Pool Party

Wheels clicked silently through the halls of the bunker. Balthazar was taking a little afternoon stroll with a wagon rattling behind him. In the wagon was a jumble of blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and little Rachel. She was dressed in a little tiara and a princess dress Kali had gotten her after a run to store with Sam the other day. Now, with the help of one of her favorite big brothers she was on a journey to a distant kingdom for a regal ball.

"Almost there, Princes Rachel," Balthazar called over his shoulder as he took another turn down the hall. Rachel let out a little cheer and hugged one of her stuffed animals tight. Balthazar laughed and pulled up to a big door at the end of the hall. He pushed at it and the door swung open to reveal a dark room. Balthazar frowned and entered the room cautiously. He looked around, eyes taking in the numerous shelves packed with boxes, crates, and jars.

"Uh…Balty?" Rachel called from the wagon.

"Yeah, Rachel?"

"Dis isn't the ball."

"My apologies, Princess," Balthazar said as he turned on his heal to face his little sister. "It looks like we're taking a little detour." Rachel gave a little shrug and flopped back into the mass of pillows and stuffed animals surrounding her.

"Okay," she said and Balthazar let out a relieved sigh. He stepped back from the wagon and pattered around the little storage room. It was slightly bigger than the others Balthazar and the others had explored since finding the bunker and it looked like it held a mix of personal object and old relics.

"We'll have to tell your loyal knights about this place when we get to the ball," Balthazar called over his shoulder at Rachel. He peaked through a few shelves, taking in the clutter until his eyes fell upon something he didn't expect. A blue kiddie pool sat on the bottom shelf filled with old vinyl records. "Woah," Balthazar gasped. He pulled the old records out of the pool and rolled it off the shelf. With all of his strength, Balthazar pushed the pool to the wagon where Rachel was waiting. "Hey, Rachel!" Rachel popped up from the mass of pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals. She looked around, eyes bulging as Balthazar waved at the little blue pool he'd found.

"What's that?" she asked. Balthazar grinned.

"A pool, Princess," Balthazar explained. He patted the plastic pool lightly. "How do you feel about a ball in the palace of Atlantis?"

After dragging the pool to one of the large showering rooms of the bunker, Balthazar filled it up with a little help from his siblings. In no time at all it was ready for the fun he and the others had planned for it.

"I got it!" Gabriel cried as he hit the little beach ball he had conjured up with his powers. The ball hurtled towards Crowley and the little demon smacked it, sending it towards Abaddon next.

"Me next! Me next!" Rachel called, raising her hands high above her head. Abaddon turned to her and threw the ball into the air. Rachel reached for it, fingers stretching towards the little orange and yellow ball. Her fingers brushed against its plastic sides, but she was unable to wrap them around it as it came at her. The ball flew overhead, rolling across the tiled floor dotted with puddles of water.

"I got it, Princess!" Balthazar shouted before hopping out of the pool. He hurried across the wet tiled floor. He reached for the ball, grabbing it just as he slipped on a puddle of water. Balthazar let out a small shriek as he flew across the floor. He fell onto his backside and slid across the room into a pile of towels left on the floor.

"Balty!" Everyone cried as they stared at the pile of towels Balthazar had disappeared into. They remained still, waiting for an answer from their brother silently. The towels started to shift and suddenly, Balthazar's grinning face popped up from the mound of towels.

"That…was awesome!" He pushed himself out of the mound of towels and hurried back to the pool. He cupped his hand into the water and splashed some out onto the floor.

"Balthy, what are you doing?" Cas asked after Balthazar splashed three more handfuls of water onto the floor.

"I'm making…" Balthazar bent into a stance. "…a slip and slide!" Balthazar launched at the tiles then, sliding on his belly over the puddles of water. He let out a thrilled laugh as he slid through the shower room and back into the pile of towels he had climbed out of only minutes ago.

"I wanna go!" Abaddon cried, pushing herself out of the pool.

"Me too!" called Crowley.

"Me three," echoed Gabriel. "But…let's pick this up another step." Gabriel waved a hand and grace danced around the room. Their little pool stretched out into a full size pool with a water slide attached. The wet ground suddenly turned dry and an actual slip and slide materialized into view. Gabriel smirked as he took in his handy work. "Who said you can't have a pool party in February, am I right?" The angels and demons cheered in answer and the six dashed to the pool and slip and slide. They slid through the water and squealed as they rolled down the slide into the cool waters of their pool, voices carrying throughout the entire bunker.

Thank you, Classical E. Centric, for the pool request you sent me a while ago.
