So I hoped you guys enjoyed the last chapter! I posted some new stories, Daughters of Olympus (Percy Jackson fic) and a Fairy Tail one-shot about dragonslayers if you guys want to check them out! Hope you enjoy this one-shot!
Before Jack Frost was born, there was a Winter Spirit like no other. Two, in fact. Old Man Winter, who represented the harsh winds, the blizzards, avalanches, and everything that made Winter dangerous.
And then there was the Snow Queen, who was not as evil as you might think. She was in charge of snowflakes designs, frost, ice, and everything delicate in Winter.
Together, they ruled their season side by side, with Old Man Winter controlling the North Hemisphere and the Snow Queen controlling the South. They lived in harmony, each aware of the other and courteous to both.
But there was a catch. They could never enter the others' domain. While you or I may think that was a good thing, as there is only so much winter one person can handle, they did not. For before they were appointed as Winter Spirits, they had been a young couple...madly in love.
Every night, the Snow Queen would sent the South Wind to deliver a message that expressed her feelings to her beloved. And every morning, Old Man Winter would send the North Wind to do the same.
That's how things were for centuries until finally they had both had enough. The Snow Queen decided to head North. But in order to do that...she had to cross the equator.
The next morning, Old Man Winter realized something was amiss, as there was no letter for him. So he headed South, and kept going until he ran into something. Or rather, someone.
His queen had been in the heat too long, and Manny had to turn her to stone to preserve her life. As Old Man Winter could not take her past the equator, and Manny had exhausted his power, the Snow Queen remained there for what was to be the rest of time.
Without her, Old Man Winter grew violent and, well, cold. He made storms more violent, blizzards more treacherous, and caused avalanches to take out entire towns of people. Eventually, Manny had the Guardians lock him away in the caverns of a mountain to keep him and the rest of the world safe. Then Jack appeared and took the role of Winter Spirit with no clue of his predecessors.
Three hundred years later, Old Man Winter glared at his looking glass as images of the Winter teen appeared. He grabbed his cloak and his crown before looking at the anti-magic chains that held him prisoner...then he grabbed an icicle and stabbed it against the metal, effectively breaking his chains and ending his exile.
"Just you wait, Jack Frost. I'll show you who the true Master of Winter is. I hope you're ready for the storm coming your way."
AN: This is kind of the prequel of the Master of Winter series. Until next time, hope you have a great day (or night)!
Kitkat Out!
