A Fresh Start

Chapter Two Hundred Seventeen

For a moment, Jeffrey stands in the middle of his office. Walking over to the door he is about to close it when he decides to follow her. "I'll be right back." He says to Stace. When Sam reaches the parking lot, she walks over to her car. She doesn't realize that Jeffrey's behind her. She opens the door and gets in and for a moment she pauses. Reaching to start the car, she jumps when he taps on the passenger side window. She leans over and rolls the window down. He reaches in and unlocks the door. Opening it, he gets in. Closing the door as he rolls the window up and then he turns to her. "I'm sorry." He says, pausing for a moment. "I panicked with I couldn't reach you." When she doesn't reply he says. "Beca."

"Don't call me that." Sam says, turning to him.

"I only meant to protect you."

"So you don't trust me to keep my word."

"No, I trust you." He says, as she looks at him with a skeptical look on her face. "I do. But I know how much yesterday affected you."

"Of course it affected me. She's me. That's why I went to Laurel Falls. But after last night I realized that I can't go off half cocked. What I do affect more than me and I would never do anything to jeopardize you and I or our child."

"Does that include not contacting the social worker? Everything is going to be extremely volatile around her for quite sometime."

"That's exactly why she needs someone to talk to. Someone who knows what she's been through." He looks out the windshield. "You have to trust me."

"I do trust you. But there's something you haven't considered."

"What's that?"

"What will this Deacon do when she's not returned to him?"

"I'm not scared of him."

"That's problem. You're not scared of him and if he'll do that to a child what will he do to someone he feels is interfering in his business. What would your father have done? Look at the history of situations like this within our own government."

"I'm not going after him, as much as I want to. I'm only helping a young girl understand what is and has happened to her."

"And you don't think that will put both of you in danger? Please Beca, you're not that naïve."

She looks at him and then says. "I've got to get back."

"Beca."

"I've got patients coming in." She says, looking at him.

"Alright, but we're not through talking about this." He says sighing, as he opens the door. "I'll see you at home." He looks at her. "I love you."

"I love you too." She replies quietly.

He reaches over and turns her face towards him. Leaning over, he kisses her. After a moment, he leans back. "I only want to protect you."

After a few seconds, she swallows and says. "I know. I'll see you at home."

"And we'll talk about this some more." He says, as she nods. He gets out of the car, leaning in he says. "I love you."

"We love you too." She replies. He closes the door and then steps back as she starts the car. He stands beside the car as she backs out.

Joseph walks out of the Springfield Police Department. After the officers removed him, he was arrested and held until his arraignment. An agent walks up to him as Joseph turns to walk away. "He wants to see you."

"Not now." Joseph says, brushing past him.

"Yes now, he's demanding to see you." The man replies, taking Joseph's upper arm. Joseph pulls away from him and then turns to walk away. The man follows him. "Where are you going?"

"I am going home. I'm taking a shower and then I'm going to get something to eat and then I might take a nap."

"The Director…."

"Can wait, I've just spent the night in jail. I'm tired and I'm hungry." Joseph says.

"You weren't supposes to get arrested. You're undercover."

"That's right, I'm undercover I have to play the part. They had me bugged, you fool. Why do you think I asked for another pair of clothes?"

"Your car was impounded. You have no way back but with me."

"Yes I do." Joseph replies, looking at the man beside him.

"I'm not authorized to pay…."

"Authorized or not, I spent the night in jail. The US government can get my car out of police impound." The agent starts to say something but Joseph interrupts him. "I'm not arguing this with you. Now you're coming with me and you're getting my car out of impound." Joseph says, laying his hand on the agents shoulder.

Jeffrey walks back into City Hall. When he reaches his office, he closes the door as Stace looks up. "I'll be on a call." He says, as she nods.

"Yes sir." She replies, as Jeffrey walks into his office.

Closing the door behind him. Walking over to his desk, he sits down and then dials Noah's number. "Noah Chase." Noah says, after the third ring.

"Noah, its Jeffrey."

"Jeffrey, this is a surprise. I've talked to you more in the last four months then I have in the last four years."

"I know."

"So, what's up?"

"I need you to arrange something for me."

"Okay." Noah says, sitting back. "What's going on?"

"Umm, there is a bit of a situation that I think we need to look into."

"In Springfield?"

"No, actually it's in Laurel Falls. We… Sam has reason to believe that there is an organization in Laurel Falls, injuring children."

"This sounds like something for social services, not our agency."

"It likely is, but I need you to look into it. Sam wants to go after these people on her own and I can't let that happen but she's not going to let it go. So will you look into it?"

"I'll see what I can do. Can you give me some more information?"

"There was a patient brought into Sam's clinic. She's a young girl. Her shoulder was severely injured by a man that's called the Deacon. While Sam was examining the girl another man showed up, demanding that Sam turn the girl over to him. Sam refused and called the police. They arrested the man and Sam treated the girl and then she was placed in social services."

"Who brought the girl in?"

"We thought it was the nurse from the Laurel Falls High School, but Sam went to talk to her after this all happened and found out that the woman wasn't their nurse. We've later found out that the woman was actually the girl's mother. She's been arrested for kidnapping because she didn't return the girl back to her father in time."

"So we're looking at possible child abuse and custody issues."

"Yes, not to mention the religious implications."

"Religious implications, I don't understand."

"The man that was sent to get the girl back kept insisting the Sam was from the devil and that she would fill the girl with the devil if Sam treated her. This is all bringing up Sam's past and her mother. I understand what's she's feeling but I still can't let her take these people on."

"Alright, I'll send a couple agents to look around and speak to people but I can't promise anything more than that."

"I'm sure that will be fine."

"I'll be in touch. By the way, how is domestic life treating you?"

"It's great. We just moved into the house that I bought for her."

"That's great, how's the baby?"

"It's fine. If I can keep her from going off half cocked as she puts it."

"She's smart Jeffrey. She's not going to do anything to jeopardize this."

"She is smart, but this brings up memories she had a hard time dealing with. I understand where she's coming from, at least to some extent but I still have to protect her and the baby."

"I'll send agents to look into it and we'll get back to you."

"Thank you."

"Oh, I meant to tell you, congratulations on the Alan Spaulding conviction."

"I didn't really do anything, but thank you."

"We'll talk soon."

"Thanks again Noah."

"You're welcome, give my love to Sam."

"I will." Jeffrey says, hanging up the phone a few seconds later.

Sam is coming out of a patient's room when Leah rushes up to her. "Dr. O'Neill, he's back." She says.

"Who is back?"

"The guy that was here yesterday. The one that….

"The one that came after Arianna. He's back?"

"Yes."

"Did you call the police?"

"No, when I saw him I came to get you." Leah says, as the receptionist walks up.

"Dr. O'Neill." She says.

"I know. He's back." Sam says, looking at her. "Leah, go to my office and call the police and then call Jeffrey."

"Yes ma'am." Leah replies, turning to go."

"Ma'am, he showed a badge." The receptionist says.

"He showed a badge. Did he I.D himself?"

"No, he just asked to talk to you."

"I'll go see what he wants. Leah, stay close."

"Yes ma'am." She says, as Sam turns for the front office. Opening the door, she walks out to the lobby as Leah and the receptionist follow her. Sam walks up as Joseph turns to her. "There's no reason for you to be here."

"I came to apologize for what I said yesterday."

"You came to apologize? I don't know where she's at?'

"I do." Joseph says, reaching for his pocket.

"Keep your hands where I can see them." Sam says, taking a step back.

"I'm getting my badge. I'm not here to hurt you. In fact, I wanted to thank you."

"I'll get the badge." Sam says, reaching for his pocket. She pulls out a wallet size case and flips it open. She looks at the badge. "You work for the Justice Department." She says, looking at him.

"Yes."

"Why didn't you tell me that yesterday?"

"Because I couldn't. I'm undercover and this Deacon guy is paranoid."

"How did the Justice department get involved with this?"

"Is there someplace we can talk privately?"

"Yes, my office." Sam says, turning for the door. Leah and the receptionist step back as she opens the door. "We're going to my office. Leah would you make that second phone call that I asked you to make and when he gets here, bring him back."

"Yes ma'am." She says, reaching for the phone.

"You're calling your husband." Joseph says, as Sam turns to look at him.

"Yes, I am." She replies before she turns back around.

"Very smart, it's best not to take chances. That badge could be fake."

"I'm pretty sure the badge is real. I promised my husband that I would stay out of this." Sam says, opening the door to her office. Joseph walks in and Sam follows him, leaving the door open. "Have a seat." Sam says, walking around her desk.

"Can we close the door?"

"No." Sam says, sitting down.

Joseph nods and then says. "The badge is real. I'm with the Justice Department."

"Why are you investigating this group? It's a local matter, is it not?"

"No, it's not. This investigation started in Georgia."

"Georgia."

"Yes, the leader of the group is from Georgia and he's ordered all of his followers to come here. They've been here for less than a month but we've been investigating this group for a couple years now."

"Where in Georgia?"

"New Hope, it's just north…."

"I know where it is. What's the name of this man you're investigating?" Sam asks, watching him.

"He's name is Jeremiah Whitmere.'

"You're investigating a Jeremiah Whitmere, for New Hope Georgia?" She asks softly.

"Yes. Do you know him?"

"He's my…" Sam takes a deep breath. "He's my brother."

"Jeremiah Whitmere is your brother."

"Yes. What did he do to get the attention of the Justice Department?"

"He was initially under investigation by the IRS for tax evasion. In their investigation they uncovered evidence of possible fraud and bribery." Joseph says, as Jeffrey walks into the room.

"Sam." He says, looking at her, immediately realizing that she's upset. He turns for Joseph and reaching for him he pulls out of the chair. "What do you want? And why are you in here, by yourself, with him?" He demands, glancing at Sam.

"J, let him go." Sam say, jumping up.

"Sam, you're…."

"He's a Federal agent." Sam says, interrupting him.

"What!"

She reaches for the badge lying on her desk and hands it to him. Releasing one hand, Jeffrey takes it and opens it. He glances at it and then looks at Joseph. "You work for the Justice Department?"

"Yes. I came by to apologize to your wife and explain." Joseph says, as Jeffrey releases him.

They both stare at each other until Sam says. "I had Leah call you so that you would know what was going on."

Jeffrey looks at her. "Leah only said that he was back. Why are you in here?"

"I wanted to know why the Justice Department is investigating the group in Laurel Falls. He asked if there was a place where we could talk privately. So I brought him to my office, leaving the door open." Sam says, nodding towards the open door.

Jeffrey looks at Joseph and then holds out his hand. "I'm sorry. I thought…."

"Given what was said yesterday, I understand the reaction." Joseph says, sitting back down.

"So why is the Justice Department investigating this group?" Jeffrey asks.

"Could we close the door now?" Joseph asks.

"Yes." Sam says, looking at Jeffrey. He walks over to the door and closes it. "Agent Mueller was…."

"Call me Joseph." Joseph says.

"Alright, Joseph was just explaining what is going on." Sam says, as Jeffrey walks back to them and sits down next to Joseph.

"Yes. This originally started in Georgia."

"Georgia." Jeffrey says, looking at Sam.

"Yes. Their investigating Jeremiah." Sam says.

"Jeremiah, as in your brother."

"Yes."

"It started out as a tax evasion case for the IRS, but during their investigation they uncovered evidence of possible fraud and perhaps bribery."

"I was sent in undercover. I've stayed on the fringes of this group up until about a month and a half ago." Joseph says, looking at Sam.

"What happened then?"

"Your brother left for a few days after hearing some news. When he returned he ordered everyone to pack up and move to Laurel Falls. So during the last few weeks, he's been giving me more and more responsibility."

"Why would he move up here?"

"We're not sure. But since he's your brother maybe he came up here to be closer to you."

"I doubt that. We're not close. And you've found out nothing about his plans."

"No. If he's not here to be closer to you, maybe he's going to run. Laurel Falls is only about an hour from the Canadian border.

"If he's going to run, it won't be to Canada. My brother hates cold weather so if he's going to run it'll be to the islands or Mexico."

"He wouldn't come to you if he's in trouble?" Joseph asks.

"No, we're not close."

"We had him escorted out of our reception." Jeffrey says.

"You had him escorted out of your reception." Joseph says, looking at him.

"Yes. He attacked her after he found out that she was pregnant." Jeffrey says.

"That was after he tried to force me to leave before the wedding." Sam says.

"So he wouldn't come to you for help."

"No."

"Alright, I'll be sure to tell my director every thing you've told me." Joseph says, standing up.

"Are you sure he didn't come up her to come after her?" Jeffrey asks.

"No, I'm not." Joseph says, looking at him as Sam stands up.

"Thank you for coming by." Sam says, holding out her hand.

"I wanted to apologize." He says, taking her hand and shaking it.

"There is one more thing. The women that brought Arianna here. She was arrested for kidnapping."

"We know about it. It's a local matter."

"How…?"

"We understand." Jeffrey says, interrupting her. "Let me apologize again for attacking you." He says.

"It's fine, but thank you." Joseph says.

"You're welcome."

"If you need anything else please let us know." Sam says, walking around her desk and to the door as he and Jeffrey follow her. Opening it, she turns to shake his hand before he leaves. Closing the door, she turns to Jeffrey. "Why did you interrupt me?"

"It's out of his hands Sam, you know that." Jeffrey says.

"It's not totally out his hands. He could at least mention something to his director."

"Which he probably will do." Jeffrey says, looking at her. "I don't like when we're fighting." He says, as she turns away.

"You know I can't stand by and let her be tried and convicted of kidnapping. She's not guilty of…."

"I know she's not. I'll talk to Mel." He says, walking over to her. "And I'll tell her that you're willing to testify on the mother's behalf."

"You would do that."

"Yes, now what are you going to do about Jeremiah?"
"What can I do? If he's broken the law, I can't help him and I doubt that he would expect or accept my help in the first place."

"You don't think it's strange that he moves to Laurel Falls within weeks after our wedding."

"I don't know what he's thinking. He has no reason to come here." Sam says, leaning against her desk.

"If he comes after you..."

"I don't think he will." Sam says, reaching for him.

"Am I forgiven?" He asks, standing up.

"I wasn't…" He looks at her. "Okay, I was. But you totally over-reacted. I told you I would let Frank and social services handle this. I meant it."

"I know you did." He says, brushing her hair back. "I panicked when I couldn't reach you."

"You could've called the clinic. They would've told you that I was with a patient." She says, putting her arms around him.

"I didn't think about that." He says, hugging her to him. "The woman I knew in Russia wouldn't've let this go so easily."

"People change." She says, laying her head on his chest.

"I know." He says, hugging her tighter as Leah knocks.

He releases her as she says. "Yes."

Leah opens the door. "We've closed the office for the day." She says.

"It's after five." Sam says, looking at the clock.

"Yes ma'am." Leah says.

"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yes ma'am, have a good evening then."

"You too." Sam says, as Jeffrey nods and Leah leaves.

"Are you ready to go upstairs?" He asks.

"Yes." Sam says, taking his hand. They walk out of the office. She closes the door behind them. When they get upstairs, Sam turns to him. Taking a step closer, she says. "I'm sorry I jumped…."

"Don't apologize. I would know something is wrong if you didn't get mad." He says, as she smiles.

"What do you want for dinner?"

"Right now I want something else." Sam says, leaning up to kiss him.

Reaching for her, he pulls her to him with one arm around her waist as he lays his other hand against her throat. She deepens the kiss, moving closer as he slowly moves his thumb over the pulse throbbing in her throat. Reaching up, she wraps her arms around his neck. He brushed her hair behind her ear, moving closer to her. She sighs as she melts against him, pressing her body against his. She tries to become apart of him. After several minutes they part, each gasping for breath.

He stares intently into her eyes, as he reaches for her waist. Pulling her shirt up as she releases him, lifting her arms. He pulls it over her head and then leans in and kisses the side of her neck, pressing his lips against the pulse beating there. She reaches up and pulls his tie free before she unbuttons his shirt, pulling it up as she goes. She breaks the kiss, watching him as she works each button free.

She never once touched his skin, but they each felt the sparks that flow from her fingertips. After a few seconds, he can't hold back. Reaching for her, he pulls her against him again, grabbing her lips he sucks every wanting sigh from her as she moved on to his pants. He reaches for her scrubs, pushing them down as she works his belt free.

He felt the button pop as she unfastens the clasp on his pants. Shifting his hips slightly trying to relieve some of the pent up passion that he was barely holding in check. Tugging slowly, careful to not hurt him she unzipped his pants and then settles her hands just inside along his waist, breaking the kiss he stares down at her, shifting again, trying to make her move her hands. "Beca what are you doing?" He gasps, letting his head lean against hers. He tightly closes his eyes as he breathes deeply. She only smiles

Reaching for her waist, he pulls her to him again. He reaches for her scrubs, pushing them down as she reaches to help him. She kicks her shoes off as they fall to her knees. He reaches for her panties, as she kicks her scrubs off and reaches for his pants, pushing them down, taking his boxers with them. Taking a step back he glances down, watching her. She reaches up for her bra and he pulls her hands away. Reaching around her, he unfastens it and she shrugs out of it, letting it fall to the floor between them. He pulls her to him hard. She reaches up she clasps his hands and whispers. "Patience, J. We have all night. Breathe."

"I can't, I need you now." He replies, shifting his hips again, trying and failing completely to relieve some of the strain that holds his body in tight control. She recognizes the struggle and reaching up she slips her hands between his legs, holding him. "Beca!" He groans, holding onto her shoulders as she caresses him. He feels his body swelling even more. Closing his eyes, he whispers. "Beca, please."

He doesn't finish as she releases him. Gently pushing her back, he reaches for her breasts as they walk slowly towards the couch. Her knees bump against the couch and she sits down. Looking up, she watches him before he leans over her and whispers. "I want to make love with you."

And I want to make love with you too." She replies, staring at him.

Kneeling, his body surrounding her, forcing her back against the couch. Settling against her, she stares up at him. Laying her hands at his hips while her eyes caressed every part of him, before settling on his hips. She watches him respond to her before he leans forward. "You make me want you so much." He whispers, against her ear before he gently kisses her neck, nibbling on her while she pulls him down against her.

She feels the heat of his body sear her skin when they touch and she arches against him as he moves his hips against hers. "J" She cries, as he smiles, settling into a steady rhythm "Ah, you're killing me." She sighs as he closes his mouth around her breast. His tongue matching the rhythm of his driving hips. With one hand buried in his hair the other clasping his waist, she moves with him. He feels the heat building within them both, settling back, he stops as she cries out. "Jeffrey, please don't stop."

Leaning up, he slowly enters her, and she arches her back trying to speed him along, but the more she tries to hurry the slower he moves until she finally gives in and settles for his slow steady entry. Her acceptance drives him over the edge. He thrusts deep, in a hard but steady rhythm, pushing each of them to a higher plane of existence. Arching her back and hips she takes him deeper with each thrust. Her body holding tight to his, as she pulls him down to her. She needs to feel the weight of his body against her. She needs to feel the heat as it builds between them.

She wraps her arms around his hips, holding him tightly as he moves with her adding her strength to every rolling thrust. He feels her heated breath wash over his chest. He feels her clinging body tighten against him, pulling against him when he pulls back and opening when he thrusts forward, until without warning he stops moving. "No" She cries, glancing up at him her gaze begging him to continue and he can't resist her.

Moving again, he feels the moment she's taken all she can. He settles against her unmoving as her body clinches around his, and she arches her back, crying out. "Yes."

"Sam." He groans, moving his hips. Thrusting deep, the rhythm hard and deep, pushing them both higher and higher still.

"J" She screams, holding him tightly. They collided again for the final time, both releasing sighs of ecstasy.

He lies there beside her, each gasping for breathe. She wraps her arms weakly across his back. Closing her eyes, she feels his hot breath caress her skin and she feels the heat ignite again, pushing against him until he sits back. He looks down and then slips his arms under her as he sits up. Sitting on top of him now, she moves franticly against him. Laying his head back, he closes his eyes. Letting his body soak up the movement of her hips. He feels the escalating heat rush over him, throbbing against her. Laying his hands on her shoulders, he moves them down her body, touching first her breasts and then her stomach.

He feels her rapid breathing and let his hand settle there for a few moments, holding their child while he watches her. His focus forces her movements to connect to the rhythm of her breathing, arching his back she sank farther down, taking him deeper as her muscles cling instinctively to his. Moving his hand, he settles his fingers against her, rubbing and caressing her. Driving them both higher and higher, he feels what his touch is doing to her with each driving thrust. They both know the instant they reach the final pentacle.

"J" She cries, as her body clings his, and she feels his release fill her again. When the final shudder flow from their bodies she collapses against him. He wraps his arms around her holding her until they're both relaxed again.

Moving off him, she settles against him. Her arm lying casually across his waist. With one leg intertwined with his and her head resting on his shoulder she holds onto him tightly.

Megan pulls into Company. Parking, she gets out and says. "Come on, boys." They get out and follow her into the restaurant. Buzz is at the counter when she walks in. "Hello, welcome to Company." He says.

"Hi, thanks." She says.

"Take any table and we'll be with you shortly." He says.

"Thanks." She leads the boys over to one of the tables.

A few minutes later, Ashley walks up to the table. "Welcome to Company. My names Ashley." She says, handing them menus. "Do you need a moment to look or are you ready to order?"

"Give us a minute." She says, looking up.

"Yes ma'am. I'll be back in a moment." Ashley says, walking away.

"Momma, when are we gonna see Sam?" Mattox asks.

"We'll call her as soon as we finish eating."

"But we want to see her." They both whine.

"We will, but we can eat first." Megan says, as she looks up. "Do you want a hamburger or grill cheese?"

"I want a burger." Mattox says.

"I want chicken strips."

"You can't have chicken strips. You're allergic."

"Alright." Madisen says, sighing. "I'll have a burger."

"You can split an order of fries." Megan says, looking over the menu.

Ashley walks up. "Are you ready to order?"

"They'll have burgers and they can share an order of fries and they'll have juice to drink." Megan says, as Ashley writes it down. "And I'll have the chili, mild and coffee to drink." She says, handing her the menu.

"Will that be a large or regular chili?"

"Regular." Megan replies, as Ashley writes it down.

"We'll have that out in a moment." Ashley says, turning away from the table.

Turning his head, he lightly kisses her forehead as he says. "I love make up sex."

"Make up sex, is that what you would call it, make up sex." She says, leaning back to look at him.

"What would you call it? We've been fighting."

"I was showing you that you're forgiven for not trusting me."

"I trust you." He says, leaning up to kiss her.

She lies down beside him, snuggling closer. "I don't like it when we fight. I never have."

"I know." He says, turning his head to kiss her forehead. "You were right. I should've called the clinic." He says, as a phone rings.

"Is that mine? He asks, as she moves to get up.

"No, it's mine." Sam says, reaching for her scrubs. She pulls her phone out of her pocket as it starts the third ring. "It's Megan." She says, answering the call, as he sits up. "Megan, what's up?"
"Hi. What are you doing?"

"I was spending some time with Jeffrey. What are you doing? How are the boys?"

"They're fine. Ummm, are you still at the loft?"

"No, we've moved into the new house, last weekend actually, why?"

"Would you mind coming to Company, because I'd love to see it."

"Company, you want to see my house. What do you mean?"

"I mean I've moved to Springfield. I'm transferring to Springfield U and the boys start school next week."

"You moved to Springfield! Why?"

"There was no reason for me to really stay. Patrick is involved with his life. The boys are with me. I've got the courts permission to bring them here and we're working out the custody agreement. But other than Patrick, who else did I have in DC. Other than you and you're here. So I decided to transfer to Springfield U and I'll start classes next week."

"You're here." She says, looking at Jeffrey.

"Yes. We're at Company right now. The boys are finishing their dinner."

"We'll be there in twenty minutes, make that thirty." She says, getting up.

"Okay." She says. "I'll see you then."

Sam hangs up and then turns to Jeffrey. "What's going on?" He asks.

"Megan's moved here. She's at Company right now." Sam says, reaching for their clothes.

"She's at Company, now?" He asks, getting up and following her to the stairs.

"Yes. She worked it out with the court. She's transferred to Springfield U and the boys are starting school next week."

"What about Patrick and custody?" He asks, following her into their room.

"Things with Patrick are pretty much over and they're working out the custody issue. But she's here. She wants us to meet her at Company." Sam replies, walking into the closest. Throwing her scrubs towards the hamper, she goes to get clean clothes.

"Why did she decide to come here?" Jeffrey asks, walking into the closet.

"I suppose because I'm here. I've got to take a shower." She says, turning for the bathroom.

"Wouldn't she go back to Georgia?"

"No." Sam stops and looks at him. "She's like me. She has no reason to return to Georgia. We sort of consider each other to be the only family we got." Sam says, turning the water on. "I'll be out in a minute." She calls, as he walks into the bathroom.

"Why don't we take a shower together?" He says, as she steps into the shower, looking back over her shoulder at him. "We both can behave. Megan's waiting on us."

"Alright." She says, as he walks into the shower with her. They each take turns taking a shower before Jeffrey reaches around and turns the water off.

He leans in, kissing her softly before he leans back. "Next time."

She looks up and smiles. "Come on." She says, reaching to open the door. They get out and she hands him a towel. They both dry off together. Jeffrey's the first to finish, dropping his towel on the floor, he walks out as Sam bends over and picks his towel up, hanging it up with hers before she leaves the bathroom. "Is it too much to ask that you hang up the towel when you're finished?" She asks, he turns to look at her. And then he turns back to the bathroom. "I've already got it, but it only takes a few more seconds to hang it up, rather than dropping it on the floor."

"I'm sorry." He leans over, kissing her cheek.

She looks at him and then shakes her head. "We've got to go." She says, reaching for the clothes that she'd gotten before she went to take a shower. Less than ten minutes later, they are both dressed. He follows her down the stairs and then opens the door for her as she slips her coat on. "You should really wear a coat."

"I'm not cold." He says, following her out of the house and closing the door behind them. "Do you want me to drive?"

"That's fine." She says, walking over to his car. He opens the door for her and then walks around to the other side. Getting in, he starts the car as he reaches for his seatbelt with Sam following him. Putting the car in drive, he backs out of the driveway and they leave.
