A Fresh Start

Chapter Sixteen

When Sam lands in Washington the moment she walks off the plane, she pulls her phone out, dialing Jeffrey's number as she walks through the airport. Dr. Frost is there waiting at security and they walk to baggage claim together while Sam and Jeffrey talk. When her luggage finally came, Sam says goodbye. "I will call you when I get home."

"Okay."

A few minutes later, they are on their way but instead of going to the agency Dr. Frost heads towards the suburbs of Washington.

"Where are we going?" Sam asks. "I left my car…."

"I know you were going to leave your car at the agency but I thought it would be better if I took it home. I promise I babied her all the way there and no one has touched it since I parked it Friday night."

"Oh, alright." Sam says, settling back into the seat.

A few minutes later, they pull up in front of one of the older mansions in Reston. Sam's mustang was indeed in the driveway parked exactly where Dr. Frost had parked it Friday night. After unloading her luggage, she thanks him for picking her up and gives him a quick hug before she leaves. Walking into the house, he smiles as he realizes that the agency may loose the best doctor they had, in a few months.

When Sam pulls out on to the highway heading towards her apartment, she pulls out her cell phone and says. "Call Jeffrey." Immediately the phone dials the number as Sam reaches over and turns the radio down.

"Hello." Jeffrey answers on the third ring.

"Hi darlin."

"Who is this and why are you calling me darlin? What if…?"

"Jeffrey!"

"Hi, are you home yet?" Jeffrey asks, chuckling

"No, I just left Dr. Frost's house…."
"Why? I thought you left the car at the agency."

"He decided to take it to his house for the weekend. So I just picked it up and I'm on the freeway headed home. What have you been doing?"

"Missing you, I almost bought a ticket and flew out there."

"You can't, you've got too much work to do."

"Work! It doesn't matter."

"Yes it does. You don't fool me O'Neill. I know how much being mayor means to you."

"You matter more to me."

"Thank you, but I don't think I can compete with the whole town of Springfield."

"You have that backwards Darlin, Springfield can't compete with you. I hope this week goes by quickly."

"Me too, but we'll both be busy."

"I think I'm going to go and pack up everything that I left at the Beacon and move it over here." Jeffrey says, lying down across the bed.

"What about Olivia?"

"What about her?"

"You said you weren't going to let her run you out."

"Yes, I did. But I thought you wanted me to move out of the Beacon."

"I did, but I don't want to be the 'jealous girlfriend'."

"I don't mind you being the jealous girlfriend. Besides you were right the loft is a good place for me. She wanted me out of there anyway. It'll be better this way. We won't be bumping into each other in the hallway or the lobby."

"And Ava."

"Ava, can do as she likes, if she wants to see Olivia that's fine." Jeffrey said, rolling to his side.

"You know she's not going to like this." Sam says, taking the exit to her apartment.

"I don't care. This is the right thing to do and besides it might help her to move on."

"I don't think she's going to do that so quickly."

"I didn't mean immediately, but in time if I'm not there and she doesn't see me everyday it will help."

Sam is pulling into the parking lot of her apartment when he asks "Where are you at?"

"Actually, I'm about to park." Sam says, pulling into her parking place. Switching off the engine after she puts the car in park, she grabs her purse, cell phone, backpack with her computer and opens the car door. Locking the door, she pushes it closed before she starts towards her apartment.

"You got there that quick."

"Yes, there's not that much traffic and Dr. Frost only lives about twenty minutes from my apartment."

"How fast were you going?"

"I don't know. I wasn't paying attention." Sam replies, unlocking her apartment door.

"Sam."

"I was going the speed limit maybe a little above. Would you relax?"

"Just be careful."

"I will I promise." Sam replies as she drops everything in her living room floor and heads towards her bedroom.

Kicking her shoes off the moment she walks in the door she sits down on the bed, rubbing her feet across the carpet as she crosses her arms and reaches for the hem of her t-shirt.

"Hang on a minute." She says, taking the Bluetooth out of her ear before pulling the t-shirt over her head, putting it back in she asks "Are you there?"

"Yes, what are you doing?"

"Taking these clothes off." Sam says, as she stands up to unbutton her jeans. While Jeffrey closes his eyes and feeling sparks of desire burn through him. "Are you there?"

"I'm here." He says softly, as he pushes away the imagines running through his mind

Tugging her jeans down, she sits down on the bed and kicks the jeans off. Reaching behind her she unsnaps her bra as she hears him sigh. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I was just thinking."

"About?"

"You, I can see you." Jeffrey says his voice deep with desire as he closes his eyes, imaging her standing in her bedroom, in her panties.

"You can see me, so what am I doing?" Sam asks, her voice a soft whisper, deep and smooth.

"You just took your bra off and now you're reaching for your underwear." Jeffrey replies, before releasing a soft groan.

"What do you see?" Sam asks, reaching for the waistband of her panties, tugging on them as she bends over.

"I see you, pushing them down your legs. Do you have any idea how beautiful you are?"

"Umm, I'm beginning to find out." Sam replies, lying down on the bed. "Tell me what I feel like." She hears the breath Jeffrey sucks in before he groans softly. "Am I soft."

"Yes, but your toned to. I can feel the muscles beneath your skin, moving as you move. Your skin is smooth."

"Is it cool or is it warm."

"It's cool at first but then it feels warm, almost hot. How do I feel?"

"You feel the same, but yet you're stronger. There's a barely controlled energy running through you." Sam says, closing her eyes and imagining him there beside her

"Do you know what I would do if I were there?"

"What?"

"Close your eyes. Can you see me?"

"Yes."

"Can you see my hand?"

"Yes."
"Do you see me running it down your body?"

"Yes." Sam sighs, after swallowing "Do you see me?" She asks

"Yes." He replies, as he closes his eyes and sees her running her hands down his chest.

"I see you… you're running your hand down my chest, reaching for me." Jeffrey sighs, as he reaches for his erection.

"You're hard." Sam whispers, moving her hand down her body, softly caressing it.

"You're hot." Jeffrey whispers, reaching and wrapping his hand around his body.

"Touch me." Sam gasps, slipping her fingers between her thighs, touching her body, feeling the heat and moisture rushing from her body.

Slowly they begin to move their hands, each of them caressing the other in their minds, while they caress their own body. Jeffrey hears her breath catch after a few seconds.

"Go on… Beca." He groans, feeling his body surrender.

"J… I'm almost… there." She gasps, slipping her finger inside her body, caressing it.

He hears her breath catch again, as she feels her body begin to quiver. "Jeffrey." She cries, arching her hips, her body quivering deep inside, pulling her fingers deeper inside her.

"Beca!" Jeffrey groans, delivering his final caress, as he feels rush through him.

For several seconds, all you can hear is the sound of their breathing, as they struggled to hang on to the desire leaving them as reality pushes its way back in. After a few more seconds, Jeffrey whispers. "Go to sleep, I'll call you in the morning."

"Okay." She whispers. "I love you."

"I love you too Beca."

Through the week, Jeffrey and Sam talk a number of times either before they go to work or later at night when Sam had finished her shift. The two agents that had been brought in from the explosion left the hospital around Wednesday

That left Richard as her only patient for the time being at least and he was progressing quite well. He had progressed from the walker to using a cane. He was eating solid foods. His strength improved phenomenally over the week. Tuesday morning, Cassie is walking into his room. She finds him sitting in a chair beside the window looking out into the courtyard. "Hi." She says, as she walks in, letting the door close behind her.

"Hi." He says quietly.

"What's wrong?" She asks, kneeling beside him.

"I was just thinking about Tammy."

"Oh." Cassie says, standing up and walking over to get the other chair.

"What happened? Cassie, I know something has happened. Is she sick? What?"

"Richard." Cassie sighs. "I know you're worried, but right now we have to concentrate on you and your recovery."

"I'm fine Cassie. But I know something bad happened, why won't you tell me what it is?"

"Because I want to make sure that you're well before we add anymore to this."

"So, something bad did happen?"

"Yes." Cassie says, looking away and fighting the tears.

"So, tell me. Maybe I can help." Richard says, turning her to face him.

As she looks into his eyes, she is tempted to tell him everything that has happened, but then she thought about him and him slipping back into the coma and she couldn't do it. Leaning forward, she kisses him softly. "I promise you, when the time is right I will tell you everything that happened." Cassie says, as one of his therapist walks into the room followed by Sam.

"Good morning Richard." They both say.

"Hi." Richard says, as Cassie sits back.

"Are you ready for this morning's session?" The therapist asks

"Sure." Richard says, standing up he starts to walk away from the chair as Cassie gasps.

"Richard!" She says, pointing at him.

"What?"

"You're walking, without the cane."

"Oh." He says, looking down. He hadn't even noticed that he didn't have the cane in his hand until Cassie points it out.

"Do you want it?" Cassie asks, standing up and bring it to him.

"Ah, I don't know." Richard says, looking over at the therapist and Sam.

"We can see how far you can go without it, if you want." The therapist says

"Okay." Richard says turning as Cassie opens the door to his room, followed by the therapist and Sam.

Slowly Richard continues to walk without the cane. He is shuffling his feet more than really walking, but it is progress. He starts down the hall towards the therapy room, walking slowly down the hallway with the rest of the nurses watching him all of them smiling. When he reaches the room, he collapses in the chair, breathing hard.

"Just give me a minute to catch my breath." He says, as Cassie, Sam and the therapist come in the room.

"It's okay, take your time." The therapist says "Are you in any pain?"

"No. I just feel weak and tired." Richard says, taking a deep breath

"We can start with some simple exercise and go from there, okay." The therapist says.

"Okay." Richard nods, sitting up as the therapist moves to help him stand.

Cassie and Sam watch for a few minutes before Cassie turns to her. "How's Jeffrey?"

"He's fine." Sam says, blushing slightly

"You went to Springfield this weekend."

"Yes."

"So, what did you think?"

"It's a nice little town. I didn't see much of it."

"I imagine you saw a lot of the Beacon."

"Actually, I didn't see that much of it. We spent most of our time at Jeffrey's loft."

"His loft!" Cassie says, looking over at her.

"Yes, he's decided to move in there."

"Wow… I'm surprised. I thought he liked staying at the Beacon."

"Yes, well we decided that it would be better if he moved."

"Because of Olivia, She can be a handful sometimes." Cassie says, as she watches Richard climb a series of steps and go back down the other side.

"You know Olivia."

"Yes, we used to be partners."

"You were partners with her."

"Yes, we each owned half of the Beacon. Why?"

"I was just surprised."

"Does she know about you and Jeffrey?"

"You could say that."

"How did she react?" Cassie asks, looking over at her. "I see, like that." Cassie replies, reading Sam's expression. "She always was the competitive type, even after Richard broke off their engagement."

"Richard was engaged to her?"

"Yes, before we were married and before my sister went back to San Cristobel and he found out that she had known all along where his son was and didn't tell him."

"You don't think the whole thing was a little weird, Jeffrey and her as a couple."

"To tell you the truth, I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on with him. I was dealing with my own problems, but yes, now that they're not together. It did seem a little strange."

"Strange, she was trying to date the man she thought raped her when she was sixteen."

"Yes well, tragedy and trauma affect people in very strange ways. Look at me I was married to my husband's brother. A man who held me prisoner, literally, killed my child, try to kill his nephew and my sister, and numerous other things he tried to do to Richard and I was married to him, because I wanted to hang onto him." Cassie says, nodding towards Richard. "That doesn't include the time I spent with Jeffrey and Josh."

"Josh, who's Josh?"

"My sister's husband." Cassie says, looking over at Sam.

"Your sister's husband, you…."

"Yes, up until a couple months ago, I was dating and engaged to my sister's husband."

"Wow!"

"Yes, wow. That's why I went to San Cristobel. I had to clear my head."

There were several seconds of silence before Sam turns to Cassie. "Is everything okay between you too?" She asks, nodding towards Richard.

"It's fine, why?"

"Because when we walked in a little bit ago, it seemed pretty tense in there."

"We were talking about Tammy. He wants me to tell him what happened?"

"What did happen?"

"As I told you, she was killed this past spring in a hit and run accident."

"Did they ever catch the person who was responsible?"

"Yes, but he got away with it." Cassie says, her voice hard with anger.

"How?" Sam asks, looking over at her

"It's a long story. But let's just say that his money bought his freedom. Richard knows something happened and he knows it's bad, but there so much more to it. Alan's involvement, Jonathan and Sarah…."
"Jonathan is his son?"

"Yes, his son with my sister Reva."

"He was married to your sister."

"Yes, a long, long, long time ago. When we thought she was dead, she was actually in San Cristobel, married to Richard. They had a son, named Jonathan. Some stuff happened with Edmund and Reva left the palace, leaving Jon in Olivia's care until she returned. That didn't happen till six years later, after Josh and Reva remarried and they went to San Cristobel for their honeymoon. That's what I was telling you before. Richard was engaged to Olivia at that time."

"This really is a soap opera."

"Yes." Cassie says with a smile.

"So, what did happen to Jon and Sarah, who is Sarah, by the way?"

"Sarah was Jon's daughter and they were both killed in a fiery car crash, just after Tammy died."

"What!" Richard says, staring at Cassie

"Richard, I didn't see… I thought you were still…." Cassie says, turning around

"Richard, why don't you sit down?" Sam says, pulling over a chair.

"No, did I hear you right?" He asks, looking at Cassie. "What happened to Jonathan and Tammy?" Cassie looks over at Sam. "Don't look at her. You need to tell me what happened, what happened to my son?" Richard demands, staring at her with a panic stricken look on his face. "You said he was k…."

"Richard, sit down." Cassie says, reaching for him.

"No, tell me."

"Jonathan was involved in a car crash last spring. He and Sarah both were in the car and…."

"Just tell me!"

"They were both killed." Cassie says with tears in her eyes.

Richard felt like someone had sucker punched him as he tries to catch his breath. He starts sway. The next thing he remembers, he is waking up and he is laying on one of the mats in the therapy room, Sam, Cassie, and his therapist are around him.

"Are you okay?" Sam asks, as she reaches for his wrist, taking his pulse.

"I'm fine. What happened?" He asks, trying to sit up, but Sam holds him down.

"You passed out." Cassie says, brushing a few strands of hair back from his forehead.

"I passed out, why…? Jonathan." He says, looking over at Cassie, hoping what he was remembering wasn't the truth. "He's gone." He whispers, as tears fill his eyes along with Cassie's

"Yes." She whispers. "Can you give us a minute?" Cassie asks Sam.

"Sure." Sam says, standing up and drawing his therapists to the other side of the room.

"What happened?" Richard asks, trying to swallow the lump in his throat.

"He and Sarah went off a cliff just past Laurel Falls this last spring."

"How?"

"They were running away from Alan and they were on a dirt road and he took a curve too fast and lost control and went over the cliff."

"What does Alan have to do with this? And who is Sarah?" Richard asks, sitting up

"Lizzie and Jonathan had a baby and you know Alan. Jonathan didn't have the greatest reputation when he came to town. He did some things, not just to Springfield but us. Alan didn't think Jonathan was fit to raise a Spaulding, so he tried to take Sarah away from them. To keep him from doing it, Jonathan and Lizzie were married."

"What does that have to do with Tammy?"

"When Jonathan first came to Springfield he was furious at Reva and at the rest of the family because he had been left with Alfred and Marissa."

"But Alfred and Marissa were good to him."

"Marissa was good to him, but after you and Reva left Alfred became mean and abusive and he drank a lot. His favor target was Jon. Anyway, when Jon first came to town, he was angry, very angry at all of us. He pretended to be someone else and then he seduced Tammy."

"He seduced her, he's her cousin."

"I know. I had to be the one that told her. That summer was very hard for her as you can imagine. She kept telling herself that she didn't want anything to do with Jonathan and she started dating a boy named Sandy Foster. They even got engaged and were married, until the Frank showed up and arrested Sandy for bigamy. That drove Tammy into Jonathan's arms, and at first I freaked, I won't lie to you. But as time wore on, and I saw how Jonathan treated Tammy. Even after he and Lizzie slept together.

Tammy didn't turn her back on him or Lizzie. It broke her heart when they got married, but she stayed with him and Lizzie, until it finally got to be too much. I think the saddest I ever saw her was the months after she moved out of the Beacon to let Jonathan and Lizzie make a go of their marriage. In the end, Jonathan couldn't stay away, but by this time Lizzie was in love with him and Lizzie being a Spaulding she went to Alan to get his help to keep Tammy away from Jonathan.

Of course, Alan had his own agenda. He didn't like or want Jonathan raising a Spaulding heir, so he arranged a trap for Jonathan. He told Lizzie part of the plan but not all off it. Lizzie told Jonathan want Alan told her, but Tammy found out about the trap and she went to warn Jonathan. In the end she was hit by the car that was meant for him. She died a few days later." Cassie says reaching up to wipe the tears away as Richard moves to hold her.

"What happened to Alan?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing, what do you mean nothing? He killed her."

"Alan struck a deal with Doris. He was never charged and the man that was driving the car that hit Tammy was arrested, but he was deported back to Australia. And when he made a statement about his involvement in Tammy's death he conveniently left out any mention of Alan Spaulding."

"Why?" Richard asks, openingly crying

"I don't know." Cassie says, holding him.

"Why was Alan chasing him?"

"At Tammy's funeral, Alan had said some things to Jonathan and Jonathan being the man that he was, he attacked Alan. I don't know all the details but somehow Jonathan ended up on that dirt road and he went off the cliff. He and Sarah both were in the car."

"Did they ever recover their bodies?"

"No, but there was no way they could have survived that crash. It was at least 100-150 foot drop and the car landed on rocks and gravel. It burst into flame on impact. They didn't have time to get out before the car went over." Cassie says. "That's what Frank told Reva."

"Oh god Reva! She must have been devastated."

"She was; we all were."

"And you. Did you have anyone there, while all this was going on?"

"Reva and Josh were there. Jeffrey was there too. But Josh was there for most of it." Cassie replies softly.

"So, did anything at all happen to Alan?"

"A few weeks later, he married Doris Wolfe and on their wedding day someone shot him."

"Did it kill him?" Richard asks, hoping she would tell him that the man was dead.

"No, but it was touch and go for awhile."

"Did they catch who shot him?"

"At first they thought, and even I thought I'd done it. I went a little out of my head and I started following Alan and threatening him. When Frank found out that the gun that had shot Alan was a rare gun and that HB owned one, he brought me in for questioning. Josh confessed to keep me from going to jail. He was convicted and sent to prison.

"Why would he confess to keep you from going to jail?"

"He wanted to protect me." Cassie replies, looking away.

"You and Josh were together." Richard said, watching her.

Cassie looks over at him shocked that he had guessed that. "How did you know?"

"Because that would be the only reason a man would confess to shooting someone they hadn't shot. He was trying to protect you because you and he were… together."

Cassie looks down at her hands. She couldn't look him in eye anymore. Now that he knew everything that had happened in the last five years. All the things she was ashamed of she didn't know what to say or how to explain it to him.

"Cassie, you don't have to explain it to me."

"After I rode you so hard about you and Reva, and then I was…."

"I wasn't in love with Reva, that's the difference. I was in love with Catherine, the memory of Reva. I didn't know her and that's why I was able to fall in love with you, because Catherine was a memory, and you were real." Richard says, wiping away a tear that was rolling down her cheek. "What happened to Josh? Is he still in prison?"

"No, Doris's daughter Ashley came forward and confessed to shooting Alan and he was released."

"Are you still together?" Richard asks quietly.

"No, while he was in prison I wasn't allowed to see him. So Reva went in my place and they reconnected in there. When he got out, he came back to the farm for a while, but it was obvious that things had changed and he finally admitted to what happened while he was in prison and he moved back in with Reva."

"I'm sorry." He says, reaching up and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"No, it's okay. Deep down, I knew that it wouldn't last. I knew it was wrong. Not just because he was Reva's and he always will be but because I knew that I didn't love him. Not the way that I love you. He only had a piece of me, just like Edmund and Jeffrey." Cassie says. "I think we need to go back to your room. Do you feel like you can make it, or should I get the therapist or Sam?"

"I can make it with your help."

"What do I need to do?"

"Just give me something to hold on to." Richard says, reaching for Cassie's hand.

Bracing her leg inside his, she holds his hand tightly, not pulling on it, just being an anchor of sorts for him to balance against and he pushes himself up off the mat. When he is steady, she releases him. As she starts to turn away, he reaches for her. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulls her to him, holding her. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for all this." He whispers, holding her tightly as she wraps her arms around his waist. "If I could bring them back I would… all of them. I would go back and erase everything that happened before and after the accident."

"I know, but we can't go back. We can only move forward." Cassie says. They hold each other for a few more seconds before she steps back. "I think we need to get you back to your room. You need to rest."

"We both need to rest." Richard says, releasing her. Stepping out of his way, she turns towards the door but he stops her, putting his arm across her shoulders, he draws her to him as they slowly start towards the hallway and his room.

When Sam and the therapist had left the room after Cassie had asked to be alone with Richard, Cassie didn't know but they are coming out of another patients room, when they see Cassie and Richard walking back down the hall towards his room.

"Should we go see if he's okay." The therapist asks.

"No, he has everything he needs right there beside him." Sam says, turning in the other direction.

When they reach Richard's room, Cassie helps him into bed. She starts to sit down in the chair when he reaches out to stop her, shaking his head no. "I want you up here with me." He says, moving over to the far side of the bed. "I want to hold you." He says, as she moves to the side of the bed. Kicking her shoes off, she lies down beside him. Turning towards him, he put his arms around her, holding her.

Jeffrey walks into the Beacon, his arms are filled with boxes as Olivia comes up to him. "What are you doing?"

"I'm packing my stuff up."

"Why? I thought you were determined to stay."

"I changed my mind. And maybe you were right. Maybe if we don't see each other everyday you'll finally realize that we will be nothing more than Ava's parents."

"You're girlfriend is jealous." Olivia asks, as they walk up the stairs to his room.

"Sam has nothing to do with this."

"Oh, I think she does. I think she's threatened by me."

"She doesn't even know you." Jeffrey says, reaching for his key and unlocking his door, hoping that she will go back downstairs and leave him to pack his stuff up in peace.

"That still doesn't mean she's not jealous." Olivia says, following him inside the room

"She's not the type to be jealous" Jeffrey says, sitting the boxes on the bed.

"But yet she demanded that you move."

"She didn't…."

"How secure is that? Maybe she sensed something between us Saturday morning." Olivia says, moving to block him from opening one of the drawers. "I mean I've never seen you so furious as when you stormed into the lobby and dragged me into my office." Olivia says, reaching out to run a finger up and down Jeffrey's chest. "Maybe your Sam realized that you still…."

"Olivia, the only thing I feel for you is pity. Because you're trying to hang on to something you think you want, because you don't want to face the reality of what is truly going on." Jeffrey says, reaching for her hand and pushing it away.

"I gave up Buzz for you."

"If you want him then go tell him. But I'm through playing games with you. I'm through expecting you to accept the fact that I'm not the one that raped you that night. I'm through trying to satisfy your insecurities and I'm through with dealing with your drama. I've got what I need, what I've always needed. And that doesn't include you." Jeffrey says, taking Olivia's arm and leading her to the door. "Now, unless you need to speak to me about something that legitimately has to do with Ava, don't call me, don't email me, and don't try to see me at City Hall on the pretense that you want to discuss some zoning law. If you do, I'll have security alerted and you won't be allowed in the building."

"This isn't over Jeffrey. I don't give up that easily."

"Yes it is Olivia, unless you want me to make your life hell, drop it. Get on with your life; I'm getting on with mine."

"With her, with a Southern…"

"I would watch what I say Olivia." Jeffrey says, taking a step towards her. "I can be very forgiving when it comes to you harassing me, but Sam's another matter." Walking back inside his room, he closes the door. Leaning back against it, he takes deep breath. "How did my life get so damn complicated?" he asks as Olivia stands outside his door, staring at it for a few seconds, before she turns and goes back down to the lobby.

Walking into her office, she closes and locks her door. Picking up her desk phone, she pushes the button for the intercom line.

"Chris, I don't wish to be disturbed for any reason, unless it's about Emma."

"Yes ma'am."

Sitting down behind her desk, she leans back in her chair and turns towards the lake. She has a clear view of the lakes opposite shore and the light house. "Okay fine, he thinks his southern bitch is the one he needs. I'm going to have to find away to eliminate the problem." Olivia says. "But first I need to know everything about his darling Sam." Picking up the phone, she pushes the button to get an outside line, and then she dials a number by heart."

"Ms. Spencer, I'm surprised to hear from you again." The man says.

"Yes, well. I have another job for you."

"Who's the target?"

"I'm not discussing this over the phone. Meet me down by the docks on 5th street in an hour, and come alone."

"Yes ma'am." The man replies. Olivia hangs up

About ten minutes later Olivia is leaving her office as Jeffrey is loading up the last boxes from his room. He sees her leave and wonders where she is going, but then thought it didn't matter to him anymore; as long as she stays away he is happy. Getting into his truck he starts it and then pulls out of the parking lot of the Beacon for the last time.
