Cloud's p.o.v:
It was the end of the night at 7th Heaven. It wasn't as busy as usual, but busy enough to be considered a good night. Tifa was counting her sales, I was cleaning tables, and Marlene and Denzel were upstairs sleeping. I couldn't help but notice her stick her pen in the corner of her mouth when she was thinking. It was actually really cute when she did that.
But she doesn't know that. She also doesn't know that I like her either.
I had been trying to tell her for quite some time. But it either came out awkward or I ended up making a complete idiot of myself or I had to save the world. Again. So I basically have the worst timing ever. But now I feel like would be a good time to tell her. I finished the last table and turned to see her closing her book, a small smirk on her face.
"Good night I'm guessing?" I leaned on the counter, wet rag dripping over my shoulder.
Tifa gave me a small smile. "It was awesome. At least you're better keeping up with tables."
I had to chuckle at that. "True, but you make better drinks. I almost killed you with a martini."
Tifa burst out in a fit of giggles. "True, I still remember that."
I sat at a stool. "Anyways, I wanted to ask you something."
Tifa nodded, sitting closer to me. "Yeah sure, what's up?"
I took a very deep breath. "I wanted to ask you...if you liked me."
Tifa turned more towards me. "I do like you, I like you a lot."
I blinked (was not expecting that.) "As a friend or possible love interest?"
Tifa smiled. "Love interest."
Okay my day is now exponentially better than everything up to right now. "Really? You love me?"
Tifa smiled again (so frickin cute.) "Yea."
Oh my god I'm about to hug the shit out of her (and hopefully not break her ribs.) "You've just made me so happy."
Tifa gripped my hand, pulling me into her chest for a hug (pretty nice right now.) "I know, I could see you staring when you thought I wasn't looking."
I took a moment to study her face (as if I haven't done that enough.) Her lips looked so soft and inviting, pale pink from the lipstick she was trying on this morning. It only served to make her all the more beautiful. What I wouldn't give to see a smile shine on her face every moment of every day. She's just so precious to me...
Oh to heck with it!
I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers, mentally sighing in relief when she didn't push me away. Tifa sighed in my mouth, wrapping her arms around my waist to pull me closer. I ran my hands down her back and hair while we kissed, savoring the whiskey left on her tongue from earlier in the evening. We pulled away, silence for a few moments while we simply gazed at each other. And then it came across her face again.
That gorgeous smile.
I wrapped my arms around her and held her close, whispering in her ear while I stroked her hair.
'You are my angel, with you I shall stay, and live with peace and happiness, letting bliss fill all my days.'
