*rises from the ashes like Mushu* I LIIIIIIIIIIIVE

Hello friends!

Yes, I know it's been a while since I last updated this story, but I am hopefully going to finish this story by the end of the year (Or the month, if I'm feeling confident)!

Now, a few things about this story:

- I have re-written Strangers Like Me. There is a prologue that I've written that is referenced in this chapter. It may get a bit confusing, so I do recommend reading that first (as well as the rest of the story, since I've improved it quite a lot)

- I know that this chapter is a little short, but I will be doing one song per chapter as to not have the chapters be super busy. So that means I have about nine chapters left to write! I may do a chapter or two after as resolution, but I haven't thought that far ahead yet.

- After I finish this story, I will be most likely moving onto Memories of Frost. I would like to thank everyone who has reviewed that story, and I promise it is not being abandoned. I will most likely be rewriting that one as well, but it will be completed!

Alright, I think that's it!

I hope you all enjoy this chapter!

Disclaimer: I only own Em, Jasper, and Maxine

Chapter 22

Elsa smiled widely at her parents as the next scene unfolded on the screen.

INT. CASTLE WINDOW — DAY

We look out on a gentle snowfall. Little Anna skips up to the

window. She lights up at the sight of the snow and rushes

down the hall.

INT. HALLWAY, ELSA'S DOOR — DAY

Anna knocks on Elsa's door and SINGS.

YOUNG ANNA

DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?

COME ON LET'S GO AND PLAY!

Anna peeks under the door.

YOUNG ANNA (CONT'D)

I NEVER SEE YOU ANYMORE.

COME OUT THE DOOR.

IT'S LIKE YOU'VE GONE AWAY.

"I remember hearing you sing that every year when it snowed." Elsa said sadly, and Anna looked at her sister.

"It's not your fault, Elsa. You were trying to protect me." She said, and Elsa looked back at her thankfully.

"What's that song, Mommy?" Maxine asked.

"It was a song Auntie Elsie and I made up when we were little." Anna replied, smoothing back Maxine's hair.

-INT. ANNA'S ROOM — Anna plays with two dolls, gives up, sad.

YOUNG ANNA (CONT'D)

WE USED TO BE BEST BUDDIES

AND NOW WE'RE NOT.

I WISH YOU WOULD TELL ME WHY.

-ELSA'S DOOR. Anna peeks through the key hole.

-Anna calls through the keyhole.

YOUNG ANNA (CONT'D)

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A SNOWMAN.

YOUNG ELSA (O.S.)

Go away, Anna.

YOUNG ANNA

(hearbroken)

...OKAY BYE.

-BEHIND THE DOOR — DAY. Elsa sits at the window looking out,

longingly. Suddenly, her icy hands freeze the windowsill.

-LATER. The King slips leather gloves onto Elsa's hands.

KING

The gloves will help.

He pats her gloved hand.

KING (CONT'D)

See? You're good...

(starting their mantra)

Conceal it.

YOUNG ELSA

Don't feel it.

YOUNG ELSA & KING

Don't let it show.

Jack suddenly straightened, his eyes wide.

"Papa?" Em asked.

"Frostbite, what is it?" Bunny asked, and Jack looked at Elsa with a small grin.

"You remember what happened that night, don't you?" he asked his wife. Elsa thought for a moment before a smile appeared on her face.

"That's when we first saw each other." She replied.

"Wait, you met Jack before?" Anna asked. "How did I not know this?"

"I would visit Arendelle sometimes, and one night I flew to the castle and saw a little girl sitting by her window. I didn't think she would see me, but she looked right at me." Jack explained, and Em and Emma gasped with excitement.

"She was your first believer!" Emma squealed. Jack nodded, pulling Elsa close.

-INT. HALLWAY, ELSA'S DOOR — DAY. Anna, now 9, knocks on

Elsa's door.

ANNA (9)

DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?

-INT. HALLWAY — DAY. Alone, Anna rides a bicycle built for

two in the hall by standing on the back seat.

ANNA (9) (CONT'D)

OR RIDE OUR BIKE AROUND THE HALL?

I THINK SOME COMPANY IS OVERDUE...

-INT. PORTRAIT ROOM — DAY. Anna runs around the portrait

room, gaining momentum to flip over the arm of the couch.

ANNA (9) (CONT'D)

I'VE STARTED TALKING TO

THE PICTURES ON THE WALLS.

Anna lands PLOP on the cushions, then looks up at the

painting above her of the courageous Joan of Arc.

ANNA (9) (CONT'D)

Hang in there, Joan.

"Anna, you talked to paintings?" Kristoff asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement as the others laughed. Anna blushed.

"I used to talk to my toys when I was super bored." Pippa said, smiling at Anna. The woman looked at Pippa with a grin.

"Thank you. See, I'm not weird!" Anna said, making the others laugh more.

-INT. EMPTY LIBRARY — DAY. Looks like no one's around.

ANNA (9) (CONT'D)

IT GETS A LITTLE LONELY

ALL THESE EMPTY ROOMS.

But then we find Anna, laying at the base of the grandfather

clock, playing with her braids, bored out of her mind.

ANNA (9) (CONT'D)

JUST WATCHING THE HOURS TICK BY.

Anna's eyes follow the grandfather clock's pendulum.

ANNA (9) (CONT'D)

TICK TOCK. TICK TOCK. TICK TOCK.

-INT. ELSA'S ROOM — NIGHT. Elsa (now 12) paces as she panics.

The entire wall is frozen behind her.

ELSA (12)

I'm scared. It's getting stronger.

KING

Getting upset only makes it worse.

The King goes to hug her.

ELSA (12)

No. Don't touch me. I don't want to

hurt you.

He and the Queen look at each other with alarmed sadness.

"We went to see the trolls that night." Iduna said, and Elsa nodded. She looked at Jack with a soft smile.

"That was also the second time I saw you, and I waved to you." She said, and Jack nodded with a grin, kissing her temple.

"It's like something out of a fairytale!" Cupcake said, and Pippa nodded, beaming. Em smiled brightly at her parents.

-INT. LIBRARY — DAY. Anna, now a teenager, slides past Elsa's

room without stopping.

-INT. KING AND QUEEN'S QUARTERS — DAY. Anna runs into the

room and throws herself into her parents' arms.

TEEN ANNA

See you in two weeks.

Anna gasped softly, placing a hand over her mouth. Elsa gripped her mother's hand tightly as tears filled her eyes. Jack and Em both knew what was happening, and Em shifted to sit in her mother's lap, leaning against her shoulder as Jack's arm tightened around Elsa's shoulders.

-INT. ELSA'S ROOM — DAY. Elsa curtsies in front of her

parents, formally, not touching them.

TEEN ELSA

Do you have to go?

KING

You'll be fine, Elsa.

Agnarr took his wife's hand, and Anna took his other as she bit her lip to hold back her tears. Kristoff mimicked Jack, wrapping his arm around his wife and holding her close.

-EXT. DOCKS — DAY. The King and Queen leave on a ship.

-EXT. ROUGH SEAS — NIGHT. Lightning flashes. The sea rages in

a storm. The King and Queen's ship is lost in the waves.

-INT. CASTLE — DAY. A portrait of the King and Queen is

covered in mourning cloth.

The Burgess kids all gasped, their eyes widening in realization. Anna was crying quietly, and Elsa had tears falling down her cheeks.

"Where were you going?" Emma asked in a soft voice.

"We were going to visit my sister in Corona. Her daughter, who had been missing for eighteen years, had been found, and she was getting married." Iduna replied, rubbing Elsa's hand. "Speaking of her, have you met her yet?" Elsa wiped her eyes, kissing Em's head.

"We have. Rapunzel and Eugene came to visit last Christmas." She replied, and Iduna smiled.

"I'm glad." She replied, and Elsa smiled at her mother as Anna took a deep breath.

-EXT. CEMETERY — DAY. Anna looks small, standing before her

people, beside burial stones.

-INT. HALLWAY, ELSA'S DOOR. Anna, still in her mourning

clothes, approaches and knocks.

ANNA

(singing)

Elsa? PLEASE I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE

PEOPLE ARE ASKING WHERE YOU'VE BEEN

THEY SAY HAVE COURAGE

AND I'M TRYING TO

I'M RIGHT OUT HERE FOR YOU.

PLEASE LET ME IN.

Anna slides down the door and sits with her head against it.

ANNA (CONT'D)

WE ONLY HAVE EACH OTHER.

IT'S JUST YOU AND ME.

WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?

(weak, internal)

DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?

We move through the door...

-INT. ELSA'S ROOM — DAY. Elsa is sitting in the exact same

pose as Anna. Her bedroom is frozen with ice. Snowflakes hang

in the air, suspended by grief.

"You gave me the rose." Elsa said softly, and Jack nodded.

"I saw the stones and Anna, and I wanted to help you." He replied, and Elsa leaned against him.

"Thank you for helping my daughter, Jack." Agnarr said, and Jack smiled slightly.

"Both your daughters deserve all the happiness in the world." He replied, and Elsa blushed slightly.

Alrighty! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.

Please review and tell me what you think. I used the theory that Iduna and the Queen of Corona are sisters, and that Rapunzel is Anna and Elsa's cousin. I really like that theory, and it makes a lot of sense.

Also, I just think that Jack, Kristoff, and Eugene would get along really well.

I'm putting together a one-shot series, so the Christmas referenced might be a chapter in there!

See you soon, Guardians, kings, and queens!

Love,

Enchantress
