Tommy knew this was his only chance. He slipped a note in his lab partner's book, hoping the girl would do her homework that night, because sometimes he knows she saves all her work for Sunday night.
Last night, they hurt Chuckie so bad, he was still unconscious when Tommy woke. Usually, Chuckie would be up before Tommy and doing chores, but he was still out cold. Tommy sighed in relief when he saw Chuckie's chest rise and fall slowly.
His note basically told her to wait until dark, then call the police.
Getting back to the house was nerve-racking. He hoped she would call, but not too soon, or that she would go to the police directly and give them his note. If they don't do this right, then both he and Chuckie will be in a lot of pain, real soon.
Sirens, Cops, screaming, crying, gunshots, silence.
Only the sound of muted sirens broke through Chuckie's thoughts. It was done, he was free. He closed his eyes and let the darkness take him.
Kimi grinned triumphantly as she accepted her award. She had gotten all the way to the end, winning America the gold in her tournament. She worked hard to get where she is today, many tears were shed. She remembers the short time she had with her brother between kidnappings, she remembered the fear and the silence.
She remembered the fear she felt when he was taken again and the anguish she felt when she heard about the incident.
Tommy told them how it happened and the scar on his neck made her grateful that he got out alive. They hadn't known what happened when they were initially taken, they just knew that Tommy had a lot of blood on his shirt before he was pulled away from them.
Her friends were all there, the twins and their parents, Susie and her dad, Tommy and Dil and their parents, Angelica and her dad, and Howard. And her family was there too, both her moms and dads and her young half-sister Kiki, and Chuckie.
The bruises have faded and the bandages would be coming off soon.
"Woo! Yeah!" She hears her brother call happily. She probably couldn't actually hear him, since there were so many cheers and his voice was still pretty raw from disuse, but she'll take what she can get.
She grinned at her brother and bowed respectively. They'de get through this.
With those two dead in a shootout, one that hurt Chuckie badly, she can safely say that life would be just fine.
It's a bit rushed I think, but I just wanted to end it, and this was basically what I had planned anyways. I plan on rewriting it a bit, but we'll see if that ever happens.
Sorry for the wait.
Hope you like it!
