So a lot of this is taken from the episode so I glazed over some parts so I wasn't just copying the dialogue from season 4. Tell me what you guys think!

All On The Table

On the walk back to Haven they shared stories of their adventures although sometimes Qrow cut in and glazed over a few of the details of their adventures. Weiss didn't push it too much, she was far too excited to see a member of her team again. Yang told her how she'd trained at home for a while, received her prosthetic from General Ironwood, and finally hunted down her Mom who was the leader of a bandit clan. They had drifted a little behind Qrow, and as soon as he was a good distance ahead Yang dropped her voice.

"There's something my Mom told me Weiss. She said-" Yang faltered.

"What?"

"She said Ozpin is...magic. That he gave Qrow and my Mom certain powers."

"Powers?" she asked.

"My Mom turned into a bird, Weiss." she dropped her voice even lower, and it was clear not even she could believe what she was saying. "I saw it with my own eyes."

The silence stretched between them as Weiss tried to wrap her head around what Yang was saying. "She said Qrow could do this too?"

"Yeah. Have you seen anything while you two have been fighting?"

She shook her head. "Nothing like that., he barely spends any time around me if he can help it But speaking of Ozpin, there's something you should know."

"Girls, pick up the pace. I want to get there before I die of old age." Qrow's voice cut through the forest.

They jogged to catch up with him but Weiss dropped the topic. She wanted to get some of Yang's opinions on the subject away from Qrow. Yang seemed to understand the conversation was on pause and asked Qrow more questions about Ruby. He ignored most of them, saying she could just ask Ruby herself when they reached the school.

"Fine then, what are you doing at Haven?"

He gave her an annoyed look before sighing. "A few reasons, least of which is there is a shortage of Hunters defending the city."

"What happened to them?"

"No one knows, they disappeared without a trace."

"Well what have you been doing for three months if not finding out?"

"I have a job you know." he shot back.

Qrow remained silent after this, which wasn't a big deal as Haven was now in sight. He led them to the dormitories and the second they walked in he called Ruby's name. At the shout no less than five people walked into the foyer but the red caped girl was indeed in the lead.

Ruby saw her sister and gasped, tears immediately filling her eyes. "Yang. I'm so sorry. I should have stayed with you. I should have-"

Yang ran across the room and scooped her sister into a hug, likewise tearing up as she held her little sister. "I'm so glad you're okay."

"Me too, Yang." she leaned into the hug.

Weiss took her eyes off the embracing sisters to try and quell the tide of tears that rose up behind her eyes. Instead she looked to the other people standing with them. One of them was Oscar and she barely let her eyes graze over him. The others were much more familiar and were all wearing dazzling smiles. Jaune, Nora, and Ren looked very different physically but their presence was as familiar as could be. All four of the other Hunters had new outfits and with a lurch Weiss realized she recognized the bronze trim on Jaune's armor. It somehow felt like their lost friend was in the room with them too.

"Weiss." Ruby's voice cut through her thoughts.

She jerked her head up and saw the two sisters holding their hands out to her to invite her into their embrace. She barely had to think before she ran into the middle of the hug. It felt like bliss to have her friends close to her again after so long dredging around with Qrow and Oscar.

After their reunion they all cooked a meal together in the kitchen, laughing as they recounted their separate adventures. As they sat down at the table and watched Yang and Nora arm wrestle Qrow walked in and leaned on the door frame. Once they were done laughing at Nora's face as Yang detached her arm during their duel, they all settled down as Qrow addressed them.

"You lot done goofing around?"

"Never!" Ruby cried, brandishing her chopsticks at her uncle.

"How have you been putting up with this killjoy, Weiss?" Yang chuckled, nudging Weiss' arm.

"I almost stole his flask." she whispered, earning a snort of laughter in return.

"Why don't we all come into the living room to talk?"

They did as he asked, piling on the couches and chairs and chatting amongst themselves. Weiss was listening to Nora's rendition of their fight with a Geist. Qrow cleared his throat and everyone eventually quieted down.

"Jesus, this is why I stopped teaching." she heard him mumble. "Alright so now that's we're all here let's talk strategy. First I would like to introduce you all to an old friend."

Qrow gestured to Oscar and Weiss took in a sharp breathe. She reached over and squeezed Yang's hand. Here they went.

"We've met Oscar." Ruby seemed a little confused.

And then it happened. A green flash of light and the boy was sitting a little straighter and a presence entered the room. With the strange quality to his voice he sat down and explained everything Weiss had pieced together over the past few weeks.

The Maidens, magic: it was all real. He started by explaining his Semblance and his relationship to the Maidens, then told them the story of Beacon and the truth to Pyrrha's sacrifice. She saw Jaune's hand clench while he told the tale. Finally was a run through of everything Salem and her team had been after at Beacon, what they'd actually accomplished, and what they would be after here in Haven which was mostly the Artifact in the Vault on the grounds. After he was finished talking they lapsed into silence as they absorbed everything. Weiss felt Yang's hand shake underneath hers before her voice rang through the room.

"That's not the whole truth. Tell them what you did to my Mother and Qrow."

Ozpin looked slightly uncomfortable. "Well to be honest, I didn't expect your Mother to give that secret up so easily. She must trust you a great deal."

Yang just glared harder.

"Like the Maidens, I have certain powers I can take advantage of. I gifted the Branwen twins a special power so they didn't have to be burdened by their physical forms. To see more than a normal human. I gave them the ability to...turn into birds."

If the room was quiet before, it was a ghost town now. Nora was the first to speak up. "Now you're just messing with us."

"No, I've seen it." Yang's voice had a dangerous edge to it. "My Mom…"

"We chose this, Yang." Qrow was looking directly at his niece. "We both chose it."

"It was never my intention to withhold the truth from you Yang. As you can see, you hardly would have believed me anyway."

"That doesn't make it right." she glared.

"No, no it doesn't." he conceded.

She stood up and for a split second Weiss thought she was going to punch the younger boy. But she just sighed and turned her lilac eyes on him instead. "If Ruby will fight beside you, then so will I. One thing I've learned is that, somehow, she always seems to know what the right thing to do is. But if we're going to do this- if my sister- is going to be putting her life on the line for you, then we need to get something straight: no more lies. No more half truths."

Qrow and Oscar shared a glance before the boy nodded at Yang. "Understood."

After that Ozpin left the boy's body and they slowly dispersed. Weiss motioned to Yang to follow her and they walked back to the room the three members of RWBY were sharing. Yang sat on her bed and the silence lengthened as they organized their thoughts.

"Any news on Blake?" Yang asked suddenly.

"No. We just got here a couple days ago. I didn't even see Ruby and them again until you did. I'm sure she's just taking some time to figure herself out."

She tried to keep the pacifistic tone out of her voice but clearly not well because Yang picked up on it. "I know she's our teammate, but I'm not Ruby. I can't just immediately forgive her for leaving us. We spent so long together and I thought we were friends. But friends don't just leave you." she looked up and noted Weiss' silence. "I'm sorry, Weiss. I just don't think you know what it's like to be left."

Weiss took a deep breathe. "When I was ten, my Father finally told my Mother what we had really known all along: he'd only married her for the family name."

Yang's eyes widened as Weiss gave her the condensed version of her childhood, breezing past the years of tears and torment she'd gone through. At the end of her speech she sat next to Yang.

"I don't know loneliness like you, Yang. I have my own version. And I'm sure Blake does too."

"But she doesn't have to." yang growled. "She has friends who want to be there for her. She just won't let them."

"Think about it, Yang. She did let us in. She told us about her being a Faunus. She told us of her past. And immediately after that it came back to haunt her. Someone she cared about got hurt because of her." Yang opened her mouth to speak but Weiss held up a hand. "I know you don't blame her, and I don't believe she thinks you do. I think she blames herself. Just like I don't know what you're going through, we don't know what she is going through either. All I know is she is my friend, and when she comes back I'll be here for her. And I'm here for you too."

Yang gave a heavy sigh. "Can I tell you something without you telling anyone else?"

"Of course."

"I don't think I trust Ozpin anymore." she barely whispered.

Weiss nodded and looked at her shoes. "I feel the same way, Yang."

"I can't help but feel like he's just manipulating all of us to his own ends. You heard his story, you saw Jaune's face. He tried to get Pyrrha to take the Maiden's powers and look where it got her."

"I agree with you Yang and I can't help but feel a little irked with him myself, but he's the best chance we have at understanding Salem and her movements. He knows her better than any of us."

"I know, I just had to get it off my chest." her hair splayed around her as she fell back onto the mattress. "And that thing he can do? It's unnatural."

"I didn't take to him when we first met him either. I was actually rather cold to him when I found out who he was."

"You, the Ice Queen, cold?" Yang shot her a glance.

"You're so funny, you know that?" Weiss rolled her eyes. "But we have to remember Oscar didn't ask for this, he's just as innocent as any bystander. He wasn't there for Beacon and he's not the one that manipulated Pyrrha. Qrow got mad at how I was treating him and reminded me rather forcefully of that fact."

"I know that, it just makes my skin crawl. And the way Qrow just bends to his will every time."

Weiss laid next to Yang and watched the sunset rays travel down the wall. "It's just important we keep in mind they're two separate people. But that doesn't mean we have to like both."

A knock sounded on the door and they both sat up to see Ruby poking her head in. "I've been looking for you two."

"Just catching up." Yang patted the bed next to her.

"Qrow says you and Oscar got into all kinds of trouble while you were out traveling." Ruby flopped between the two of them before turning to Weiss.

"I guess you could say that."

"I think it's so cool the thing with Oscar, isn't it?"

"Cool?" Weiss raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah! And he's so interesting! We didn't meet a lot of people while we were out. It's nice to make new friends."

"It doesn't...bother you?" Yang probed.

"Why would it?"

"Well he was there that night. With Pyrrha."

Ruby shook her head. "Jaune told us what happened. Ozpin tried to hold Cinder back before everything happened."

"Yeah, but-"

"Ozpin didn't kill Pyrrha, Yang." Ruby said softly. "Cinder did that."

"Yeah, I guess you're right, little red." Yang rubbed her sister's hair.

As she wrestled with her sister she met Weiss' eyes for a brief second and she knew Yang hadn't changed her mind one bit. And to be honest, neither had she.
