A Fresh Start
Chapter Ninety-Eight
Gently caressing her cheek, before he turns to their guest. "We would like thank you all for coming. Unfortunately we can't stay here to celebrate so we are having the reception as Richard and Cassie's farm. If you could follow us over there we would appreciate celebrating this day with all of you." Jeffrey turns to Sam and asks. "Are you ready?"
She nods and everyone starts towards their cars. Their driver has the door to limo open as Jeffrey and Sam approach. Jeffrey helps her into the car and then follows her. Settling back as the driver closes the door and walks around to the other side. Opening the car door, he gets in and starts the car, while everyone gets into their cars. "You can go whenever everyone is ready?" Jeffrey says to the driver.
"Yes Sir." He replies.
Reaching for the button, Jeffrey closes the divider and then turns to Sam. "I love you." He says, reaching over to gently caress her cheek.
"I love you too." Sam says, smiling as she moves closer to him.
They sit there for a few moments before Jeffrey says. "You were worried your brother was going to object."
"I'm sure he thought about it."
"Would he really hurt you that way?"
"He wouldn't look at it that way, but yes he would do something like that."
"Why does he still hate you so much? I know about your father and how he turned you and him against each other, but your father has been gone a long time."
"I'm not exactly sure why brother feels the way he does." Sam says, as the driver pulls ways, followed by everyone else. Jeremiah is with LaKeisha and Megan in Sam's car.
"Is he jealous?"
"Possibly, I'm sure he thinks I abandoned him to live my own life. He may even possibly blame me for my mother's death and what happened when we were kids, I don't know. I've never asked him. He wouldn't give me a straight answer anyway."
"You've never wondered why he's so hostile toward you."
"Sure, I've wondered, but he's like my father. He would never be willing tell me why, or try to repair our relationship. I gave up trying." Sam says, turning to him. "I know it's hard to understand, but I don't want to think about him right now."
"No, I'm sorry." Jeffrey says, reaching for her. "It's our wedding day. We'll worry about this on another day." He says.
A few minutes later, they pull through the gates of the farm. Buzz and his staff have been at the farm since just before he, Richard and Jeremiah had left for the lighthouse. Buzz and Richard had been out there most of the day before building a place for everyone to dance, and sitting up the tables for the guests to sit at as well as filling the trees with strings of tiny white lights.
The reception is being held in the backyard between the house and the barn. It offers plenty of shade and is the perfect place to hold a gathering of this many people. On the table are bouquet's of wild flowers, and instead of having place sittings, everyone can sit wherever they want. Cassie spoke with the house orchestra for the Beacon and arranged for them to be there for the guests to dance to, as well as to play the first dance between Jeffrey and Sam as husband and wife. She had conned Frank into being the DJ after the orchestra left.
To the left of the dance floor are to chairs for Sam and Jeffrey to sit and behind them is a small table with one large wedding cake. Since they both liked chocolate, they decided to have only one cake. It was three layers of chocolate cake with white icing. The smallest layer has a tiny bride and groom. To uphold tradition the top layer of the cake would be removed and they will take it home to eat on their first anniversary. All the tables are covered with white table clothes. Between the house and the barn is a long buffet style table full of food. Buzz has waiters there waiting to serve everyone.
When they pull up to the house, the driver stops and then turns the car off. Getting out, he walks around the car and then opens the door. One of the reasons, Sam had come out to the farm the day before besides getting Jeffrey's guitar was to bring a change of clothes for them to change into before they went to the Beacon for their wedding night, and to leave their luggage for the next morning when they would leave for the honeymoon.
Getting out, Jeffrey turns to help Sam out as the other guests begin to arrive. The first ones to arrive is Richard and Cassie, followed by Ava and William and then Reva and Billy, along with Megan, LaKeisha and Jeremiah, followed by Frank, Gus, Harley and Chris. Once everyone has arrived, Richard and Cassie lead them around the house to the backyard. Sam sucks in a deep breath when she sees the backyard.
"It's beautiful." She whispers, watching the lights twinkling in the trees as the last rays of the sun fade from the sky. The sky is a golden pink, purple and blue. She looks up at Jeffrey and smiles. "This is beautiful."
"I know." Jeffrey replies, as Richard and Cassie walk up to them.
Once everyone has arrived, Richard steps up. "It's time to get this started." He says, turning to Jeffrey and Sam. "It's time for the first dance."
Jeffrey takes Sam's hand and leads her out to the dance floor. The orchestra begins to play as he takes her into his arms and they slowly begin to waltz. When the last note fades, Jeffrey leans over to kiss her as the orchestra begins to play another song and everyone joins them on the floor.
They dance a few dances and then Richard steps up. "Okay, it's time for the best man to make a toast. So Jeffrey, even though we've had our problems, you have been one of my best friends. You looked after Cassie and my kids when I wasn't able and I will always be grateful." As Jeffrey nods, he turns to Sam.
"Sam it's this simple. I owe you my life. I know you think you were only doing your job, but you saved my life. You gave it back to me and I thank you." Richard says, as she nods and smiles.
"I met Jeffrey after he lost you all those years ago so I didn't know both of you before then, but when he came to San Cristobel, he was in pain. He was reckless and wild and he only thought about was ways to take that pain away. There are only two reason a man does the things he was doing, either he's ashamed of himself and he doesn't believe he's worth living, or he's lost something he loved very much. The risks he took and the situations he put himself in showed me how much he loves you, and I'm proud to say that I still see that love in him when he looks at you now. And I'm proud to say that I see the love that you both feel for each other, everyone can see that love. So, everyone raise your glasses to Jeffrey and Sam. I hope you will be as happy as I have been with Cassie."
"To Jeffrey and Sam." Everyone replies, lifting their classes as Jeffrey turns to Sam and gives her a soft kiss.
"Do you want to cut the cake?" Jeffrey asks, stepping back.
"Sure." Sam replies, taking his hand.
She leads the way to the table with everyone gathering around them. Jeffrey takes the knife a piece of cake. They each take a piece and cross arms as Jeffrey looks at her and smiles. "Don't you do it?" Sam says, noticing the mischievous gleam in his eyes.
"I'm not going to do anything."
"I know, because I would hate to have you banished to the couch on our first night as a married couple."
"You wouldn't do that?"
"Do you really want to call my bluff?" Sam asks, leaning in and taking a bite of his cake.
"That isn't fair." Jeffrey says, as Sam laughs and feeds him the piece of cake in her hand.
He leans over to kiss her as she continues to laugh. "I'll make you pay for that later."
"Do you promise?" Sam asks, teasing him.
"Umm, you're bad." Jeffrey whispers, leaning in to kiss her again."
"Okay, you too, we would like some cake too." Reva says, as Jeffrey steps back.
Smiling, he cuts them each another piece of cake and then helps Sam over to one of the tables. They are just sitting down when Ava and William walk up. "Can we sit with you?" Ava asks.
"Sure." Sam says, nodding at the chairs across from them. "How have you been?" Sam asks Ava.
"I've been great." She replies, taking a bite of cake.
"What have you been doing since William's been in town?"
"Umm, well I've been showing him around Springfield and we've been talking." Ava replies.
"About what?" Jeffrey asks, looking at William.
"About the baby and what we plan to do after the vote. Well, specifically what I plan to do after the vote." William replies.
"And, what are you planning to do?" Jeffrey asks
"We haven't really made any concrete plans other than I will be moving to Springfield, so that I can be here for Ava and my child."
"Are you moving in together?" Jeffrey asks, as Jeremiah walks up.
"Would you mind if I sit with you?" He asks.
"Are you going to behave?" Sam asks, looking up.
Jeremiah bristles, but he replies. "I'll behave if you answer some questions for me." He says, looking at both of them.
"We don't have…."
"Sam, maybe we should answer his questions." Jeffrey says, nodding for Jeremiah to sit down.
"Fine, what do you want to know?" Sam asks, as Jeremiah sits down and William gets up
"I'll be right back. I'm going to speak to Richard." He says, as everyone nods.
"How did you meet?" Jeremiah asks, drawing everyone's attention back to him.
"At the agency, we were partners." Sam says.
"And why did you feel like you had to fake your death to get away from him?"
"I didn't fake my death to get away from him. I was protecting him, the agency and the other agents I was working with. I was told my cover was blown and it was the agreement we made with each other after we became involved."
"Why would you need that sort of agreement and why did you think your cover was blown?"
"It was the nature of the work we did. We loved each other, but we promised to sacrifice ourselves to protect the other. I was told by one of the girls at the club where we were investigating that my cover was blown. To protect Jeffrey and everyone that was with us, I faked my death and I came home. Why are you asking so many questions?"
"I wanted to make sure he told me the truth?"
"Why would he lie to you?"
"He's not one of…."
"Don't Jeremiah…." Sam leans in. "…not every one of your precious "churchgoing Christians" are as good as you seem to think they are. Jeffrey had nothing to do with what happened in Russia and I resent the fact…." Jeffrey can hear the agitation in her voice.
Standing up, he says, reaching for her hand. "Come on, let's dance."
"I'm…."
"Sam." He says, and she looks up. Reading the look in his eyes, she stands up and follows him out to the dance floor.
Shortly after Jeffrey and Sam leave the table William comes back. Sitting down, he asks. "Where are Sam and Jeffrey?"
"They're dancing." Ava says, nodding towards the dance floor.
"Oh, how are you?" William asks, turning his attention to Jeremiah.
"I'm fine, thank you."
"How do you know Jeffrey and Sam?" William asks.
"Sam is my sister. How do you know them?"
"Richard is my brother and Jeffrey was his bodyguard for a while in San Cristobel when he was an active agent for the agency." William says, as Ava stands up.
"I'll be right back?" Ava says, as William nods.
"And what do you know of him?" Jeremiah asks.
"He's a good man. And he deeply loves your sister. He's protective of her, but you must know that and you must be very excited."
"About what?"
"About the wedding and the baby."
"The baby."
"Yes."
"What baby?"
"Sam didn't tell you she's pregnant."
"No, she didn't. Will you excuse me?" Jeremiah asks, standing up. He walks away without waiting for William's reply.
When they reach the dance floor, Sam moves into Jeffrey's arms and she feels herself begin to relax. After a while she looks up and says. "I'm sorry, he just gets to me."
"You're fine, but you can't let him get to you. It's not good for you or the baby."
"I know. It's just that it's the same thing over and over. I'm tired of hearing it. I heard it growing up. I heard it when I went home. I heard it when I came back from Russia and when I went home for Gran's funeral and I'm tired of it. He's hanging on to all the…."
Jeffrey sees the she's getting worked up again, so he says as he pulls her closer. "Its okay, what he thinks doesn't matter."
"Are you sure about that?" Sam asks, looking up
"Yes, you are a wonderful, loving, accomplished woman. I wouldn't have you anyway but the way you are. I love you and I'm proud of you and it doesn't matter if he agrees with the choices you made."
"Okay." Sam says, laying her head on his chest.
A few moments later, the dance ends and they are walking off the dance floor when Jeremiah walks up to them. "What do...?"
"Is it true?" Jeremiah asks
"Is what true?" Sam asks
"Is it true that you're pregnant? Who's the father?" Jeremiah demands
"I'm the father." Jeffrey says.
"You got her pregnant, is that why you got married? You had to marry her."
"I didn't…." Jeffrey says
"And what are you going to do when he walks away from you?" Jeremiah asks, turning to Sam.
"First of all he will not walk away from me, like you have."
"I didn't walk away from you." Jeremiah yells. "Dad was right about you."
"What the hell does that mean?"
"He always said you were a slut, just like…." Jeremiah didn't see Jeffrey swing until he's lying on the ground and Jeffrey is reaching down to pull him back up.
"Apologize to her, now!"
"I won't apologize to that whore." Jeremiah says and Jeffrey punches him again, while everyone watches.
"Stop it, both of you." Sam says, looking around and then turns towards the house as Richard walks up.
"Sam, wait." Jeffrey says. "Escort him off the property and out of town." Jeffrey says, to one of the agents, as he turns to go after Sam. He meets Meagan going in the house. "Let me." He says, opening the back door. Meagan nods and then turns to go back to the reception.
"Sam." Jeffrey says, walking into the living room. He finds her sitting on the edge of the fireplace, with her head bowed and her hands over her face. He can see her body shaking as she cries. "Sh, Beca." He says, taking her in his arms. It's okay, and I'm sorry. I shouldn't've hit him but I couldn't let him talk to you that way. I love you and you mean more to me than anything I have or will ever have. You don't deserve…."
"I'm not mad at you for hitting him. That, I actually thought was funny." Sam says, pulling back.
"So, why are you crying?"
"First, my brother just called me a whore in front of our friends. On top of that, he said my father thought I was a slut and he just told everyone that I'm pregnant. Well, that doesn't bother me so much, but I wish they hadn't heard the rest of it because it's going to be all over town now, everyone including Olivia will know in a matter of days, and if she went ballistic over the wedding imagine what she'll do when she finds out I'm carrying your child and on top of all that it's my wedding day and my brother just ruined it." Sam says reaching up to wipe the tears away that are still falling.
"It's not all that bad… okay he called you a whore and what he said about your father. I can't imagine any father thinking that about his little girl, let alone saying it out loud. But our friends know better than to listen to what he said."
"He called me a whore and slut in front of everyone."
"And he obviously doesn't know you, but our friends do. Richard, Cassie, Reva, Billy Megan, LaKeisha, everyone out there knows you and they know that you are everything but what your brother just said. As to the town knowing you're pregnant, well they were going to know in a few months anyway."
"And Olivia, finding out." Sam says, looking down
"I'll handle Olivia, don't worry about her." Jeffrey says, moving till he can look her in the eye. "And the only way your brother will ruin this day, is if you let him. He has his opinion, you can't change that, so what does it matter. We both know the truth."
She moves over onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck she hugs him. "I love you." She mumbles, burying her face in his neck.
"I love you too." Jeffrey replies, holding her. After a little bit, he leans back and asks. "You ready to go back outside."
"Sure." She says, reaching up to wipe her face. "I have to look terrible."
"You're beautiful." Jeffrey says, leaning over to kiss her. Sitting back he says, "Come on, let's go."
"Just give me a minute to straighten this up." She says, standing up.
"You know where the bathroom is?"
"Yes, I'll be right back."
She walks into the bathroom and closes the door. About ten minutes later, after hearing the toilet flush, she opens the door and walks out. "Are you okay? You didn't get…."
"No, I didn't get sick. I had to go to the bathroom." Sam says, looking up at him.
"Okay, are you ready?"
"Sure." She says, nodding as he takes her hand and leads her back outside. As he's opening the door, she asks. "Where's my brother?"
"I had him escorted off the property." Jeffrey says in a tone that says don't argue with me.
"Okay." She replies, moving closer to him as he walks out with her following behind him.
Sam clings to Jeffrey's hand as she moves closer to him. Releasing her hand, he pulls her to him as he puts his arm across her shoulders. When they walk into the backyard, William meets them. "Sam, I'm sorry." He says.
"For what?" Sam asks.
"I told him about the baby."
"You told him." Jeffrey says, "After the problems we've had with him, why would you do that?" Jeffrey accuses as Ava walks up.
"I didn't know he didn't know."
"You were there when he tried to physically remove her for the wedding. Why would you…?"
"He didn't…." Ava says, but William steps in.
"It's okay." William says, turning to Ava. "He's right I should have realized that he would make a scene."
"No, it's not. You didn't know and my father is only behaving like he is because he doesn't like you being here with me."
"It's okay." Sam says. "You didn't know." She says to William. "And you need to relax." She says, turning to Jeffrey, as the others walk up.
"Are you okay?" Megan asks.
"I'm fine, I'm sorry…."
"You don't have to apologize." Cassie says. "He shouldn't have said what he did, and he obviously doesn't know you."
"That's right, come on you know your brother." Megan says, reaching for her and hugging her. "You know how he is and no one here believes anything he said."
"That's right." Everyone says, nodding.
"Thank you." Sam says.
"So, let's get back to celebrating." Richard says.
"Yes, it's time we toss the bouquet." Cassie says.
"Why? You're already married." Richard says, teasing her.
"I know, and I would marry you all over again." Cassie says, leaning in to kiss him.
"Alright, let's do this." Jeffrey says, taking Sam's hand.
"Okay, ladies, gather around, only the single ones." Sam says, looking over at Cassie and smiling. Cassie smiles back as Sam turns her back to the group of ladies standing behind her. "Okay, are you ready?" Sam asks.
"Yes." They reply.
Taking her bouquet, she tosses it over her head and it falls into Ava's hands as everyone claps, all except Jeffrey as he glances at William. Sam turns around and sees Ava holding the bouquet and she glances at Jeffrey.
"Okay, it's time to toss the garter, so all you single guys gather around." Richard says, stepping up.
Frank and William step up, along with Chris and Buzz and some of the staff working for Buzz as Jeffrey walks over to Sam with a chair. He sits down and then looks up at her. Slipping her shoe off, she places her foot on his leg. Reaching under her skirt, he finds the garter and slowly he pulls it down, while he watches her.
When he reaches her ankle, she lifts her foot. Pulling off the garter, she puts her foot down as he gets up. Leaning over, he kisses her. As he steps back, he whispers. "We'll finish this later."
"Yes, we will." Sam replies, looking up at him
Jeffrey swallows and then he turns to the guys. "Okay, are you ready?" He asks, as he turns his back to them.
Taking the garter, he glances at Sam before he tosses it over his shoulder and it falls into William's hands as everyone begins to clap. Jeffrey turns around and sees William holding the garter and he looks at Ava and starts to frown. Sam sees the look on his face and reaches out to him, shaking her head no as William walks over to Ava.
"Okay, now that the formalities are over with, let's party." Richard says.
"Before we do, I would like to get out of this dress." Sam says, looking at Jeffrey.
"Alright, I'll send the orchestra home for the night." Cassie says.
"Thank you. We'll only be gone a few minutes." Sam says, taking Jeffrey's hand and leading him towards the house.
Cassie turns to Frank. "Did you bring the stuff?"
"It's in my car." Frank replies. "I'll need some help sitting up."
"We'll help." Richard says, looking at William.
"Sure." He says, putting the garter in his pocket as he squeezes Ava's hand.
Jeffrey follows Sam into the house. Cassie and Richard had given them the guest room to change in. It had actually been Tammy's old room when she was living at home, but a few months before Cassie had packed up all of her things that she had left and turned it into a guest room. As Sam walks into the bedroom she says. "You have to back off of William and Ava."
"Sam, he's…."
"He's what, what do you have against him exactly?" Sam asks, turning to him.
"He's not stable and I don't want her hurt."
"You mean he's a lot like you."
"I'm not…."
"Not now, but you were before. William is a good guy. And he's going to need someone to help him adjust to being a civilian again."
"Why does it have to be my daughter? Why did he have to pick her?"
"I believe your daughter picked him. You're worrying about something that may not even happen." Sam says, walking up to him and wrapping his arms around him.
"Okay, fine. But I don't have to like it. And from the look on their face when he walked over to her, I say it will happen."
"Maybe it will, but you do have to let her choose."
"Fine." Jeffrey says, as she smiles and leans up to kiss him.
"Good, now can you help me out of this dress?" She asks, turning her back to him.
"Okay." Jeffrey says, smiling."
"That is for later." Sam says, turning around and he reaches to help her.
A few minutes later, Jeffrey walks up to her and wraps his arms around her. "This has been an amazing day."
"Yes it has, even with my brother."
"You do not have to worry about your brother."
"I'm not." Sam says, laying her head on his chest.
Jeffrey holds her for a few moments, before he says. "Do you think they will miss us?"
"Yes, why?"
"Because I want to stay here like this, holding you." He says, leaning over and kissing her.
Sighing softly, she reaches up and wraps her arms around his neck as he deepens the kiss. When he reaches for her waist, slipping his hands under her shirt, she breaks the kiss. "We can't do this here."
"Sam!" He groans.
"We can't and not just because everyone is waiting for us downstairs. This is Cassie's guest room I don't think she intends for us to use it like that." Sam replies, stepping back.
"Alright." He sighs. "Besides, it would be a little weird doing that in here." Jeffrey says, looking around.
"Why?"
"Because this used to be Tammy's room." He replies, reaching for her hand.
"Really." Sam asks, following him out of the room.
"Yes, I guess Cassie packed up her stuff and turned it into a guest room." Jeffrey says, as they walk downstairs.
"I didn't realize that." Sam says, as they walk out of the house.
While they have been changing, Richard and William have been helping Frank setup the DJ equipment he brought. When Jeffrey and Sam walk around the house, Jeffrey stops and stares before he starts to laugh. "DJ Frank." He says walking over to the table that Frank is sitting behind.
"Yes and it's no different than the rockin Mayor, so what would you like to hear, something slow for you and your lady to dance to."
"Do you have Feels Like Home?" Sam asks.
"From the best chic movie in a very long time, at least that's what my daughter tells me. I think secretly she has a huge crush on Matthew McConaughey."
"Dad!" Marina says, walking up to them.
"You're supposed to warn me when you coming up behind me." Frank says, turning to Marina.
"If I warn you, how else do I learn what you're saying about me?"
Frank ignores her and turns to Sam. "Yes, I've got the song." He says hitting a few buttons on his computer and the songs begins to play.
Taking her hand, Jeffrey leads Sam out onto the dance floor. Slowly they begin to dance. When the song ends, Frank picks the tempo up and plays Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge and when that song ends Jeffrey leans in and whispers. "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir."
"You're bad." Sam replies, leaning up to kiss him. "That's one of the reasons I love you."
"Only one of the reasons."
"Oh there are others, but I can't tell you all of them."
"Can you show me?"
"Over and over again." Sam replies, leaning up to kiss him.
"Can we go now?" He asks when she steps back.
She smiles and then replies. "A little bit longer."
Over the next hour, they dance several songs together. And when they're not dancing, they are talking and eating. Jeffrey is standing with Richard, Frank, Gus and William talking, when he looks up and sees Sam watching him. He smiles at her as Cassie walks up to him. "Jeffrey." She says.
"Yeah." He says, distracted as he watches Sam.
"Here." Cassie says, holding something out to him.
Jeffrey looks down and then looks at her. "What is it?"
"The key to the honeymoon suite at the Beacon. Olivia's on duty tonight, so go in through the back entrance, through the kitchen and the service elevator." Cassie says, as he takes the key.
"She knows we're staying there."
"Yes."
"Then we'll go in the front…."
"I think you've both had enough confrontations today." Cassie says, looking at Sam.
"I think you're right." Jeffrey replies, looking up and over at Sam.
"You're both very lucky." Cassie says, following his gaze.
"I'm the lucky one. I have her back again."
"She told what me you gave her for the wedding."
"She wanted it."
"It was sweet." Cassie says, leaning up to kiss his cheek as Richard walks up.
"Am I interrupting?" He asks.
"No, I was giving Jeffrey the key to the honeymoon suite." Cassie replies.
"If you're through, can I have this dance?"
"Certainly." Cassie says, taking his hand and walking away. Jeffrey watches them and then turns to find Sam.
Her back is to him and she's talking to Megan, Marina and LaKeisha. He stands there for a while watching her before one of the agents from Chicago comes up to him. "Is there a problem?" Jeffrey asks.
"No, everything is fine."
"Where did you take him?"
"To the airport, and we stayed until he boarded the plane and it took off."
"So he's on his way back to Georgia."
"Yes Sir."
"Good, thank you." Jeffrey says, as the man nods and Jeffrey looks over at Sam and finds her watching him.
"Would you guys excuse me?" Sam asks, turning to the girls.
"Sure." They reply, looking up to see what Sam had been looking at.
Sam leaves, walking across the lawn to where Jeffrey is standing. "Is everything okay?" She asks, walking up to him.
"Yes, he was only giving me an update."
"Anything wrong?"
"No, you're brother is on an airplane back to Georgia." Jeffrey says.
She looks up in surprise. "They took him to the airport."
"Yes."
"Okay."
"Do you know what this is?" Jeffrey asks, holding up the card Cassie gave him.
"No, what?"
"It's the key to the honeymoon suite at the Beacon."
"Oh."
"Are you ready to go?" Jeffrey asks, reaching up and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Let me tell Megan and LaKeisha good-bye." Sam replies.
"I'll tell Cassie and Richard." Jeffrey says.
"Okay." Sam walks away to find the girls while Jeffrey goes to find Richard and Cassie.
A few minutes later, they meet in front of the dance floor. Everyone gathers around. "We want to thank all of you for coming today." Jeffrey says.
"Yes, thank you. It means so much to both of us."
"You guys continue to enjoy the party but if you don't mind. I think I'm going to take my wife away and have my way with her." Jeffrey says, putting his arm around her as everyone laughs.
"Jeffrey." Sam says, hiding her face.
"They expect it, Beca." He says, laughing. "Come on." He says, bending down and sweeping her up in his arms as everyone claps.
He starts walking towards the car with everyone throwing birdseed over them. Sitting Sam down, he opens the car door and helps her in before he walks around the car. Sometime during the afternoon, their luggage had been moved from the guest room to Sam's car. Getting in, Jeffrey starts the car. "Thank you." Sam calls, waving as he pulls away.
