This story just reached it's 100th review! Yay! I just want to say thank you to those who stayed with this story, even with the ups and downs and who gave me both ideas and encouragement. I might've given up awhile ago were it not for all the support.
No one had a clue what had just happened. One second, Scarlett discovered a new power that involved force fields. The next, an ominous voice said "Too late." before the lights turn off. And then, when the lights finally did come back on, both Sambala AND Ash have vanished. It really was not a good day for the Seasonals.
"Bunny is gonna kill me," Jack stated. Scarlett grabbed his hand, both to comfort him as well as herself. River nodded in agreement. "What do we do now?"
"I think we should get the other Guardians and Gaia. Maybe she'll know," Scarlett suggested. The two boys shrugged; it was a good idea, and they really didn't know how to react to the situation. Ash was like a sister to them all.
"YOU LOST HER?!"
Jack winced as Scarlett covered her ears and River hid behind a nearby yeti. They'd used the winds to get them home, and when Bunny heard the news...let's just say he wasn't exactly thrilled.
"Come now, old friend. They had nothing to do with it," North patted the Pooka's shoulder. He too knew the sorrow of losing a love. But the Russian was not going to let it happen to his friend too. "Do you have something she came into contact with?" Bunny cocked an eyebrow before he made an 'o' face as he reached for his boomerang.
"She was messin' with this a little 'while ago. Will it work?" Bunny asked. Tooth and Sandy seemed to know what was going on as well, which confused the Seasonals greatly.
"North has a potion for finding spirits and immortals, but it needs an object they've touched in order to work," Tooth whispered as an elf made his way over carrying a large vial filled with a luminescent blue glow radiating around it.
North carefully removed the cork and poured just a drop of the potion onto the boomerang. It then glowed a pale blue similar to Ash's eyes. A small white cloud appeared, before it turned into a mirror so that the Guardians (and River) could see what was going on.
"Let us go!" Ash yelled, hands gripping the bars that formed a cage. Said cage was hanging from the ceiling. The image zoomed out, revealing a large cave covered in ice with only two other beings who inhabited it. Sambala, still stone, and an old man who wore an old-fashioned dark blue cloak and a silver. (I have never seen the show, but imagine the Ice King from Adventure Time but with a silver crown with blue crystals.) He stood in front of an mirror made of crystals and ice-like glass. The man turned and Tooth gasped as she saw his face, as she apparently recognized him.
He sneered and walked until he was almost out of Ash's sight, though he wasn't quite yet, and smiled wickedly. "Never again shall I part from my beloved again. You however, well, I hope you said goodbye to your friends...and your precious Bunny."
"Leave him out of this!" Ash retorted. He simply rolled his eyes and began to walk away. "Whatever you're planning, they'll stop you. Like they did before." That made the man turn real quick, his face red with anger.
"They only stopped me because I let them! I decided to rest, grow more powerful, until I could exact revenge. Now, I'll hurt the oh so wonderful Guardians. Image how distraught they'll be when they find out your fate." Ash glared but said nothing. "Don't worry; it'll hurt you far more than it will hurt me."
"Damnit! That was supposed to tell us where he is, not make me angrier," Bunny huffed. North shushed as the image once again zoomed out so a mountain could be seen, covered entirely in snow and ice with not a sliver of the dark, rich earth to be seen. "His prison? Why would he go back there if he broke out already?"
"Maybe because whatever spell he used to get out is only temporary," Scarlett suggested. Everyone turned to her and she flushed at the attention before she began to explain. "If it is, then he has to either get trapped again for however long or find…."
"Someone to replace him" Jack finished.
AN: Okay, so I have about three more chapters, then I'll finish the Pooka arc (only about one chapter there) and then I'll take a break from arcs as these are supposed to be one-shots. Oh, and before I forget….
Jack: Thanks for putting up with Kitkat.
Bunny: Which is a lot of work.
North: Patience.
Sandy uses ASL to say *and you have to stay quiet about your opinion*
Tooth: She's not too bad.
Me: Jee thanks.
Kitkat Out!
