So I left it on a cliffhanger. Hehe. What you read won't happen for a few chapters. This arc will have about ten chapters in total (sorry if that number changes). This is chapter five of the arc, Masters of Winter.

The Underworld was one tricky place. After getting past Cerberus, Charon (ferryman for the dead), the Furies, and a ton of other mythical beings from Greek mythology, the Seasonals finally made their way to the throne room of the King and Queen who ruled the realm of the departed.

"Your most esteemed rulers, we are the Seasonal Spirits, here on behalf of Gaia, goddess of Earth," Ash announced as she bent down on one knee. Scarlett and Jack followed suit, though River had to be pulled down by Ash since he refused to comply.

"We know who are you. We have been expecting you. My wife and I know of your quest. In order to find the Snow Queen, Sambala, you must journey to the Kingdom of Four in the skies," Hades stated. Scarlett looked around to see if the others understood. They didn't.

"The Kingdom of Four is an ancient land only a Seasonal may enter. It holds all manner of dangerous magical objects and beings. There are four corners. The North, East, South, and West, which represents the four Winds," Persephone explained. Jack sighed as the group made their way to the surface.

"How could Mom never told us!?" River exclaimed. Jack had the brilliant idea of the four Seasonals using their Winds (North = Jack, South = River, East = Ash, West = Scarlett) to travel to the kingdom no one knew about.

"If you ask that one more time, I swear we will leave you here!" Ash yelled. River gulped before he mimed zipping his lips and throwing away the key. "Thank you."

"But I just want-"

"SHUT UP RIVER!"

It was fairly easy to enter the kingdom, seeing as Ash still had the scroll with the map that pointed out the entrances. One for each corner.

"I love the smell of fresh snow in the morning," Jack announced. Ash opened her mouth to protest but instead sneezed. River just shivered and kept a distance from the embodiment of Winter.

"It's the afternoon," Scarlett replied. Jack's shoulders slumped. "Sorry, sweetheart."

"Can we hurry up? River and I can't last forever," Ash asked. While Scarlett's season was the closest to Jack's (and the fact that she always hung out with him helped) so she wasn't as cold as the others. "We just have to go pick her up in that palace of ice over there."

"Isn't that convenient?" Scarlett commented. "It's like someone wants us to get there without any obstacles." Someone like the author *cough, cough*

"Your girlfriend is weird, Frosty," River said as the gang made their way to the large castle door.

"Yes. Find her. If you fail, you die. If you succeed, hmm…..you die as well. Either way, I win."

AN: Duh! Duh! Duh! Later taters.

Kitkat Out!
