"Shhh it's okay, were going to go back to the car, it's fine we've got this, you wanted a home birth didn't you?" R says slowly.
"I wanted a home birth, not a backseat birth idiot nothing about this is okay!" Juliet yells.
"Hey, he's right, if anyone can handle this it's us, how many babies did we deliver healthily while running from flesh eaters, um no offense R." Nora says finally calming.
"Four." She answers calming.
"Okay, so lets get back to the car and - there is the little girl!" Nora says seeing the girl in the middle of the road.
"You go ahead and go talk to her, I've got her." R says motioning for her to go ahead.
The nurse runs on ahead, and slowly approaches the shaking little girl, tears are pouring from her blue eyes.
"Hey, your okay, my friend over there killed that monster."
"Really?" She asks biting her lip.
"Yeah, where are your parents?" Nora asks gently.
"Dead, it killed them, permanently." she says more tears streaming from her eyes.
"Well, how about you come with us?" The brunette asks holding out her hand.
The girl who looks about five or six, with long brown hair still wearing her teddy bear Pjs and flats, hesitates then takes her hand finally.
About the time they start walking, they here Juliet make a noise behind them.
"Is your friend okay?" the little girl asks.
"Uh yeah, what's your name?" Nora asks distracting her.
"My name is Naomi, my momma named me after her mommy." she says still looking back at the couple, "You said your friend is in labor, is she having a baby, my momma had a baby."
"Wow really, was it a boy or a girl."
"I don't know it died, daddy wouldn't let us see it." She answers honestly.
"Wow, well yes, my friend is having a baby." Nora says forgetting this girls innocence is somewhat tainted by the previous zombie apocalypse.
"Is it going to die?" Naomi asks biting her lip.
"No, Naomi I'm a nurse, I've delivered so many babies in more stressful environments then this." Nora answers smiling.
Finally they make it to the car Juliet and R aren't to far behind them, stopping every five minuets or so for a contraction.
Once the couple catch up, Nora hands R a bottle of water.
"Won't we need this?" R asks looking at the bottle.
"No, fortunate for you guys, I packed a 24 pack of water, some Cliff bars, two gallons of water and a huge first aid kit." Nora says smiling.
The couple look at there friend amazed.
"Hey, this is light packing, I still have some apocalyptic habits remaining."
"Well, my habits stayed at home.." Juliet says then she makes a pained noise.
R pulls her in towards his chest, standing there he rubs her back gently, then he opens the water in his hand and gives it to her.
She takes a small sip, and hand it back to him, he too takes a drink then sits it back on the tailgate of the car.
"Okay, I'm guessing at this but I think your in the first stage of labor, your contractions are about five mins apart right? " the nurse says her medical knowledge kicking into gear.
Juliet nods.
