I went back to reread Chapter 8: Wooden Beam and….I was not the world's best writer.
Bunny: Ain't that the truth.
Jack: You weren't the worst. But you almost were.
Tooth: *still mad about being cut off* I agree.
Kitkat: Hey- oh, wait. I think y'all are right. Anywho, shout out to everyone who kept reading even with my first chapters not being fantastic! I'm so grateful for that.
North: Isn't this getting long?
Kitkat: Yeah, I guess it is. Just like in my first chapters.
North
"Look, guys, as fun as this is, I've got some snow to spread so-" Jack was cut off by a crashing noise and then something falling. North's eyes widened in horror as the beam of wood fell on Jack.
A while back, one of the elves had the "brilliant" idea of grabbing a saw and managed to cut halfway through it until Phil noticed.
North had said he'd fix it when he got around to it. The problem was he forgot all about that broken beam. Until it collapsed on the young Winter Spirit. Karma is a female dog. *kid friendly*
"Jack? Are you alright?" If anything happened to that boy, he'd never forgive himself.
Bunny
"Frosty, answer us!" Bunny yelled. He felt horrible. Not because of the beam falling (he was pretty sure it was the same wooden beam North had constantly been forgetting to fix). No, it was because of their fight.
Okay, maybe it wasn't really a fight. But he had just threatened Jack. And now Jack was underneath a large piece of timber, not moving, not saying anything, and Bunny couldn't hear the boy breathing.
Needless to say, Bunny felt incredibly guilty. (AN: You notice how people say "needless to say…" before saying the very thing that shouldn't have needed to be said?)
And no words can describe how relieved he felt when Jack spoke.
Tooth
"Not really. If someone could help get this off, then maybe."
Knowing Jack, that was probably his attempt at dispersing the tension. Tooth tried to help by laughing, though she knew it came as nervous.
She knew he'd be okay. He had to be. He was Jack. Some stupid wood wasn't going to do anything.
"Alright, Phil, Steve, Dave, on three!" North commanded. The four of them, along with Sandy's dreamsand, before Bunny placed Jack on the couch. Jack groaned when they set him down.
Tooth couldn't herself as she fluttered around them, wringing her hands with worry. She wanted to help but didn't quite know how. And that just made her worry more.
Sandy
"Pretty sure I've got some fractured ribs," Jack croaked. It sounded like it strained him just to speak. His breathing was harsh and heavy. Sandy felt his heart drop at the sound.
He couldn't help but question how exactly Jack knew he had fractured ribs. How he had that kind of medical knowledge. And how many times had he had to
"We'll take care of you, Jack. Just rest," Tooth cooed. She then made a little hand motion behind her back to Sandy, a fist pressed into the other. At first, it didn't make sense then Sandy had an Aha! moment.
So Sandy knocked the boy out. And felt incredibly guilty about it. But he then looked at the other Guardians. They made a silent agreement to take care of Jack.
Death
'Dang it,' Death thought sulkily as he sat on his couch and tossed his ebony-handled scythe aside, not caring about the blood dripping off the extremely sharp metal-blade. 'I was sure that'd get him.'
Him being Jack of course.
Kitkat: Next up is the Santa Stalker arc WinGirl requested, which will be two very long chapters (I did this so I can accept four more requests.) I know it's been a few weeks but it was my kid sister's bday and I had to get her a gift, and y'all know how long that can take.
Sandy: *in sign language* Don't forget to ask for questions.
Kitkat: Right! Please, please, PLEASE, can I have some questions for any of the characters from ROTG or any of my OCs (Original Characters).
Kitkat Out!
