Hi! I am so sorry to anyone who reads this who was waiting for an update. I got bored of writing and took a long hiatus. But its 2019 and I figure a new year and a new me. Maybe I'll actually get some of these finished. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
Gus sighs again but doesn't say a word as Lassiter flips through the channels. The detective soon settles on a channel as a movie begins. Gus gives a third sigh but doesn't respond to the long movie that Carlton chose. When the movie ends though Gus turns off the television.
"You can't put this off forever Lassiter" he says before Lassiter can respond. "Please Carlton, trust me, I know Shawn is a pain but he does have a good heart" Gus adds.
Carlton sighs this time but stands. "Fine" he grumbles and walks off to find Shawn.
He knocks on Shawn's door and Shawn says enter. "Damn, thought you'd be Gus by now" he mutters.
"Sorry to disappoint you Spencer"
"You don't have to stay Lassie, I know you don't care if I really do get killed" Shawn replies.
Lassiter just shakes his head in reply. "Look, I did miss you Spencer and...well..."
Shawn chuckles as Lassiter trails off. "So you really did miss me for real then" he says in an amused tone. Carlton gives a small nod.
"Since I met you I knew you'd be a pain in the ass but..."
"But I grew on you didn't I?" Shawn asks.
"Like a toenail fungus" Carlton mutters.
Shawn gives another playful smirk. "Gus made you apologize didn't he?" he says and Carlton shrugs. "Yes and no" he admits. "He suggested I apologize but he can't force me to do anything I don't wish to do" he adds.
Shawn nods at that. "True, well thanks anyway" he says.
"I will say you made a cute little girl Spencer and I am glad you and you're family are safe"
"For now Lassie" Shawn replies and Carlton shakes his head. "You're not dying on my watch Shawn" he says. "Thanks" Shawn says again and Carlton could see he really was scared.
"I mean it Shawn" he says and gets a nod.
"It's not that Lassie" he murmurs. "What if she never forgives me?" he asks.
"You mean Juliet?" Carlton asks and gets a nod. "I think she will you just gotta give her time" he adds.
"Yeah" Shawn murmurs. Carlton gives a sigh as he sees how truly bummed out the kid is. 'Damn these people made me soft' he thinks in disgust. But the truth was Carlton was happy to hear Shawn was alive. He was really smart and Carlton actually missed him being around.
"All right Spencer this is a one time offer" he says and Shawn gives him a confused look. Carlton just opens his arms and Shawn grins.
"Aw you really do care Lassie" he says happily. He excitedly hugs Carlton like a boy hugging a giant teddy bear. Carlton rolls his eyes as he hugs Shawn back.
"Okay that's enough" he says after about twenty seconds of hugging. Shawn pouts a little as he pulls away but he does feel a little better.
"Now tell Guster to get off my back" he says as he walks out of the room. "Will do buddy and thanks" Shawn replies.
