Just a Day in the Bunker
Lila popped the lasagna she'd been making into the oven with a sigh. She glanced around the bunker's kitchen. The counter was a mess. There was tomato sauce spilled all over the place and little clumps of cheese that hadn't made it from the bag to the pan. She glanced over at the two demons that had been helping her with making supper. Their faces were covered in tomato sauce and so were their hands and the front of their clothes. Lila groaned at looked over at the towel wrack, glaring at it. It was empty. She'd forgotten to ask Dean where the towels were too because of all the excitement going on with the new computer.
"I'm going to go get something to clean up," She told the two demons, picking them up and setting them on the floor. She gave them a few pots and spoons to fiddle with. "Be good." The demons raised a brow at her, but Lila was already hurrying out of the room in search of Dean or someone else that would have an idea where the towels were.
Lila walked through the halls down towards the war room and the library. She guessed that if she was going to find anyone they would be in there. She only had one more turn to take, but stopped outside a door along the way. She frowned, pressing her ear against the door. Hushed whispers and mischievous giggles were coming from the other side.
"Alright, ready?" she heard Gabriel giggle on the other side to someone. Lila looked around herself, but no one else was around. She turned the door knob, deciding she should find out what trouble the archangel was getting into.
The door popped open and Lila realized that it was a bedroom. By the looks of how many books and plaid were in the room it was most definitely Sam's. She glanced around the room, finding Gabe, his brothers, and Charlie perched on the bed. A TV was set up in the room and a familiar theme tune played out of the speakers.
"Um…what are you doing?" Lila questioned while frowning at the four. Charlie held up a finger, shushing her girlfriend. Lila raised a brow. "Charlie –"
"Watch!" Charlie shouted, pointing at the TV screen. Lila snapped her mouth shut. Her eyes shifted from the TV to her girlfriend and her angels. At first, nothing seemed to happen. The angels sat silently beside each other with their eyes closed and Charlie bounced excitedly on the balls of her feet by the TV. Though she couldn't see it, the angels' grace was pouring out and hitting the TV currently playing an episode of Doctor Who.
Light flashed and suddenly the two girls and the angels weren't the only ones in the room. The tenth Doctor and Martha Jones stood in front of the TV looking around with wide eyes. Lila's eyes bulged as she stared at the two TV characters.
"Woah. Can…can you guys make any character hop out of the TV?"
Charlie chuckled. "Yep, but right now…" Charlie looked the Doctor and Martha up and down. "We have the Doctor and Martha Jones." Martha frowned at her, her face laced in just as much confusion as the Doctor's.
"Wait, how do you know our names?" she questioned.
"Oh, uh…" Charlie shrugged. "Good guess?" Martha's eyes slit. She clearly wasn't buying it.
The sound of fingers snapping cracked throughout the room. Once again the angels grace poured out, but instead of attacking the TV, it hit the angels. Grey slowly ran up their skin and stretched out over their wings. In a matter of seconds, the three were in their weeping angel outfits.
The Doctor's eyes widened and his body stiffened. "Whatever you do…" he began. "Don't blink," he said in a hushed voice.
"He said it!" Charlie squealed, hopping up and down.
Martha frowned at her. "Said what?" she questioned. Her eyes skimmed around. "Doctor where are we?"
"I'm not sure," the Doctor admitted. "We were in the TARDIS. Nothing should have been able to get us out." He frowned at the still angels in front of him. "Even weeping angels." The Doctor was silent then as he stared at the angels along with Martha. He let out a big breath and his hand wound around his companion's.
"Run!" he cried, pulling Martha out of the room. Lila raised a brow and followed them with Charlie at her side. The Doctor ushered them into the kitchen and slammed the door before the angels could get in. He let out a sigh and looked through the key hole of the door, gasping when Balthazar stared back. He flew back, looking to Martha. "We have to get to the TARDIS," the Doctor told her. "We can't let them get their hands on –"
"Abby! Crowley!" Lila cried, drowning out the Doctor's words. All focus left the Time Lord and fell upon Lila and the two demons. Crowley and Abaddon were currently hitting each other with the spoons Lila had given them earlier. "Seriously? You two couldn't be good for one second?"
"Well, they are demons!" Balthazar shouted through the door. The Doctor and Martha stared at the door with wide eyes.
"What kind of weeping angel talks?" Martha gasped, looking to the Doctor expectantly. The Doctor was silent, eyes bulging as he stared at the door.
"They're not real weeping angels," Lila reassured before he could have a mental breakdown. "They're just dressed up in costumes." Lila pulled open the door, finding Cas, Balthazar, and Gabriel glaring up at her.
"Lila!" the angels cried, dropping their act. Their costumes vanished, including the paint from their skin and wings. "You ruined it!"
"I didn't ruin it. You three know weeping angels don't talk."
"What if I was Angel Bob?" Balthazar confronted.
"This Doctor doesn't know who Bob is. You're thinking eleven," Lila corrected.
"Time travel, Lila," Charlie reminded her girlfriend. "You never know. Maybe the tenth Doctor did run into Angel Bob –"
"Hold up!" Martha shouted. "What's going on?"
"Oh, sorry," Charlie hummed. "I'm Charlie and this is my girlfriend Lila." She waved a hand at herself and Lila quickly. "And these three are our angels Gabriel, Balthazar, and Castiel. They brought you here with their powers."
"Very funny," the Doctor chuckled.
"It's true," Lila insisted.
"Angels aren't real. Well, angels as in religion. Weeping angels, now those are real." He bent down, meeting the three angels' eyes. "The question now is: what does that make you? Some form of winged alien?" The angels snorted.
"How could someone that met 'Satan' not believe in angels?" Balthazar questioned. The doctor's eyes darkened.
"How do you know about that?"
"Too much television," Gabriel explained. "Also, Satan's true form doesn't really look like that. He's much bigger." Lila frowned and looked at the angel.
"Wait…Lucifer actually looks like that? Your cute little brother?" Gabriel shrugged.
"Well not like that exactly," he admitted.
"Yeah," Balthazar agreed, bobbing his head up and down. "We never understood where you humans came up with the horns and pointy tail."
"Guess we're a little over imaginative," Lila huffed. She glanced back at Martha and the Doctor. The two were staring at them like they were all crazy. Lila shook her head. She didn't think it had been this hard for her to understand when she found out. Actually, she liked to think she took it quite well.
"So now what?" Balthazar questioned, thrusting his hands into the pockets of his dark hoodie. "With all our grace combined they should be here for at least an hour, but…" Balthazar's eyes skimmed to Castiel. The angel looked slightly paler than usual and he was leaning against a chair for support. "...but Cassie might pass out before then," Balthazar revealed.
"I'm okay," Castiel reassured. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, looking up at Martha. He held his arms up and Martha frowned.
"What –Oh…" Martha bent down, picking Castiel up into her arms. Cas sighed, glad to be off his feet. He rested a head against Martha's shoulder and fought with himself to keep his eyes open. Lila picked Crowley and Abaddon.
"You guys don't happen to know where the bathroom is, do you?" she asked Gabriel and Balthazar. The two nodded and rushed out of the kitchen. They pointed down the long stretch of hall, rattling off directions to the bathroom they'd discovered near the shower room. Lila waved at them and hurried down the hall with the demons struggling in her hold.
It had taken a while, but Lila eventually got Crowley and Abaddon cleaned up and into some clean clothes Sam had picked up at a store nearby. She carried the two bickering demons back to the library, finding the entire clan lounging around. Dean was seated at the head of the table with Cas tucked in his arms. They were watching the Three Stooges and laughing at the funny trio on the screen. Gabriel and Balthy were hovering by a wide eyed Martha. Kevin, Sam, and Charlie were with the Doctor, looking over some old books like the nerds they were. Then there was Bobby Singer. The old hunter was seated in a chair a few seats down from Dean, drinking his coffee like there wasn't two TV characters in the same room as him.
Lila released the two demons from her arms and let them crawl along the library floor. The two headed right for Gabriel and Balthazar to start up some trouble. Lila walked over to the table and pulled up a chair next to Bobby. The hunter gave her a nod when she took a seat. He pushed over a plate Lila had failed to notice before. A mound of chocolate chip cookies were piled on the plate.
"Made 'em while you were busy cleaning up Thing 1 and 2," he explained. "Took care of your lasagna and the mess too."
"Thanks, Bobby,' Lila said with a smile. She took a cookie from the plate and popped it into her mouth. She thought about going to retrieve the lasagna and a few plates so they could start supper, but Lila decided against it at the moment. Instead, she settled with sitting with Bobby and watching the others chatter and laugh with one another. Lila popped another cookie in her mouth and thought about how happy she was that she had taken the whole angel thing well. If she hadn't she would've missed out on everything. She would have never gotten to see Commodore 64 or the bunker. Most importantly, she would have missed out on spending her days with Charlie and her crazy family. Lila couldn't imagine a world without them or the characters the angels managed to zap out of Sam's TV.
