Fearing she may never walk the lands of Radiam again, Ezzy bid goodbye to the Bar, and decided to have a clean break of marriage to Seth the Bard. Seth had been Ezzy's childhood friend, and the marriage was an extension of their loving friendship. As much as it stung to break off the marriage, the two friends promised each other to remain in touch, and move on in life. Deep down however, Ezzy knew this was the last she would hear from her beloved.
After many tears, few too many drinks for some, Ezzy was off to sleep in her mansion for the last time. Seth promised to keep care of the mansion. Awakening at the first light of dawn, Ezzy headed to the main guild halls of The Hallowed Guard. Here she spent many hours crafting a new Long Bow and Steel Armor. Stopping by the marketplace, she purchased a new backpack, arrows, and a faithful steed known as Kraken.
Riding gallantly into the crisp autumn afternoon, Ezzy paid not attention to the creepy, off color fog settling in at the edge of town. Knowing the forest was full of dangerous monsters, and other dangerous powers that be, Ezzy went from trot to gallop. Shortly before dark, Ezzy reached the bridge which separated Radiam from other lands, including ones which were home of the Fabled Ice Dragon, a dragon rumored to be far mightier than the Green Dragon.
Arriving at the Edge of Town, as it was known, a far more displeasurable sort of folk roamed. Here thieves, beggars, and bounty hunters would wait for any sort of work, or for wealthier folk to pass through. Ezzy headed over to the Dark Tavern to secure a room for the evening.
Finding a seat near the edge of the bar, Ezzy ordered a rum and some food. She listened to the tales of travelers heading into Radiam from... Folklore?! "It does exist!" Tales told of a magic surrounding the town and castle, along with a powerful and dakr force of magic, which causes anyone who entetrs the area to disappear.
What she did not realize, as she was entranced in the tales of wonder and horror, were some of the Kings soldiers had entered the tavern. The tavern went silent, as everyone stared at the soldiers in shock and awe. Appearing as if they had seen an apparition, engaged in bloody battle, they were shivering, confused, and scared. One of the stablehands was further from the confusion, and spoke of a great, powerful wizard appearing, wearing armor no one had seen the likes of. "The armor looked to be taken from the dragon skin and bones."
Casper had been trailing this old man wearing skin and bones of dragon, along with two other soldiers. The man turned around, hearing the commotion behind and a bright light flashed out. Two of the soldiers were transformed into...females? Casper, blinded, tripped over a rock, becoming unconscious. In a distant land, a tiny island was trying to unbury itself from a non-stop ash rain, which had been falling since the great Red Mountain awoke.
