Title is based on Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas. I figured since the main character in that movie is called Jack that I could work that into this one-shot. Kind of sort of not really a song fic/one-shot. Warning: Long chapter ahead!

Jack hadn't really celebrated Halloween much, especially since it was a fairly new holiday or at least the 'giving kids free candy and wearing costumes' traditions were new. So he had just gone along with Jamie's Halloween movie marathon the day before the Burgess kids were going to go trick-or-treating.
While most were either really bad quality or not accurate (really, vampires weren't nearly as dramatic or as good looking as Hollywood portrayed them to be) Jack did enjoy one movie. The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Jack Skellington, besides sharing Jack Frost's name, had the same feeling that something was missing from their lives. And both Jacks went on a journey to find it. Plus they were both technically dead, though Jack Sk-Frost didn't have the same pride in that fact as Jack Fr-Skellington did. *All these Jacks are getting confusing*
That's why Jack was more than happy when the next day came and Jamie had a Jack Skellington costume for him. Even though Jack didn't have that many believers, he still thought it would be fun.

Jamie had decided to be his favorite Guardian, Jack, and he convinced said Spirit to loan him his blue hoodie and Sophie was dressed as the Easter Bunny, borrowing one of Bunny's boomerangs. Pippa was dressed as Tooth using peacock feathers, Claude was a yeti using a fur coat, Caleb was an elf with stickers of candy canes on his face, Monty was North with glow-stick swords, and Cupcake was Sandy thanks to her gold sequin dress.
Though the others were too busy to come, Jack took plenty of pictures for Tooth to aww over. He refused to take any of him with his Skellington hoodie and mask, however, mostly so Bunny didn't make fun of him. (Little did he know that Sophie had snapped a photo thanks to a mini-camera Bunny had loaned her in exchange for getting revenge for the Abby incident).

"Trick or treat!" The kids shouted as the door opened to reveal an elderly woman smiling with a big bowl filled with large candy bars. While no one else could see Jack, all the children made a pact to split their treats with the Winter being.
"Aw, look at how cute you all are! Here, take some extra!" The lady exclaimed. Jack shook his head while smiling at how Jamie's eyes lit up at the idea of extra candy Por Tooth would have a heart attack if she knew Jack was letting them eat this much sugar.

I know, I know. You weren't expecting that. No, this time it was someone we have met before. A certain short dwarf with red wizard-like robes and a long grey beard. Sound familiar? It should but if not, reread Chapter 44: A Deal is a Deal.
Unfortunately, he wasn't alone this time.

Even though you would have thought that after all the times the Guardians had beaten and humiliated this guy that he would have given up, he for some reason thought it'd be a good idea to return AGAIN!

'Shoot,' Jack thought as he told the kids to go ahead since he wanted to try and grab a few extra kitkats ;) though he really wanted to check out a noise he heard. As he inched closer to the alleyway, ironically the one Bunny had retrieved him from before he became a Guardian, Jack saw something he wished he hadn't.

He strained his eyes but he still could not see Pitch himself. So he did the only thing that made sense at the time. He screamed. See, Jack knew how much Pitch loved fear. And hearing someone scream in what Pitch would assume was fear would surely draw the Nightmare King to him.

Unfortunately, the kids heard Jack and came running back. Pitch actually did something smart and hid in the shadows as he watched Jack smile nervously and come up with some lame excuse as to why he screamed.

As Jack led the kids away to finish trick-or-treating, he turned back and glared at the darkness. "You should know by now you won't win."
"You haven't won yet, Frost."
AN: I tried to put all of the lyrics in but I felt like that would have made this chapter than it needed to be. Albeit it is still fairly long but I adore this song and felt it kind of went with ROTG. Btw I do not own Disney or their songs.
