A Fresh Start

Chapter Two Hundred Four

The next morning, William slips quietly from the bed. Going into the closet, he gets a suit and tie before he goes into the bathroom. Taking a quick shower, he dresses before quietly opening the door. He peeks out and finds the Ava's still sleeping. He leaves the suite a few moments later after closing their bedroom door behind him. About an hour after William left, Ava's alarm goes off. Waking up, she reaches for him. Finding his side of the bed empty, she sits up and calls "William." When there's no answer, she gets up and checks the bathroom before she leaves their bedroom to check the balcony. When she doesn't find him outside, she goes into Emma's room and gently wakes her up. "It's time to get up." She says, pulling the cover back.

Rolling over, Emma stretches and yawns. "Where's William?" She mumbles.

"I don't know. Let's get up and I'll take you to school." Emma gets up and goes to her bathroom while Ava's in her closet getting her clothes together. She lays them on the bed before she leaves to get dressed she calls to Emma. "Don't got back to sleep."

"Yes ma'am." Emma calls back, stretching again.

Gathering her clothes from the closet, Ava goes into their bathroom to get ready for work. Emma is waiting in the living room with her book bag when she comes out. "Are you ready?" Ava asks, gathering her stuff.

"Yes ma'am." Emma replies, while Ava looks around the room.

"Then let's go." She says, when she doesn't spot a note from William. They leave the Beacon after Emma has breakfast. Ava drops her off at school, hugging her good-bye. As she pulls away from the school, she pulls out her cell phone. Dialing William's number, she wait for him to pick up. She's disappointed when it goes to voice mail. "Hi, I only wanted to make sure you were alright. I was surprised that you were gone when I got up this morning. Can you call me when you get this so that I know you're okay. I love you." She hangs up as she pulls into the parking lot at Lewis.

She's walking into the building when Jeffrey walks up beside her. "Hi, darlin." He says, as she turns to him.

"Hi, what happened?" She asks when she sees his face.

"It's nothing." He says, pushing the button for the elevator.

"Does Sam know about this?"

"Yes, she saw it last night."

"Did you tell her what happened?"

"Yes, how's William?"

"He's settling in. Why are you at Lewis?"

"I came over to talk to Billy about the garage."

"Oh." She replies, walking onto the elevator with him.

"Would you tell me if there was a problem with William?"

"There's no problem." Ava says, looking at him.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." She says, as the doors open and they walk out.

"You know you can tell me if there was a problem."

"We're fine. I promise."

"Alright, then I'll see you later." He says, reaching for her. They hug and then he steps back, releasing her. She turns for her office as he turns for Billy's. Opening the door to the outer office, he walks in as Billy comes out of his office. "Good morning Billy." Jeffrey says, as he looks up.

"Good... what happened to you?"

"It's nothing."

"That doesn't tell me what happened."

"In a name, Josh."

"He did that, why?"

"We got into at Jon's bar last night. He was drunk. It really doesn't matter. I came over here to talk to you about the garage."

"Okay, come on in. Wanda hold my calls."

"Of course."

They walk into Billy's office. Billy closes the door as Jeffrey walks over to his desk. So, the garage." Billy says, walking over to his desk.

"Yes, I think we'll need to tear it down and start over." Jeffrey says, sitting down.

"Did you go inside?"

"Yes, for a few minutes. The foundation looks good, from what I could see."

"That's good. Do you have any idea on what you want?"

"I was thinking a two car garage, plenty of storage with a room upstairs. There will need to be plenty of storage on both floors and the walls will have to be sound proof to keep noise down."

"Alright, I can draw up some plans."

"That would be great." Jeffrey says, standing up.

"Now, what else happened last night."

Jeffrey looks at him. "He jumped me outside Jon's bar after accusing me of cheating on Sam with Lizzie Spaulding."

"You realize this isn't working."

"Well, I don't know what else to do. I can't change the fact that your father is my father and he's not listening to anyone about the subject."

"He did the same thing when I came to Tulsa."

"What got him to accept you?"

"A personal crisis."

"Well, I have no way of making one of those happen, so I guess I will have to do what Gus suggested last night."

"What's that?"

"Avoid him."

"I'm not sure how you're going to accomplish that. You're apart of this family."

"I have too much going on in my life to worry about Josh and his issues."

"Alright, I don't think you have to fix Josh's issues. So, how's Sam?"
"She's wonderful. She's insisting on fixing me breakfast now even though it makes her sick."

"It makes her sick."

"Morning sickness, the smell of bacon makes her sick, but she insists on making it for me every morning."

"Has she sent you out for a craving at two in the morning yet?"

"It was three in the morning and she was asleep when I got back.'

"I remember when Vanessa was pregnant with Bill. One night she insisted that she had to have Mexican food at two am. We were here in Springfield but back then everything closed down at about nine. I had to drive halfway to Chicago to get the food and by the time I got back she had changed her mind."

"This is very touching." Josh says, from Billy's door.

"The door was closed. That's usually and indication that I'm in a meeting." Billy says.

"Billy, you'll draw up those plans and bring them by or call me."

"Yes."

"I see I got a few blows in."

"I see that I got a few more. I'll talk with you soon Billy."

"Thanks for coming by."

"You're welcome."

"You take care of yourself and Sam.

"Yes, take good care of Sam." Josh says, under his breath. "And I'm sure Lizzie too."

Jeffrey stops and turns around. "What did you say? I'm sick of this. You want to do this again, then come on." Jeffrey says, walking over to Josh and stopping in front of Josh.

"Last night wasn't enough."

"I went easy on you last night because you were drunk. I won't this time."

"Don't do this." Billy says, getting between them.

"I'll bring those plans over, Jeffrey." He looks at him.

"Thanks." Glancing at Josh, he leaves.

Ava spends the morning going over plans for other jobs Billy has her working on. At noon, she stops for lunch. When she walks into Company, Buzz is at the counter. "Hi, Buzz." She says, as William walks out of the bathroom.

"Hi, do you want your usual?"

"Yes." She replies, turning around as William looks up.

"I'll bring it over to the table." Buzz says.

"Thanks." She says, turning for William's table. He stands up when she reaches the table. "Are you okay?" She asks, as she leans over to kiss him.

"I'm fine." he says, sitting back.

"I called you a couple times." She says, sitting down across from him.

"I was busy."

"I was surprised to find you had gone this morning."

"I wanted to get an early start." He replies, as Buzz walks up with her food.

He puts it down and she looks up. "Thanks, Buzz."

"You're welcome, do you need anything else?" He asks, looking at William.

"Just the check, thank you." William says, as Buzz hands him the check.

"You're leaving. I thought we could have lunch together, since we're both here." Ava says, as he reaches for his wallet.

"I've got stuff I need to do." He says, standing up.

She looks up. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I'll see you at home." She replies, as he nods. After he left, Ava picks at her food for a few minutes before she gets Buzz's attention. "Can I get this to go?"

"Sure, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I've got to get back to work."

"Is William...?"

"It's fine Buzz. He's busy and I have to go back to work."

"Okay." Buzz says, taking her plate away. He returns a few moments later with her food and the check. She takes the food and pays the check and then leaves.

A couple hours later, she's at a job site when she feels very dizzy. "Ms. Peralta, are you okay?" One of the crewmen asks.

"I'm fine. I just need to..." She doesn't finish as she sinks towards the floor and one of the other crewmen catches her.

"Ma'am, boss." The crewmen calls, looking around.

"What happened, Marks." The foreman asks, walking up.

"I don't know Sir. I asked her if she was okay and she just collapsed."

"Call, 911. Ms. Peralta, can you hear me?" The foreman asks, bending over her as he gently shakes her. She doesn't respond.

"The ambulance is on its way." Marks says.

"She didn't say anything?" The foreman asks, still trying to wake her.

"She started to say something but she collapsed before she could finish."

"Has she been around anything today?"

"No sir, not that I saw." Marks replies, as Ava moans softly.

"She's coming around. Ms. Peralta, can you hear me?"

"What happened? I need some water." Ava mumbles, trying to sit up.

"Stay where you are ma'am. You passed out but the ambulance is on their way. Someone get me some water." The foreman says, looking around. The crew scramble to get some water. One of then hands some to the foreman and he gives it to Ava and she takes a drink.

"You called the ambulance, why?"

"We're here, what happened?" The first EMT asks, walking up.

"It's nothing. I felt a little faint."

"She passed out."

"Did she hit her head and how long was she unconscious." The EMT asks, as he listens to Ava's heart. Her heart rate is very high. Ava tries to get up, but the EMT restrains her. "Ma'am, you need to stay where you are."

"I'm fine. I'm pregnant and I haven't eaten today. It's nothing more than low blood sugar."

"You're pregnant, ma'am."

"It's Ava, and yes, I'm pregnant."

"Then we need to take you to Cedars."

"I'm not going to Cedars."

"Ms. Peralta, you have to go. It's Lewis policy."

"Go get the gurney." The first EMT says, turning to his partner.

"You don't need the gurney. I will be fine once I eat something."

"Ma'am, we have to take you to Cedars to make sure you and the baby are okay. Did you go around anything here at the job site that would be harmful to you and the baby?" The EMT asks, restraining her from getting up.

"Of course not, I never left this area of the site. Really, I don't need to go to Cedars." Ava says, when the second EMT returns with the gurney.

"We're just taking you in to let Dr...?"

"It's Dr. Sedgwick."

"We're going to let her check you out. Is there anyone you can call?" The EMT asks, as he helps Ava onto the gurney.

"This is silly. I don't need to go to Cedars." Ava says, as the EMT's gather everything up.

"Just lie back, everything will be okay." The first EMT says.

"Mr. Oswald, call Billy and ask him to bring my car to Cedars." Ava says, laying back.

"It's taken care of ma'am." He says.

"Thank you." Ava says, closing her eyes.

William is walking to his car when his cell phone rings. "Hello." He says, answering on the third ring.

"William, it's Richard. Where are you?"

"I'm just outside of town, why?"

"I'm with Billy and he just got a call from one of his foremen. They called the paramedics because Ava..."

"Ava, what happened? Is she okay, the baby?"

"I think she's okay. They're taking her to Cedars as a precaution."

"A precaution, what happened?"

"I'm not sure about what happened." Richard says, looking at Billy. "Billy says that she passed out."

"Did she fall, hit her head?"

"No, Billy says she was conscious when they left in the ambulance."

"I'm in my car. I'll be there in less than ten... make that five minutes."

"You need to be careful. Should I call anyone else?"

"No, I'll call Jeffrey after I see her. Thank you for calling me."

"Of course, I would call you."

"Thank you again." William says, before hanging up as he pulls out onto the street.

Ava is in one of the exam rooms when he walks in. "Ava." He says, rushing to her.

"I'm fine. They are being stupid."

"You passed out."

" My blood sugar was probably low."

"Didn't you eat when you were at Company?"

"I got busy. And I'll be fine." She says, as Dr. Sedgwick walks in.

"You can't get busy and not eat. Hello, Prince William." She says, turning to him.

"It's just William now." He says, holding out his hand. They shake hands before Dr. Sedgwick turns to Ava.

"You were right, your blood sugar was low and you're slightly dehydrated. From now on you can't skip meals."

"I didn't mean to. I simply got busy."

"Busy or not, you have to eat now, set a reminder on your phone or computer, but you have to eat."

"Yes ma'am."

"I'm going to release you as soon as that IV is finished. I want you to rest tonight and get something to eat as soon as you leave here, do not wait."

"I will definitely make sure she eats." William says.

"Good, I'll go draw up the release papers."

"Thank you again, Dr. Sedgwick." William says.

"You're welcome." She says, before she turns to leave.

After she's gone, Ava says. "Someone will have to pick up Emma."

"We still have an hour before school is out. You're almost finished with the IV. Do you want to tell me why you didn't eat when you were at Company?" She looks away. "Ava."

"After you left, I wasn't hungry."

"What does me leaving have to do with you not eating lunch?"

"I wasn't hungry."

"Ava, there's more to this."

"Do you realize you haven't even touched me since you got here. You left this morning without saying good-bye or leaving a note. You never returned my phone calls and then you left me at Company. If you don't want to be here then you can leave." She says, looking at him.

"Of course, I want to be here. I was tired when I got here and I've been focused on finding a job."

"I told you not to worry about that. We have time, you have time." Ava says, looking at him.

"We'll discuss this later. Don't ever think that I don't want to be here with you." He says, reaching for her free hand.

"Okay." Ava says, as the nurse walks in.

"I'm here to check on your IV." She says, walking over to Ava's bed. After a couple moments, she says. "You're almost finished. I'll tell Dr. Sedgwick so she can get the release paper ready."

"Thank you." William says.

The nurse leaves and about ten minutes later, she and Dr. Sedgwick comes back into the room. The nurse removes the IV. "You'll need to sign these papers." Dr. Sedgwick says, giving Ava a clipboard. "As I said before, I want you to take it easy tonight and remember, you must eat."

"We will." William says, as the orderly comes in with a wheelchair. He an William helps her into the chair and they leave.

Josh picks up the phone and dials Harley's number, after a couple rings, she picks up. "Harley Cooper."

"Harley, it's Josh. Have you found anything out about the woman I asked you to look into."

"I haven't had time to start Josh."

"I really need this information. Something is telling me that its important that I find out what's she's hiding."

" I start looking today after I finish my shift. Have you spoken with Reva?"

" Don't worry about me and Reva. I'll deal with her. I want you to find out what this woman is hiding."

"I'll get on as soon as possible."
"Thank you." He says, hanging up without saying good-bye.

Reva leaves Sam's office and goes directly to the Beacon. When she arrives she stops at the front desk. "Hi, Mrs. Lewis." The desk clerk says.

"Hello, Janie. I need you to do something for me." Reva says, putting her purse on the counter.

"Yes ma'am."

"I need you to total out my bill and charge it to the credit card on file. And then in about an hour I want a bellmen sent to my room to get my things."

"Why are you leaving? I thought you liked being here at the Beacon."

"I do like the Beacon but it's time I went home. Can you do that for me?"

"Of course, Mrs. Lewis. I'll start it right now and I'll have Jeremy come up after he gets back from his lunch."

"Thank you." Reva says, grabbing her purse and turning for the stairs.

An hour later, there's a knock on her door. She walks over to the door, opening it as Jeremy raises his hand to knock again. "Mrs. Lewis, Janie sent me up for your luggage." He says.

"Thanks, it's all in the front room. I'm going to walk through and make sure I've gotten all of my things and then we can go. If you'll start loading the luggage."

"Yes ma'am." Jeremy replies, picking up one of her suitcases.

Reva walks through the room while he's loading the luggage and as he gets the last bag she comes back into the main room. "Is everything loaded?" She asks.

"Yes ma'am, this is the last bag." He says, as Reva nods, walking over to the door.

She opens it and he follows her out with the cart full of her luggage. They walk down the hall to the elevator and wait for it to come after Reva pushes the button. Once they reach the lobby, Reva goes over to the front desk, signs some paperwork and then returns to Jeremy who follows her to her car. He loads her luggage into the car and she hands him a tip before she gets in and leaves.

When they leave the hospital, Ava asks. "Where's my car?"

"Billy dropped it off."

"Then I need to take it home."

"No, you're not driving yourself home. I'll come back an get the car or have someone from the Beacon pick it up."

"I'm able to drive, I don't need someone to pick..."

"You're not driving home." William says, rolling her over to his car."

He helps her into the car and then returns the wheelchair before they leave. He stops at Company to get them something to eat. They pull up to the school as Emma is coming out. "Hi." She says, getting into William's car. "Ava where's you're car?" She asks, putting her seat belt on.

"It's at Cedars. William came to get me and I rode with him." Ava says.

"Why is your car at Cedars?"

"I had to go see my doctor." Ava says, looking at William.

"Is everything okay with the baby?" She asks, as William pulls away from the school.

"The baby's fine. How was your day?"

"Alright, I guess. I've got to write a story by Friday about something I've never done. And Will is ignoring me now that he has his new friend."

"He has a new friend."

"Yes, a new boy moved in while I was in San Cristobel and he's friends with Will and he don't like girls hanging around."

"Well, I'm sure that Will still wants to be your friend."

"Maybe, but I'm going to play with his new friends sister and pretend that I don't want to be around him tomorrow."

"Sweetie, you can't try to hurt him by doing the same thing he's doing. Will is still your friend." Ava says, looking at William.

"So, what are you going to write your story about." William asks.

"I don't know."

"There are a lot of things to write about."

"I know but I don't like to write."

"Why not, a story can be anything you want it to be. You control everything that happens and who the characters are."

"But my stories are always boring." Emma says, as William glances into the mirror.

"Why don't we do this. You write something and then I'll read and I'll tell you if I think it's boring. How does that sound?"

"Okay."

They turn into the Beacon parking lot and park. Emma gets out, grabbing her book bag while William walks around to Ava's side of the car. He opens the door and then helps her out. Once everyone's out, they walk inside.

When Reva reaches Cross Creek, no one is there. She parks close to the house so that she can unload before Josh gets home. Once she has everything inside, she takes the luggage upstairs to their room. Sam had suggested that she sleep in the guest room, but this situation wasn't caused by anything she had done, why should she be in the "dog house"? She begins to unpack and is about finished when Josh walks in. "Reva." He says, stopping as she looks up.

"Hello." She says, going back to what she had been doing.

"What are you doing here?"

"I live here, where else would I be?"
"The Beacon, when you left you didn't act like you were going to come back until the situation changed concerning Jeffrey."

"Well, things change. And we both know that the situation with Jeffrey isn't going to change. He's your brother. You may not want to admit that, but he is. And I'm not going to play your game anymore. We're married, I'm not cheating on you. I have never cheated on you with Jeffrey or any other man in your family for that matter. So, do you want the guest room or do you want to stay in here?"

"I'm... I don't..." He just stands there and stares at her.

"I guess you're going to stay here. But understand this, until your attitude changes, you and I will not be "together"." She says, going into the closet. He's still standing there when she comes out. "Have you eaten?"

"Umm, I was going to go out. I haven't cooked much since you left."

"Going out will be fine. I'll change and meet you downstairs." She says, turning back to the closet. When she's gone, he takes a deep breath and then gathers his thought and goes to the bathroom. She's in the closet when she hears the water start to run. Smiling at herself in the mirror, she continues to get dressed.

After they eat, Emma does her homework while Ava helps her. When she's finished, she takes a bath and then spends an hour before bedtime watching cartoons. "Emma, it's time for bed." William says, walking into the living room.

"Can't I watch one more."

"No, it's bedtime." He says, as she gets up slowly. "Tell your sister good night and I'll be in to tuck you in."

"Will you tell me a story?"

"Yes." He says, ruffling her hair as she walks by him. When she's out of the room, he turns to Ava. "You need to rest."

"I've been resting all night. Did the driver bring..."

"You're keys are in your purse. He brought them while you were in the bath."

"Okay."

"I'll be back in a minute." He says, turning for Emma's room.

Ten minutes later, he come back into the living room. Ava is flipping the channels on the TV when he walks in. "That was quick." She says, looking up.

"She fell asleep almost immediately." He says, sitting down beside her. "Now are you ready for bed?"

"It's barely eight o'clock."

"Dr. Sedgwick wanted you to rest."

"And I have been resting. You've done everything tonight."

"It's my job to take care of you. Your father would have my head if something happened to you or the baby on my watch."

"You do not have to be so paranoid about Jeffrey. He's not out to get you."

"He knows things Ava, about me. He knows how I was when I first came back from the Merchant Marines. And I know he said that he's not going to interfere with our relationship, but I know he's watching to see what I'll do this time."

"I wish you would relax. You've only been in town a matter of days. He doesn't expect you to have everything in order and ready in a matter of days."

"Maybe not, but the longer it takes me the more he's going to wonder if I can take care of you."

"You take care of me just fine. But I don't need..."

"You may not need me too, but I'm going to. So are you ready for bed?"

"If you insist, even though it's still the middle of the evening." She says, moving to get up. He follows her and when she turns for their bedroom, he stops her. Bending down, he sweeps her up into his arms. "William, I can..."

He lays a finger across her lips. "Shh, I'm taking care of you tonight." Leaning in to kiss her, as he carries her into their bedroom. He stops by the bed, still holding her while they kiss. Finally he pulls back and smiles softly. She reaches up and light caresses his lips and he kiss her finger. "You know that I love you very much and that I didn't mean to make you feel like I didn't want to be here, because I do."

"I know you do."

"I was..."

"I know what you were doing. You're focused on proving to my father that you're able to take care of me and this baby. You already do that, in my book, but you want to prove it to him."

Slowly he puts her down, still holding her close to him with his arms loosely wrapped around her.

Leaning in, he kisses her, nibbling softly on her lower lip while she lightly caresses his back. She smiles when she feels a small shiver roll down his spine while he pulls her closer to him, deepening the kiss. Reaching for the waistband of his pants.

She tugs on his shirt, pulling it free before she tucks her hands underneath. Reaching to help her they pull and unbutton until their clothes are on the floor. He takes a step back his eyes roaming up and down her body, caressing her without actually touching her. When their eyes meet again, he takes her hand and leads her over to the bed. He helps her to lie down before he lays down beside her. Leaning up and bracing his head with his hand he reaches over and turns her face towards him. "I love you so much."

"I love you too."

"I can't wait for our baby to come and to spend the next fifty years with you, raising Emma and however many more we have." He says, leaning over to kiss her as she reaches for him.

"How many do you want to have?" Ava asks, reaching up to run her fingers along his jaw. Stopping when he lightly kisses the tips of her fingers when her hand brushes across his lips

"I want to have as many as you want to have. How many do you want?"

"I think four would be a nice round number." Ava replies, leaning in to kiss him.

When they part, William asks "Four, why four"

"Two boys and two girls, I always missed that I didn't have brothers and sisters to share things with when I was growing up. I always wanted someone that I could talk to about things, or maybe I could help out along the way. "

"What would you have talked to them about?"

"Like my first crush or first kiss. Or some hair brain bit of information you got from your friends at school."

William reaches over and brushes a few strands of hairs from her left cheek. "Are you trying to distract me?"

"No, why?"

"Because we went from having some very adult fun to talking about growing up and relating to siblings that neither one of us had." William says, looking at her. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulls her closer. They stay that way for several seconds. Finally breaking the kiss, he moves over to her neck gently kissing her, nibbling along her jaw to her ear. He smiles when he hears her sigh and he feels her shiver. Leaning back he looks at her. "You like that don't you."

"If you know that, why did you stop?"

"Umm" He replies, leaning over he moves to the other side, nibbling on her other ear, slowly running his tongue around the outer shell.

"William." She says, moving her head to the side to give him more room. Slowly he moves down her body, lightly kissing her. When he reaches her breasts, he stops for a couple seconds. His breathe feels warm against her body. Purposely licking her nipple as she reaches up and buries her fingers in his hair pulling him to her, he feels her shiver as her breathing deepens. She is so focused on him and what he is doing to her that she doesn't realize he's moved his hand until he closes it around her other breast, caressing it, playing with her nipple, staying in rhythm with his mouth. Sparks of desire sear through her body, arching her back she press her breast deeper into his mouth. "William." She sighs, slowly running her hands through his hair.

Sitting up, he looks down watching her. Reaching up, she slowly runs her hands down his chest, lightly scratching him.

"Ava." He whispers, feeling surges of desire wash over him.

Sitting up, she leans over catching his mouth. Kissing him, she tries desperately to show him how much passion is burning inside her. Wrapping an arm around her, one hand is buried deep inside her hair. Leaning back, she swallows hard, taking a deep breathe before she sits back, staring at him. "Lay down." She says softly.

"Ava." He whispers. The tone of her voice he can't resist, knowing that tone and knowing that whatever she has planned he is going to enjoy. He lays back as she moves to straddle him. Leaning over him for several seconds she never touches him, only allowing the warmth of her breath to heat his body. He isn't prepared when she lightly kisses the side of his neck. Reaching up, he buries his fingers in her hair, holding her in place for a few seconds. Slowly she moves down his body, kissing him lightly, the ends of her hair softly caressing him, almost tickling him. She feels his breathing deepen, the sound of it heating the blood rushing through her. She moves down to his navel and he feels the warmth of her breath against his stomach, her tongue lightly caressing him. "Ava." He groans, while sparks of desire burn through his body, settling in his stomach, heating his blood, driving his passion higher. She moves over him letting the strands of her hair softly tickle him. Her hair feels cool against the heat burning inside him. "Please, Ava!" William groans, arching his hips reaching for her. Smiling, she leans over him, the tip of her tongue lightly caressing him, running around him, drinking from him. "Ava, please!"

He doesn't finish. Her mouth closes around him, taking him deeper. For several seconds, he lays back enjoying the desire burning inside him, until another need overcomes him and he reaches for her, trying to get her to move. It takes her a couple minutes to realize he wants something and sitting back she looks down at him. She quickly realizes what he wants. Turning until she is kneeling over him, she returns to him. Reaching up, he opens her. The first caress of his mouth is nearly all she can take, moaning softly.

The vibration of her moan feels like nothing he has felt before. He deepens his caress, until she can't concentrate on him and what she was doing. It isn't long before she moves away. He looks at her, surprised until he realizes what she wants. Straddling him, she guides him inside her. The moment she feels him touch her she arches her back moaning softly. "Ava." He begs, his hand settling on her hips

Those simple words break her control. Taking him until he is completely inside her, lying down, she kisses the side of his neck as he wraps his arms around her, holding her close to him as she moves her legs back and begins to move against him, slowly at first and then faster. He turns his head, kissing her as he reaches for her hips, helping her as he arches his back, pushing against her retreating body. "Ava." He groans, as he tries to bring her closer to him.

Sitting up, she braces herself against his chest, rocking her hips, back and forth, faster with every second, until she feels her body tightening around him, pulling him deep inside her as waves of desire wash over her. "William." She moans.

He wraps his arms around her and rolls to his side, lifting her leg and laying it across his hips he thrusts slowly back and forth a half of dozen times until he feels himself loose control deep inside her "Ava." He groans, holding her still as he pours all the passion he feels inside her

Its a few minutes before he can let her go. Laying down beside him, she takes a deep breath before she rolls to her other side with him following her, laying his arms across her waist, his hand resting flat against her stomach, he kisses her shoulder before she reaches for his hand, and pulling it up till it rests in hers between her breasts. She closes her eyes and quickly falls asleep. Smiling he lays there, listening to her breath. Maybe he didn't have everything figured out, but one thing he knew she would always be a part of his world. He lightly kisses her shoulder before he pulls his hand free and pulls the covers over them. Settling behind her, he's asleep almost as quickly as she was.

"Sam, are you here?" Jeffrey calls, walking into the loft. She doesn't reply and he stops for a moment and then he hears the water running in the bathroom. Laying his stuff on the table beside the door, he pulls his tie free as he walks towards the bathroom. He opens the door and for a moment stands in the doorway before he quietly closes the door. Getting undressed, he walks over to the shower and pulls the curtain back. Jumping, Sam screams before he realizes it's him. "I'm sorry." He says, trying not to smile.

"It's not funny, you scared me to death."

"I really am sorry." He says, getting in and closing the curtain behind him. "How was your day?"

"Tiring, I was busy all day. Reva came by my office. I talked to Megan and I had a few patients admitted to Cedars. I came home about an hour ago. How was your day?"

"About the same. I went to City Hall. And I met with Billy about the garage."

"Did you see Josh?"

"Yes, he stopped by Billy's office while I was there. Billy's going to draw up some plans for the garage."

"What did Josh say?"

"Nothing but his usual stuff. What did Reva want?"
"Apparently she went to see Josh and she wanted to talk about that. We talked and then she wanted to know if I knew anything about the woman he's supposedly investigating."

"He's investigating a woman?"

"Apparently, he's investigating one of the women that works for me."

"Why would he be investigating one of your employees?"

"I don't know. Anyway, I introduced her to Reva and then she left." Sam says, reaching for the shampoo. He takes it from her.

"Turn around." He says, squeezing some shampoo into his hand. She turns around and he begins washing her hair. "So what did Megan want?"

"Just to talk, they've apparently had the court date and the judge ordered the divorce, giving her the house and temporary custody of the boys. I don't think she's going to keep the house though. And she said something about moving, but I had patients waiting so we couldn't really talk about it."

"What happened with your patients?"

"The Simmons son had an asthma attack at school and I admitted him for observation and Mrs. Wallace was admitted because the nursing home where she's a patient didn't control her insulin and she went into a reaction." She says, closing her eyes as he massages her head.

"Did you see Ava today?"

"No, she didn't come by the house. Did you see her?"

"For a few minutes this morning while I was walking to Billy's office." He says, stepping under the water and bringing her with him. Letting the water rinse her hair before he reaches for her conditioner and squeezing some into his hands.

"How is William?"

"She said he was alright."

"But you don't believe her."

"She seemed tense this morning." He says, as she turns in his arms.

"What did you say to her?"

"Nothing, I asked if everything was okay. She said it was fine and I told her she could tell me if something was wrong and then she went to her office and I went to Billy's. I didn't say anything about William." He says, reaching for the wash clothe and soap. Getting it soapy, he turns her around and begins washing her shoulders and back. Closing her eyes, she lets her body relax as he washes her back.

He pulls her back to him and reaches around, lightly kissing her shoulder as he washes the rest of her. When he's finished, he lays the wash clothe down and running his hands over her body, he helps the water rinse the soap from it. When it's gone, he lightly kisses her shoulder again before he says. "Why don't you go upstairs and I'll be up in a minute?"

"Okay." She says, turning to kiss him before he gets out of the shower.
