I told you things weren't going to be pretty. There are going to be serious consequences for some people in the chapters to come in the long run. There is a little smut in this chapter, but nothing heavy. Thank you for all the reviews and favorites.

I don't own Transformers Prime as the show is owned by Hasbro.

Ch. 16: Recovery

Megatron barely recharged that night, let alone clean up his torn up room. He hurried out of it and walked over to the medical bay, but the doors were still locked up tightly and he saw that Knockout and Breakdown were still operating on Elisa.

He also saw Orion was there.

"Orion, I'm surprised to see you here so early." Megatron said curiously.

"I really couldn't recharge. I was worried about Elisa." Orion answered honestly. "I've only been here a few minutes. I am guessing they have worked through the night."

"I barely recharged either." Megatron said quietly. Orion placed a gentle servo on his arm.

"She'll pull through. I can tell she's a lot like you." Orion said gently.

"Hardly, she's the exact opposite of me." Megatron smirked.

"But she has your eyes Megatronous."

Megatron blinked in surprise at the compliment and looked at him curiously, but Orion gave him a smile and walked to his station. A few tears ran down his face as he looked back into the operating room and he thought about Orion's words. He knew Orion was right about that. He thought back to times on Cybertron, when he was Megatronous. He remembered back to the days of the gladiatorial and how he fought day and night for his freedom. Perhaps Orion was right in some respect. Elisa had his will and determination…but her kind nature came from when he was Megatronous. Phoenix had the rage and power that was Megatron…or was it Magma? He placed his servo on the locked doors before he finally pulled himself away and walked onto the bridge. He noticed Phoenix sulking by Soundwave as she was curled up into a tight ball.

"Anything Carrier?" She asked looking up at him. He shook his head no and she settled back down again. He couldn't focus on anything as he tried to work on the monitor.

"Lord Megatron?"

The voice didn't register to him as he looked out into the open windows of the Nemesis and saw nothing but storm clouds.

"Lord Megatron?"

He blinked as he realized someone was calling him.

"What is it?" He stated, still very unsure who was calling him.

"Lord Megatron, we're done with the surgery on Elisa." Knockout's voice answered. He scrambled out the door and ran to the medical bay, nearly knocking the doors over in the process. His breath caught in his throat as he saw Elisa still laying on her left side on the medical berth with a breathing mask over her to keep her sedated. He took slow steps to the berth and thankfully no one said anything as Megatron kept looking. There were plenty of scrapes and bruises still present on her body. He nearly burst into tears all over again when he saw her broken leg, now missing a bone as it had been stitched up clean, but it was covered with metal.

"What is this?" He asked weakly.

"It's a brace so she can walk again." Knockout answered quickly.

"Can't you do anything else?" He nearly pleaded.

"I'm sorry my liege, but the damage is far beyond my expertise. The big step was looking at the nerve damage as Magma struck her with his fire claws." Knockout started to explain.

"Couldn't you salvage the…" Megatron started, but could barely finish.

"Please believe me my liege when I say that I am very sorry about this, but there was nothing I could do to salvage the bone. It was shattered…a bone is not a puzzle that can be put back together." Knockout said gravely.

"But she can walk with the brace?" He asked again.

"Yes Master." Breakdown answered this time. "I made it myself. It distributes weight evenly just like a bone would."

"But with the massive nerve damage and just the sheer trauma of the injury she will have a permanent limp and still have some pain issues." Knockout added.

"Why?" Megatron snapped.

"I already told you my liege; the nerve damage is far beyond my expertise. The only one who could help is Shockwave. He could even possess the knowledge of how to make an artificial bone for her if he were here." Knockout answered quickly.

"But Shockwave isn't here!" Megatron shouted making the two medics flinch and back away.

"The only other medic that could help is Ratchet." Breakdown added.

"I can't have Ratchet here either!" Megatron shouted again, but froze when a soft moaning roar sounded. He turned and saw Elisa shift in her sleep, but otherwise didn't wake up. "Forgive me…I just…" Megatron said quietly still looking at Elisa.

"I know you want the best for her healing right now Lord Megatron and I am sorry I can't give it to you, but this is really the best I can do." Knockout said sincerely.

"Thank you…both of you." He said solemnly.

"I did manage to preserve the pieces of the bone. I can look into a few different options once she starts healing." Knockout suggested.

"Thank you doctor. You may go, I'll look over her for a while." Megatron said before sitting by her side. Both mechs left the room as Megatron took Elisa's hand and kissed it tenderly. "I'm right here little one." Megatron whispered. He caressed her cheek for a few moments before he kissed her forehead. She let out a quiet mumble and shifted again, but still didn't open her eyes yet. Knockout hadn't told him to take off her sedation mask yet and he wasn't going to anyway. He couldn't bear to see her in pain and he hated the thought that she just might be pain for the rest of her life. He leaned his helm onto the table and just stared at her face for the longest time, still tightly holding her hand as he slowly started to fall into recharge.

"My Liege…" A voice whispered out.

Megatron blinked his optics open as he realized he had fallen into recharge. He looked around to see who had called him and he saw that Knockout had spoken to him.

"What is it doctor?" He mumbled.

"Elisa is plenty stable. If you wish I can remove the mask and have her moved into her berth room." Knockout said quietly.

"Of course doctor." Megatron said quickly before he moved out of the way. Knockout gently removed the breathing mask, but Elisa didn't flinch.

"She won't wake up for some time yet. Just please be careful with the brace on her leg." Knockout said to Megatron. He only nodded before he took Elisa into his arms as gently as he could. It was a slow process but he did manage to get her under her covers in the berth. He laid her gently on the berth and kissed her forehead again as if to tell her he was still here. He nearly jumped at the sound of knock on the door. He quickly opened it and blinked in surprise when he saw Orion standing in front of him.

"What is it Orion?" Megatron said wearily.

"I heard from Knockout that Elisa was returned to her room. I hope she is alright." Orion said gently. Megatron turned and let him in the room. Orion let out a small gasp when he saw the brace on her leg. "What happened?" He gasped.

"It is the best the doctor can do for her at the moment. We do not possess a mech with enough skill to examine her injuries more thoroughly, but she will be able to walk again with time." Megatron explained.

"Oh thank the Allspark." Orion said with a gentle smile. Elisa's berth was too small for Megatron to lay on as well so he sat down next to it and place his servo on her shoulder. "Megatron…if you need anything…just ask." Orion whispered as he kneeled down to look at him.

"I'll be fine Orion." Megatron said back quickly.

"Megatron, this isn't another one of your battles. I know you're upset." Orion urged rubbing his arm. "I just want you to know I am right here to help you." For the longest time Megatron didn't know what to say.

"Thank you Orion," was all he could muster. Orion quietly left the room to leave them be and Megatron let out a deep sigh. "Elisa, baby, my little one, I'm right here and I will always be right here." Megatron whispered with tears starting to come to his optics. He quickly wiped them away, but they quickly returned again. "Do you remember…any of the stories I told you two about at night?" He said a little stronger.

"I remember one of your favorites was the story of the mighty Smaug. Oh Primus how does it go again…oh I remember now. Legend tells he was supposedly a large and mighty dragon. A large fire breathing drake with large wings for it's arms. He came into an energon and crystal mine and guarded it with all of his fire and power until one day an even brighter light fell upon his angry eyes. It was a light that was brighter than any crystal or energon could ever make on Cybertron, some say it was even brighter than Cybertron's two moons combined. It was small little femme dragon they said she was mix of air and water, but that didn't bother Smaug. All he saw was those beautiful bright blue eyes that seemed to sparkle like the very stars. It was then that Smaug realized those were the only gems he ever wanted in his life now.

However the little femme was not so easily conquered like the mines. He offered every crystal, every energon shard that was to be seen in the mines, but she refused. She finally said that he can win her spark if he gives back all the mines he stole from the people and share equally for she had done that with crystals all her life. At first he was very puzzled and surprised by this as he had known by plenty of experience that many dragons do not share so easily, but after some thought he agreed and gave the crystals back to the people. The little femme so proud of what he had done took him to her lands that were nothing but trees of pure crystal that glowed in the night and sparkled in the sun, but as beautiful as her lands were he knew that nothing would be as bright as those blue eyes. She was his light.

A light in the darkness."

By now the tears had finally stopped and he felt a little better as he glanced back at Elisa's sleeping form. Her breathing was deep and relaxed, but he knew he had to stay on guard to watch her wake so she wouldn't cause herself too much pain.

"Did I tell you the story about an old gladiator and young librarian?" He thought to himself for a moment before he spoke again. "Perhaps that is a story for another time."

He jumped to his pedes when he heard a small whimper, but he soon realized that it was Elisa making the noises as she must have been having a bad dream. Megatron gently placed his servo on her shoulder, but the tender gesture did not quell her fears and she continued to whimper.

"Elisa…wake up." He whispered gently.

"Carrier." She whispered out.

"It's alright little one." He said strongly. He let out a sob of joy when he saw her bright blue eyes finally opened.

"Carrier…aahhhh!" She cried out when she tried to move towards him. She moaned quietly when he shifted her onto her back. "Carrier." She smiled and tried to reach for him, but her bad shoulder made her hiss in pain, so he took her hand into his own and kissed it.

"Don't move baby." He said quickly.

"What is that?" She said looking down at her leg.

"It's a brace for your leg. Knockout wasn't…he couldn't…" Megatron started but couldn't finish.

"I can't walk anymore." She whimpered.

"No, that brace will help you walk again, but Knockout couldn't find a way to put the bone back into place. He doesn't have the skill or the resources." Megatron explained as gently as he could. Elisa grimaced in pain so he turned her onto her side again and he was pleased to see that her body relaxed slightly.

"Everything hurts." She moaned out as tears of pain rolled down her cheek.

"I know baby I know and I'm sorry." Megatron said as he kissed her face. "I'm sorry Elisa. I'm so sorry." He started to cry.

"Carrier, don't cry." Elisa said sweetly.

"It's ok baby. I'm just worried about you." Megatron smiled.

"I love you Carrier."

"I love you too Elisa."

"Carrier…" Elisa called out.

"What is it?" Elisa just looked at him with a glazed look in her eyes and he knew that she was ready to go back to sleep. "Go back to sleep."

"But I want to see you." She pleaded.

"You must rest. You need to heal." He insisted, but he barely finished his sentence before her eyes closed again.

"I like that story." She muttered half asleep.

"I know."

"I remember when you used to tell it to me at night." She added her voice getting more and more quiet.

"I know." He waited a few moments and finally Elisa started to breathe deeply as she was back asleep. "I'll be back soon Elisa." He whispered before he quietly went out of the room and walked over to Orion's station.

"Megatron…is Elisa alright?" He asked with concern.

"She'll pull through Orion. I can only hope." Megatron answered quietly.

"You should get some energon. It will help you." Orion said gently touching his arm, but Megatron waved off the request.

"I've certainly been in worst situations. You should know that Orion." Megatron said with a small smirk. Everything suddenly froze when they were staring at each other for far too long.

"Megatronous…"

It was all it took for Mergatron to grab Orion and slam him into the desk with a very heavy and heated kiss. They parted for a moment and Megatron started to gently nip at Orion's neck cables making him moan. Their plating started to get hot and Megatron could feel his spike against his panel. Everything just started to crash around him so quickly. Elisa's pain was still fresh in his spark and he suddenly felt selfish giving into desires with the enemy.

"Megatron what's wrong?" Orion called out sweetly. Megatron looked at Orion and everything felt so heavy again.

"He hurt Elisa, Orion. Magma hurt my baby." Megatron whispered fearfully. Orion wrapped his arms around Megatron as he started to silently cry all over again. "She'll never be the same again." He sobbed bitterly. Orion laid gently kisses on his neck and rubbed his back with affection.

"It wasn't your fault Megatron." Orion said quietly.

"How can you say that?!" Megatron snarled bitterly, pushing away. "I am her Carrier. I am supposed to protect her!" He insisted.

"You didn't know what Magma was going to do." Orion said gently.

"She's going to be in pain for the rest of her life!" Megatron shouted into the air.

"She has you Megatron. That's all she needs." Orion said quickly trying to calm him down.

"Perhaps" Megatron let out a sigh before he turned to leave. "I'm sorry to have bothered you." He said quietly and before Orion could protest he left the room. He retreated to his own room for a moment and huffed in annoyance as he realized he still needed to clean it up. He did a quick cleanup of anything broken on the floor and anything that would need replacing from the storage unit. He soon retreated back to Elisa's room and gladly watched her sleeping form. "What story should I tell you next?" He said quietly, but he knew she could hear. "What about the legendary dragon elders hmm?" He asked, but she didn't respond as she still slept.

"Well supposedly there were dragon elders that were like the Thirteen Original Primes. They were powerful and unique in their own way. There was also a rumor that the dragons had their own version of the Matrix of Leadership. It was passed down from one dragon to the next just like ours. See dragons always wanted to see themselves as equals to us, but of course both sides had some who disagreed with that."

Megatron couldn't finish anymore so he remained quiet for the longest time. All he did was watch Elisa sleep until his legs were so sore he had to stand up. "I'll be back soon Elisa." Megatron whispered before he left the room. He was surprised to see Orion in his room cleaning up.

"I'm sorry I looked for you here, but I guessed you were probably back with Elisa." Orion said shyly.

"It's alright." Megatron said quietly. "Orion I wish to apologize for earlier."

"It's alright Megatron I know you're upset right now. Take things slowly everything will get better with time." Orion said gently.

"Thank you." Megatron said lustfully before he stepped closer and gave him a deep kiss. Orion moaned in his mouth and clung to him all over again before he was pushed against the berth. "Stay with me." Megatron moaned. "Stay with me tonight please." Megatron begged.

"Of course."

I know Smaug has no place in the Transformers world, but when I wrote this chapter I had seen Desolation of Smaug and I just could not get that dragon out of my head! Smaug is not mine by the way and belongs to the Lord of the Rings world...or The Hobbit? Yes I'm going there with Megatron and Orion because I really love the backstory that was given.
