Ch. 9: Space Battle

Phoenix thought her Carrier's plan was brilliant.

Elisa was frightened by it, but she didn't say it out loud, so she left Carrier to work with Starscream and Soundwave to aid the navigation system. Phoenix wasn't too far behind and went to recharge not long after, while Elisa sat in her room thinking. She was huddled on her berth with her knees close to her chest and thinking hard. She wanted nothing more than to get the dark energon off the ship, but the thought of all of those undead walking around just frightened her to no end. She had so many questions. What if Carrier couldn't control them all? What if they didn't stop their destruction with just the autobots? What if….something just went horribly wrong? She was so focused on her thoughts that she didn't even hear Megatron come in.

"Elisa." He called out and put a servo on her shoulder. At the contact Elisa gasped and jumped, bumping into the wall.

"Carrier." She gasped while he chuckled.

"I guess you didn't hear me." He teased. He crawled onto the berth and stared right at her with purpose. "Is something wrong Elisa?" He asked gently this time.

"No Carrier. I was just thinking that's all." She answered, but her Carrier knew her too well.

"About what?" He asked.

"Nothing." She said quickly and he frowned.

"Even though you are a decepticon you are a terrible liar." He teased with a smile and she blushed. "Tell me please." He whispered leaning closer to her. "You know you can tell me anything little one." He said gently caressing her face.

"I'm just worried about your plan that's all." She answered quietly.

"Why?"

"Carrier…what if something goes wrong? What if by some means you can't control them all?" She suddenly asked.

"It's alright Elisa. Nothing will happen. I already know how to control them. I did so with a smaller legion today." Megatron said proudly.

"So that's where you went." She said quietly.

"Yes, unfortunately Prime and his medic defeated them. I have no doubt they will try to stop me somehow." Megatron muttered bitterly. She knew that he hated Prime, but she also knew of some their past through his spark memories that she dreamed about, but she didn't dare tell him that.

"How did you get them under your control?" She asked curiously.

"I'd rather not say." He stated. She looked at him confused before she looked at his insignia when she remembered the pain from the morning she gasped out loud.

"Carrier no!" She cried out and pressed both hands to his chestplates.

"Elisa stop." He ordered gently.

"Take it out right now! It's only poison to you Carrier. Please!" She pleaded.

"Elisa, stop this now!" He shouted making her jump. "I have to do this for you and Phoenix." He stated calmly.

"No you don't. You never had to do anything for me. You're my Carrier. That's all I want from you." She pleaded.

"Elisa…we are at war. I have to make sure you survive. I want you to live to see a new age on Cybertron." He stated firmly.

"Carrier no." She whimpered.

"As your Carrier I am supposed to protect you at all costs and if it means my spark is extinguished then so be it, but I want you to live." He said almost desperately. She fell into his arms and held him close as he stroked her back.

"I don't want to lose you." She cried quietly.

"I plan on surviving Elisa, but there will be a time when my spark will be extinguished, but now is not that time. I promise you Elisa." Megatron said strongly wiping her tears away. "You know I'll always be here." He repeated pointing to her spark. She smiled at him and playfully licked at his face. He grumbled at wiped his face as Elisa laughed. She playfully stuck her tongue out at him and he grabbed and pinned her down. She cried out when he kept playfully poking at her, tickling her in away.

"Carrier get off!" She protested while laughing. When he finally stopped she was breathing hard and she slowly got up and looked at him. She smiled when he kissed her forehead.

"I love you Elisa."

"I love you too Carrier."

Soundwave was in position and the bridge was empty except for Megatron, Starscream, Elisa and Phoenix. It wasn't long before the autobots arrived.

"Optimus Prime never disappoints." Megatron smirked looked down at the screen. "Unlike you Starscream." He snapped at the seeker making Phoenix snicker.

"No need for concern Master. Soundwave is locking on to Cybertron's coordinates per my instructions." He chuckled back likely, but Megatron was having none of it as he turned away. They had no choice but to wait for Soundwave and Phoenix was starting to get impatient. Elisa had her Carrier's tolerance and only rolled her eyes at her sister.

Then Starscream had to say the most stupidest thing.

"Surely Lord Megatron the autobots are up to something?" He said with a hesitance as he tried to sound intelligent, but failed miserably.

"Really Starscream?" Megatron replied in a voice just dripping with sarcasm as he leaned into Starscream way to close for comfort. Starscream gave a silly grin as Megatron sneered. He turned around and slammed a button. "Crush them!" He ordered the troops. Elisa groaned and shook her head while Phoenix laughed out loud.

"Are you serious Starscream?" Phoenix laughed making Starscream grumble. When she calmed down Phoenix looked over at the screen.

"No Phoenix." Megatron stated without even looking at her. Her eyes went wide and she looked at Elisa shocked, but she only shrugged. "I only need enough time to lock onto Cybertron." He stated firmly.

"Scrap." Phoenix muttered. Thankfully as if on cue the bridge was moving and locked on target.

"Lord Megatron the space bridge is ready for activation." Starscream announced.

"Finally." Megatron huffed. Then the bridge moved back from the locked on postion making everyone look at it curiously. "Starscream what is happening?" Megatron growled.

"Soundwave, what is happening?" Starscream said quickly, unsure of the answer also. Finally the screen showed that the bridge was really ready this time as Starscream chuckled darkly.

"Now Starscream?" Megatron asked.

"Now." He answered. When he pressed the button Megatron left the bridge without a word and he was on the roof of the Nemesis with the chunk of Dark Energon on his back.

"At last." Megatron said proudly before he threw the Dark energon right into the bridge. The autobots had no hope of stopping it as is disappeared on the other side. Megatron growled as his spark glowed a bright purple that matched his optics.

"Arise my legion!"

When the rush passed Megatron leaped into the air and transformed to go after his enemy who was waiting for him, but the other autobots were feeling.

"You're fellow autobots are wise Optimus. They know when to retreat." Megatron snapped into the air.

"I hold no illusions of defeating your army Megatron, but I might derail its objective by removing it's head." Optimus stated before his blade came into view before Megatron laughed.

"Hardly unlikely Optimus as I am infused with their very might!" Megatron shouted.

"One shall stand. One shall fall."

Megatron sneered at the statement. He hated those words with every fiber of his being. Megatron activated his blade and with a roar he charged at Optimus. Their blades hit once before Optimus tried another swipe which Megatron easily dodged. He got a punch in before Optimus ducked under his swipes of the blade. He blocked Prime's blade with his arms before he got hit in the face that sent him reeling back so hard he stuck his blade into the metal ground to stop skidding. Optimus wasted no time in charging when he was down and Megatron stopped the blade with his own. He sneered as he got up and swiped at Prime again making him fall back.

Megatron got a clean hit across Prime's facemask and then a swipe of his blade across his middle, but no energon spilled. It made Megatron hit Prime in frustration that broke his blade right in two. Megatron reacted quickly and slammed his blade up at Prime sending him flying into the air, but Megatron caught his pede before he slammed him down hard on his stomach and then he threw Prime across the bridge that sent him tumbling and sparks flying. Megatron approached Optimus, who was on all fours, with blade in hand. He raised it high and…

"Master!" Starscream called out.

"Starscream what is it?" Megatron snapped highly irritated.

" I do not wish to question your all seeing wisdom, but I believe the autobots are up to something again beneath your bridge this time." Starscream answered quickly.

"Ahhh miss direction Optimus. You would have made a fine decepticon." He teased before he raised the blade up high before Optimus blocked it with his broken one.

"I chose my side." Optimus said before he flung the blade up and activated his gun before he fired right at Megatron. He was flung back and he transformed as Optimus kept firing at him.

"Starscream my army approaches rondevu with the spacebridge for pickup." Megatron ordered. Phoenix ran out of the bridge and Elisa was hesitant for a moment before she slowly followed after her sister, walking. Megatron found the autobots and hit the femme before he flew off as the spacebridge started to shake and show sparks with small explosions. He transformed right in front of it waiting for the arrival of his army when he looked around. "Starscream where is my ship!?" He shouted in anger and confusion.

"We would never make it Lord Megatron. Don't be a fool, take flight and retreat!" Starscream pleaded. Phoenix was almost on the flight deck when she felt the ship shake. Something was wrong, but she didn't know what. Elisa stumbled into the wall as the ship shook.

Carrier is everything ok?

Elisa got no answer and became even more alarmed as she tried to get to the deck.

"My legion." Megatron said quietly. They were so close…just a few more seconds and they would be home free. He blinked when explosions sounded above his head and he looked to see the bridge exploding from the inside out. "No." He whispered. He reached out to the legion. They were just millimeters away.

So close…

Then everything went black.

"Decepticons it is with deep sorrow that I note for the log…Megatron's spark has been extinguished."

"All hail Starscream."
