This week has been one heck of a week. It's almost Spring Break so of course my teachers pile on the homework. But Spring Break also means more updates! I may post a new story (a Fairy Tail one). Idk if I will though. I'll also be working on my two on-going Heroes of Olympus stories as well as one I have yet to publish. Okay, that's enough about me. On to the story!
Ash was the first to try. She walked over to the water and tried to feel the energy surrounding the lake. Nothing. So she tried walking, and she only stopped when the water was above her knees and Ash realized it wasn't working.
Scarlett was next. She hadn't exactly mastered her powers, but she did try to feel the magic. And she also tried to use her locket to see if she could communicate with any magical beings. The only thing she heard was some fish complaining about the 'messy' humans.
River gave it a go and tried to part the sea like in that story about Moses. No luck. So he tried to ride the waves like he usually did, but ended up diving face-first into the sand.
That left Jack. He concentrated and a blast of ice shot out of his staff, making it's way across the water until the entire lake was covered in thick, solid ice. He smirked as he looked at the others smugly. Ash frowned, River crossed his arms, and Scarlett rolled her eyes before she mouthed 'good job' to her frost boyfriend.
She and Jack could skate like pros, but Ash and River couldn't. Though normally a good skater, Ash had a hard time as River kept running into her and making her half-pull, half-drag him the entire time.
As they skated, Jack noticed that they seemed to be going down. That's when he saw that his ice had created a tunnel further along the way, assumingly towards the Underworld.
"I do hope they get here soon. I hate having to keep the poor dears separated," Persephone sighed as she and Hades awaited the Seasonals in a dimly lit room. The duo sat on thrones, Hades made of skeletons and Persephone's made of green vines and flowers. Across from them was a statue of a woman, her face frozen in pain and horror.
"As do I, my love. If that were to happen to us, I'd die...if I could, I mean," Hades replied. Persephone nodded and looked fondly at her immortal husband.
"Let's just hope it's not too late."
"Too late? Too late?! I've waited over three hundred years and you dare to think you might still have time!?" Old Man Winter (I've decided to now start abbreviating his name to OMW) shouted in rage. He kicked the table he'd been working at to the side, weapons of ice clattering to the ground. After taking a calming breath, OMW picked up the closest weapon, his personal favorite.
It was a knife made of ice and glass. It was said to make whomever's blood was drawn using it would have an actual heart of ice. Unlike what most people think, a heart of ice isn't one with no emotion. On the contrary, they feel things stronger than ever, and as ice is delicate, well….their heart breaks. They then turn into *****. (Can't spoil anything.)
Moving the knife from hand to hand, OMW smiled sinisterly. He had great plans for the Seasonals. As soon as they returned her, he was going to make sure they paid dearly.
Sneak-peek:
"It's nothing personal, kids. But Manny has to pay. And what better way to do that than hurt his beloved Guardians?" OMW looked at their angry yet confused faces. Then he looked at the one he had set his eyes on ages ago. "Time for hope to die."
As the knife sunk into the poor Seasonal's flesh, all hell broke loose.
AN: What do you guys think? The sneak-peek is pretty cool, huh? Won't happen for a little while though. This arc is going to be a little long. Sorry.
Kitkat Out!
