Bee Mine
Dean glared with sleep blurry eyes into the bunker's library. Dean liked taking naps. It was something he picked up on as a kid when he only got four hours a night if he was lucky. When he could he'd take a nap while either John or Sammy did re-search or went on a food run. When the angels became babies Dean still took naps, but not because he was catching up on sleep or something like that. He took naps with the angels just to cuddle with them or so they weren't alone. Dean liked naps. They were the best, but they also had their downsides. Something always happened while Dean was curled up in a blanket and nestled against a pillow. Sometimes that something was bad and sometimes it was something really bad. Dean wasn't sure what category the sight greeting him in the bunker's library was filed under, but it definitely wasn't something he wanted to deal with after having such a peaceful time on the couch with a sleeping Crowley and Abaddon.
A swarm of bees was currently making themselves at home in the bunker's library. They sat on the pile of books Sam forgot to put away after a night of light reading. The tray of cookies Benny had set out for those passing by was now also covered in sugar hungry bees.
Castiel had been left alone for less than a minute and somehow the angel had managed to get every bee in Kansas in the bunker. Dean didn't know what it was about the little bugs that made Cas so happy. It could be their fat little yellow and black bodies or their tiny wings. For all Dean knew Cas knew some bazillion year old secret about them. Whatever it was Dean didn't really care. All he cared about at the moment was the bees leaving.
"Cas!" Dean called, voice reverberating throughout the bunker halls. "Cas, get your feathery ass in here!"
The soft flutter of wings sounded behind the hunter and Dean slowly turned. He eyed the empty space behind him, searching for the angel that had just flown in. He called out for a third time and Cas slowly popped his head out from behind a book shelf. The angel smiled at him, nose and eyes crinkling as he did.
"Hello, Dean." Dean didn't smile back. He ignored the cuteness of Cas' smile and kept his frown set. The hunter pointed up at the black swarm hovering and buzzing above his head.
"Care to explain, bee boy?" Cas looked up at the bees and his grin grew.
"Oh, I thought they would make nice pets so I brought them in," Castiel explained simply. He reached out a hand and a bee landed in his palm. Dean dropped his head into his hands and let out a loud groan.
"You're killing me, Cas," he muttered, voice slightly muffled since his face was covered. Cas tilted his head in confusion.
"I am not –"
"Figure of speech, angel," Dean explained quickly before Cas could finish. He raised his head and let out another sigh as he stared at the bugs taking up most of the library. Dean pointed at the bees and raised a brow at his angel. "Seriously, dude, they can't stay." Cas' face fell.
"Oh," he said sadly. "But –"
"No," Dean said with finality. Cas' blue eyes widened and Dean swallowed hard. It felt like he'd just kicked a puppy. "No," Dean repeated. Cas lowered his head sadly.
"Bees are nice though," the angel whimpered. Dean groaned; staring up at the ceiling and glaring at what he hoped was God sitting somewhere up in the clouds. He lowered his head after a good fifteen seconds and strolled over to the upset angel. He knelt down, setting a hand atop Castiel's head. Cas lifted his head, staring up at the hunter.
"I know they're…nice," Dean stated, glancing at the corner of his eye at the fat yellow and black bugs. "They can't stay in here though, Cas. This isn't they're home. They like flowers and big trees that they can build their hives in." Dean waved his free hand at the library. Sure, there's tons of wood in here, but not the kind bees like. Yeah, we can bring flowers in for them, but that's not the same, Cas. They're home is outside just like your home is in here with me and the others." Dean ruffled the mess of hair atop Cas' head. "Okay?" Cas glanced around the library, watching the bees buzz along the shelves and tables.
"Okay," Castiel agreed. Dean's shoulders slumped in relief and he pulled his hand back from the angel. Cas started tapping his feet on the floor then and Dean frowned in confusion. Why was Cas dancing?
"Uh…Cas? What are you doing?"
"On the Magic School Bus they said that bees communicate by dancing," Castiel explained. "I am telling them to follow me." Dean opened and closed his mouth once or twice before shaking his head and deciding that he wasn't going to question the angel. He just sat down at the library table and watched Cas dance around. After about five minutes the bees suddenly swarmed around the little angel. Cas started leading them towards the war room and every single bee followed, bobbing and weaving along with the angel. Dean didn't know what to think of what was going on in front of him. He just watched, marveling at the sight until Cas disappeared into the war room with his army of bees.
Benny walked into the library with Rachel in his arms then, humming a soft tune to the giggling angel. He stepped up to the table and smirked at the empty plate he had only set out minutes ago.
"Brother, you should join one of those food eating competitions." The vampire turned and exited the room with Rachel and the cookie plate in hand, heading back to the kitchen to fill up the plate again. Dean leaned back against his chair and closed his eyes, freezing when his ears picked up the softest humming of a bumble bee. No, not just one bumble bee –a whole war room full.
"Cas, outside means the actual outdoors!" he shouted, pushing himself off his chair and marching towards the war room. "It does not mean outside the library."
"But, Dean!"
Thanks, The Mysterious Shadow, for the request! I'm off of school so I have tons of free time today before I go to see Crimson Peak with a friend of mine later. I've been writing like crazy today so you guys get at least two chapters this week instead of only one. Sorry about skimping out on chapters lately by the way. Classes have been crazy and homecoming didn't help.

Jaden Xiang (guest) –of course you can request a demon baby going to the Starks.
Guest – I'd love to write something for Dominion. I actually watch it, but haven't gotten the chance to catch up on it what with school and all that. Why did they cancel it?! Ugh…first In the Flesh, then Constantine and Hannibal, and now this. What is this world coming to?
