Chapter Fifteen:

Stone City Colorado November 5, 2018:

Stephan watched as the final runes were put into place and the smoking man along with his kind were dealt with. Say what you will about the current president,( and Stephan had a lot to say), he did allow this, this final act in a long twisted tale to finally end WWII. For yes, though the books and such said that war was over, it had not ended really as many of those in the Third Reich had got away and formed an evil so great it would take a long time to recover even with those responsible taken care of. Presidents before had done what they could, and perhaps none would know what happened here, but the war was over and those responsible would never rise again.

A young man walked up, his hair was a birds nest of black, piercing green eyes could be seen behind small round glasses, a neatly trimmed beard was on his face. He was clad in the uniform of a royal Marine, he was part of the mage division, an unspeakable (though that was not known here). This was Harry Potter, husband to Ginny Potter nee Weasley, father to James Sirius Fleamont Potter, Albus Severus Black Potter and Lily Luna Evans Potter. Three powerful children, one of whom was in Slytherin and with the new reforms happy and accepted at the school (then again with the reforms set all houses had to mingle and work together) and accepted by his father. He was a Parselmouth and was taking healing. Harry knew exactly who Stephan was which was why they were meeting here, far from everyone to talk with privacy charms up.

"I am sorry, for all I did." Stephan said, "I regret what happened, your mother never got to raise you, to nurture you. I caused that, and what did I get? I got a family, a wife and children I still don't think I deserve. I have had days, months and years I feel I do but the old guilt comes back."

"It's not your fault sir, that prophecy would have got to him no matter what. What you did was allow her to find a way to save me." Harry said, "yes she did not get to raise me but she was there when I was growing up, in the teachers that nurtured me at school, in Mrs. Figg who helped me learn to pretend to hate visiting her house, she helped raise me, taught me French and German and penmanship. I should have been worse with a quill and would have been but for her. She taught me piano and hung my art on her fridge. I was loved, maybe not by my aunt or uncle but they dared not beat me or starve me, threaten to, but never truly did."

"You deserved to grow up happy." Stephan said.

"I was happy, I had people that cared, Mrs. Figg did as I said, as did my teachers." Harry said, "and deep down I always had this feeling of being loved, my mum you see was with me even if I did not know it."

"Still, what I did, I turned from your mother, that was my fault." Stephan said, "I turned to the dark."

"But you turned back, and it looks like you never did go dark again, do you use the dark arts?"

"No, I am a healer now, I heal people and work with the FBI like now." Stephan replied.

"Look of you want forgiveness then I forgive you, but I feel you are a good man, you are not guilty of all that death you think you are." Harry said.

"You are so much like your grandparents, Merlin I can hear them in you." Stephan said, "your grandmother Rose and grandfather Henry were that way too."

"Well I am Christian too, and it is freeing to forgive, makes the soul lighter." Harry replied.

"My children are as well, I am not fully understanding why but I respect that is what they want." Stephan replied.

He still felt if there were a heaven he would not see it, but he would live a good life so his children and wife had a chance. He had done too much evil in his past life to ever be redeemed even if Melissa to him he was a good man. Stephan did not fully believe that and here Harry Potter was telling him he was forgiven and that he did not blame him at all. Stephen canceled the charms and headed to the cave where the last of the evil syndicate was locked up. They would believe they were still free and still influencing everything and in contact with the outside world. Yet never again would they ever be able to harm another being. Here too were the aliens, and they looked much as the popular culture had them look. Though they were clad in clothes, some in robes others in what looked like spacesuits.

"It is done?" Mulder asked.

"Yes, completely." Harry replied, "no need to worry about them anymore."

"Good." One of the aliens said, "we will be monitoring you, watching, maybe we will contact again."

"The virus is contained?" Stephan asked.

"Yes, fully, you have done well, the future is up to you." The same alien replied. "We will go now, but we will be watching."

"We are sorry." Mulder said walking up, "truly, what my family did."

"What they did was done, but you have not done what they did." The alien said, "the fight is yours now, and you will do good, we will leave you to this thing."

The aliens left and Stephan relaxed slightly. At least one threat was taken care of, he needed to get home, to his family and enjoy his time with them. Seeing Harry Potter had helped close part of his old wounds but he still had a ways to go. He headed out on a plane home on a cold day and an hour after leaving he entered his home to find Melissa waiting for him.

"Well, I am home." He said.
