Chapter 38
Rosalie POV
I frantically lowered Emmett onto his stomach, avoiding the knife that stuck out of his back that slanted more on the right of his back.
Blood slipped past the the small pocket knife, making the shirt on Emmetts back wet with it, and a dark pool began to spread slowly.
I was in utter shock, but I didn't miss the click of a safety on a gun...
I looked up and saw Alice holding a gun straight at the woman who stabbed Emmett deep enough to make him bleed profusely.
"Rose, remove the knife quickly, then apply pressure to the wound to help stop the bleeding." Alice said as she threw me the towel off the countee.
I started to shake as I grabbed the handle of the knufe and pulled it quickly out of Emmett. He stiffened as he groaned in pain. I pressed the towel hard to the knife wound as his hands held onto me like he was trying to keep centered and not pass out.
"I love you." I whispered with tears in my eyes. I kissed his head and felt a sob answer me as he pushed himself a little closer to me for silent comfort.
"I love you, too...I'm going to be okay, don't worry honey." He ground out.
"Okay." I whimpered helplessly as he brushed his hands against my face. Alice bore down the gun at the strange woman who had hurt Emmett, and all I could see was red.
Alice flicked something that set an alarm off, but she kept the gun focused on her.
"You've fucked up for the last time, bitch." Alice snarled.
"Alice, how nice to see you again." She sneered in a disgusted voice, then she looked at me, her eyes growing angry as she looked at me. "You're next, skank."
With that, Alice pulled the trigger, the bullet flew into the left thigh of the woman, making her fall over in instant pain. She screamed in pain, her ugly face warped with quick tears and snot from the pain. I looked at Alice in shock...but sickeningly, I enjoyed the pain she was now enduring for what she had done to Emmett.
Alice looked like a woman out for blood; her eyes were dark and emotionless, and her hand didn't even quiver as she held the gun out at the woman. Alice's lips were pressed down in a hard line as she watched her victim squirm.
"The alarm is bringing the police and a bus, Rose. Keep pressure on the wound and he'll be fine." She said in a dead tone.
Emmett brought his hand out, "Honey, give me the gun."
"Not until she's behind bars, and you're safely away from her, Emmett."
I began to feel a little light headed all the sudden, just as the police sirens began to sound off in the distance. I saw my sight blacken as I fell into the darkness.
