"I think we should go back home."
The words broke the silence that had been hovering in the room as Iceland struggled to follow the instructions within a crochet book that his brother had thrown to him so he would have something to do now that he was back home. Iceland wasn't one to be close to his brother but he found that there was a strange camaraderie between them that hadn't been there before and he couldn't help but wonder if it had to do with the fact that Iceland had been the one that got him to the hospital that night. No, he KNEW it had something to do with that night and he knew that his brother was grateful for Iceland's help but there was an unspoken tension between the brothers that hadn't been there the night of the hospital visit. It was almost as if the house was swollen with the amount of people within in now that the baby was allowed to come home but Iceland had to admit that some part of him was scared. He didn't want to leave. He didn't want to go home. It was childish but he wanted to stay with his big brother who would help him through this pregnancy. A pregnancy that terrified him more than he ever admitted to Hong Kong aloud. He wanted to stay. Hong Kong wanted to go. Iceland too a deep breath as he considered his boyfriend's words and he rested a hand against his tiny bump wondering just what it would mean to be on his own with the Asian Nation in their home with no one to rub his bac when he vomited and no one to talk too about the annoying mood swings that were beginning to grip him rather fiercely. He felt like a child Sven's age what with his wanting to be with his brother. He looked up from his failed crochet project and sighed to himself as he rubbed his stomach idly as he looked at the Asian Nation who was staring down at his phone rather pensively.
"Do you really thin it's time to go?" Iceland questioned quietly as he looked at his boyfriend who was scrolling through Facebook no doubt but rather than ignoring the question the Asian Nation pushed himself to a sitting position out of the lounging one he'd been in moments ago and turned his attention to Iceland. The sight of those light brown eyes landing on him had him looking down self consciously as he felt a faint blush rise to his cheeks. Of course it was time to go. He knew it the moment Denmark and Norway had looked at one another when they brought their newest son home and he saw it in the way the children looked at their parents and he saw it in Hong Kong's eyes just then. He wanted so badly to stay, wanted to be near to his brother throuhg this pregnancy but was that selfish? There was a baby that needed his brother more than him and he was hogging his brother wasn't he? "I'm hogging Norway, aren't I? Is that why you think it's time to go?"
"I wouldn't say you're hogging your brother but he's been busy with this new baby of his and I know you want to be near your nephew but I really think it's time to go home." Hong Kong replied softly as he placed his phone down on the bed, sliding off of the squeaky thing and made his way over to the Icelandic Nation and he squatted down in front of the silver haired Nordic and reached up cupping his pink face. He stroked his thumbs across his cheekbones gently then reached up to brush his fingers throuhg the bangs that fell across his forehead and met those large violet eyes. "I miss home, don't you? Don't you miss making love to me? Miss the sense of our own independence?" THe questions sent a fire burning in Iceland's pale face and Hong Kong found his lips twitching at the corners. "How about we go to your place this time? That way you won't be terribly far from your brother and you'll still feel comfortable enough to call him whenever you feel that weird need to do so. Does that sound fair to you?"
"Of course it sounds fair, you make everything you say sound fair." Iceland mumbled as he looked down at his boyfriend before looking away feeling his cheeks burning rather unpleasantly and he then peeked at the Asian Nation as he took a deep breath. Was he being unfair somehow? Was there some little thing that he had missed that made the Asian Nation unhappy? Had he made him unhappy by asking to come here? He knew it was a lot to move to someplace where kids ran freely and children were born in scary manners but was it all the kids that put him off? Or was it the fact that they never had any alone time? Iceland DID miss making love with Hong Kong and this bed was too squeaky to even try and he did miss having a nice big bed to roll around in and posses his own space while still being in touching proximity of the other male. He sighed then tossed t he mangled project onto the table next to him and reached up touching the backs of Hong Kong's hands hesitantly before sliding his hands up pressing his palms against the backs of his hands, fingers covering Hong Kong's. "Alright. When would you want to leave?"
"Well, I was looking at flights and there's one for tonight at midnight so we'd have about an hour to pack our stuff up and get out there to the airport to get out tickets." Hong Kong suggested much to the surprise of Iceland and he tapped his fingers lightly against his boyfriend's cheeks. "It's a two hour flight from here to your place so it's not like it'd take long for us to get there and you'd be comfortable the whole time. I'll make sure a car is waiting for us to bring the both of us to your place lickety split. We'd have to get ready now though. That means some short goodbyes but if we're to get to our home then we should probably get going shouldn't we?" He paused as he looked at the expression in the Icelandic Nation's eyes and he sighed out softly as he stroked his thumbs against his cheekbones gently. "That is if you want to do it now. There's a flight for later in the morning around noontime if you'd rather go then."
"Let's go at noontime. I'd rather be able to say my goodbyes to my brother and even Denmark alone with Sven, Abel and Nikolai." Iceland whispered then as he looked into his boyfriend's face for a moment and then smiled softly as he swallowed down a yawn. "You know that you'd feel better if you said goodbye that way too. You've gotten close to them whether you want to admit it or not." He yawned largely before he could stop it and he pulled Hong Kong's hands from his cheeks and forced the male to stand up with him as he then began pulling him towards the bed with a smile on his lips. "Now let's get some rest shall we? We'll have to get up early to make sure that everything is packed up and we make it to our flight in time. Let's get some sleep."
"Whatever you say." The Asian Nation replied as he squeezed Iceland's, hands as he was pulled onto the bed and he squirmed beneath the blankets with Iceland by his side, their legs twisting up together instinctively. Hong Kong always loved crawling into bed with this boyfriend. Despite his rather frigid coloring and the way in which he reacted to certain things with the stiffness of one unused to it there was a warmth when he crawled into the bed with him. A warmth that was shared and blooming between the two of them as they cuddled together and the feel of Iceland tucking his head underneath his chin in an instinctive manner had the Asian Nation smiling softly to himself. He wrapped his arms around his waist hugging him tightly and pressing his lips briefly against those silver locks of hair. He truly would do anything to make sure his family was happy but he just couldn't wait to be one on one with Iceland again like old times.
"Do you really have to go Onkel Emil?" Iceland looked down to find Abel clutching a stuffed monkey to his chest as his boots crunched on the snow lightly when he shifted his weight and the sight of those dull blue eyes staring up at him sadly was about enough for him to call a quits. He wanted to stay, he really did and there was nothing he would love more than to stay. He wanted to continue going to Abel's skating lessons, he wanted to play rounds of chess with Sven and he loved being able to help his brother cook dinner. He strangely enjoyed the home life and he enjoyed his nephews enough that as he looked down into his nephew's forlorn expression he almost crumbled. Sven was clutching his brother's hand looking strangely as forlorn as his little brother and Denmark watched from the large living room window with the newest addition to their family in his arms and he waved at Iceland. He had a bright silly smile on his lips that reminded Iceland all too much of how Abel smiled so freely.
"Yes I do. I've stayed far too long but I'll visit once I have my baby, okay?" Iceland squatted down in front of Abel who had tears welling in those dull blue eyes of his and Iceland reached up rubbing at his lashes, smearing the liquid against his gloves and the five-year-old lurched forward throwing his arms around Iceland's neck then burying his face into his throat. It was a surprise that made him jump but his arms instinctively reached out to cradle the child and hug him back when Sven threw his own arms around Iceland as well. He wriggled an ar free then slipped it around his elder nephew and hugged the both of them tightly as he rested his chin on their shoulders. "I promise that as soon as this baby comes I'll be back to visit but until then we'll talk on the phone? Maybe I'll even visit you at your new school next month." He stood up releasing the boys when Norway approached the little group and he turned to his brother. "Thank you for letting me stay here so long."
"No problem. We were far overdue for a visit." Norway's lips twitched as though they wanted to form a smile but he seemed to hold it back and then he let out a heavy breath that bloomed and wrapped around his head but his own dull blue eyes sparkled with a gratefulness that made Iceland's cheeks flush. "I will always appreciate what you did for me that night, Emil, and I won't forget easily the debt that I owe you for helping save your nephew." He then stepped forward and slid his arms around the Icelandic Nation hugging him fiercely making Iceland's lips move rapidly with unspoken words that failed to come to out as his face burned a brilliant red. It was easy to embarrass Iceland and with his brother being so sincere while his arms were around him had him positively flustered. When Norway released him there was a warmth in his chest that was making it so tempting to stay with his brother but as the trunk slammed behind him he flinched turning towards his boyfriend who was leaning against the car. "Don't worry too much about pregnancy cravings or the itching or the stretch marks. Just make it through the pregnancy and you'll have your baby in no time."
"Thanks for the inspirational talk." Iceland replied sarcastically then looked to his boyfriend who made a little tapping motion against his wrist making him sigh but when he turned to his nephews and brother had held his arms out as his face burned. "Give me a hug. I'll see you guys again at some point. Maybe we'll spend Christmas together." THe two small boys threw their arms around his waist while Norway's arms slid around his chest to the middle of his back and Norway's cheek brushed against his shoulder as the three of them clutched the Icelandic Nation. When they parted Iceland began walking backwards before spinning on his feet rushing to the passenger side of the car tugging the door open and slipping inside.
He could hear Hong Kong's voice as he spoke to Norway, said his goodbyes to the boys and then t he muted sound of his shoes scraping along the ground outside against the road and then the drivers side door opened up allowing the Asian Nation to slide into the car. He slammed the door behind him as he got his seat belt on, waited for Iceland to do the same, then jammed the keys into the ignition and twisted bringing the car to life with a rumbling roar. Iceland looked into the rearview mirror and he could see Norway picking up a sobbing Abel and it made his heart clench fiercely in his chest as the image grew smaller and smaller when Hong Kong spoke up. "We'll come back during the holidays to see the boys if that's what you're so quiet about. We'll visit your brother whenever you want but you know that we'll have to meet my brother so he can see the baby too."
"Of course we'll visit China and Japan, I wouldn't keep the baby away from them for anything. They'll meet the baby once they're here." Iceland replied as he looked out the window at the world zooming past in a blur that made little sense to the Icelandic Nation as he gazed out. "We should probably talk baby names. Norway said that it's better to get that out of the way-"
"Sunneva."
"What?"
A smile curled over Hong Kong's lips as he stared out the windshield, keeping his eyes on the road when he tapped his fingers against the steering wheel in a little rhythm that made the Icelandic Nation's lips twitch but he fought the urge to smile. He stared at the Asian Nation as he hummed to himself for a moment before peeking at Iceland from the corner of his eye then turning back to the road. "Sunneva. If the baby's a girl then I choose the name Sunneva." He then thought for a moment then smiled wider as he turned his blinker on taking a right turn and speeding up. "If it's a boy I kind of like the name Kai. It's a good strong boy name and it would make for an interesting baby to be named Kai or Sunneva. Of course you can look up your own preference names and we can figure something out for the baby and make a list of names before we choose one final name."
"Sounds fair." Iceland replied with a shrug as he then turned his attention to the window fighting the urge to smile widely as he then made a thoughtful sound before rolling his head against the headrest to stare at his boyfriend. "I like the name Sunneva. I don't think I have any girls names that I'd want besides that one because it really is a beautiful name." He paused as the car flew across the road bringing them closer and closer to the airport and he tapped the tips of his fingers together as if he were musing the names over and Hong Kong snickered at the Icelandic Nation. "Jón is also a good name for a boy. I rather like that name."
"You really want to name our potential son that?" Hong Kong questioned playfully as he took a left turn with an amused look on his boyfriend's face and there was something about it that made Iceland snicker deviously as the airport loomed up the road from them and Iceland felt a strange clench of longing spear his chest. It was almost as if the thought of going to his Homeland there was a spark of excitement but at the same time he was strangely missing his nephews. Missing the hustle and bustle of his brother's house already but when he turned to look at Hong Kong there was a light of excitement to his face that made it glow so beautifully that it robbed the Icelandic Nation of breath. Hong Kong was beautiful, always had been, but the thought of going to a new place seemed to fill him with an absolute joy that it glowed on his face making his skin glow like backlit alabaster. "I don't know if I approach of that name for our son."
"Only you would want a son named Kai. For all you know it's going to end up being a girl." Iceland replied playfully as they navigated their way through the rather large parking lot towards the front of the airport and Hong Kong laughed as he followed the line of cars towards. He leaned back in his seat, his hands dropping to the bottom of the steering wheel and turned his attention to Iceland with a smile on his looked down shyly before peeking up up at the Asian Nation who was smiling at him so beautifully that it once again robbed him of breath and he laughed breathlessly with him as they inched forward. "I think, just to spite you, I'm going to assume from here on out that it's going to be a girl."
Hong Kong laughed again, throwing his head bac against the seat as his laughter shook the car lightly and those light brown eyes sparkled at Iceland causing his words to dissolve in his throat as those eyes warm his very chest as he stared into them. He looked away after a moment with a scalding blush on his face as he leaned against the car door and the Asian Nation then sighed as he rubbed his palms against his thighs as they inched forward yet again before stopping and the brunette then turned a blindingly bright smile onto the Icelandic Nation making his face burn fiercely as he finally looked down at his lap. "Well, I think it's going to be a boy but you can go right ahead and spite me by assuming it'll be a girl. Who knows, you might be right and then you'd make ME the fool, haha!"
"You could never be the fool. An idiot maybe but never a fool." Iceland replied then leaned towards his boyfriend pecking his cheek causing a pink blush to rise into Hong Kong's pale cheeks and his eyes widened at his display of affection and the Icelandic Nation looked away from that wide eyed look aimed his way to look out the window. It was easy for things to dissolve into a comfortable silence between the two and Iceland had to keep himself from peeking at the Asian Nation the way he usually did during these silences. He didn't want to be caught peeking but the urge to do so was so great that when he did peek at the male next to him he felt his cheeks flood with color once again when he caught those light brown eyes and he looked out the window hurriedly. So close to home and yet Iceland had never felt shyer around his boyfriend before. He could only hope that by the time they got to his home that this shyness would wear off. He hoped it would.
