Chapter FOURTY TWO

Darque raised her hands, and spheres of black water appeared on her palms. They appeared, one after another, and they floated around the spirit. With a flick of her wrist, the spheres flew off, and joined the magic spheres in the air. Valkyrie smirked. Telling them apart would be very difficult.

The mages competing seemed to catch on a second too slow, as an explosion was heard somewhere to her right. She turned around to see Risely flying towards the ground. She hit the earth hard, and lay there, not moving. Her form flickered, and faded.

"And then Boom!" Cygnus repeated in her singing like voice. "You gotta be careful. You don't know which on is fake."

Yukino ordered Pisces to turn into their human form.

Darque smirked. Valkyrie took a deep breath, and strengthened the pull of the black hole. The spheres, water and magic, began moving towards her. Darque's careful eyes watched the spheres as they passed. Once in a while, she would points at one of the with her finger and snap her fingers. The sphere would then disappear.

Cygnus flew around above Jenny's head, taunting her. The Blue Pegasus mage had been dragged down when Valkyrie had activated her black hole magic on the ground. She quickly flew out of the way when Jenny jumped into the air, punching at her.

A black fire ball came flying at her, knocking her into a wall. Darque floated next to Cygnus. "She was jumping, therefore, she was off the ground." She said.

"Valkyrie wants us to take out the weaker ones." She whispered. "What do you think?" Cygnus simply giggled. She floated off somewhere and Darque rose into the air again, hovering over Valkyrie, on the look out for attacks. She blocked a flying chunk of rock with a black shield of ice. She glared down at Jura, who simply smiled up at her.

While Darque was stopping the attack from Jura, Pisces fired a water beam at Valkyrie. She opened a black hole and the attack was absorbed. She yanked Darque out of the way of a whole bunch of earth spikes.

A gasp sounded from below them, and Valkyrie glanced down just in time to see Cygnus burst into feathers and disappear. The last of Pisces's water beam also vanished. The moment the Swan spirit disappeared, the two Dragon Slayers, who had been under the effects of her charm speak, recovered. They still looked slightly dizzy, but Valkyrie knew that they would be up in no time. She knew she could knock them out, but she sort of wanted to play around for a while

Valkyrie apologized to Cygnus through the key telepathy, and turned to the Devil spirit. "Darque." She ordered.

Darque nodded. She summoned a wave of black water and shot it towards Pisces, who shrank into their water affected form. Yukino quickly sent them back and summoned Libra. "Libra, try and reverse Valkyrie's black hole."

Libra nodded, and swung her weights around.

Several of the mages were dragged to the ground. Darque turned into her full mist form and floated over to Valkyrie, surrounding the mage with her mist, almost like a protective barrier. Valkyrie summoned a black hole under her feet. The two forces of pull collided, sending out air waves.

"Darque, take her out." Valkyrie ordered. She ordered a black hole beside her head. The mist was sucked in, and Valkyrie smirked when a black shadow formed behind the Saber tooth mage. Yukino fell to the ground, and Libra burst into golden dust. The gravitational pull from the ground disappeared and nearby objects flew into the air. Valkyrie quickly weakened her spell.

Valkyrie flicked her fingers, and the black hole by Darque disappeared.

"She created a black hole behind Yukino." Jellal said. "It was so small that Yukino didn't notice. And Darque in her mist form didn't have any problems slipping through,"

Sting smirked. "Lucy's awesome!" He said.

Meredy grinned. "Didn't you know?" She asked. "If she wasn't, I wouldn't allow her to be with J-"

Wendy crashed into her, knocking them both into the ground. "I-I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, then leaned in and whispered. "Shhh" She sounded panicky. "You can't tell them!"

Meredy blinked. "Oh, right." She whispered back. "Sorry."

They both scrambled to their feet. The older males shot them suspicious looks, but shrugged it off.

"Unfortunately, she can't call out any of her other spirits, as Fairy Tail will defiantly recognize them." Midnight said.

Jellal nodded. "But she's strong. And she has Darque. She'll be fine."

Jura knocked out Jenny, still smiling like it was nothing, leaving him and Bacchus, Natsu and Gajeel, then Valkyrie and her spirit, Darque.

"You know, this is supposed to be a 'collect magic spheres' event, not a battle royal?" Darque asked. She lowered Valkyrie onto the ground, as all the others were on the ground as well.

"I didn't think you would complain." Valkyrie said turning to her spirit.

Darque shrug. "I'm not. I'm jut saying."

"I am sure that Valkyrie-san has the most points, but if only one person is left, the remaining person collect the left over spheres, right?" Jura asked.

Valkyrie nodded.

"Let's make this fun!" Bacchus yelled. He stomped on the ground, cracking it. Chunks of earth rose into the air. ""If you're on one of these, you're off the ground, right?" He yelled.

The commentators, too scared to say anything, hastily agreed.

Jura's smile brightened. He summoned several earth pillars.

Natsu whooped and jumped onto one. Gajeel followed. Valkyrie made her way up, followed by Darque. Jura and Bacchus arrived as well. The five mages faced against each other.

"The winner of our battle will win this event."

"Really?" Cobra asked. "Can't they just finish this thing?" He asked. "It's been going on for...twenty minutes?"

Jellal nodded. "It seemed so long, but the main part is just starting."

Sorry for the late update, but we were busy.

Some news:

Darque: I'm not going to be able to write from the 9th to the 16th, then from the 18th to the 25th. And since Raven's writing sucks, we probably won't be able to update.

Raven: I'm very offended. Anyways, what she says.
