Rufus's p.o.v:
I can't help but recall last night while I'm continuing with my paperwork. Because that's basically my life: events, meetings, budgets, Turks, and paperwork. Regardless, last night with Reno was splendid. We didn't do anything of that sort, if that's what your thinking. (Pervs.) I had never felt so relaxed with anyone else in my life.
*knock knock*
I cleared my throat. "Come in!"
Tseng stepped in and bowed. "Good morning Sir."
I looked up and smiled. "Good morning Tseng."
Tseng made a confused noise and sat in a chair near my desk. "This is unusual for you Sir."
I shuffled some papers to the side. "I know, normally I'd be bitching at you not to disturb me until I've gotten some form of caffeine in me."
Tseng smiled. "I'm assuming the date you had went well?"
I nodded.
Tseng smiled again. "I'm happy you have someone to spend time with outside of work."
I nodded. "Thank you. Any updates?"
Tseng pulled out a notebook from his bag, adjusting his glasses. "Everything is set for your meeting on Thursday, time is confirmed, security in place. Your shotgun is ready to be picked up, Mr. Sinclair will have it to you by no later than 1pm. Elena is requesting the morning off Tuesday the 23rd of next month for oral surgery, and Rude just sent a text asking how you like your coffee because he's doing the run this week."
I nodded. "Elena's time off is approved, tell Rude to get it with three sugars and extra cinnamon."
Tseng replied to Rude. "Very well. Anything more Sir?"
"That is all, you may return to your assigned tasks."
Tseng nodded and rose from his seat, shutting the door quietly. I chuckled to myself, filing away some more paperwork while I mused about future projects and the utter ridiculous behavior my Turks sometimes exhibited. Don't get me wrong, they are very reliable Turks; dependable, precise, always keeping watch. They're also human and have a few if not many quirks. But since they do their job and mostly keep to themselves, they're just fine to me.
*knock*
"Come in!"
Reno slipped in through the gap and shut the door behind him. "Hello Sir."
I gestured to the chair in front of my desk. "Please, sit."
Reno nodded and perched himself in the seat.
I pushed up my glasses. "Something on your mind?"
A nod and sombre glance was what I received.
I set my paper work to the side and leaned forward a bit. "What's wrong Reno?"
Reno sighed minutely. "Jus been thinkin'."
I took in Reno's posture. "Anything I should be worried about?"
Reno played with his hair. "No sir."
"Reno that's a crock of shit and you know it."
Reno wiped a year from his eye. "I know Sir."
I walked over to Reno and pulled him out of the chair, sitting down on the couch with him. "You can tell me."
Reno laid himself on me. "Been havin' nightmares."
I nodded and combed through his hair. "Past or present?"
Reno sniffled. "Past."
I kissed his cheek. "Want to talk later?"
Reno nodded. "S-S-Sure."
I helped him stand. "You can stop by before you leave and we can head to my place so you can relax."
Reno nodded, clearing his throat. "That would be excellent Sir."
I smiled. "There he is. Was there anything else?"
Reno shook his head. "Negative Sir."
I say back down at my desk. "You may continue on."
Reno walked out, shutting the door briefly before Tseng walked in again. "You sent a message Sir?"
I nodded. "If you can keep an eye on Reno for a bit, that would be splendid."
Tseng raised an eyebrow. "Something wrong?"
I laced my hands together. "Just concerned is all."
Tseng nodded. "Very well Sir."
Tseng retracted from the room, shutting the door once more. I leaned back in my chair and shut my eyes momentarily. All this plot I've gone through, I need a nap.
