No Such Thing
Chapter 19 - Cataclysm
Okay, so right at the end of the last chapter, random attacks started happening out of nowhere. It is unbelievable of how much Dinosaur Land had lost its legs. Obviously, it's not being known at the peaceful place that we know and love. (I'm sorry Super Mario World fans. lol)
So I guess this chapter we'll probably see Yoshi's emotional side even more. Me writing about that might not be perfect, just to warn you. I'd never thought I'd be writing Yoshi like that of all people. Gonna be really difficult here.

"...and ever since the bus incident, Bowser's minions are wreaking even more havoc than ever in Dinosaur Land. Even with Mario and Yoshi's help, they obviously can not fix every problem in sight as it shows."
The camera then turned to a Black Yoshi. "Ma'am, what do you have to say about the future of your homeland?"
"(I don't want that camera around me!)" She cried out of frustration. "(Leave me alone!)"
Using her tail to whip it away, the camera was knocked out of the reporter's hands.
Blue Toad decided to turn off the TV screen as he faced everyone else that was near him. "Okay, I can't take anymore! Bowser might as well just blow up the whole universe with just one big explosion and get it over with if he wanted things to go his way!"
Wendy decided to take a look at Morton, who was for once speechless.
"... ... ..."
"...Morton?"
"...I..."
"When is everyone coming back?" Bowser Jr. asked.
"What do you mean?" The Blue Toad raised an invisible eyebrow. "The only people that are not here are Mario, Yoshi, Peach, and Ludwig, right?"
He shook his head in response. "No, I can't find Iggy and Larry anywhere here. They must have left to join them."
"...And nobody told me anything?"
Luigi suddenly rushed in. "Guys, I'm going to Dinosaur Land. I've heard that they need my help."
"And while you're there, ask around and see if they're considering on taking some of the victims to the Mushroom Kingdom." Blue Toad added. "Clearly they do need us, but I want to make sure first before it gets any worse."
"It already got worse." Bowser Jr. said. "And Iggy and Larry randomly disappeared."
"...Really?"
He nodded back.
"Great..." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "One more problem we have on our plate. How did we miss them?"
"That's it." Morton put his hands in the air before making his way out of the room. "Let's all just good look for 'em while we can."
"Stay right here, Morton!" Blue Toad pointed at the floor. "We can't afford to have all eight of you in different places. It's best for us to stay here until Peach comes back at least. That way we can figure out a game plan."
"So what?" Roy suddenly walked in with folded arms. "We're all just gonna sit here?"
"Well, we don't wanna take too many risks this early on." Toadsworth admitted. "Ludwig is already out, and now we have no idea where Iggy and Larry are. Somebody should have watched them."
"It's not our fault we didn't know they were gonna leave!" Wendy defended. "Maybe they're with Yoshi or something."
"Where is Yoshi?"
With everyone glancing around the room in silence, Roy ended up being the one to break it. "Okay, do we need to do a roll call to see who's still here or something!?"
Back in Dinosaur Land, one would call another a fool if he or she actually assumed everything was all fine and dandy, unless he or she somehow thought of it as a simple April Fools joke.
Nonetheless, it was wrong to make fun of the current situation either way, especially due to the unfortunate incident in regards to what happened at the four way intersection. The amount of chaos at the time was far too blatant to ignore. Thus, groups of dozens of Dinosaur Land inhabitants were intervening in every way they can, making Mario having no choice but to step back.
"C'mon, Yoshi." He stated with the most saddened look on his face. "Let's go somewhere to see how much more people we can... Yoshi? ...Where'd you go?"
Asking around, the red-capped plumber ended up performing a complete turn around just to head in the direction people claimed his green dinosaur friend was located, which was near a fallen tree trunk that narrowly missed a person's house. Yoshi himself happened to be sitting on it.
Mario placed a hand on his shoulder. "C'mon. We can't waste any more time here. There is more than enough people to help with the accident. They don't want us to step in... Yoshi?"
He watched him slowly turn around, only to be met with eyes completely overwhelmed with tears.

Luigi was found running as fast as he could while asking around in search of his brother and friend. Some had no clue, some had some sort of idea, but a few knew exactly where they were.
It took him quite some time to be in the same area they were to be found in. He widened his eyes when he saw them at long last. The two were being seen fleeing the same four way intersection.
"MARIO!"
It took a few tries for Luigi's voice to finally reach Mario's ear. Promptly turning around, his eyes widened his brother showed up.
"What are you doing here?" He immediately questioned.
"I figured I'd come here to help." Luigi elaborated. "It took a good forty-five minutes to arrive here. ...Yoshi?"
"He's extremely upset right now. We both saw the accident." Mario recalled. "...There quite a couple dozen victims... And quite a few casualties... We tried helping them, but they already got everything under control."
"...How many of the victims are gonna... make it?" Luigi's voice lowered.
"...They're still counting... But I know that Dinosaur Land will not be the same for a long while."
Luigi had the most disturbed expression written on his face.
"LOOK OUT!"
Him, Mario, and Yoshi all suddenly glanced at the sky to see the absolute last thing they desired to.
Bowser's airship.
Not even given a chance to speak, bullet bills began flying out of nowhere in all different directions. There were Bull's Eye Bills as well to add on the disastrous Dinosaur Land.
Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi all took off to wherever was the safest spot. But the thing was, there were literally no places to hide at all in the immediate area. Unfortunately for them, running off aimlessly was there only chance unless they could actually find a spot to take cover.
"I hope Iggy and Larry weren't dumb enough to head to Dinosaur Land..."
Morton, Lemmy, Roy, Bowser Jr., and Wendy were all still in the lounging area watching everything that was showing on the screen with Blue Toad and Toadsworth. They all were aware that everything somehow managed to get even worse for the inhabitants.
Suddenly, the door to the room opened and Peach, Iggy, and Larry all wandered right in.
"Where have you two been!?" Roy's tone of voice was already leveled up.
"They were with Yoshi and we all met up at the Dark Lands." Peach informed. "We found out quite a bit of information while we were all..."
She trailed off as she stared at what was happening on the television, not even taking another second to explain to the group when her jaw dropped with a giant gasp.
"Hey look, there's a giant bullet bill heading right towards a school!" Lemmy pointed.
"...Good thing it's after hours..."
"MORTON!" Roy shouted. Yet the next second, he froze in place. "...Wait a minute... Is dad still in Dinosaur Land?"
They all just stood still as the giant bullet bill crashed right into the school as its impact was so large, withing a split second, the whole rock formed building was destroyed into many pieces.
"...Um... Toadsworth?"
"Yes, princess?" The old man turned to the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom.
"I think we have to evacuate Dinosaur Land... right now..."
Okay, now that I'm back again, lemme state what I feel about this chapter itself. I somewhat have mixed feelings about. Yes, more big events occurred within this, but I find the whole thing to be a little too short. But I wanted at least one more chapter before something else can take place, so with that being said, I'm very curious to read what you guys think
Question: (Yes, I only have one this time)
1. If you can compare everything that is happening in Dinosaur Land to anything else, what would it be?
I know for a fact that the next chapter will be longer, since most of the characters will be together and discussed what was happening with them, and then we will dive deeper into the plot. K?
