Note: I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PULL A DATE OFF. ALL I KNOW IS TUMBLR TEXTPOSTS. *sob*
Time Setting: 9:57PM.
Setting: Blaster Dark's quarters (Yes he has his own quarters in the Royal Paladin castle.. because Dads).
Blaster Dark groaned as he settled onto his king-sized double bed, staring up at the ceiling. He put his hands behind his head and went over the evening again. The night had been full of the excitement of the Pale Moon circus, and he was beat. But this was not what the knight was worried about, no. All of the training, wars and missions could not have prepared him for this. Blaster Dark knew he was going to need some help for this, even if that meant asking his moron of a brother for help.
Dark had asked Luquier on a date, set for six o'clock in the evening, the day after tomorrow. It didn't seem all that scary, until you added the fact that Dark did not know how to pull off one.
Time Setting: 6:04AM, The Next Day.
Setting: Blaster Blade's quarters.
"I can't believe I'm doing this.." Blaster Dark muttered under his breath, entering his brother's quarters. The Shadow Paladin had stayed up all night worrying, and only now did he decide to come over, thinking that if Blade asked him during the day, he'd never hear the end of it. After closing the door as quietly as he could, he slipped over to Blade's bed, where the younger prince was snoring lightly in deep sleep. Grabbing Blade by the shoulders so that Blade wouldn't instantly grab his sword, he shook him awake.
"Wha- What?!" Blade yelped quietly as Dark tightened his grip. "What's going on?"
"Blade, I need your help." Blaster Dark whispered.
"With what?" Blaster Blade responded. From the tone of Blaster Dark's voice, it seemed serious.
"I.. need your help pulling off a date."
...
"BWAHAHA- NRRK! OWWW!" Blaster Blade nursed his stomach, all the while stifling a few last laughs. Blaster Dark retracted his clenched-up fist.
"Quit your whining. It's 6 in the morning." Blaster Dark regained his composure. "I'm serious about this."
"What if I don't want to help?" Dark mentally cursed. What could he use as a threat. Almost immediately, a light bulb went off in his head.
"...If you don't help me I'll show the world the embarrassing footage that I have of you." This proved to be effective as Blade's eyes widened and his face grew fearful.
"You wouldn't." Dark smirked. He had hit the jackpot.
"I would." After a tense staring competition, the younger brother sighed.
"Fine, you win." Blade grumbled. "But one question, why are you asking me for help?" Dark cringed. "You're good with the ladies, aren't you? You're mysterious, strong, suave, dark, excuse the pun, why would you come to me? I thought you'd have already pulled several off yourself."
"..Let's go brainstorm ideas for this date." Dark began to walk off to Blade's desk.
"H-hey! You never answered my question!" Blade followed.
"Everything unrelated to this date is irrelevant as of now."
"How was that irrelevant?!"
"Your whining is also irrelevant as well."
"Dark." Blade stopped. Said brother turned around to see a stern face. "Give me your answer or I'm not helping, even if you do upload embarrassing footage of me to the world, I'm not helping you until I am given an answer. It's 6 in the morning."
"Blade.." Dark shook his head. "Persistent as always."
"Will you tell me why?"
"After the date has finished, yes."
"You swear?" Dark deadpanned.
"Yes."
"Pinkie swear?"
"...Yes?"
"Okay! Let's get to it!" Blaster Blade resumed his normal mode and pulled Dark along to his desk, leaving the dark knight slightly confused.
Step One: Where?
Time Setting: 7:11PM.
"Do you have any idea as to where you want it?" Blade scrolled through a list of locations in the United Sanctuary kingdom. "Where you want it will affect what you wear, how you act and how it goes."
"What options are there?" Blaster Dark asked.
"I've got some general ideas. A resturant, the mall or an amusement park."
"Are there any downsides?"
"At a mall, you could go to the movies and the arcade, but as you know, women love their shops." Both men shuddered at the thought. "At an amusement park, you can wear casual clothes and be laid-back, but you better win prizes for her to impress her. And even I have trouble winning them because the big ones are rigged, so you gotta bring a whole load of money."
"Money is of no problem to me." Dark said. "And the resturant?"
"You have to act the most gentlemanly as possible, have to keep the ball rolling while you wait for your food which takes an incredibly long time, keep a lid on your temper.." Blaster Blade trailed off. "Yeah, that's not you. I''d go for the mall in your shoes."
"What do you mean by that?!" Blaster Dark retorted. "I don't want to carry loads of shopping bags! I can pull off the resturant-type date!"
"See? Temper." Blaster Blade said. "If you get angry because the food takes a long time, well, that's not my problem."
"You know you're the main cause of it, right?" Dark muttered loud enough for Blade to hear. The younger brother flashed a grin at his brother, and rubbed his nails on his skinsuit.
"I'm pretty good at it, right?" He replied, looking at his nails.
"That wasn't a compliment!"
Step 2: How to act
Setting: 7:30AM.
"This is the formal table setting." Blade presented proudly to Dark, who looked at the cutlery and plate which was laid out on the table with a clearly bothered expression.
"...I've seen this all my life, you know!"
"Just a reminder!" Blaster Blade laughed. "But now, I'm going to run you through a small test."
"What test?"
"A conversation! To see if you can talk to me for about half an hour."
"Food doesn't take that long to be prepared." Blaster Dark folded his arms. "At least, probably not at the 5 star restaurant Luquier and I will be going to."
"But there will probably be a lot of people there, who knows?" Blaster Blade took a seat at the opposite end of the table. "Okay, you can't talk about how long the food is taking, and you can't get angry, no matter what I do."
"At you?" Dark narrowed his eyes. "Dinner with you is hard enough as it is."
"That's why I'm the best candidate." Blaster Blade leaned back and put an arm behind the chair. "So, how have you been?"
-4 minutes later-
"And I said to Randolf, 'I told you so!' Haha, the look on his face when he had to hand over the bet money." Dark's right eye twitched as Blade put his feet on the table and crossed them.
"That's.. very interesting." Dark said through gritted teeth. "What are you doing?"
"Making myself comfortable. Hey, have I ever told you about the time the knights and I got Gancelot to balance a spoon on his nose?"
-6 minutes later-
"King Alfred was in on the prank and it was hilarious! You should have been there, it was pure gold."
"Yeah, great.." Dark groaned, who was resting his chin in his left hand. "Any more stories you can tell me?"
"Hmm.. I do remember reading this one story on a site full of what they call 'fanfictions', which I don't fully understand as of yet..."
-15 minutes later-
"I think it was in an alternate universe, I don't think we know anyone by the names of Katie, Nicole and Mariah. But I still found the prank war to be epic!"
"Was there any more to it?" Blaster Dark asked, a bit intrigued. A few minutes ago, he had decided to make an attempt to at least be a proper part of this conversation.
"The author made a sequel but she shut it down because she couldn't write it. Maybe she'll re-open it someday!"
"Ah.. I see. For your sake I hope she does re-open it, even if the story is a bit lame for my liking.." Blaster Dark would have to send some sort of demand to this 'AuraPen' to continue the story. He hoped that it would end with him winning fully over his idiotic brother and his band of friends.
"It is not lame!" Blaster Blade huffed. "Just because I'm pretty much the star of the show doesn't mean you can say it is. You're in it too!"
"As a side character." Blaster Dark huffed. "I could have done a better job at it than you."
"At least you become more important in the canceled sequel." Blaster Blade pouted. "You were to join King Alfred and Mariah's team. I sent a request asking her to continue it and she hasn't responded yet."
"When did you send the request?"
"..Last month."
-5 minutes later-
"Oh, you did it!" Blaster Blade clapped, after taking a glance at the clock. "Just in time!"
"For what?"
KNOCK KNOCK
"Breakfast for the princes!" A voice called.
"Come in." Blaster Blade responded. Two maids came in and served the princes, and all the while Blaster Dark shook his head while smiling. "Time to dig in!"
