A Fresh Start
Chapter Fifty Two
"I always want more." Sam replies, leaning back and looking up at him.
"Umm." Jeffrey replies, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "What exactly do you want?"
"I think you know what I want." Sam replies, reaching for and loosening his tie
"I do, but what if I say no?"
"I don't think you can or will." Sam replies, slowly moving her eyes down his chest.
"I think you're right." Jeffrey whispers, leaning forward and kissing her as he picks her up and moves her over onto his lap.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she plays with his mouth for a few seconds before deepening the kiss. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulls her closer, his tongue slipping inside to play with hers. After a few more seconds, Sam leans back, her breathing has deepened as she lays her head on his shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Jeffrey asks, tightening his arms around her
"I'm fine." Sam replies softly. There are a few seconds of silence before she says. "Some times I'm amazed at how quickly you turn me on."
"You do the same for me." Jeffrey replies, slowly running his hands up her back.
"I know, but sometimes I want you so fast that it hurts almost. I don't know how I lived without you for so long." She says before she kisses him again
When she leans back and looks down at him, he reaches up and lightly runs his fingers over her face, tracing the shape of her brow, along her jaw to her mouth, slowly running his fingers over her lips until she lightly kisses his fingertips. When she leans in, Jeffrey stops her.
"What?" She asks, looking up at him.
"Not here. I don't want to do this here." He says, lifting her and moving her off his lap.
Standing up, he holds his hand out to her and reaching for it, he helps her up and then leads her around the couch to the stairs leading the way to their bedroom. Even though they are only holding hands, she can still feel the passion burning inside him. She feels it rushing through her and she wants to run up the stairs, but he's ahead of her. He's controlling the pace of this encounter. "For now!" she thought as they walk into their bedroom.
Turning to her, he pulls her into his arms. Wrapping them around her, he pulls her to him tightly. He feels her shiver when she realizes how desperately he wants her. Reaching up, she begins to unbutton his shirt as he leans over, catching her mouth, he kisses her, his tongue slipping inside when she sighs softly.
Unbuttoning the first button on his shirt, she tugs on it and then moves down to the next button. She repeats that process until she has his shirt open and out of his pants. With her hands resting at his waist, she looks up at him. Leaning over, he kisses her lightly before he reaches for her waist. Slowly he tugs on her t-shirt, pushing it up. He moves over to her ear and neck, nibbling while he works her shirt up. After a couple seconds, he steps back and lets her lift her arms.
Tugging on the shirt, he pulls it over her head and then tosses it to the floor as he wraps his arms around her. Holding her to him, he sighs softly when he feels her skin touching his. "You're so soft." He whispers, running his hands up her back.
Reaching for his mouth, she kisses him leisurely as she raises her hands to his shoulders. Resting them inside his shirt, she sighs softly as she moves down his arms, pushing his shirt off his shoulders until it falls to the floor. While she's taking his shirt off, he slowly works his way around to her breasts. Cupping them softly and gently caressing her nipples. Breaking the kiss, she moans softly.
They remain there, lost in each other for a few seconds before Jeffrey moves around to her back quickly unsnapping her bra, brushing the straps off her shoulders and down her arms. Wrapping one arm around her, he pulls her back against him, lightly kissing her neck as he slowly moves his hands up her body as her bra falls to the floor, releasing her into his hands.
"J." she sighs as her eyes closes.
Gently caressing her until she turns in his embrace, wrapping her arms around his neck she kisses him deeply. He groans softly as flames of passion caress his soul. Wrapping his arms around her he holds her tightly, returning her kiss. After a few seconds he lifts her, holding her as his mouth closing over her nipple as she buries her fingers in his hair holding him to her as she lets her head fall back moaning softly, looking up, he watches her. He draws her in completely for a few more seconds before he reaches for her other breast and begins to caress her other nipple.
After a few seconds, she moves away. Looking down into his faded green eyes, as he lowers her to the floor when she touches the floor, she takes a step back. Kneeling before him, she lightly kisses his chest, holding his attention as she moves down slowly. Nibbling on him until she reaches his nipples, lightly licking on them until they are hard, slowly she runs her hand down his stomach, scratching him until she reaches the waistband of his pants. Slipping her fingers under his belt as she moves to his other nipples.
"Beca." He groans, completely aware of her mouth and hands. Looking up, she watches him until he looks down into her eyes. "I know." He says softly, reaching for her and helping her up.
Reaching for the button on her shorts, he unbuttons them, tugging on the zipper as she unfastens his belt pulling it free before she reaches for his pants. Opening them, she slowly works his zipper down. She looks up when his pants are open, resting her hand inside as he begins to push on her shorts, pushing them down until they fall to her feet.
Looking up, she whispers, as she begins to tug on his pants. "I love to listen to you breathe when you want me."
"What do you feel?" Jeffrey asks, after taking a deep breath.
"It makes me hot. I want you." Sam whispers, leaning forward and kissing him, desperate for him.
That desperation he can feel. "I want you too Beca." He sighs, deepening her kiss. Slipping his hand under her panties, he lays his hand over her. Feeling the heat rushing from her
"J, touch me." She moans
Slipping his fingers between her thighs, he wraps one arm around her, holding her as he feels her begin to tremble. "You're hot, Beca." He groans, as she leans up, kissing him as she tugs on his pants, tugging them down until they fall to the floor.
Pulling his hand away and taking a step back, she moans softly. Kissing her softly, he braces himself by hanging onto her shoulders as he kicks his shoes and pants off before he pulls her to him, returning to caressing her as she tugs on his boxers. As they fall to his feet, she closes her hand around him, gently caressing him.
"Beca, that feels so good." Jeffrey whispers, closing his eyes.
Savoring the feel of her hand holding him lightly caressing him and making him need her more, slowly they begin to walk towards the bed, while they continue to caress each other. After a few seconds, he bends down, picking her up again. Wrapping her legs around his hips, she moans loudly when she feels him pressing against her. Slowly she begins to roll her hips.
"Beca!" He groans, as he stops for a few seconds
"J." she cries as he lays her across the bed.
Slipping inside her, he begins to thrust as she braces her feet against the mattress and continues to roll her hips, caressing him. Leaning up on his arms, he looks down at her, watching her as he increases his caress. Pushing deep inside her, after a few seconds he feels his body loosing control and he begins to slow down. Leaning up, she kisses him softly, slowly running her hands down his back to his hips, pulling him against her while she caresses him from within.
"Sam." He groans, laying his forehead against hers, his breath hot and heavy as he struggles for control.
"Just… a little… longer." Sam whispers, as he begins to thrust again. "I'm… almost…J!" She cries, as waves of desire rushes through her.
Arching her back, she takes him deeper as he thrust a couple more times and then he feels desire rush through him, filling them both with intense waves of satisfaction. When the final wave rushes through him, he collapses in her arms, breathing deeply as she wraps her arms around him, burying one hand in his hair at the base of his neck and laying the other across his back.
Slowly they begin to feel their bodies relax and after a few more seconds, Jeffrey rolls off her. Both of them lay there, trying to catch their breath. Turning her head, she watches him for a few seconds before she sits up. "Am I going to get this kind of treatment everyday?" she asks, smiling at him.
"Maybe." Jeffrey replies, sitting up and leaning over to kiss her. "Are you complaining?"
"No, I'll never complain with you."
"Never?"
"Maybe a little bit but not here, and not when you love me." She says, kissing him again. After a few seconds, she sits back and smiles at him.
"I won't complain either." He says, reaching up to lightly caress her face.
"When do you have to go back to City Hall?"
"I've got a meeting at two." Jeffrey replies, glancing at the clock.
"So, you've got to go." Sam says, looking too and realizing that it's close to 1:30.
"Yes, but I can stay for a few more minutes." Jeffrey says, getting up and gathering up their clothes.
Handing hers to her, they get dressed. A few minutes later, Sam follows him down the stairs. "Do you want me to fix you a sandwich to take with you?" Sam asks, as they walk into the kitchen.
"You can." Jeffrey replies, watching her take the stuff from the refrigerator. "What are you going to do this afternoon?"
"I think I'll start putting stuff away."
"Sam."
"I'll take it easy, and I won't pick up anything that's too heavy." She says, looking over at him.
"Okay." He says, taking the sandwich. "I should be home by six. It depends on Doris."
"Doris?"
"She wants to talk to me about Alan."
"Okay, well we'll be here, waiting."
"That's more incentive to keep the meeting short."
"Alright." She says, walking over to him and wrapping her arms around his waist.
Laying the sandwich on the counter, he puts his arms around her. "I love you."
"I love you too." She says smiling
"I'll be home this evening." He says, releasing her.
"Okay." She says, as he turns to leave the kitchen. "Jeffrey." She says
"Yes." He turns back around and she's pointing to the sandwich. Picking it up, he smiles at her and then turns to leave with her following behind him.
"I'll see you tonight." He says when they reach the door.
"Okay." She says, holding the door open for him.
Stopping in the door way, he kisses her one more time before he starts downstairs, taking a bite out of the sandwich as she closes the door behind him.
Olivia is walking into the lobby of the Beacon. Her hands full of bags when her assistant walks up to her. "Ms. Spencer, there's a call for you."
"Who is it?" Olivia asks.
"A Mr. Simmons, he's called several times in the last few hours."
"Can you take these bags up to my room? I'll take the call in my office."
"Yes ma'am." Her assistant says, taking the bags from Olivia.
She walks upstairs as Olivia heads towards her office. Opening the door, she pushes it closed before she walks over to her desk. Pushing the button for line one, she says. "Why are you calling me at my office?"
"We need to talk."
"You never call my direct line, you call my cell phone."
"Why were you hanging around with Mr. O'Neill last night?"
"You're watching me?"
"No, my associate is watching him as he is supposes to be doing, and saw you walk up with your daughter. What were you doing there? Are you having a change…?"
"No, I'm not. I figure if I back off, they'll relax around me and they won't suspect me when this finally happens."
"So, you're playing them."
"Yes, I'm playing them."
"Alright, but make sure you're committed to this."
"Of course I'm committed to this. He's played me for a fool too many times."
"Alright."
"Have you heard about the chloroform?"
"No, not yet."
"Alright, I'll talk to you later." Olivia hangs up as Cassie walks into her office.
"Was that business for the Beacon?"
"No, it's personal. What did you need?"
"I came to see if I could come back to the Beacon, full time."
"Ah, sure, but I thought you would want to be at home with Richard and Will."
"I do, but I also need to help out a little more than I have been."
"Alright, I'll see you in the morning?"
"Sure."
Cassie gets up and leaves as Olivia begins to look over the papers on her desk.
William is walking into the palace after attending a fund raiser for one of the local charities. As he walks in, Natalie meets him. "Sir." She says, falling into step with him.
"What is it Natalie? I'm tired and it's been a long day."
"Sir, we have the paperwork ready for Mr. Randall and his daughter to come to the island." She says, handing him the papers.
"Everything is in order." William asks, walking towards his office.
"Yes Sir, we've made the appropriate arrangements for them to settle on the other side of the island, including finding Mr. Randall a position with one of the local companies and all the appropriate paperwork with San Cristobel's seal and alias's for both of them."
"Is that necessary?" William asks.
"Yes Sir, according to Colonel Mitchell. To protect everyone involved."
"Alright, I'll faxes these documents to the embassy in Washington and inform my brother that everything is ready for them."
"Yes Sir."
"Have you spoken with Colonel Mitchell about the other matter?"
"No Sir."
"I'll speak with him."
"Yes Sir." Natalie says, bowing slightly as she walks away.
Opening the door to his office, he walks in and closes the door behind him. Walking over to the desk, he sits down at his desk and then flips on his desk lamp before he turns to the fax machine, dialing the number to the San Cristobel embassy in Washington; he picks up the phone and dials the number to the Ambassador's direct line. After a couple rings, he picks up. "San Cristobel Embassy, Ambassador Wainwright speaking."
"Max, this is Prince William."
"Yes Sir."
"I'm about to fax some paperwork to you for my nephew and his daughter." William says, pushing the send button.
"Yes sir."
"Make sure that it is given to them."
"Yes Sir."
"And inform them that I will be contacting the pilot to make arrangements to fly them down."
"Yes Sir."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, Sir."
"Have they come through?" William asks.
"They are coming through now Sir."
"Good, also inform my nephew that I will be contacting his father to let him know that everything is in order."
"Yes Sir."
"Thank you, Max."
"Yes Sir."
William hangs up and then dials the number for the farm. After a couple rings, Richard picks up the phone. "Hello."
"Richard, its William."
"Hi, how are you?"
"I'm holding in there. I've got time as far as the heir goes, but the country is wondering how this happened, as are you and Cassie."
"William I know these things takes time. We are not pressuring you to find answers right now."
"But you deserve the answers and I want to give them to you."
"Alright, have you learned anything?"
"No, I'm going to speak to Colonel Mitchell when I get off the phone with you."
"Okay, so…."
"You're wondering why I called?"
"Yeah, if you want to talk to Will, he's…."
"No, I think it's best if I don't speak to him right now. He needs to settle in and get adjusted to you and Cassie and being back at the farm."
"Okay, but he's going to want to talk to you William. You are still connected to him and you've been a large part of his life for a very long time."
"I know, but the reason I called, it's about the other son."
"Is…?"
"He's fine. But we have everything in order. I just spoke with the Ambassador and faxed over the documentation to them."
"Good, so everything is ready?"
"Yes, we have all the paperwork, with the official seals from San Cristobel. We've found a position at one of the company's on the other side of the island, where they will be living and have alias's for each of them."
"Thank you William. I know that this is a great risk for you and the country, should he find out."
"He's my family."
"I know, but I know what our father would have done. The country always came first for him, family was second."
"Then I'm glad I wasn't raised in the palace. Will you contact Reva?"
"Yes, I'll do that as soon as I get off the phone with you."
"Good, I'm going to go find Colonel Mitchell before I call it a night."
"Okay."
"I'll be in contact when I've learned something about Will and that situation."
"Okay, thank you again."
"You're welcome."
They hang up as Cassie walks into the farm house. "Richard." She calls.
"I'm in the study, darling."
Since he's come back, he's been spending a lot of time in there, trying to clean and organize all the stuff that Cassie had put in there. Most of the stuff was his private papers from San Cristobel, from either when he was Prince or President. Some of the stuff pertained to his time as Ambassador and he had faxed those papers to the Embassy in Washington.
"How are you doing?" Cassie asks, walking into the study
"I'm fine." He says, as she walks over and gives him a quick kiss before sitting down on the couch across from his desk.
"I dropped RJ off at Bryan's and Will is at day camp for the afternoon."
"Are you sure he's well enough to be around all those kids?"
"Yes, I asked Dr. Slater before I signed him up. And the camp has been informed of his condition and they will keep and eye on him. This will be good for him Richard. It'll make it easier for him when school starts next month because he'll already have made friends so he won't be the new kid. So what have you been doing?"
"Just going through my stuff. I think I'm about finished with everything in here. And when I'm finished with that, I think I'm going to schedule a meeting with Josh."
"Josh? Why?"
"I wanted to see if there are any positions I might be able to fill at Lewis. I know I don't know a lot about construction, but I'll take whatever he's willing to give me and we need the money. San Cristobel will pick up Will's hospital bill, but we have to get insurance for him, especially if he's going to have to see the Dr. Slater every few weeks."
"I think I can help with that."
"You can, how?"
"I talked to Olivia today at the Beacon. In fact I just left there."
"You did?"
"Yes, and I asked if I could go back to the Beacon, full time, and she said yes. I start tomorrow."
"Cassie, you don't…."
"Richard, we are partners remember. I can go to work at the Beacon in the morning after RJ and Will are settled. And when school starts, I'll take them to school and then I'll be home before they get home. And this way Will will be covered automatically because I never took him off my policy when he went to live with William. We won't have to wait for your probationary period for any job you get."
"Alright, but when we get things settled, if you want to go back to only working at the Beacon part time, you can."
"We'll see what's going on when that time comes."
"Alright, I spoke with William while you were gone."
"You did, did he…?"
"No, he doesn't have any answers on Will, but he called to tell me that everything is ready for Jon and Sarah."
"So, when do they leave?"
"I'm not really sure, as soon as possible I guess. He's going to contact the pilot to have the plane ready for whenever Jon's ready.
"Have you told Reva?"
"No, I was about to call her when you came in."
"I'll let you take care of that while I go finish getting things put away from San Cristobel."
"Okay."
Cassie gets up and leaves the room as Richard picks up the phone. Dialing Reva's number, he listens as the phone rings a few times before the answering machine picks up.
"Hey ya'll, this is Reva, and this is Josh. We're not home now, so leave us a message and we'll holler back."
The machine beeps and then Richard says. "Reva. It's Richard, call me when you get home, I've got news on… to tell you."
He hangs up and then goes back to sorting through the papers in the final boxes.
After finishing the meeting at two, Jeffrey looks through some papers that Stacey left on his desk over lunch. When he's finished with that, he picks up his jacket and briefcase and leaves the office. Stacey is sitting at her desk.
"I'm headed over to the police station and then I'll be headed home for the night so you can go on home."
"Yes Sir."
"Thanks and see you tomorrow."
"Okay."
Jeffrey leaves, walking out of city hall and across the quad to the police station. He walks in as Mallet walks through.
"Jeffrey." He says, stopping.
"What's gong on?"
"We did a raid on the south side of town, took down some major dealers. Picked up about 200lbs of marijuana, about 3 kilo's of cocaine and about 140 vials of formaldehyde and about $3000 dollars in cash and numerous weapons."
"Good, so the drug task force is…."
"Is doing wonderful. Of course, this is going to put extra pressure on the DA's office, especially with Doris locked up. So, what brings you over here?"
"Doris."
"Ah, her request to see you?"
"Yes, so can you have one of the officers bring her up to the holding room?"
"Sure, I'll send one down immediately."
"Thank you." Mallet goes to find and officer, while Jeffrey heads towards the holding room. He is sitting down at the table when the officer brings Doris in. "That will be all." Jeffrey says to the officer after he escorts Doris to her seat and handcuffs her to the chair.
"Is this really necessary?" Doris asks, nodding to the handcuffs.
"You know procedure Doris. Suspects are always to be…."
"Yes, and you're enjoying this a little too much O'Neill."
"Actually, I'm not enjoying this at all, considering I used to hold the position you had. Did you really think you and Alan would get away with it forever? Never mind, don't answer that. So, you asked to see me?"
"Yes, I want to cut a deal."
"You're not in a very good bargaining position Doris. We have too much on you, and your connection to Alan."
"Yes, but you know Alan, and you know that he'll find away to get out of this. I know things, things he doesn't know that I found out while we were married."
"Like what things?"
"He has a whole lot of people on his payroll, unofficially of course, but he keeps records of every transaction he does with them, everything from minor traffic violations to major Federal agents and judges."
"And how do you know all of this?"
"While I was married to Alan and he was in the hospital. I went through all his records, all his files. I was his wife after all. I saw payment schedules, amounts; everything."
"The federal government has searched Spaulding and his properties both here and abroad and we never found anything to back up what you're saying?"
"Of course not, the files are password protected encrypted files on his computer in San Cristobel and you have to have permission from Prince William to look at those files. William will not risk destroying one of his strongest connections to the US, and the US economy."
"I wouldn't count too much on Prince William's protection."
"I don't care, but look at his files in San Cristobel and you'll find out that I'm right, but you need to hurry. I'm sure Alan has already contacted his people and I'm sure that they are making plans to destroy any evidence that will further incriminate Alan and Spaulding Enterprises."
"Alright Doris, I'll make the necessary arrangements with Prince William."
"And what about me?"
"If what you say is true, I'll speak to the governor about making a deal."
"Immunity."
"We can't discuss particulars at this time, if the information checks out; we'll see what we can work out."
"You do realize what will happen to me if I go to prison. Do you want that on your head?"
"If you end up in prison and something happens to you Doris, it will not be on my head." Jeffrey stands up and walks to the door, turning he says. "I'll be in touch." Walking out of the room, he nods to the officer waiting outside. "You can take her back to her cell."
"Yes sir." He says walking into the room as Jeffrey walks down the stairs to the stations first floor.
Mallet and Frank were sitting at Mallet's desk, processing the paperwork on the bust when Jeffrey walks up." So, did she tell you the same thing she told me?" Mallet asks, looking up from the report he was typing up.
"She said that Alan has files on his computer in San Cristobel that shows payments to a wide range of public officials, everything from minor traffic violations to Federal Judges and agents. Is that what she said to you?"
"Pretty much, so what are you going to do?"
"I told her that I would contact William and get his permission to search the Spaulding estate and factory facilities down there."
"And the deal." Frank asks.
"Well, you know how it works Frank. If what she says turns out to be the truth, then I told her I would speak to the Governor about a deal."
"What is she asking for?"
"Immunity."
"With the evidence we have on her." Mallet says.
"That's why she's telling this, because she knows that we have her and she realizes that if she goes to prison, she'll be in serious danger in there. Half of her cellmates are people she put away, either legally or illegally. She has reason to worry."
"So, what are you going to do?" Frank asks.
"Like I said, I'm going to speak to William and if what she's saying is true, I'll speak to the Governor about a deal."
"Alright." Mallet says, as Frank nods.
"So, until I speak to William, I'm headed home for the evening." Jeffrey says, picking up his briefcase.
"Is Sam settling in?" Mallet asks
"She's doing fine."
"How's Ava. I hear she's… well that you're going to be a grandpa." Frank says.
"Yes."
"Well good luck."
"Thank you, I'll be in touch when I speak to William."
"Okay." Mallet says, as Jeffrey turns to walk away and he and Frank go back to processing the drug bust.
