Omg ;_; I can't believe I'm still getting faves/follows on this, I literally haven't updated in 5ever thank you guys so much!

Disclaimer: I do not own the men of Rikkai, nor do I own the plot of Inception.

..

Sanada stared at the man across from him, a scowl slowly creasing his features. The rest of his former team sat around in the helicopter with bewildered expressions. He broke the silence, if only to wipe the smirk off the other man's face, "What do you want from us?"

Atobe Keigo threw his head back and laughed, "Serious as always, I see. Is that any way to greet an old friend?"

He huffed and crossed his arms, still glaring.

Atobe sighed and leaned back in his seat, "Ore-sama has a job offer for you… As for what kind of job," a corner of his mouth quirked up, "You should know better than to ask."

"No."

Atobe's eyebrow twitched slightly, "No?"

"No."

The other man pursed his lips as the tension between the two grew. Finally, Renji cleared his throat, "What is it that you're asking us for?"

A grin spread across Atobe's features, "Inception."

Sanada, who had since cast his gaze outside the chopper window, snapped his attention back, eyes wide.

"Well? Is it possible?"

"Of course not," Yagyuu now chimed in on the conversation.

"Why not? If you can steal an idea, surely you can plant one," he crossed his arms.

Yagyuu adjusted his glasses, "If I tell you: Don't think about elephants…"

"I'm thinking about elephants."

"But I gave you the idea when I said it," Yagyuu paused for a moment before continuing, "If we do it in a dream—subconsciously—the subject can trace the origin of the idea."

Atobe nodded slowly, "Which would defeat the purpose… So you're saying…"

Satisfied, the gentleman finished the thought, "True inspiration is impossible to fake."

"I see," he chewed on his bottom lip for a moment before sighing.

"No." Sanada's voice was a rasp.

Atobe's eyes narrowed, "I get it. You can't do it."

"It's not impossible."

A light flickered in Atobe's eyes, "Can you do it then?"

Before Sanada could open his mouth to answer, Renji said firmly, "We won't do it."

"I can give you the information you were paid to steal," Atobe smirked, "Okubo was just a false lead."

"If there's information to be had, I believe I can handle that regardless," Renji said with a wry twist to his mouth.

Sanada seemed to have regained himself during the exchange and coughed, "If it's a choice, Atobe, we choose to leave."

Atobe placed a hand over his face and smirked as the chopper descended on the helipad. Satisfied, he gestured out the window at the private jet, "Tell them where you want to go, and they will take you."

After a moments' hesitation, the passengers made their way out onto the landing pad.

"Emperor."

The word cut through the air despite the thumping of the chopper blades. Sanada turned slowly to face Atobe, eyebrows knitting together slightly.

"I can offer you and your team something else," he paused, "Do you want to go home again?"

Jackal, to his credit, was the first to recover, "You can't fix that, Atobe… No one can."

"I see," he chuckled, "Just like Inception, eh?"

After a moments silence, Renji spoke up, "How complex is it—the idea?"

"Fairly simple."

"No idea is simple if you want to plant it in someone's mind."

"Our main competitor is an old man on his death bed… His only son will be inheriting control of the company. All I need is for him to decide to break up his father's industrial empire," Atobe shrugged, satisfied that he had them hooked.

"If we were in fact to do it…" Renji considered, "If we could… how do we know that you can deliver?"

"You don't," he grinned, "But I do," Atobe leaned his elbows on his knees, "So, fuku-buchou? What will it be for you and your team?" a corner of his mouth quirked slightly, "Take this chance? Or become old men waiting to die alone?"

Sanada threw one last glare at the man in the helicopter before he turned abruptly and began walking away, the rest of the team following in suit.

Jackal lagged behind, "Why us, Atobe? Out of all the extraction teams out there, why choose us?"

The helicopter blades began picking up in speed, "You were the best in the industry," Atobe gestured vaguely in the air, "Acquaintance is merely coincidence."

Renji cocked an eyebrow at his friend sitting across from him before continuing to poke at the refreshments offered by the crew of Atobe's private jet, "Paris?"

Sanada said nothing and instead gave a curt nod.

"Why Paris?" Yagyuu was the next to ask.

The data master sighed and answered, "If this is going to work, we're going to need a full team."

"Full… team?" Jackal's eyes were open as wide as they would go.

"Full team," was Sanada's firm reply.
