Hey guy! I'm back, I know it's been forever. I had a bit of writter's block, and then I was preoccupied with work and college and life. BUt hopefully I will have my inspiration back and get to posting lots of chapters. I have a few that in the works but they are plot points for later in the story. Anyway here is Chapter 5!
~AngelsPadfoot~
The Full Moon
Everyday for the last week I've been returning to the Meadow in hopes that I would come across Sirius, with no luck. All I was finding were his scent trails. I was starting to think that I would never see him again, and began to explore more of the forest, and I came across a scent that was definitely Sirius', and was well established, meaning he traveled this way often. I followed it in hopes of finding him.
I sensed this draw to him, I don't know why but I feel I need to be near him, like he is pulling me in, my own personal gravity.
I continued to follow his scent and eventually found myself at the edge of the woods looking at the back of a huge mansion, with four floors, and windows covering the entire back side of the building. There was also a small pond and a beautiful garden off to one side, on the opposite side was a covered patio with lounge chairs and a table and double french doors leading into the house. Just beyond where I was standing, was a full sized quidditch pitch, which was obviously hidden from the view of muggles. A shout drew my attention up, to the sky, where two figures were currently wrestling for a quaffle. One had long black hair and upon closer inspection was obviously Sirius and the other had short messy black hair and glasses. The figure with short hair won the grapple for the quaffle and proceeded to speed to his side of the pitch and score.
"Jesus, Padfoot! no wonder you're a beater, that last hit really hurt mate." the short haired figure grumbled as he rubbed his arm and made his way back to where Sirius was hovering.
"Well that's whole point Prongs, hitting hard and being able to take a hit if need be, and you should be able to take a hit harder than that." Sirius smirked pointing at the figure opposite him.
"Stop being such a girl and suck it up," then he lowered his voice so I could barely hear him, "We have an audience." he whispered, and gestured with his head over his shoulder right at me.
Damn, I thought I was well hidden. Might as well come out then.
As they looked to where I was hidden, I walked out of the shadows and onto the pitch. They soared over to me and dismounted, Sirius handed his broom to 'Prongs' saying, "Don't scare her this time James."
" I won't! I don't wanna hear you going on and on about how you can't find her and it's my fault she ran off in the first place." He replied defensively.
I continued to walk forward till I was about 15 feet from them, while Sirius walked the rest of the way.
"Why hello there, I've been looking for you." He said as he reached me. I put my head down and asked with my eyes, "Me? Why were you looking for me?" I didn't know if he would understand, but he did.
"I'm sorry the air head over there scared you off." he chuckled and continued. "And you are one beautiful animal, I'm mesmerised by you. I wanted to see you again." He said softly, then reached out to touch me. As he placed his hand on my nose I blew a soft gust of air into his fingers.
"I guess I'm going to leave you to your moment, I'll be in the house." The 'air head' said to himself and made his way up the lawn to the mansion.
Sirius barely acknowledged his friend, his hand still on my nose. His touch was soft and gentle, his hand warm. I didn't want to move away, but I needed to get back home before I was missed. I blew another gust of air through his fingers, and moved back a step.
"I wish you didn't have to go." He said sadly. I gestured to the woods with my head and turned slowly back the way I came.
"Wait I'll go with you!" and he was suddenly a dog, looking up at me with a toothy grin. I huffed and moved off at a trot down the trail with Sirius at my side. I didn't want him to figure out where I lived, even though he could follow my scent if he wanted to, so I went to the meadow. I pushed through the low hanging branches and stopped looking at him, putting my head down to nudge him softly.
He changed back and said, " Well I assume this is where I leave you?" I nodded, "Okay, meet me tomorrow? Here, at noon?" he asked. I gave another nod, and he placed his hand on my nose again. I blew air through his fingers in farewell, till tomorrow. I stood watching him as he became a dog and trotted off back down the trail, back to his friend.
I met Sirius at the meadow everyday that week, at exactly noon. He chatted, and I listened, he mostly talked about his friends and the pranks they would pull at school. I truly enjoyed his company and I learned that Hogwarts was an amazing place to be, filled with some of the most wonderful people.
Today, right before we parted, he made a strange request. "Nickers," he said, with the nickname that he gave me, " I want you to stay out of forest tonight, it might be dangerous for you out here. And I don't know what I would do if you got hurt. I know its strange, but please, do this for me." His eyes pleading. I cocked my head a bit, a little confused. but blew into his fingers as they rested on my nose, like they often do during our one sided conversations. He took it as consent and stood up from the ground. " I probably won't be around tomorrow, so don't get worried, Okay?" I nodded and we walked to our departing spot, where our trails split and go to our respective homes. " Till next time." He changed and and gave a farewell bark and trotted down his trail. Hmm what a strange request, but I'm going to be busy tonight and tomorrow anyway so I suppose I'll listen to him. He seems to know what he's talking about. I follow my trail the rest of the home and change before I exit the woods. I have a busy day tomorrow, I'm going to Diagon Alley to get my things for Hogwarts.
Despite the fact that I see Sirius everyday at noon in the meadow, I've been returning to the wizard neighborhood, where I literally ran into him while I was running. I want to actually be able to talk to him, even though he wouldn't know with whom he was actually talking to.
When I walked in the house my mom called out, " Angelique dear, you have a letter."
"Oh, who from?" I asked, curious. I walked into the living room to see an owl perched on the back of our couch, the letter still tied to his foot. "I don't know but he wouldn't let me take it off, so I assume he's to wait for a response."
