meet the Fam

Charlie strolled up the walkway, hand in hand with her new girlfriend. She had figured it was about time Lila met the fam. Still, she was a bit nervous. What if the angel's wings were visible when they walked through the door? What if demons suddenly show up? Soft hands squeezed Charlie's and the redhead looked up into her girlfriend's eyes. Her eyes were so brown they were almost as black as her braided curls.

"It'll be fine, Charlie," she whispered, leaning in and giving the redhead a gentle kiss to the cheek. Charlie blushed a little, but her confidence was restored. She pulled Lila towards the door and sucked in a breath before walking inside.

"Guy's I'm home!" Charlie shouted as she and Lila entered.

"Living room!" several voices called from down the hall. Charlie smirked and pulled Lilah towards the living room, holding her breath as she awaited for the disaster to begin. Charlie was instantly relieved. All wings were hidden from sight and nobody had decided to bring out the entire armory this time. Charlie shivered. That had been a disaster.

Veggie Tales was playing on the TV and the angels were all lying on top of Custos, singing along with the numerous songs. Charlie was surprised the angels liked the show so much. They usually complain about human versions of religion. Maybe it was because the characters were food? Charlie shrugged it off and cleared her throat, getting everyone's attention.

"Guys, this is my girlfriend Lila," she introduced. Lila waved at the group of men and they all greeted her with smiles.

"Wanna watch with us?" Cas asked from his spot on Custos' belly. Lila smiled at the little angel and sat down next to Custos, almost sitting on his long tail.

"Of course," Lila answered. Cas grinned at her and then turned back to the TV, singing about a manatee or something weird. Charlie took a seat between Dean and Sam on the couch, nudging the two hunters.

"Remember, nothing….unnatural," Charlie whispered. The boys both crossed their hearts.

"Scout's honor, little sis," Dean said with a wink, Charlie punched him in the shoulder and the hunters both joined together with a loud laugh. Lila turned slightly and smiled at Charlie, Sam, and Dean.

"So Charlie told me you guys are her adopted brothers?" Lila questioned. Dean ruffled Charlie's red hair, clearly enjoying the look of annoyance that found its way onto Charlie's face.

"Yep," he answered. He pointed towards a snoring Bobby. "And he's me and Sam's surrogate father," Dean added. Lila nodded and looked at the baby angels sitting on a sleeping Custos. Charlie was suddenly grateful that the hellhound puppy was invisible. Lila freaking out and asking what kind of breed he was wasn't something Charlie wanted to go through. Hopefully it just looked like the angels were sitting on a bunch of pillows.

"What about these cuties?" Lila questioned. Sam shrugged and glanced at Dean in the corner of his eye.

"Kind of complicated. We adopted them a while back," Sam stated.

"Yeah," Dean sighed, smiling at the angels. "What's it been? Balthy four years and over six years since we met Cas? Over nine for Gabriel?" Dean hummed. Charlie jabbed him in the ribs, causing the hunter to squawk. Lila frowned and pointed at the three little angels.

"But I thought Charlie said they'd just turned five, six, and seven?" she said with confusion.

"That's what makes it complicated," Kevin chimed in before popping a handful of popcorn into his mouth. The confusion didn't leave Lila's face and Charlie clapped her hands together.

"I'm starving!" she shouted, hoping to change the subject. "Want to help me make something, Lila?" Charlie questioned. Lila nodded and followed Charlie into the kitchen.

"Your family is…"

"Weird? Crazy? Loony –" Lila shut her up with a kiss.

"Sweet," Lila answered. Charlie frowned. Sweet? Were they still talking about the Winchester men? Lila laughed at Charlie's exasperated expression. "None of you are really related by blood and yet…you're one big happy family. I think that's sweet," Lila explained. Charlie smiled a little and glanced towards the doorway, noticing three little heads poking through the crack in the door. She tapped Lila and pointed at the three little angels watching them. Lila laughed and Charlie pulled her in for a kiss. The angels all made playful gagging noises and the two girls chuckled.

"What you boys want for supper?" Charlie asked, pulling away from Lila and opening the cabinet doors up wide in search for food.

"Wuffles! Cas shouted. Charlie rolled her eyes and picked Cas up, setting him on the counter.

"Is that all you eat?" she questioned. Cas nodded, and Lila pulled a pan from a cupboard.

"Wuffles it is then!" Lila shouted. Cas cheered and Charlie pulled some blueberries from the fridge.

"Fine, you two can deal with Sam's healthy supper rant then," Charlie stated, setting the blueberries down on the table and waving Balthazar's grabby hands away from the plump berries. Lila chuckled, laughing along with the angels and Charlie felt her heart squeeze with happiness. She couldn't ask for a better date.

I will be posting a chapter every day until Christmas to celebrate the holidays. Thanks AlonzoLovesPie for the request and thank you to The Bellowing Archangwhales for offering to draw my angels!
