Rufus Shin-ra's p.o.v:
Goddamnit why'd he have to be such a fucking tease? Excuse my language viewing audience, I cannot help myself on this occasion. Tseng is just so beautiful and perfect and I honestly don't think he knows how much it drives me insane. Seeing him have so much control over the Turks is possibly the most arousing quality about him. That and everything else, but we'll get to that in a moment.
In the meantime, I need to stop focusing on how much I want to fuck him against this desk and get back to the paperwork still sitting on my desk.
Breathing deep a few times, I picked up my pen and resumed my sign-a-thon (Reno's nickname for when he gives me a stack of paperwork and forms that all need signing.) I got through another chunk of the stack, then my focus broke again. I groaned out of frustration, rubbing my temples while I leaned back in my chair. This is starting to irritate me in the worst possible way. I heard a knock at the door and almost snapped until I heard the person speak.
"Sir?"
Goddamnit. This is going to be incredibly awkward until I tell him. And possibly afterwards. "Come in Tseng!"
Tseng pushed the door open, walking in and shutting it quietly. "Am I interrupting Sir?"
I shook my head and sipped at my coffee (have to ask Reno where this "Nitro" place is, this is epic coffee.) "Not at all, have a seat, please."
Tseng looked confused for a moment, then shook his head and sat down at the chair near my desk.
I chuckled quietly and shifted in my chair. "What's the current status of everything?"
Tseng shifted and pulled his phone from his back pocket. "Fifteen new Turks, with your approval they start tomorrow."
I pulled a stack of signed forms from the top left drawer of my desk. "I'll welcome them personally."
Tseng hid a small smirk, placing the papers in a box in his bag. "Alright, to be processed immediately. Hojo needed your input on an experiment he's trying out."
I raised an eyebrow. "Which one? He's got a lot going on right now."
"He mentioned neon green ice cream."
I rested my elbow on the desk. "Oh right, he mentioned it yesterday. I have word from Mr. Sinclair, he's still interested and compliant with going through the experiment."
Tseng nodded. "Excellent. I'll send word to Hojo immediately."
I signed a few more forms before I spoke again. "Very well. Anything else?"
Tseng paused for a moment then shook his head."Negative Sir."
I leaned in a bit, watching Tseng's expression falter for a microsecond. "That does not sound entirely true."
Tseng sighed. "I knew I couldn't put it off any longer."
Okay now I'm confused. "I'm sorry, what were putting off telling me?"
Tseng straightened in his chair. "I have been putting off admitting that I have feelings for you. More on the romantic side."
I sat back in my chair while I folded my hands in my lap. "How long have you've been feeling like this in regards to me?"
Tseng shifted in his seat a bit. "For several years."
I blinked. "Was there something stopping you from telling me?"
Tseng gave me the 'seriously?' look.
I shrugged. "Okay, I admit I'm hard to approach. That doesn't mean I wouldn't have listened."
Tseng looked like something chained to his shoulders just got cut off. "Okay..."
I walked over and leaned on the side of his chair. "What's wrong? You seem highly unsure of something still."
Tseng looked up for a moment. "Its just...I don't want this to be awkward."
I nodded, knowing exactly what and who he was referring to. "Believe me, I know exactly what you're talking about. And trust me, we'll have nothing to worry about."
Tseng let a minor smile grace his face. Only for a moment, but I cherished it nonetheless. "Really Sir?"
I nodded, slipping my arms around his shoulders, rubbing softly. "Yes Tseng, we will be fine."
Tseng nodded, pulling his phone out of his pocket for a moment, frowning as he slipped it back in. "Elena's trying to kill Reno. Again."
I quirked an eyebrow while I sat back at my desk, feeling a headache come on. "Stapler or pencil?"
Tseng cringed slightly. "Envelopes."
I blinked. "Creative. Remind me to never send her to her office supplies when she's pissed."
Tseng laughed(rare sight people.) "Will do. Dismissed?"
I nodded. "Dismissed."
I watched Tseng get up from my chair and walk out, shutting the door behind him. Once I was sure he was out of earshot, I let out a frustrated groan. Goddamnit why did his ass have to be so perfect? He's so fucking innocent, I just want to smash my lips to his every chance I get. I'm just glad he feels the same so it isn't awkward between us.
At least, not as much.
So now is the even more awkward part of all this. Asking him out on a date. Which I may utterly fail at (yes I fail at shit don't judge me.) I haven't had to ask anyone on a romantic date in...well ever. Not exactly the most liked person on the planet. But I did try and destroy the world, so its hated with more than good reason. But Tseng loves me, so that's the important matter here.
I have an idea of who to ask for help on this. As long as she doesn't go full fan girl on me. Which she might, but we'll deal with that when it comes. I sent a text to Elena, asking her to come up to my office. Couldn't ask Reno, he wouldn't keep this secret from Tseng. No, coworker dating advice tip 1: always go to Elena.
A knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts. "Mr. Shin-Ra? I received your message, may I come in?"
I nodded, smirking while Elena walked in and shut the door, giving a salute. "As you are. Please, have a seat, I need your advice on a problem I'm involved in."
Elena's eyes looked like they bugged out of her head for a moment, but she regained her composure and sat in the armchair in front of my desk. "Of course Mr. Shin-Ra, what is the issue?"
I swallowed rather nervously; I hope she doesn't fan girl on me when I tell her this. "I'm in love with Tseng and I need help planning a date for tonight."
Elena blinked in silence for a few moments before she let out a tiny squeal. "Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg I'm so happy you found someone! Little bit awkward that its my boss, but you're happy and that's what counts here."
I sighed out of relief. "Thank the gods, I thought you were going to have a fan girl moment on me."
Elena gave a small smile, crossing her legs in her chair. "No, I knew you had some kind of thing for him, I was just waiting for you to tell him."
I grinned while we immediately jumped into the plans for this date. It ended up being "simple yet elegant" as Elena put it. Tseng had already accepted my offer of a date, meaning I was going to have the best night of my life with the greatest man to ever grace the earth.
Time skip
I adjusted my silver tie, snapping the cufflinks on my onyx blazer. So what if everything I have is monochrome? Monochrome looks fucking badass on me. No one has any more right to judge my choice of dress except Tseng. So keep it to yourself, we'll deal with this after my date is over.
Ding ding ding!
