Deadly Sins

The angels awoke slowly, their bodies shaky and weak. Gabriel was the first to gain most of his senses and to notice he was covered in blood. The archangel shot upwards, eyes wide as he stared at is bloody arms. Binding sigils were carved into his and his brothers' wrists. Gabe gritted his teeth together. The sigils kept them weak and blocked them from their grace. Luckily the bleeding had finally stopped. That was the good news. The bad was that they had no idea where they were.

Gabriel crawled close to his brothers as they tried to wake fully. He took in their surroundings as he waited for them. They were in an old, rusty cage. Next to their cage were hundreds more holding a handful of baby angels. There were even a handful in their own cage. The angels were all dirty and shivering together. There feathers were frayed from not being cleaned or taken care of and their bodies were cut up and bruised. How had so many been taken?

"Gabby? Gabby, where are we?" Cas questioned as he looked around their cell, finally climbing out of his tired fog. Gabe shook his head. He couldn't sense anything with the stupid mark carved into his wrists. For all he knew they we in another country. Hell, maybe they were?

"Gwabby?" a voice whispered a few cages away. The angels looked into the cage, eyes falling on an angel with matted hair and wings that were a perfectly pure white that would have glowed if they hadn't been dirty.

"Michael?" Gabe called. The baby angel nodded, looking somewhat relieved to see his brothers.

"Mickey, where are we?" Gabe questioned. "Who's doing this?" The baby angel shook his head.

"Don knows," the angel slurred. "Scwared, Gwabby. I'm scwared." The angel started tearing up then and Gabe thrust a hand out between two bars.

"Don't cry, Mickey! It's going to be alright," Gabe reassured. It felt weird to reassure his big brother. Usually Michael kept his emotions hidden, but, now that wasn't so.

Michael quieted after some coaxing, but at the sound of a squeaking door he quickly started whimpering again. Seven people walked through an iron door. Their eyes were as black as their souls and each of them were grinning to themselves. They all surrounded the cage holding Balthazar, Gabriel, and Castiel, smirking down at the caged angels.

"Who are you?" Gabriel questioned as all the other angels in the cages around them backed up, cornering themselves. The seven demons grinned.

"We are the seven deadly sins," Pride, a beautiful blond woman chuckled. "And we're your new nannies." The angels hesitated, confused on what the woman meant. The demons turned away then and walked into the center of the room. There was a chair there with a table pulled up next to it. Knives, whips, and other torture devices were all set out in waiting. One of the sins clicked his fingers and a new demon in an elderly woman's body walked in, dragging a young man with her. She tossed him into the chair and tied him up before dismissing herself from the room. The man struggled against his restraints, pleading for his life while the sins laughed at him.

"So what?" Balthazar shouted past the bars of their cage. "You're going to torture an innocent man in front of us?" Gluttony laughed at that and picked up a knife from the table.

"Not at all," he opened a cage up and grabbed an angel from inside. She screeched and tried to pull away, but Gluttony shook her a bit until she softened her cries. When she had calmed down a bit he held her in one arm while handing her the knife. The little angel glanced at it for a moment and then let the knife cut slowly at the frightened man's cheek.

"THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Gabriel shouted, grabbing at the bars of the cage. Sloth yawned and looked lazily to the angel.

"Training," he said slowly in mid-yawn. "That's the plan." The three frowned in confusion and Lust took the stage.

"If you don't torture the souls we bring you…" she shrugged, grinning cruelly. "You get hurt instead. It's as simple as that, kiddos."

"But why?" Balthazar questioned, eyes still watching as their sister began to drag the blade in her hand over the man's chest. He was screaming now and the angel no longer looked pained to hurt the human. She looked like any other angel in heaven. Her face was placid and her eyes were dark. The part of her that even thought of caring for the poor man was gone. She only thought of protecting herself now.

"Meg," Cas whispered suddenly.

"What?" Balthazar questioned, eyes flicking around the room in search of the demon, but she was nowhere to be found.

"No, not here," Cas corrected. "Back home she mentioned Crowley's plan." The light bulbs flickered on above Gabe and Balthazar's heads. So this was what Crowley had been doing with the kidnapped angels.

"Enough," Wrath hissed suddenly. "We have work to do. Envy, give the angel a different blade. I don't like this one as much." Envy did as he was told and grabbed for a scalpel.

"Well," Lust sighed, looking away as the others went back to torturing. "While you guys have fun torturing children I'm going to have a little fun," she snickered, opening up the cage holding Cas, Gabriel, and Balthazar. She reached inside and grabbed hold of Balthazar, pulling him out before his brothers could even try to help him. She closed the cage again and grinned at Balthazar before snapping her fingers. The old lady from before returned with a little chest and set it down on the floor before once again exiting the room. Lust's grin grew wider and she opened up the chest to reveal several pink dresses with lace and shiny shoes. Balthazar scowled.

"The hell…"

"Let's make you the most fabulous angel ever!" Lust squealed like a teenage girl. Balthazar's stomach turned and Lust got to work. She forced him into the laciest dress she could find with a little bonnet and then smeared thick globs of makeup all over his face. Balthazar scowled at his brothers when he noticed they were laughing behind their hands. Pride scoffed as he watched.

"You call that the most fabulous angel ever?" Lust glared at him.

"If you think you can do better prove it," she countered. Pride hesitated and Lust waved her brows at him tauntingly.

"What? Afraid to hurt your pride when I beat you?" Pride glared at her and stepped over to the cage holding Michael and pulled the angel out.

"Not at all," Pride sneered. "Now, let me show you how it's done." Greed stepped in front of him, flipping her brown hair back as she stared up at him.

"Think you can take me on too, Pride? I think I'll join in too," she said, taking Michael from him and grinning menacingly. Pride growled and opened a cage, pulling out an angel called Kamuel.

"You're on," he hissed.

Wrath watched them with a dark, irritated expression, but he didn't say anything to the three sins. Instead he turned back, watching as the same angel from before ran the scalpel right under the screaming man's eye. He hated Crowley for giving them this job. As much as he'd love to torture people he'd rather do it himself and he'd rather be torturing angels than teaching the angels to do the torturing. Crowley had him and his siblings on a tight leash though. The angels wouldn't be harmed in that way. They were to be trained into weapons for Crowley's use only. Wrath gnashed his teeth together, fingers itching to hold a blade. His eyes skimmed back towards his siblings, watching as they showed off three angels dress in hideous dresses and too much makeup. This wasn't what they should be doing. They shouldn't be housesitting these little brats. They should be tearing them apart piece by piece.

"Wrath!" Wrath snapped out of his thought and looked back to Sloth, Envy, and Gluttony. "You with us?" Gluttony asked, frowning at him in confusion. Wrath nodded, clearing his head.

"Yeah, just thinking," he murmured, taking the angel that had been torturing the man away and putting her back into her cage only to grab another angel to finish the job. He reached inside a cage and grabbed Castiel. The angel shrieked, beating his wings at the offending hand. Gabriel shot up then, doing the same, feathers slicing Wrath's hand open. Balthazar looked away from the humiliating dress he was now in and flew to their aid, punching at Wrath's head with his tiny fists. Wrath snarled, and flung his own fist into Balthazar's gut. Ribs cracked against his knuckles and Balthazar tumbled to the floor, wailing in pain. Wrath went after Gabriel then, grabbing him with his free hand and smacking the angel's head in against the bars of the cage.

"Stop! Stop it!" Castiel pleaded, shaking in fear in Wrath's hold. Pride quickly grabbed at Wrath pulling his hand off of Gabriel while Greed and Envy struggled to take Castiel. Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth all reached Balthazar, trying to get the angel to calm down.

"What the hell are you doing!" Pride screamed at Wrath once finally pulling him away from the cage. Greed quickly pushed Castiel back into the cage and the little angel hugged at Gabriel, wiping the blood on his brother' s face away in attempt to get a good look at the wounds.

"Don't tell me none of you are fed up with doing this?!" Wrath screamed. The others grew silent. "If Crowley wants angels to be obedient to him then let's torture the obedience into them! It would be much better for us!"

"That's not what we were ordered to do," Lust stated cradling Balthazar in her arms somewhat gently.

"To hell with orders!" Wrath growled. "Crowley never ordered us to take these three and yet here they are." Lust paled.

"Wait…you told me Crowley said –"

"I lied!" Wrath admitted. "I'm through with his orders. I'm done with playing Super Nanny. I want –" Gluttony's fist smashed into his nose. Wrath stumbled back, shock in his eyes.

"Go for a walk and calm down," Gluttony ordered. "And don't come back until you've come to your senses." Wrath glanced at the others, but they only glared at him, waiting for him to leave. Wrath huffed and turned his back, walking towards the door only to hover over the threshold. He glanced back towards the cage where Castiel was currently glaring at him through. The little angel was still hugging his big brother, but his attention was fully on Wrath. The sin smiled at the angel and walked through the door. Sure, he'd come back, but not follow Crowley or the others.

Balthazar screamed as his bones began to nit themselves together and Greed shushed him by stuffing a rag into his mouth. Gabriel and Castiel watched from behind the confines of their cage. Sloth had been kind enough to give Cas a cloth to clean the blood of his brother and a roll of bandages to cover them.

"Apologies for our brother," Pride sighed, looking Balthazar over once the healing spell did all it could. "He's not taking to fallowing Crowley well." Balthazar scoffed.

"Didn't notice," he said through gritted teeth as Sloth picked him up and carried him back to his cage. Sloth dropped him in and both Gabriel and Castiel were on him, holding him tight. Balthazar wrapped his arms around his brothers, rubbing a hand gently between their shoulder blades. He pulled away for a second, looking over Gabriel.

"You alright, bro?" Gabe nodded.

"Yeah, Cas, fixed me up pretty good," he stated, nudging the smaller angel. Cas didn't smile. His eyes were on the door Wrath had stormed through. "You alright, little bro?" Castiel chanced a glance away from the door and met his brother's gaze.

"You think he'll come back?" Gabe huffed.

"Hells yeah, but you know what?"

"What?"

"Dean and Sam will be here first," Balthazar said for Gabe. "They're probably on their way right now. Castiel gave them both a thankful smile. He turned then, staring back at the door.

"Please," Cas prayed silently to himself. "Don't let anyone else get hurt. Help us."
