Sakura's P.O.V.

Sakura sat in the photo booth with Sasuke. She never took a picture in a photo booth before. She never really got out of the house as a matter of fact. She was always working or at school. Sasuke slid his card and paid for a section. Sakura's heart was racing. She had to choose three different poses. The first one she smiled. The second one she stuck her tongue out. Now it was time for the last pose. She didn't know what face to do this time. Caught off guard Sasuke planted his lips on Sakura's cheek. Her face turned red. Sasuke stepped out the booth and Sakura followed behind. "Hey! I was thinking of another pose to do!" She yelled at him.

"You'll be alright." He said waiting for the pictures to print out. The booth spit out two individual copies of the photos. Sakura looked over them with Sasuke. She was so excited about taking the photos she didn't even pay attention to Sasuke. He did a smirk when she smiled and a light skin pose when she had her tongue sticking out. She looked at the one where he kissed her on the cheek. Her face was blood red and it was full of surprise.

He handed Sakura one of the duplicates. "You better not show anybody these."

"Or what?" She asked sticking the photo in her purse.

"Your ass is grass."

"I'm trembling with fear." She said sarcastically.

"Hn."

"You know what? Every time you say Hn you owe me ten bucks."

"Hn."

"That's ten dollars so far." She giggled.

"Oh haha."

Sakura took all the courage she had to reached over and grabbed Sasuke's hand. He didn't pull back at all which made her feel more at ease. He locked his fingers in between hers in a tight grip. Sakura's hands were so small compared to Sasuke's that his hand pretty much overlapped over hers. The couple walked together throughout the mall. Sakura had to admit she missed having Riri but Itachi and Izumi was right: she needed a break sometime.

They walked out of the mall and headed to the parking lot carrying their bags. The snow finally disappeared and it was more cool than cold outside. It was December 31st. There was the New Year's Eve Festival tonight and everyone planned on going together. The young couple just went to buy their kimonos for tonight along with enjoying their date.

Sasuke started the ignition and drove off from the mall parking lot. The pink haired girl reached over and cut on the radio.

"Hey." Sasuke called out. "What I told you about touching my radio?"

"You're the driver why do you care if it's on or not?" She asked.

"Exactly. I'm the driver. Don't touch the radio. You're the passenger."

Sakura grabbed the tune knob and started changing the channel. "I'm touching your precious radio. If only you weren't driving and could desperately stop me." Sakura said in a sarcastic way.

"Are you choosing to annoy me today?"

Sakura liked to pick with Sasuke. She just made sure she didn't go overboard with it. When he was annoyed Sakura noticed his vein would pop out on the right side of his temple. She found it funny. She finally drew away from the knob when she found a song.

She knew it. She listened to it a few time before. She felt as if it related to her in a way. Sakura started to sing along with the song.

Oh, she don't see the light that's shining

Deeper than the eyes can find it

Maybe we have made her blind

So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away

Cause covergirls don't cry after their face is made

"Sakura-" Sasuke tried to interrupt her singing but her loud voice cut him off.

But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark

You should know you're beautiful just the way you are

And you don't have to change a thing

The world could change its heart

No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful

Sakura admitted that she didn't have the best singing voice but it was far from bad. Her skin was carved with scars so she always hid them. She also didn't feel as pretty as all the other girls at school so she didn't see why Sasuke was found her attractive.

"Girl baby. Boy baby." She said pointing to each baby in their different locations.

"How are you sure that's the correct spot?" Izumi asked her.

"Boy baby. Girl baby."

"Riri I think it's time to give Aunt Izumi a break."

The small child pouted as she climbed off the sofa. She placed her small hand on her belly and rubbed it. "Bye-bye!" She said walking towards her mother.

"Come on Riri. Let's go relax before we get ready for the festival tonight. You'll see fireworks."

"Pop pop." She said.

"Hn." Sasuke said.

Sakura turned to him and punched him in the chest.

"Your pillow taps do not faze me ."

"Shut up!"

"Make me."

Sakura rolled her eyes. Everyone went relax for a few hours until it was almost time for the New Year's Eve festival.

Izumi did their hair already. Riri's was put in two buns with white flowers. Sakura and Izumi's hair was put up in an updo with the back of their hair down and chopsticks inserted in for decoration. Izumi finished doing their makeup and once that was done they changed into their kimonos. Sakura was in a pink and gold dress like kimono .The chest area was more opened up than your regular kimono. The golden trim had beautiful designs to it. Izumi was in a black kimono with multi-colored pink, purple, orange and white flowers. Riri was in a soft pink and white kimono with white flowers surrounding around it.

Sasuke and Itachi were in the front room waiting for the women. They were in similar kimonos. They were black, gray and white with the Uchiha symbol on the back. Sasuke had his normal hairstyle while Itachi let his cold black hair free from the ponytail holder. His hair was just as long as Sakura's and it looked so healthy and silky.

"Took you guys forever to get dressed." Sasuke mocked.

"You can't rush beauty." Izumi said smiling.

"Well since everyone is ready let head out. We're still early so not a lot of people will be there yet." Itachi said.

Everyone entered into a Cadillac Platinum. It was jet black with tinted windows. The interior was a tanish coffee color and leather seating. Sakura placed Riri in her car seat and strapped her in securely. They were on their way to the New Year's Eve festival. Something Sakura never experienced in person. She would only watch the fireworks from the window of her bedroom. This was her first time going.

Or what she could remember. Her father died while she was young. She barely remembered his face or even his voice. All she remembered of him was his emerald green eyes which he had passed on to her and she had passed on to Riri.

They finally arrived at the festival. Itachi was right. They made it early enough so that they could get a good enough parking spot and beat a crowd entering. Lanterns lit up the entire park. You heard children giggling and playing. The smell of delicious food filled the air. Sakura was excited. She looked over at her daughter. She was in a gaze. Riri never experienced something like this.

"How about we split up for a while. Two hours at least." Itachi mentioned. "Give everyone some bonding time then we can meet back up at the food stand."

"Sounds like a plan." The pink haired girl agreed. They went their separate ways for the time being. Sakura, Sasuke and Riri walked together with each teen holding onto the small child's hand. They walked up to a game booth. It was a dunk tank. The host came right up to them and started to speak.

"Step right up and try to knock down my dear friend Tony! Win a prize for the lucky lady!" His voice was loud and enthusiastic.

"Five bucks for three balls! Come on bud!"

"I guess." Sasuke said taking out his wallet and giving the man five dollars. He handed Sasuke the three balls. Sasuke threw the first one but missed the target hitting the glass instead.

"Breaking the glass won't help you out buddy!" The man said trying to irritate Sasuke. He threw the second and third ball but still wasn't successful.

"Better luck next time huh?" Sakura said.

"These games are rigged anyway. Let's go."

"Wait! Wait! How about we make a deal?" The man offered.

"We're not up for deals." Sasuke stated.

"Oh but this isn't just any deal! Let your pink haired beauty get a free go. She can get three balls for free and if she can knock down ole bland Tony then she can pick out two prizes instead of one! How does that sound miss?"

"It's worth a shot."

Sakura shook the man's hand confirming the deal. She threw the first ball and missed.

"Ooooo! Gotta do better than that!"

She threw second ball hitting the target but not hard enough.

"Come on! You throw like a girl!"

Sakura was completely irritated now. She had the last ball in her hand. She cocked her hand back and threw the ball with all her might. "CHAAAAAA!" The ball hit the target hard enough. Poor ole Tony was submerged under water.

The host was in complete shock. He couldn't find the words to say.

"I think you owe me two prizes my good man."

"Right… Two…"

Sakura picked out a minion plushy and a red panda plushy. She gave the red panda to Riri and the minion to Sasuke

"Pandaaa." Riri said.

"What am I supposed to do with this?"

"Take good care of Bob will you?"

"Seriously? Bob?"

"Come on. Let's go have some fun!" Sakura said grabbing his hand and Riri's. Time flew by. The tiny family enjoyed spending time alone with one another. Sakura was happy. Riri was happy.

'But was sasuke ?'

"Well look who's out and about!" A loud voice said. It was Naruto along with Hinata. Naruto was in an orange and black kimono with the Uzumaki sign on the back and Hinata was in an all white kimono with red flower prints and her hair was pinned up.

"Dobe." Sasuke said. "I thought you said you weren't coming this year?"

"Well my mom kicked me out so I had no choice. She was gripping about enjoying my young days blah blah blah. So she chased me out the house with her iron skillet."

"I'm glad we did decide to go. We can all tag along now." Hinata said.

"We were actually going meet up with Itachi and Izumi. We all came together." Sakura said.

"WHAT?!" Naruto yelled. "Itachi is actually having fun?"

"Surprisingly." Sasuke said. "Ever since Izumi has been back."

"Izumi must have him whipped or something." The blonde said. Hinata kept her smiling face as she slapped Naruto in the back of the head.

The group headed towards the food stand. Itachi and Izumi were already there ordering food.

"Looks like you guys made it just in time." The pregnant woman said. "And you brought guest I see."

"It's not a party without me!" Naruto said chuckling.

"Well sit down and order." Itachi said.

Riri walked over to Itachi. He picked her up and placed the small child in his lap. "Hi Unc!" She said smiling.

"Good evening Riri."

"Teehee!"

"You are a silly child."

"You're silly!"

Everyone ordered their food and ate together.

Izumi looked over at the minion that was in Sasuke's lap. "Where did the plushy come from?"

"Sakura won it for me at the dunk tank." He answered.

"Sheesh Sasuke isn't it suppose to be the other way around?" Naruto butted in.

"Shut it dobe."

"Make me!"

"Wait. This reminds me of something." Izumi mentioned. Her eyes lit up as she remembered. "Mr. Roary!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Sasuke said trying to avoid the conversation.

"Don't play dumb. Mr. Roary was your favorite dinosaur plushy." Itachi said.

"He always kept that plushy with him wherever he went!" The pregnant woman mentioned.

The blonde burst into laughter.

Sakura noticed Sasuke's face was turning red. He was embarrassed.

"Wow Sasuke. I didn't know you were such a softy growing up."

"Hn."

"20 bucks sir."

"Riri has to potty!"

"So do I." Izumi said standing up.

"I'll go with you."

"Me too."

Sakura and Hinata both said getting up.

"What's up with women and always going to the bathroom in a pack?" Naruto questioned.

"To make sure perverts aren't watching duh. You guys don't have to worry about that." Sakura said.

"Riri has to potty!"

"Okay! Okay! We're going."

All the girls walked to the bathroom together. You could never be too careful of going by yourself when there are big crowds. At least that's how Sakura saw it.

She was waiting outside the bathroom for everyone else. Riri wanted to stay with Izumi. Sakura walked away from the bathroom. She saw a man made stone pond with koi fish inside. They were beautiful. Sakura looked up from the fish. There was a man that stood right across the pond from her. She didn't recognize him at all but she received an uneasy vibe from him. There wasn't enough light so she couldn't get a good look at his face. "H-hello…" She called out. The man turned away and began to walk off, disappearing into the crowd. "Wait!" Sakura yelled. She ran after the mystery man. Why was she going after him? Why didn't she just ignore him and go back? Her body felt as if it was in a trance. She needed to find him. She needed to know who he was. Before Sakura knew it she was back by the entrance gate.

"Where did he go?" She asked herself wiping the sweat from her forehead.

"Oh no. I have to get back. Everyone might be worried about about me."

"Sakura!" She heard Izumi call out.

She turned to the direction of her voice. The pregnant Izumi was looking for her. She could tell that by her face that she was tired.

"Izumi!" The pink haired girl waved her hands to signal her. Izumi spotted her and started to walk her direction.

"EVERYONE LOOK OUT!" Someone screamed. Sakura saw bright beaming headlights coming her way. Out of instinct Sakura jumped out of the way from getting hit. She landed face first into the dirt. She turned over and looked. People were getting out of the way from the car but something tragic was about to happen.

Izumi couldn't move fast enough.

The car ran her over. She flipped over the top of the car until she landed on the ground. The car ended up running into a telephone pole. Sakura couldn't hear anything but people screaming and the sound of the car horn going off.

"IZUMI!" Sakura screamed. She ran over to the unconscious pregnant woman. "Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh." Sakura felt the tears running down her face. She kept trying to tap Izumi in the face to wake her up but her eyes stayed close. She felt the blood on her hands from touching the back of her head. She touched Izumi's stomach. She didn't feel the babies move at all. Then she noticed that there was blood coming from in between her legs. This wasn't good.

"Somebody! Anybody! HELP ME!"

"Sakura?" She heard a voice call out. It was Itachi. Along with everyone else. Itachi paused. He saw his pregnant wife on the ground bleeding and not responding. She ran towards their side. He place his hands on her face calling out her name. "Oh no no no no no... Izumi come on. Come on baby. You have to get up." Everyone came up behind him and was horrified by what they saw. Hinata moved Riri away from the incident. Sakura never seen Itachi so scared in his life.

The older Uchiha took out his phone and called 911.

"Hello? Yes. My wife. She's hurt. She's six months pregnant with twins. I need an ambulance as soon as possible please."

Sasuke went over to Sakura. "What happened?"

"The- the car. It came out of no-nowhere. Izumi c-couldn't move quick e-enough…" Sakura burst into tears.

The ambulance and police officers came in a matter of minutes. The EMT's strapped Izumi on a stretcher and loaded her into the ambulance. Itachi walked over to Sasuke. He placed a set of keys in his hand. "Meet us at the hospital. I'm going to ride with her in the ambulance."

"Itachi I don't think-" The raven haired boy was cut off.

"Sasuke we need you." His red eyes pierced through his onyx ones.

"Okay. I'll go."

"Sir. We need to leave now. We can't wait any longer." One of the EMT's stated.

Itachi walked away from them and ran to the ambulance and they closed the back door the sirens went off and they drove off. Everyone else made it back to Itachi's Cadillac to meet them at the hospital. Sakura's mind was running. She cried the entire drive. She felt as if it was her fault. Everything was her fault. If she just disappeared then everyone's lives would be better including her daughter's. She just wished that it was her that got hit by the car and not Izumi.

Sasuke walked up to the receptionist's desk. "I'm looking for what room Izumi Uchiha is in." He said trying to sound calm.

"Give me one second sir." She said picking up her phone and dialing a number. "Yes sir. I'm looking for an Izumi Uchiha. Uh huh. Uh huh. Yes sir." She hung up the phone and looked over at Sasuke. "I'm sorry but you guys will have to wait in the waiting room. She's going through an emergency cesarean section."

Sakura's eyes grew wide. This wasn't good.

"I need to know if she's okay. That's my sister in law."

"I understand but I can't give out anymore information. You can't enter in the room right now. You just have to wait."

Naruto placed his hand on Sasuke's shoulder. "Come on dude. Itachi's with her. Izumi and the babies will be okay."

Sasuke let out a sigh. He was beyond worried. Sakura never seen him so worried before.

They took a seat in the waiting room. An hour passed by but to everyone else it seemed like forever.

The sound of the elevator opening made everyone turn their heads. A few guest and hospital staff came out and then Itachi came out behind. He walked right towards them. Sasuke immediately got up and walked over. Sakura and the rest followed behind.

"Is Izumi alright? What about the babies?" Sakura asked.

"She's okay. The babies are fine too. They're in the NICU right now. Come on." The older Uchiha said walking back to the elevator. Once everyone entered he pressed the sixth button.

"There is a detective here that needs to talk to you Sakura." Itachi said. He wasn't even looking her way. Just straight ahead. This scared Sakura. Hinata was holding on to the sleeping Riri.

"You were with her ,right?"

"Y-yeah…"

In the blink of an eye Sakura was backed into a corner with Itachi pinning her and Naruto and Sasuke trying to move him.

"Then Why didn't you do anything?!" He yelled. His eyes red like fire they pierced her soul.

"Itachi!" Sasuke yelled.

"What the hell were you doing that she got hit by that car?!"

Sakura was froze. The tears fell from her eyes. Fear took over her body.

"Answer me!" Itachi roared. Sakura never seen Itachi so full of rage. He was scaring her.

Sasuke and Naruto were finally able to pull Itachi away from her.

"Itachi chill! It wasn't her fault." Naruto said. The teens were still restraining him. Without any effort Itachi shoved both of them off of him. He cleared out his throat. "I'm sorry Sakura. I just… I just snapped. Please forgive me."

The elevator doors opened and Itachi immediately walked out.

Sasuke walked over to Sakura who still stood against the corner. He reached his hand out to her. She grabbed a hold to his.

They walked down the hallway passing up the nurse's station. They made it to room 664. Itachi slowly opened the door and everyone entered with caution. Izumi laid on the hospital bed conscious. The bed was set to wear she was sitting up. Her right arm was in a cast and a sling. Her head was wrapped in bandages and she had cuts and bruises all over her face. There stood a man in the corner. He wore dark shades that hid his eyes and a long brown trench coat that covered up to his chin. He wore a badge that hung from a chain around his neck.

"Sakura. This is Detective Shino Aburame." Itachi said.

"Nice to meet you Sakura." He said in a modest voice. He took a few steps closer to her. "I just need to ask you a few questions since you were a witness."

"Okay…" Sakura said. Her throat felt sore as hell.

He took a notebook and pen out of his pocket. "What happened from your perspective?"

"Well... there was someone driving the car… the person… he just drove through the festival entrance. I jumped out of the way from the car but I didn't know it was heading Izumi's way…" The tears fell from her face. "I went over to her and I tried to wake her up but she wouldn't wake up and she was bleeding-"

"Sakura calm down." Sasuke said. He placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Izumi told me she was looking for you."

"T-that's right…"

"Where were you that she had to go look for you?"

"I was looking at the koi fish."

"But Izumi stated that she found you by the entrance and the koi fish weren't nowhere near the entrance."

"Y-yeah… I just started wandering around." For some reason Sakura couldn't tell them about the mystery man. She felt bad enough and they didn't need to worry about some stranger.

"Detective are these questions necessary?" Itachi butted in. "It was an accident."

"I understand but I do have to ask." He said writing down his last bit of notes before closing the notebook.

"The driver. Is he okay?" Izumi asked in a faint voice.

"He's dead. He died on impact."

"Oh dear God…" Izumi covered her mouth.

" We are still waiting on an intoxicating report to come in. No one is just going to randomly crash their car."

"You can keep us updated but it'll be no use. Charges can't be filed on a dead man." Itachi said. "If you have no more questions Detective you can leave."

"Understandable. You do have two children to worry about. I'll excuse myself for now." Detective Shino shook hands with Itachi and walked out of the room.

"Can we go see the babies?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah. Are they okay?" Hinata asked.

"They're holding on as much as they can."

Izumi tried her best to sit up. "Itachi. Call a nurse. I want to see my babies."

"Izumi you need to rest after that cesarean sec-"

"I don't care about what you or the doctors have to say. I'm going see them so go get me a damn wheelchair."

Can't argue with a woman who just had kids. But Izumi was hit by a car as well.

A nurse was called and Izumi received her wheelchair. Itachi grabbed the handles of the chair and started to push her out of the room. Everyone went to the other side of the floor where the NICU was located. They made it to the room and entered quietly. The hospital room was set up like a normal hospital room for a sick baby. There was a metal crib and a sofa that came out as a bed for the parents. There stood an incubator. Inside of it were the two twin babies. They were both laying on their bellies with tubes and wires all over them. They were entirely too small.

Izumi softly cried as she saw her two small children inside of incubator practically lifeless.

"They're both 2lbs and 3oz." Itachi spoke up breaking the silence.

"I want to hold my children…" She whelped.

"Izumi we can't. They're too small. They have to stay in there until their lungs are developed more plus a lot more." He said trying to relax his wife. She wiped the tears away from her eyes.

Sakura walked over to the incubator and looked over at the babies. There were bandages wrapped around both of their eyes.

"Did you guys ever come up with names?" She asked trying to distract both Izumi and Itachi's mind.

"Yes. Exactly we did." Izumi said showing a small smile.

"Ichiro for the boy and Itsuki for the girl." Itachi said.

"That's perfect…"

"They will get healthier. And stronger. Keep your faith. They will be alright."

Sakura looked at them. Itachi was very loving towards his wife and know his children. It kind of reminded her of Sasuke and herself plus Riri.

It was silent in the room for a while. The Uchiha couple watched their children rest in the incubator. Everything was peaceful until out of the blue the monitors started to go off. The alarms beeped continuously.

"What's going on?" Izumi asked panicking.

Doctors and nurses rushed into the room going straight for the twins. "I need everyone to leave out of the room now." One of the nurses demanded.

"I'm the mother! I'm not leaving!"

"What's going on with our children?!" Itachi yelled out.

"Please we need everyone to exit the room right now!" The doctor said.

Sasuke and Sakura headed out of the room while Itachi and Izumi tried to plead with the doctor to stay.

"What's going on with them?" Sasuke asked.

"I don't know… they were born too early. There will be complications." Sakura said. She felt bad. Really bad. She just hoped the twins were okay. That they will be okay.

Sasuke and Sakura waited outside the door. Itachi and Izumi never came out of the room. Sakura started to bite down on her fingers. Her nerves were bad. If something else happened to the twins Itachi might have another episode. She wouldn't blame him if he did.

This was her fault.

"Hey." Sasuke's voice caught her attention. "It's going to be okay. If they're anything like Itachi they will pull through this." He said trying to brighten up the mood. Sakura wiped the tears from her eyes. "Yeah. Maybe you're right."

Both teens turned around looking at the room door. Izumi was screaming in agony. A few minutes later the doctor exited out of the room.

"Sir. That's my brother and my sister in law in there. What happened? Are the babies okay?" Sasuke asked.

The doctor breathed in heavily. "I'm sorry but there were…. complications."

"What-what does that even mean? What complications?"

"One of the twins …. didn't make it. I'm sorry. We did the best we could. They were delivered too soon plus they were in fetal distress. We aren't giving the other baby too much longer either. It's only a matter of time."

'No….'

"The best thing to do is to gather anymore close family and friends to say their farewells."

Sasuke walked over to a nearby chair and sat down. He buried his face into his lap. Sakura was frozen in place. "This can't be real…." She walked over to Sasuke and placed her hands on his shoulders. He didn't move. He stayed in that same position. All Sakura could do was stare out into space.

One of the babies died. They actually didn't make it. It was only a matter of time until the other passed. This was her fault. All her fault.

She made everyone miserable that was around her. She had to change that...
