**********Warning: There will be mention of attempted suicide. I know this is a kid movie, but let's be real. Three-hundred years is a long time to be almost completely alone. I'd be surprised if anyone I knew made it that long (no offense to my friends).

End of Warning**********

"Please, Jack. Don't."

Jack looked at her and sighed. He could never say no to her. If it had been anyone else, he knew he wouldn't have listened. And she knew it too.

Jack Frost was fed-up, finished, done, whatever. He couldn't do it anymore. Jack didn't even know what had pushed him past his breaking point. His day hadn't been too bad.

He'd stopped a few blizzards, brought snow to the north, kept Wind away from the south for a little while, typical Winter Spirit things.

Then he'd gotten to hang out with Jamie and Pippa with Scarlett. Scarlett. Jack realized what was wrong. He never told her. And being around her made it so hard not to.

Jack had commented occasionally on his 300-years of loneliness and no believers, but he was always quick to change the subject when Scarlett began to pity him. He didn't want pity. But Jack remembered the night after Bunny found him (Chapter 54: Frostbite) and the promise he had made.

"Does she know?" Bunny asked quietly. Jack cocked his head in confusion. "Scarlett. Your girlfriend. Does she know?"

"No." Jack responded. Bunny rubbed the bridge of his nose and the boy rushed to finish. "I was planning to! I just...just don't how to say it. She gets so upset when I talk about being alone, and she's going through enough with her trying to transition from being mortal and the thing with her parents past. I guess, I just don't have the heart to tell her."

"Mate, ya have to. She has a right to know-"

"Why? Why should I upset her? What good would that do?" Jack yelled. Bunny growled and got right up in Jack's face.

"Because ya nearly killed yourself today! What if I hadn't gotten there in time? I would've had to tell 'er that ya died. She woulda blamed herself and ya know it! She loves ya, and if ya love her too, then tell her! She has a right to know," Bunny quit yelling near the end of his speech, and Jack knew he was right.

"I promise to tell her."

Jack couldn't though. Couldn't bear the thought of her being disgusted with him. Of her leaving. And not coming back. He'd gone through that before, and he wasn't about to do it again.

That's why he went to drown again. Why he was near the edge. Why if he took one step, and didn't try to resist the dark, murky waters grasp, it would all be over. Painless.

But once more, someone got there before he could.

Scarlett had noticed Jack wasn't his usual, cheerful self. She had tried getting him to open up, but he just shrugged her off and said he had to go make a snow storm.

So she went to his best friend. The Easter Bunny. Imagine her surprise when she had to find out, not from her boyfriend but Bunny, that her beloved Jack had tried to hurt himself. No, kill himself. And while Bunny normally went to the other Guardians when looking for Jack, Scarlett knew there was only one place he could go without fearing the others finding him.

Burgess Lake.

It took everything she had not to burst into tears when she saw the white-haired boy drop his staff and walk towards the edge.

"Please. Please, Jack. Don't. Please."

Her voice, quiet with fear and sorrow, broke Jack out of his miserable spell. He walked away from the lake and picked his staff up, clutching it tightly.

How could he forget? Again? How could he forget how much she meant to him? How much he'd be hurting her? Sure, she might've dumped him if she found out, but Jack wasn't cruel. He couldn't hurt her, especially like this.

"Red….I won't. I-" Jack was cut off by his red-haired girlfriend running and jumping into his arms. He wobbled for a second then steadied them both. "I'm sorry."

"Bunny told me….told me about….about last time. Please….." Scarlett couldn't get the words out. Please don't kill yourself.

"Shh. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere. I promise," Jack may have broken his promise to Bunny, but he wouldn't break his promise to her. Never to her. And while he may need time, at that moment he had someone else to take care of. "I'm sorry."

Scarlett sniffed before smiling softly. "Good. You're gonna make this up to me."

"Carrying you isn't enough?" Jack teased. Scarlett turned, well, scarlet-red before lightly hitting his arm.

"Whatever, We'll talk about this later though. Right?"

"You know I can't say no to you, Red."

AN: This was a request by Lila Ice. I tried to make it sweet near the end. If anyone is confused about who Scarlett is, read my story Autumn's Orphan. Next up...a one-shot with me in it! More than usual anyways. And I think I'm gonna write that Wind and Moon story. But I'm working on some stories about Fairy Tail and Heroes of Olypmus. Hopefully gonna publish them before April.

Kitkat Out!
