A Fresh Start
Chapter One Hundred Eight
Lying down beside her, Jeffrey takes a deep breath. "Maybe I should never get dressed." He says, as she moves over beside him.
"I like you either way." Sam says, kissing his shoulder as she snuggles in closer to him.
They lay there for a few moments before he looks down and realizes that she's fallen asleep. Smiling he reaches for the covers and pulls them up. Rolling to his side, he lays there for a while watching her sleep. He finally gets up and goes to the bathroom before slipping his boxers and jeans on. Walking over to the couch, he takes the remote and turns the TV on. Tuning into a baseball game, he settles back to watch the game until it's time for them to leave for the tour.
Around one thirty, Sam rolls over as she wakes up. "J." she says, looking around when she doesn't see him beside her. When she sits up, she sees him on the couch. She looks at the clock as she gets out of bed, realizing the time she reaches for his shirt and slips it on as she goes over to him. When she reaches the couch, she reaches out and shakes him, saying. ""J, wake up, we missed the tour."
"What?" He asks groggily, reaching up to rub his face with his hands before he looks up to her standing over him in his shirt with her hair slightly messed up from sleep.
"We missed the tour." She says again.
"He sits up and asks "What time is it?"
"After one thirty."
"I didn't mean to fall asleep." He says, stretching.
"Did I wear you out that much?" Sam asks, sitting down beside him.
"No, I was letting you sleep until it was time for us to go. I sat down to watch the game and I guess I fell asleep too."
"Will there be another tour later today?"
"No, they might have one tomorrow, but we can still go over to the Canadian falls or we can stay here." Jeffrey replies, looking over at her.
She leans over to him. "Why do you want to stay here?" She asks, watching him.
"Because you look good in my shirt." Jeffrey says, leaning in to kiss her.
After a few moments, she leans back. "We have a thing for clothes today."
"Or lack of clothes." He replies, slipping his hands under his shirt.
"Umm, yes." Sam says leaning in to kiss him again.
Reaching for her, he pulls her to him as he deepens the kiss. Wrapping his arms around her he buries his hands in her hair as he lies back against the arm of the couch. She pulls away after a few moments, struggling to catch her breath as she kneels over him.
He looks up and smiles as he reaches up. Softly caressing her cheek, he says. "I love seeing that look in your eyes."
"What look?"
"The look that says you want me."
Bracing her hand on the arms of the couch as she leans in and kisses him. "I will always want you." She whispers, nibbling on his lower lip as he opens his mouth and her tongue slips inside.
Reaching for the t-shirt, he pulls it up. Slowly moving his hands up her back he fills her shiver. When he reaches her upper arms, she leans back and he pulls the shirt over her head. Dropping it behind her, he looks up at her as he moves his hand up her sides, caressing her.
She looks down, watching his hands. Reaching for her breasts, he cups them, running his finger over her nipples. "J." She moans softly.
Closing her eyes, she lets her head fall forward as she reaches for his hands, holding him against her. For a few moments, he continues until she opens her eyes and looks down at him. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulls her to him. Softly he licks her nipples while she moans. She grips the couch. Leaning in, she kisses the side of his neck, moving up to his ear.
The sound of her breathing rushes through him as he reaches up and buries his fingers in her hair. Relishing the difference in the heat of her breath against his neck and the coolness of her hair as it falls through his fingers. Lying back, he closes his eyes, letting her nibble on his ear for a few moments.
Sitting back, she looks down, watching him. His eyes have faded to a pale green. She moves back, slowly moving her hand down his chest, lightly scratching him. He sucks in a deep breath, closing his eyes again. She leans over him when she reaches his waist. She lightly kisses him before she moves over to his neck. Moving down his chest, she softly kisses him. He takes a deep breath when she kisses his nipple. "Beca." He groans, shifting his hips.
She looks up, watching him for few seconds. He reaches up and brushes her hair back so he can watch. After a couple minutes, she moves on. Lightly kissing her way across his lower chest and abdomen. She listens as he struggles to catch his breath. She looks up as she runs her tongue over his navel.
He shifts his hips again as he reaches for her, burying his hands in her hair again, he holds her to him while he fights for control. She stays there for a couple moments, playing with him. Warm swells of desire rush over him. Reaching for her, he moves his hand down her body. Stopping at her breasts, he caresses them until she moves out of his reach. She reaches for his jeans, opening the first button and then she pulls the rest free, sitting up as he sighs softly.
Their gazes connect as he reaches up and moves his hands down her body, caressing her but never staying in one place too long. He plays with her nipples for a couple seconds before he moves down to her lower abdomen. "I love you." He whispers, softly moving his hands over her stomach. Slipping his fingers between her thighs, he softly caresses her. It's enough for her to be aware of what he's doing but it's not enough to bring her release.
"J." She moans, moving her hips against his hand as he looks up
Shifting his hips, he continues to touch her, caressing her until she lays her hand over him Reaching for him, she tries to pull him free, but he's too over the edge. He arches his hips as she reaches again for the waist of his jeans, tugging on them.
He releases her as he reaches to help pull his jeans off, taking his boxers with them. He kicks them off as she reaches for him. Wrapping her hand around him she feels his desire expand as she caresses him. "Beca, I need you! Please." He begs, as he reaches for her.
She moves up into his arms, leaning over him. They kiss as she takes him and guides him inside. She moans when she feels their bodies connecting again. "Oh, J." She groans, as he holds onto her hips.
Purposely she begins to move, sliding her hips back and forth as he holds onto them, trying to control her but falling into her desire to control him. Soon their rhythm increases and then she rides him, bracing her hands on his chest, she lifts her hips and then bring them down, taking him as deeply as she can.
He gives her as much as she's giving him, thrusting against her, holding onto her hips as they both push the other one towards their release. He feels hers and wrapping his arms around her he sits up. Wrapping her legs around him, she closes her eyes, savoring each swell of desire that rolls over her. Laying her down, he braces his hands on the cushions beneath her as he begins to thrust. Rolling swells of her release rush over him, adding to the desire that fills him as he buries his body deep within hers with each thrust.
A few short minutes later, his release erupts from deep inside him, surging through him and filling them both with staggering waves of heat while she clings to him. When the last wave rolls over them, he lays down on top of her. His warm breath feels cools against her neck and shoulder as she holds him.
She sighs softly. Wrapping his arms around her, they hold each other for a few moments before he kisses her temple. "Was that good enough to stay here for?" Sam asks, smiling.
"Umm, I don't know."
"What!" Sam says, pulling back.
"I said I don't know if that was good enough to stay here." Jeffrey says, fighting to stay serious.
"That's not what you're supposed to say." Sam says, sitting up and crossing her arms.
When she does that Jeffrey realizes that she's mad and he gives up teasing her. "Sam, I was…."
"You're saying I'm not good." Sam says, moving away from him.
"No, no, Sam." He says, reaching for her. She pulls away from him with tears in her eyes. "No, Sam. Calm down, that's…."
"Calm down, you just said that I wasn't good enough to stay home for."
"I love you, everything about you and everything that you do to me. No one and nothing can make me as happy as you do."
"But you said…." She says sniffing.
"I was teasing you." He says, reaching for her. She lets him pull her into his arms. "I promise on his life." He says, laying his hand on her stomach. "That I do not want anyone but you, no one." He says, looking into her eyes.
"Okay." She says, sniffing.
He wraps his arms around her. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you."
"I'm sorry I overreacted." She replies, hugging him.
They hold each other for a few moments before he leans back and says. "We can go to the falls if you want to?"
"No, I think you're right. I feel like staying here today."
"Okay." He replies, sitting back as she lays her head on his shoulder.
Ava pulls away from William. "I wanted to do this when I saw you at Company." She says, looking up at him.
"Me too, but I didn't want to push you and for some reason I don't think your father would have appreciated that."
"I know, but if we're going to be a couple this part of it, right." Ava says, watching him.
"Yes."
"And we're going to be parents…."
"You don't have to justify what we just did." He pauses for a few moments before he continues. "We care about each other and we're adults. Where ever this is going, it's between you and I and we're the only ones that needs to be satisfied with being together."
"Okay." Ava says, leaning back against him.
They lay there together for a while holding each other. When the phone in the suite begins to ring, they look at it before William pulls away from her. "I'll get it." He says, getting up. Walking across the room, he reaches for the phone as Ava sits up. "Hello." William says.
"Sir, it's time to go." One of his aides says.
"Okay." William says, glancing at the clock. "We'll be down in few moments." William says.
"Yes Sir."
William hangs up as Ava asks. "Who was that?"
"One of my aides, its time for me to go." William says, reaching for his clothes.
"Oh." Ava says, reaching for her clothes as well.
They get dressed before William picks up the phone and calls down to the front desk. "Yes, may I help you?" The clerk asks, picking up the phone.
"Yes, this is Prince William. I need a bellmen sent up to the penthouse suite to pick up my luggage."
"Yes sir, right away Sir." The clerk says, signaling for one of the bellmen.
"Thank you." William says hanging up the phone as Ava comes back in the room. "The bellmen will be up for the luggage in a few moments." William says, as she walks in.
"Okay."
A few moments later, there is a knock on their door. William goes to answer it as Ava makes sure they've gotten everything. A couple moments later, they leave, followed by the bellmen. When the luggage is loaded into the car, they leave for the airport.
When they arrive the driver gets out and comes around to open the door for them. William gets out and then helps Ava out before he turns to the driver. "I want to wait and take Ms. Peralta back to Company."
"Yes Sir." The driver replies as he nods.
William puts his arms around her and they walk towards the plane. He walks into the middle cabin with Ava following him. "Wow!" Ava says, looking around. "You get to fly like this all the time."
"I do now. It'll go away when the new government takes over."
"Will you miss this?"
"No, well maybe a little bit." William says, smiling as when she looks at him.
"What are you going to do after the vote?"
"I don't know. I'm coming to Springfield but after that I don't know what I'll do." William says, as the phone buzzes beside them and he reaches for it. "Yes."
"Sir, we're ready for take off." The Captain says
"Okay." William says, hanging up the phone. "We're ready to go." He says, turning to Ava.
"Okay." She says, standing up with him following her. She turns to leave as William reaches for her.
"You will be okay. You won't let Olivia get to you."
"I'll be fine."
"And you will call at anytime for any reason."
"Yes, I'll be fine and I'll call you."
"Okay." He says, pulling into his arms. "I'll be back as soon as I can. And if you need anything I want you to call me."
"I will." Ava says, putting her arms around him.
They stand there for several minutes before Ava steps back and says. "You need to go."
"I can stay a little longer."
"You've got to…."
"Sh." He says, laying a finger across her mouth before he leans in to kiss her.
Breaking the kiss a few moments later, she lays her head on his chest as he wraps his arms around her. After a few moments, she leans back and says. "You really need to go."
"I know." He replies, releasing her. She turns for the front cabin with him following her. "I'll call you when I get to the palace."
"Okay." Ava says, turning in the doorway. "Be careful."
"I will and try to keep Olivia at bay, don't let her get to you."
"I will and Dad will be home next week, so he'll be here."
"Okay." Ava starts to leave when William reaches for her again, pulling her to him. They hug and then he leans back and kisses her again. He steps back after a few moments and says. "I call you."
"Okay." Ava replies before she leans up and kisses him softly before releasing him. She leaves the plane as he stands in the doorway.
When she reaches the tarmac she turns and waves at him before the crew closes the door. He goes back to the middle cabin and sitting down on the couch closest to her he waves as the plane begins to taxi. She watches until the jet takes off and then she turns to for the car. Getting in, the driver closes the door and they leave the airport for Company.
Richard and Cassie barely make it back to the farm before the boys arrive home from school. The evening is spent helping RJ with his homework and getting the boys ready for school the next day. Cassie is quiet most of the time and when Richard puts Will to bed he asks. "Daddy, is Mommy okay?"
"Yes, why would you ask that?"
"Because she was quiet tonight and she seems sad, and she didn't scold RJ and me when we were arguing."
"She's fine but she has a lot on her mind today. I'm sure she'll be fine tomorrow."
"Okay."
"Go to sleep." Richard says, tucking him in."
"Yes sir." Will says, snuggling down into the covers. "I love you and tell Mommy I love her too."
"I love you too and I will tell her." Richard says, leaning over to kiss his forehead.
He leaves and checks on RJ, who's already in bed asleep. He pulls the covers up and then turns his lamp off before he leaves the room.
Cassie is coming out of the bathroom when Richard walks in. "Are the boys in bed?" She asks.
"Yes." He replies walking into the closet. He comes out with his pajama bottoms. "I'll be right back. I'm going to take a shower."
"Okay." She says, sitting down on the bed.
About fifteen minutes later, he walks out of the bathroom. Walking over to the bed, he gets in as Cassie turns to him. "Come here." He says, holding his arm up. She moves over to him, laying her head on his chest as he says. "It's going to be okay."
"I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. How I'm supposed to feel. I've dreamed about this day, but now that it's here I'm lost, completely lost."
"You have to take it one day at a time."
"What if he wants us to move to Europe or something?"
"Then we'll discuss it with the boys and we'll decide what to do."
"The boys, that's another thing, how do I explain this to them. I don't know where to begin."
"We'll tell them the truth. Cassie none of this is your fault. And you don't have to rush anything. In fact, it's probably a good idea to take this slow and make sure he is what he claims to be."
"You don't believe that he's my father." Cassie says, leaning up to look at him.
"I have questions. And I don't want you to get your hopes up and get attached to him and it turns out that he's not your father." Richard says, moving to his side. "I know you want to know about him. I just think you need to go slow and do the DNA test."
"I'll do the test, but something tells me to believe him."
"Okay." Richard says, as she lays back down on her side and he moves in behind her, putting his arm across her waist and pulling her back to him. "Will asked if you were okay?"
"He did, why?"
"Because he noticed that you were quiet tonight and you didn't scold them when they were arguing earlier."
"Do I need to go talk to him?" Cassie asks, moving away from him.
"It's okay. I explained that you have a lot on your mind." Richard says, reaching out to stop her. "He's asleep now anyway. So lie down and relax, you're tired." He says, pulling her back to him.
"I know. I feel like I haven't slept in weeks. I don't understand it."
"Maybe you should go see the doctor."
"I'm fine. I just feel tired. A lots been happening, Jeffrey and Sam's wedding, planning our wedding, the Beacon and the boys, I've been busy and I'll feel better when things settle down and we don't have so much to do."
"Alright, go on to sleep and we'll deal with everything else in the morning."
"Can you sing to me?"
"You hate my singing."
"It's not that bad and it's better than mine."
"Well that's true."
"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying I can see why RJ used to cry when you would sing in the car."
"That's not funny?" Cassie mumbles.
"Go to sleep and we'll take care of everything in the morning." Richard says, smiling as he runs his finger through her hair.
Cassie sighs softly, snuggling in closer to him. "I love you." She mumbles.
"I love you too." Richard replies, still playing with her hair.
Julie is sitting at a booth in Al's dinner when Dr. Westbrook walks in. When he see her sitting there, he walks over to her. "Hello." He says when she looks up.
"Hi."
"Do you mind?" He asks, nodding to at the empty seat across from her.
"No, it's fine." Julie says, as he sits down.
"We haven't been introduced. I'm Dr. Jacob Westbrook." Jacob says, holding out his hand.
"I'm Julie." Julie says, shaking his hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Jacob says, as the waitress walks up to their table.
"What can I get you?" She asks, pulling out her pad as she looks at Jacob.
"I'll have Al's special with a coke." Jacob says, as she scribbles down his order on her pad.
"One, Al's special coming up." She says, turning away.
"So, how are you settling into Oakdale?" Jacob asks, returning his attention to Julie.
"I'm settling in fine." Julie replies, taking a drink.
"Are you from Oakdale?"
"I lived here until my first husband passed away and then I remarried. After that I moved to Chicago.
"I'm sorry to hear about your husband's death."
"Thank you."
"So, you're returning home."
"Yes." Julie replies, as he nods.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your husband?"
"He was killed in a car accident about five years ago." Julie says.
"What was his name?"
"Matthew Winslow."
"Matty was your husband?"
"Yes, you knew him."
"We went to school together. He was a class behind me though. He as a great guy, always personable and friendly. Everyone loved him."
"Thank you." Julie says, reaching for her purse as she stands up.
"You have to go?"
"Yes, I'm on my lunch break. It was nice to see you."
"You too." Jacob says, watching her walk away. He watches as she walks to her car and he sees the man from the Lakeview walk up to her.
Julie's about to get into her car when someone reaches out to stop her. "What? Marciano, what are you doing here?"
"I want to know what this is?" He asks, holding up a letter.
"It looks like a letter." Julie says.
"I know it's a letter, it's from your lawyer advising me of the date for our divorce. We're not getting divorced."
Jacob is still watching the scene outside when the waitress brings his lunch. "Could you put that in a to go box?" Jacob asks, not taking his eyes of Julie.
"Yes sir." The waitress replies, taking the food away.
She returns a few moments later with the box and check. Jacob takes the food and hands her some cash before he walks out, not waiting for his change.
"…yes we are." Jacob hears Julie say to the man as he walks up. "Are you okay?" He asks her.
"She's fine." Marciano says, turning to Jacob.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to hear that from her." Jacob says, turning to Julie.
"I'm her husband and I say whether she's fine or not." Marciano says, while Jacob ignores him. "Excuse me." Marciano says, pulling Jacob around.
"Marciano, stop." Julie says, reaching to stop him.
"You stay out of this." He says, pushing Julie back against her car.
"That's enough." Jacob says, pulling Marciano back.
Marciano swings around and punches him in the jaw as Julie reaches out to stop him. He grabs Julie's arms and pulls her with him as Jacob staggers back, dropping his lunch and spilling it on the ground as he shakes his head.
"Marciano, let me go." Julie cries, trying to pull away.
"No, you're coming home where you belong." Marciano says, pulling her behind him to his car. He's trying to force Julie into the car when Jacob grabs him and pulls him back.
Marciano swings around and then swings again. Jacob ducks and then punches him in stomach before punching him in the lip. Marciano doubles over, spitting out blood from the busted lip. "Come on." He says, taking Julies hand as Marciano reaches out to stop her. "I advise you not to." Jacob says, as Marciano stands up.
"She's…."
"She's made it clear that she doesn't want to go with you and I suggest you obey her wishes, otherwise you will be arrested for kidnapping." Jacob says, taking Julie's arms and walking away. He leads her back to her car.
When they reach her car, she sees his lunch lying upside down beside her car. "Your lunch." She says, reaching down and picking up the box."
"Don't worry about it. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I might have a couple of bruises on my arm." She says, rubbing her arm where Marciano was pulling to his car.
"Let me see." Jacob says, reaching for her arm. Lifting her sleeve, he looks at it. "I think you're right but it shouldn't be too bad." He says, pulling her sleeve down.
"Thank you." Julie says, adjusting her purse strap nervously.
"You're welcome, are you sure you're going to be okay?"
"Yes." Julie says, looking up.
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a business card and hand it to her. "If you need anything, call me." Jacob says.
"Thank you." Julie says, taking the card and then opening her car door. She gets in and Jacob closes the door as he leans down.
"If he continues to harass you, you need file a report with Oakdale PD."
"I'm sure he'll leave me alone now."
"Okay." Jacob says.
"Thank you again."
"You're welcome." Jacob says, standing up.
Julie starts her car and pulls out while Jacob watches her leave and then he looks across the parking lot. Marciano is standing by his car, watching them. Jacob stands there until he gets into his car and leaves.
The next morning, Cassie takes the boys to school but instead of going to the Beacon she goes to Reva's. Reva is just coming downstairs as she knocks on the door. Walking over to it, Reva opens it and says. "Hi."
"Hi, are you busy?"
"No, I just got up. Come on in and I'll fix us some coffee." Reva says, stepping back to let her in.
"Thanks." Cassie says, as she walks in. She closes the door behind her as Reva walks into the kitchen and Cassie sits down on the bar. "I haven't talked to you since the other day. How are things with Josh?" Cassie asks.
"They are a bit strained." Reva says, turning to her after she turns the coffee pot on.
"What happened? I thought you decided to let him come to you."
"I did and I came home and I fixed him dinner and I called him to ask him to come home that night so we could talk but I got his voicemail so I left a message."
"And what happened?"
"By midnight and after it was obvious that he wasn't coming home. I left a note and I went to bed."
"What did the note say?"
"Not to come to bed, that the door was locked."
"You locked him out!"
"Yes."
"Reva!"
"What! I was going to apologize and tell him that I would wait until he was ready to tell me what was going on, but he didn't even have the decency to come home so we could talk."
"And do you blame him?"
"I know I've been hard on him lately, but it's still common courtesy to listen to someone's apology, at least allow them to give it."
"And did you?"
"No, we didn't talk about it until this morning when Billy and I confronted him at Lewis."
"You and Billy confronted him. Why would you confront him?"
"We learned some interesting information yesterday about HB and Jeffrey."
"H.B and Jeffrey, I don't understand."
"You remember me telling you about overhearing Josh order Lewis attorney's to destroy a file." Reva says as Cassie nods. "And you remember how Billy was looking into it."
"Yes."
"Well, we found something through HB's personal attorney." Reva says, reaching for the folder.
"What's that?"
"This is a copy of HB's will only there are some changes to it. It states the HB had a third son. A son that a private detective traced to Chicago and it gives his name." Reva says, opening the file to the last page, showing it to Cassie.
"…No one has a forwarding address for him but they were able to give me his name 'Jeffrey O'Neill'" Cassie looks at Reva. "This says that Jeffrey O'Neill is HB's son."
"Yes."
"And you think this is what Josh had destroyed?"
"I know it was. He all but admitted it."
"And did he tell you why he had the information destroyed?"
"Nothing serious enough to warrant not telling Jeffrey who he is."
"But he doesn't want to?"
"No, he doesn't." Reva says, getting up and pouring them each a cup of coffee. She sits Cassie's in front of her before she sits down beside her.
"That's not like Josh."
"I know, but something has him scared, I guess. That's the only reason I can think of that he wouldn't want to tell Jeffrey who he is."
"Oh my god, Marah." Cassie says, looking at her.
"I know. We thought of that."
"Are you sure he doesn't want to tell Jeffrey to protect Marah?"
"I'm sure a small part of it is that. But Jeffrey and Marah have been over for years now. Jeffrey's moved on and Marah is busy in Paris. She doesn't even ask about him anymore. She hasn't in a while, in fact. And I know it's going to be a shock to both of them, but they have nothing to be ashamed of."
"Still I can see how it's going to be a bit upsetting for her. She slept with her uncle."
"She didn't know, none of us did, anyway, I don't believe that's the only reason Josh is demanding that we not tell Jeffrey."
"So do you have any idea why he would demand that we keep this from Jeffrey?"
"No, I don't. We haven't been exactly on speaking terms since all of this came out."
"Reva."
"It will work itself out Cassie. It just might take some time and persuasion."
"Alright." Cassie says, taking a sip of her coffee.
Reva watches her put her cup down and she asks. "So, what's the reason you came over here today?"
"I wanted to check up on you. We haven't talked…."
"Come on, little sister. I know you and you have something on your mind and it's pretty big from the look of preoccupation in your eyes."
"Alright, do you remember the guy at Towers when we were looking for dresses for Sam's wedding?"
"The one that sent us the wine. The one you said you didn't trust. He asked about the Beacon."
"That's right. Richard suggested that I give the matter to Olivia to handle and I did."
"Is she trying to sell…?"
"No, no, but she did met with him and later, she told me about the meeting and suggested that we consider his proposal. After the wedding he contacted me for a meeting and I met with him yesterday." Cassie says, getting up and walking into the living room.
Reva follows her sittings down close to the fireplace as Cassie begins to pace. "So, you met with him yesterday. Does he want to buy the Beacon?"
"No, no, the business part of his proposal is on the up and up. He's not after the Beacon. He's after something else." Cassie says, turning to Reva.
"What?"
"Me." Cassie says, looking at her.
"You, you, like to take you away from Richard. He can't possibly…."
"No, no, it's something else." Cassie says, pacing again.
"Okay, you're not making sense."
"During our meeting yesterday, I explained my reservations to his proposal. Well I point blank asked him what his ulterior motive was. I wasn't quite that blunt, but he…."
"Cassie, what did he say?"
Cassie stops and looks at her and then starts to pace again. "Okay, I'm not completely sure I believe him. We're going to have a DNA test done, but…."
"DNA test, why would you need a DNA test done? If he's only interested in using the Beacon as a business model."
"He claims to be my father." Cassie blurts out quickly.
"He what!"
"He claims to be my father." Cassie repeats, stopping her pacing and looking at Reva.
"How, what proof? He can't possibly be."
"He's old enough to be. He claims to have meet Sarah when he was a salesmen visiting Tulsa. He was given the Lewis name as a possible contact. He and Sarah started talking and he persuaded her to buy his products. After that he would stop at the Lewis house every time he was in Tulsa. They started to talk and he would bring her home sometimes and he would eat supper with you. He said they didn't become intimate until some months after they met. This went on for a long time and then he decided that he was going to go to Europe and the last time he was in Tulsa he saw Sarah, and he asked her to go with him, she refused of course. He claims that my birthday is exactly nine months from the last time he saw Sarah and they were together. He also gave me this." Cassie says, going over to her purse and getting the picture that he had given her. She hands it to Reva. Reva takes the picture and looks at the man and woman in it. She immediately recognizes Sarah. "Do you recognize him?" Cassie asks.
"Cassie, that was a long time ago and I was kid. He might have been to the house, but if he was I didn't pick up that there was anything special between him and Momma. But you believe him?"
"I don't know." Cassie says, finally sitting down. "A part of me tells me that he's telling me the truth, that he's my father. And then another part of me doesn't want to believe because I've wanted to know for so long. And if he is, what do I do? I've got Richard back. We've got Will again and we're building our lives here. Richard and I are getting married. If he's my father, can or should I ask him to give me away, considering everything that's happened? I've got so many questions running through my head and I have no idea what to ask or where to even start. When I asked him yesterday what he really wanted with the Beacon, I never thought in a million years that this would be his answer."
"I think first you need to take a breath." Reva says, laying the picture down and walking over and sitting down on the couch beside her. "And then you need to make sure he really is what he's claiming to be, before you do anything else? Did he agree to a DNA test?"
"Yes, he brought it up first. The only proof he offered was that picture."
"Okay, so contact Rick and setup to have the test done."
"And from there?"
"You take it one day at a time." Reva says, taking her hand.
"What's this going to do to you?"
"Me."
"Yes, if he is my father. He's the man that Sarah slept with behind Hawk's back."
"I'm not really sure." Reva says, being honest.
"I don't want to hurt you, Hawk or Rusty. I've come to think of Hawk…."
"I know, and we'll deal with that after we find out for sure if he's your father." Reva says, reaching for her. "Wow, it's seems we've both had a lot going on in our lives."
"Yes, we have and I'm glad I can come to you and talk to you about everything again."
"Me too, now you need to contact Rick and see if he can do a DNA test for you."
"I will." Cassie says, standing up to leave, with Reva following her.
