Angel Wars
"Come on, Sam," Gabriel's arms were over his chest, fingers tapping lightly against his forearms. "You have to do the voice."
"I don't want to."
"Who's the child here now?" Gabriel rolled his eyes and thrust a finger at the Winchester. "So help me, Sammy, do the voice or I'll mojo it like that forever."
Sam sighed reluctantly. "Fine." He took a deep breath and let it out along with a strange but familiar chortling noise.
Laughter instantly boomed from Gabriel's lips. "There's our Chewy!" Gabriel cried, light glimmering in his golden eyes. "Now how's the rest of our cast doing?" The angel spun on his heel, turning his back on Sam and looking to the rest of his family. They were all crowded in the living room helping each other with the various buckles and straps of their new costumes— their Star Wars costumes.
From what Gabe could see, everyone was doing alright in figuring out their costumes. Vali Skywalker and Kevin Solo were practically finished dressing, both wrapped in their costumes like they were born to wear them. Dean just needed to throw on a black cape yet and Bobby Kenobi was dressed and shoving batteries into the litter of lightsabers scattered along the floor. Then there were, of course, Cas and Balthazar.
Cas stepped out from behind the cape Dean was struggling with and hurried to his brother with arms stretched wide. "How do I look?"
"Like a mogwai," Bobby huffed from somewhere in the mess of fabric and plastic.
Castiel looked towards Bobby, head flopped to the side. "I don't know what that is," he admitted.
"Next movie night we're watching Gremlins," Kevin reassured while lacing up his boots.
"You look fine, Cassie," Gabriel reassured and he ruffled Castiel's fluffier than usual hair. Well, it wasn't his hair. It was actually the hair from the fluffy ewok hat with ears that Cas had sitting atop his head. It was extremely cute on the angel but not as cute as it was on Gabriel of course.
"Why am I an ewok?" Balthazar sat on the floor by Dean's boots, bottom lip quivering in a pout. His hat was tilted off to the side and slightly squished from being stuffed in a box for so long so he looked like a squishy teddy bear. "I wanted to be BB-8."
"Because they're cute and you three look cute as them?" Vali offered, answering Balthy's question.
"Ding! Ding!" Gabriel cried and he waved a hand in the air at his son. "Look at my pride and joy!" Pride practically dripped from his lips as he spoke. "Bet you can't guess where he got his taste from, hmm?"
"BB-8 is cute!" Balthazar argued.
"He's also expensive." Sam pushed past Gabriel and Cas and walked over to the pouting angel. "It would've taken too long to make by hand too." He picked Balthazar up and tickled at the angel's cheek to force a smile. "Next year, okay? How about that?"
Balthazar huffed. "Fine." He poked at Sam's fuzzy costume. "These costumes are gonna be super hot though."
"That's why Vali and I picked up a couple fans." Kevin pulled a tiny blue fan out of the bag sitting between Vali and him on the couch. "It's not much but it should keep you guys from keeling over before the contest starts."
"Speaking of—" Dean glanced at the clock on the living room wall. "We better get into the cars."
The contest was one being held at the convention center in Minneapolis. There was a con going on and of course, the Winchester family was going in style. It had been a while since they last took part in a cosplay contest at a convention. The last one had been when the angels dressed up as weeping angels and boy was that a long time ago.
"I call shotgun!" Vali cried and he bolted off the couch with Kevin racing right behind, the two of them disappearing from the room with soft laughter falling from their lips.
"Last one to Baby is a stormtrooper," Gabriel chuckled, giving his brothers both a large grin before too bolting out of the living room. He dashed through the hallway, hearing Cas and Balthazar flying close behind. "Not gonna beat me that easy—" Gabriel clicked his fingers and one of the lightsabers Bobby had been filling up with batteries appeared in his hand. He swung around after a beat, leaping into the air and swiping the plastic toy at his brothers.
Castiel and Balthazar squealed, both diving out of the way before Gabriel could land a blow. They rolled over the hardwood floor, stopping in a crouch.
"Prepare yourself, brother," Balthazar hissed and both he and Castiel clicked their fingers. Their lightsabers appeared in a blink of an eye, each glowing a pulsing color of light. They charged once armed and the hallway soon became a battlefield.
Attack, dodge, defend— it was a cycle they barely broke. They used the cramped space of the hallway to their advantage, leaping off the walls and doing cartwheels over each other in an attempt to get closer to the front door that led to where Bobby's truck and Baby were waiting.
"This has to be the cutest battle ever," Kevin commented. He and Vali were at the front door but had stopped in their rush for shotgun to watch the flying ewok battle. "Please tell me you're taping this?"
Vali nodded, phone up and recording the fluffy battle. "Charlie's going to love this."
"Hey!" Gabriel cried over his shoulder. "Make sure you get my good side!"
"On it!" Vali reassured while giving his dad a thumbs-up with his free hand.
Laughter fluttered through the hall and back in the living room Sam, Bobby, and Dean listened with large smiles on their faces.
"It's gonna be a fun drive," Dean hummed while finally getting his black cape hooked around his shoulders. Bobby tossed him his mask then and Dean caught it, stuffing the Vader mask under his arm. "Well, Chewy?" The older Winchester brother chuckled. "You ready?"
Sam let out a chortled noise in answer and both Dean and Bobby bent over in laughter at the ridiculous sound.
Yeah, It was gonna be a fun drive and a really fun convention.
Thanks, Remember Ember, for the request. I'm more of a trekkie so sorry if this is a little rough. I originally wasn't going to work on any Wee Angel chapters this week since I have finals to study for but I needed my cute baby angels to cheer me up after watching 12x21. I figured you guys could probably use the cheer up too.
