Sakura's P.O.V.
She held on tight as she listened to his heartbeat through his chest. His body was so warm to her. She didn't want to let go. If she could merge her body into his she would so that they could never be apart. She looked at his sleeping face. He looked so peaceful. Sakura would miss waking up to the face of the man she was in love with. She layed in the bed a little longer. She wanted to take advantage of this.
Today was the day that she would be leaving to live in a group home. Maybe this was for the best. Riri would be in the perfect environment and wouldn't have to move from place to place. Sakura got up from the bed and stretched. Her lower abdomen felt sore. They made love to each other almost every night for the whole week. It was no telling when she would be able to feel Sasuke's touch again. She went ahead and took a shower. Once she was out she got dress and headed out the room. All her bags were pretty much packed already from last night. She didn't want to wait last minute to pack up. She made it downstairs and saw Izumi eating breakfast with Riri. The small child was munching down on a single pancake with eggs and strawberries.
"Oh good morning Sakura." Izumi said smiling. She could tell that it was forced. Izumi's had very bad bags underneath her eyes. Stress was her best friend right now.
"Good morning." She walked over to Riri and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Mimi! Look!" She said picking up the sliced strawberry. "Red."
"Yes. It is red sweetheart." Sakura said smiling. She sat down at the table with them. She filled her plate with two pancakes and a few eggs and strawberries. She poured some syrup on her pancakes and started to munch down. She was going to miss eating Izumi's cooking.
After a few minutes of silence Izumi spoke up. "Sakura."
"Mhm?" She said chewing her food.
"This situation that I'm- That Itachi and I are going through is pretty tough. I will not lie to you. It's taking all I have not to break down as it is. But what's really keeping me from doing that is Ichiro and Riri." She looked up at Sakura. Sakura had paused from eating. "Riri is very special to Itachi and I. I just want you to know that she will be in great care while you are away. We love her as she was our own. We love you as well, Sakura. You are our family no matter what happens."
"I love you guys too." Sakura said holding back her tears. "After my father died I haven't felt the warmth of a family until I got along with all of you."
"Now don't think we won't be coming to visit you, because we will."
"I would love that. I'm just not too sure on how Riri will cope with me not really around for a while."
"It will be okay. We can handle her little temper tantrums."
A heartwarming conversation was exchanged between the two of them.
Sakura cherished the moment.
The morning soon passed sooner than expected. Sasuke sat on the side of the pink haired girl and the small child as they watched tv together. The doorbell rang. Sakura's heart felt as if it stopped for a moment. She was nervous and sad at the same time. She held her tears back. It wasn't the time to cry.
Madara Uchiha walked in the house dressed nicely as always. A light brown zipped down sweater and a pair of slacks. He was having a conversation with Itachi. Sakura felt a tight grip on her hand. Sasuke had tighten his grasp before he let go. "I'm going to go get your bags for you."
"Okay…" She held onto Riri. The small child had her eyes focused on Madara. This of course caught his attention. His red eyes darted at the small child. Riri stared back without blinking. So did Madara. Riri ended up closing her eyes really hard then giggled loudly. "Riri lost!"
Sakura saw the smirk that was on Madara's face for a split second then it turned back serious. "Are all your bags packed Sakura? We have to show up on time and I hate being late."
"Y-yes. Sasuke is getting them right now."
"Do you also have all your information as far as your birth certificate and social security card?"
"Yes."
"Good. We shouldn't have any problems getting you in the group home."
Sasuke came down the stairs with Sakura's three bags. "I'll go put these in the trunk for you."
"Okay…" Sakura felt a knot in her throat. She wanted to cry but she couldn't. She needed to be strong.
Itachi walked up to her. "It'll be easier on her if I took her now." He said.
"Right." Sakura looked at Riri and squeezed her tightly. "Mimi will be back soon sweetheart."
"Where Mimi go?" The small child asked.
"Mimi has to go somewhere to get some help. Uncle Itachi, Aunt Izumi and Papa will be here for you okay?"
Riri pinched her mother's cheeks then planted kisses on her face. She smiled at her mother.
"I love you sweetheart. So much." She said hugging her again before she handed her over to Itachi.
The Uchiha looked at her directly in the eyes. "I guess this is goodbye for now." She said. With his free hand Itachi pulled her into an embrace with shocked Sakura. It felt so weird. She was never this close to Itachi before. He looked at her and smiled. "Take care of yourself while you're away."
"I will."
Izumi started crying as she hugged Sakura tightly. "You better take care of yourself! We love you too much for you to not to! You hear me?"
"I promise I will." She said returning the hug.
Sasuke came back in from putting her bags in the car. She walked up to him and hugged him tightly. His strong arms wrapped around her. "Don't try to be all tough and hold back your tears. Your nose is red."
"Shut up you idiot." She choked out. Sakura couldn't hold back her tears. She cried like a big baby in Sasuke's chest. She was going to miss them all. They were her family. They loved every bit of her. Hopefully, the last few months will pass by faster than she knows it. She felt the soft touches on her silky hair. "I love you Sakura."
"I love you too." She said sniffling.
The Uchiha pinched her nose hard.
"Ow! Why did you do that?"
"Maybe because I don't want to kiss a snot nosed brat." Sasuke planted a kiss on lips. "I'll watch you as the car pulls off." He said wiping her tears away. "Stop crying. It won't be too long until I see you again."
Sakura embraced him one last time. Riri ran over to her mother and grabbed her leg. "Bye bye Mimi!" Sakura kneeled down and held her closely. "I'll see you soon Riri."
"It's time to go Sakura." Madara called out.
"Right…" She kissed Riri on the forehead. Her eyes locked with Sasuke once more before she walked away. He didn't show it at all but Sakura could tell that he was sad just from his eyes. Sakura entered the passenger seat of Madara's silver Jaguar. Madara entered right behind her and started the ignition. As he drove off Sakura turned to look back. Just as he said Sasuke was standing outside with Riri waving goodbye. She felt her heart in pain.
'It won't be for long.' She told herself.
The car ride was silent between the two. Madara wasn't much a talker it seemed and neither was Sakura. The group home was across town so it felt like forever to reach there. Sakura noticed she was in an unfamiliar town. It seemed pretty uppity to Sakura. She was never here before. Nice homes. Nice shops and stores. Sakura enjoyed her viewing the town while she could.
That soon came to an end. Madara pulled up and parked his car in the front of the building. It looked very sophisticated from the outside. Madara and Sakura exited the car. He popped the trunk open with his keys. She walked over to the trunk and reached for her bags but she was stopped by a large pair of hands. It was Madara. She looked up at him in surprise.
"What? You think I'm too uppity to carry your bags for you? Or that I come off as a pervasive narcissist?" He snorted. "Or perhaps I'm too old to be carrying anything?"
Sakura didn't say anything.
"Aw yes. I forgot. You're a bit on the quiet side. I like that about you. You're very respectful." He said taking out her bags and closing the trunk to his car. They started walking towards the front of the building. "Which is why I've decided to help you with putting you in this group home. If Itachi allowed you to stay in his home then there must be something special about you."
They stopped right at the front of the glass door.
"I took my time out to help you with the situation that you are so I will inform you right now Ms. Sakura." His red eyes peered felt as if they had pierced her soul. "Mess this up and you will suffer a great wrath."
"Y-yes sir…" Sakura trembled at his words. She couldn't mess this up at all.
They walked into the building and headed to the main office. As soon as the front desk clerk saw Madara Uchiha they didn't waste no time getting out the administrator. The administrator came out quickly. She was well dressed with dark short hair. She had to be in her early 30s.
She bowed to Madara. "Welcome Mr. Uchiha."
"No need to be so formal Shizune." He said.
She stood straight up and smiled warmly. "Please follow me to my office." She said directing them. Her office was very organized and well cleaned. It smelled of jasmine and fresh rain. Shizune took a seat behind her desk as Madara and Sakura sat down in the two leather seats in front of her. Sakura felt herself getting fidgety. She wanted to make a good impression.
"Okay. So this is the lovely Ms. Sakura Haruno." She smiled at Sakura. Her vibe was as warm as the sun itself. "My name is Shizune Kato. As you already know I am the administrator of Kohona Group Home for Juveniles. Unlike some other places, we here care very much for our kids. We offer different programs regarding therapy for everyone dealing with any time of abuse, drug problems, troubled homes, etc. Sakura do you have all your personal information such as your birth certificate?"
"Yes ma'am." She said pulling out the folder containing her important papers. "The only thing I don't have a copy of is my shot record but I am up to date with my shots."
"That's quite fine. We can always find a copy from your school." Shizune said taking the folder and going over papers. After looking over them for a few seconds she put them down and cupped her hands together. The look on her face was now more serious. This made Sakura nervous.
"Now Sakura, when I spoke to Madara about why you should enter into the group home I was told only to an extent. You must know this place is to help out troubled teens so all I ask is for the truth and not just another spoiled teen wanting to run away from home. Madara mentioned that his youngest grandson, Sasuke, is your boyfriend correct?"
"Yes."
"And you had permission from his older brother, Itachi, to live together?"
"Yes…"
"This move was because of a serious incident?"
Sakura nodded her head. She looked away from Shizune.
"From what I was told Itachi witnessed you covered in bruises. Can you explain to me what happened that night? It's okay if you don't want to talk about it now but sooner or later it's best to. You can't keep things bottled up forever."
She recalled what happened that night. Sasori's assault. When he held her at gunpoint. When he raped her. And Riri witnessed everything. That didn't need to be known to them. She had to lie. Just partly.
"My mother has been abusing me for a few years. She's a drug addict. When she's high she beats me. When she doesn't have a fix right away she beats me. If I moved the wrong way she beats me. I was tired of the abuse. And my daughter doesn't deserve to suffer."
Shizune tucked her hair behind her ear. "And you don't have any proof of the abuse as far as paperwork?"
"No… I've never went to a hospital."
"Why is that?"
"I was scared."
"Of what exactly?"
"If people didn't believe me. If Riri was going to be taken from me."
"You do know it's hard to believe that you were abused because of no documentations right?" Shizune said with a serious expression on her face. "So how do I know this isn't a cover up just so that you can be with your boyfriend? He's handsome and has money. He's taking care of your child. Could you explain that?"
Sakura felt weak at the stomach. "But I'm not lying. I have scars all over my body as proof. I wouldn't lie about something like this. I wouldn't." She felt the tears build up in her eyes. "I've been abused since I was 13 years old. Please… I'm begging you… Give me a chance here. I promised Lord Madara that if I stay here until I graduate my daughter could stay in The Uchiha resident. I might deserve to suffer but Riri doesn't." The tears fell down her face. Her head was placed down.
She felt a hand placed on her shoulder. When she looked up she noticed it was Madara's.
"Dry your tears and pick up your head."
"Lord Madra…" She said wiping her tears. He removed his hand from her shoulder. Sakura guessed that that was his way of showing comfort. Which was pretty weird coming from him.
"Sakura." Shizune spoke. "Relax. That was simply a test."
"A test?"
"Yes. I knew you weren't lying. I just needed to hear some things from you. Lord Madara wouldn't risk his time and effort on just anyone." She handed her some tissues from off her desk. Sakura took them and cleaned her face.
The woman opened up a file and took out a few papers. She then stacked them neatly together and placed them in front of Sakura with a pen. She looked up at the lady.
"I heard quite enough already. I don't want you to force out everything. When you are comfortable enough we can start some counselling sections with you. Please fill out your paperwork to start here."
The pink haired girl smiled with relief. She begin to do her paperwork. Even though she would be separated from everyone for a due amount of time it seemed worth it. Riri was with people she could trust. She knew Sasuke and Itachi and Izumi would never harm her. They loved her so much. She was beyond blessed to have them.
Once she finished signing every piece of document she handed to paperwork back to Shizune.
"Alright. Now, Lord Madara, this is where we do our farewells. Sakura will be in great care here."
Madara stood up from his chair. Sakura did the same.
"If you're expecting a hug don't think about it." He told the pink haired girl.
'Yikes…'
"I assure you that she will be in great hands here Mr. Uchiha." The woman said respectfully.
"For your sake, you would want to."
Both Sakura and Shizune gulped. Madara was a scary man. And Sakura thought Itachi was scary enough.
After saying their goodbyes, Madara Uchiha left. Shizune let out a sign of relief.
"He is a very powerful man. I would hate to get on his bad side." She let out a nervous chuckle. "Please Sakura, make yourself comfortable here. This is your home now until you graduate."
"I'll try Ms. Shizune." She said with a bit of sadness in her voice but she tried her best to give off a smile.
"I won't lie to you. It'll be hard at first getting use to your new environment but I promise it's worth it. We have visiting hours with family every Saturday and Sunday. You're guardian must sign you in and sign you out. I've already spoken with Itachi about your situation so there's going to have to be few things with court we have to do."
"Court?"
"Yes. You're case is child abuse and with her not putting out that you were a runaway that's also child neglection. There will be a small session in court and if everything goes smoothly Itachi Uchiha will be granted temporary custody over you."
Sakura was speechless. She was frighten. Would she have to come face to face with her mother? Would her mother speak to her? What about eye contact? She felt an uneasiness in her stomach like she was going to hurl any moment."
She felt a soft hand on her shoulder. "We are here for you Sakura. You have plenty of support."
"I hope you're right…"
"Now now… Let's not get gloomy. Come on. I'll show you to your dorm."
Sakura grabbed her suitcases and followed behind the woman. The building was huge and it was beautiful. You could smell the scent of bleach and freshness down each hallway. Sakura saw a few girls walking down the hallway. Of course she felt eyes burning into her from their stares. She was the new girl. A fresh face.
Shizune and Sakura stopped in front of a door. Room 125. Shizune knocked on the door three times and waited for someone to call out. No one answered. "Now I told that young lady she was having a roommate today and she's not even here." Shizune said taking out her set of keys and unlocked the door. She flicked on the light to the dark room. It was a well cleaned room. Whoever stayed in here kept their side well organized. Four small dumbbells were placed right in front of her bed. A few posters were put up. Some were athletic and the rest were from some rock band.
"Well I was going to introduce you to your roommate but it looks as if you'll have to do it. Take the rest of the day to unpack and please be well behaved."
"Yes ma'am."
"Alright then. Excuse me, I'll have to return to my office now. Take care Sakura." Shizune said giving Sakura one last smile before disappearing.
'Well… This is it.'
Sakura pulled her suitcase over and started to unpack. On her side of the room she had her own dresser, there own closet, and a twin sized bed with a nightstand. There was a flat screen tv that was placed in the middle of the room on the wall. She could tell there was only one bathroom. The tv wasn't the only thing they had to share. She just hoped whoever her roommate was wasn't a complete bitch like Karin. If only Hinata could be her roommate. It would be perfect.
Sakura began sorting her clothes out into each dresser drawer and into the closet. She had took out a few photos she had printed. Luckily she had some clear tape with her. She taped the photos onto the wall on the side of her bed. It was plenty of memories of everyone. The pictures looked so perfect on the wall in a 4x4 square but completely bigger. She had one photo left. It was a picture of Sasuke, Riri and her. They were all smiling. Riri had the biggest smile of all sitting in between Sakura and Sasuke. They looked like a family. A happy one at that. She took the photo and placed it standing up against the lamp on the nightstand.
'A nice frame would do.'
Sakura was interrupted by her door room opening. The girl closed the door behind her as she walked in. She froze for an instant as she noticed she wasn't alone in the room. Her big brown eyes lit up.
"Well if this isn't a surprise." She said smiling. "They told me I was getting a roommate but damn that was fast." She said unzipping her jogging jacket. Revealing her slim but yet built upper body. She had on nothing but a sports bra and a waist trainer.
Sakura remembered exactly who she was just from looking at her two buns but in her head. She was the girl that helped out her and Hinata in the bathroom that day.
The girl extended her hand out. She must have didn't remember her. "Nice to meet you. I'm-"
"Tenten." Sakura blurted out. She could feel her face go hot. Tenten looked at her weirdly as she pulled her arm back in.
"We go to the same school." She said breaking the awkwardness. "You helped me and my friend Hinata one day from a fight."
"OH! Okay okay. Yeah I remember now. Sorry. I'm a bit of a busy body." She said chuckling. "But yeah I'm Tenten. And your name? Sorry I don't recall if I got it before or not."
"Sakura."
"Well, Sakura, let's get along with each other okay? I'm not with all the drama."
"Neither am I. I just want peace."
It went silent for a second as Tenten glanced over at Sakura's wall as she took a few steps closer. "Holy crap! You're the Uchiha's girlfriend?"
"That I am." Sakura said.
"How could that go under the radar for me? I guess I really don't pay attention. Haha…" She saw the picture of them together on the nightstand. "Cute kid. She's for you?"
"Yeah. Her name is Riri."
"Aww! Cute name for such a cute face. How old is she?"
"Two. She'll be three in April."
"Not to get in your business or nothing…" Tenten said changing the subject. "But what's your story?"
"My story?" She said confused.
"Yeah. Like why are you in the group home?"
Sakura went silent. It was too much to explain.
"Okay. You don't trust me. I get it." She said putting her hands on her hips. "That's quite understandable."
"No. It's not that-"
"Uncomfortable situation?"
"Pretty much."
Tenten let out a light sigh. "It's okay. No rush right? Another day we can talk about that."
"Yeah that would be best."
"Well you're almost done unpacking I see?" She said looking over at Sakura's suitcase.
"Y-yeah… I just have to put up my hang up clothes then I'm done."
"I know I'm late but need some help? Don't worry I'm not a girly girl so I won't be borrowing your shoes or dresses. I hate that crap. Bleh!"
Sakura let out a laugh. "Sure." Sakura unzipped her bag and started to put the clothes out on her bed. Tenten went into the empty closet and grabbed the hangers.
"DUDE! How small are your feet?" The brunette yelled out.
"I wear a size 5." The pink haired girl answered.
"You have baby feet. I know shoes are cheap as hell for you." She started the hang up some of the clothes and laid them on the bed.
"Same thing Sasuke said." Sakura took out the last remaining pieces of her clothing and came across a white rectangular box. 'What's this?'
Sakura opened up the box and was taken by surprise as she took the device out of the box. 'He did NOT buy me a phone.'
It was a rose gold Iphone 8 Plus. It came with a glass screen protector on it and a customized otterbox with cherry blossom designs on it.
She pressed the power button and waited for it to come on. It was already set up. She saw a piece of paper in the box with her icloud account and password written on it.
"Hey when I offered to help I didn't mean play Mai Ling the Maid." Tenten interrupted her.
"Oh sorry…" Sakura stuck the phone in her back pocket and finished putting up her clothes. Tenten seemed pretty nice but she still had to keep her guard up. She couldn't trust everyone.
"Well. My job here is done." Tenten said sliding Sakura's empty suitcases under her bed. "I'll be in the shower. Don't worry. The hot water doesn't run out." She took out some of her clothes and headed to the bathroom.
Sakura took the phone out her pocket and tossed it on her bed. She had a shower this morning so Sakura took out some sweats and a baggy shirt. She started to undress. Her necklace felt cold against her creamy white skin. Sakura took a moment to look at it again. It was so beautiful. The sapphire sat right in between the white gold designs that intertwined like vines around the jewel. She got dressed and plopped herself on top her bed, grabbing her phone. After messing with it she found out where the contacts were located. Only few contacts were saved. She immediately Facetimed Sasuke. He answered after the third ring.
"About time you called. I was starting to doubt you." He said so sarcastically.
"Thank you but why did you buy this for me? This is expensive Sasuke."
"So what? You needed a phone so you got one."
Sakura rolled her eyes.
"Did I ever tell you have sexy you are when you're mad?"
"Do. Not. Start."
"Or what?" He smirked.
Sakura couldn't stand him right now. He loved to aggravate her. "If I could just punch you right now."
"Those little pillow fluffs you call fist don't bother me."
"Oh haha."
"Hold on." He said moving the camera around. All Sakura could see in the camera was a big forehead with pink strains of hair in her few.
"Mimi!"
"Hey Riri! I miss you!"
Riri looked into the camera with her big green eyes. Her face was entirely too close. If it wasn't her forehead you were seeing it was just one eye and a piece of her cheek.
They were on the phone for a few minutes talking until Sakura heard the shower cut off.
"Well my roommate is about to come out so I'll text you okay?"
"Sure thing."
"I'll call you tomorrow babe."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Bye-bye Mimi!" The small child said kissing her hand and blowing her mother a kiss. Sakura acted like she caught the kiss and pressed it against her lips.
The call ended. Sakura laid back on the bed sulking. Tenten came out of the bathroom. Her hair wasn't in its two buns anymore. It was actually quite long and thick. She went over to her bed and pulled a computer from under her bed.
"Hey. Did you ever finish all that crap work we were stuck with over the break?" Tenten asked.
"I been finished it."
"WHAT?"
"Yeah. I finished it three day after our break started."
"Talk about dedication."
"Knowledge is power. I want to go to college right after graduation and I need a reliable scholarship. I want to become valedictorian."
"Not trying to burst your bubble or anything but you do know you have some tough rivals fighting for that same spot."
"Neji Hyuga and Shikamaru Nara."
"Yeah but I wish you the best of luck with that. Who knows. You might even come top of our class."
"If I can make it to the top five I would be okay with it but I'm aiming for valedictorian because I can't pay for school on my own."
"I feel you on that. Well, I hate to end the conversation but I'm tired from that workout I did earlier. Chat tomorrow?"
"Sure."
"Okay great. Goodnight." Tenten said cutting off the main light in the dorm. Sakura still hand her lamp light on so her part of the room was illuminated. Both teen girls went over to their beds. Within an hour Tenten was fast asleep. Sakura was still up. She was trying to adjust to her new home, but it wasn't going to happen overnight. She had a lot on her mind. A lot had happened. She just wished that she could forget it all.
'Better days are coming…'
