Chapter FIFTY ONE

"Je-" Erza's gasp was cut off as Valkyrie darted forwards, catching her guildmate before he collapsed.

"Jellal!" She shifted herself so that she was positioned between Rea-Jellal and the two Fairy tail mages.

Jellal slowly got onto his knees. "I'm fine."

"What were you thinking?" Valkyrie scolded gently.

Jellal took a deep breath. "That you were going to get hurt?" He winced.

Vaklyrie sighed. "We're going to need to stop the bleeding..."

"We're still in the middle of our match." Jellal grabbed his guildmate by her wrist and wrapped his good arm around her waist. He then activated meteor and created space between them and the two stunned Fairy Tail mages.

"Sorry about the whole identity thing." Jellal murmured.

Valkyrie shrugged. "Well, I'm going to make the best of it." Jellal smirked at her words.

"Jellal..." Erza finally managed to get out. "What are you doing here?"

Jellal stood up with the help of his teammate. "Fighting for my guild." Valkyrie wrapped his arm around her shoulder, waiting patiently as he regained his balance. "Ready?"

Valkyrie nodded. She gracefully took the hand Jellal offered out to her and they both held up their free hands. A black hole appeared in front of them.

Natsu, who seemed to have recovered momentarily due to the threat, opened his mouth. "Roar of the Fire Dragon!"

"Black hole magic: Water beam!" Water shot out of the darkness, hitting Natsu's attack head on. The spells seemed to cancel out each other as they both vanished in a burst of steam.

Valkyrie reached into a black hole and murmured something. There was a flash and Gemini appeared in a puff of smoke. Wordlessly, they transformed into Wendy, who immidietly set to healing Jellal's shoulder as Valkyrie stood protectively in front of them.

"Why do have Lucy's spirit?" Natsu's outraged shout was ignored. When the Fire Dragon Slayer leaped towards them, Valkyrie swung her whip, forcing Natsu to back up.

Valkyrie reached into her black hole again. Another flash of light indicated the arrival of another spirit.

Loke appeared in front of Valkyrie, fiddling with his ring. "Your prince in shining armor has arrived."

"Loke!" Erza's sharp cry cut through the air. "Why are you with this...Valkyrie?"

"Erza." Loke greeted. "Natsu. Long time no see."

"You're Lucy's spirit. Why aren't you with her?" Natsu asked.

Loke's face became serious. "Lucy is busy at the moment." He said.

"Do you know why she left the guild?" Erza demanded.

"That is none of your business." Loke announced.

"But what if she's hurt." Natsu asked, then paused. "You still haven't told us why you aren't with her."

Loke didn't look like he was going to give out any more answers. He shot towards Natsu, fist blazing with Regulus's magic. Natsu moved to meet the blow, leaving Erza to face Valkyrie.

"Who are you and what have you done with Lucy?" Erza demanded.

Valkyrie didn't speak. Instead, she held up another black hole. "Black hole magic: Roar of the White Dragon!" Erza dodged the attack, moving in to deliver a attack of her own. Erza pressed on, slowly catching up with the mage.

Valkyrie gritted her teeth, and summoned another black hole. "Virgo!"

The maid spirit appeared in another burst of gold. She stood in front of Valkyrie and faced Erza. "Punishment?"

Valkyrie shook her head. "Battle." She said, taking in a few gulps of air.

Virgo shot towards Erza, who hesitated, before moving forwards. After a few minutes, Erza managed to send the spirit back to the spirit world, but by then, Valkyrie had recovered and Gemi-Wendy had finished healing Jellal. Gemini vanished in a puff of smoke.

"I'm sorry I'm late." Jellal said.

Valkyrie shrugged. "You better be."

"I'll buy you dinner." He promised.

Valkyrie nodded in satisfaction. "Deal."

Erza was beginning to have a nagging feeling at the back of her head, in a there-is-something-I-am-missing kind of way. She pushed away the tight feeling in her chest at the sight of Jellal and Valkyrie talking so affectionately and focused on the battle.

Natsu was still fighting Loke, who didn't look like he was going to reveal anymore.

Erza summoned three dozen or so swords and pointed them towards her opponents, and froze when Jellal stepped calmly in front of his guildmate, arms spread. He met Erza's hurt gave with a determined one of his own.

Erza's eyes narrowed. The swords flew forwards, only to be intercepted by a wall of pink wool. There was a gold flash, the sign of Meteor, and Jellal dragged his guildmate along as they escaped, out of Erza's direct reach.

The wool soon disappeared along with a continuously apologizing Aries.

She whipped around at the sudden pressure of magic, eyes widening momentarily at the sight of a very familiar looking spell being cast.

"Ih Ragdo!" A beam much larger than anything Erza had ever seen before came towards her. Erza threw her arms up a second before there was a huge explosion.

Natsu and Loke stopped in their fight, watching.

The first to appear was Erza, breathing heavily and leaning on one of her swords, but still standing.

Seconds later, the two Grim Requiem mages appeared. Jellal stood behind Valkyrie, supporting the female mage. Jellal's arms were draped over Valkyrie's shoulders, having formed the black hole together. The wind picked up, blowing the rest of the smoke and dust away. Natsu gasped.

The explosion had blown the hood right off Valkyrie, revealing blonde hair.

"Lu...cy?"

So, today, the 13th of March, is our birthday (Yes, both of us), and so, we decided to update!

Darque:...You know, I have a flute promotion test coming up on Saturday, IGCSE exams coming up in two weeks, and a flute grade exam coming up in August-November (I dunno exactly when)

Raven: Awww~ I feel your pain. Really, I do.

Darque: But really, I don't get why we need to know how plants make their own food, or why we need to know why the treaty of Versailles led to the Wall Street Crash (Germany between WWI and WWII).

Raven: Also things like how Chinese music usually uses the Pentatonic scale.

Darque: I know, right? I think musical terms have way too fancy names. I mean, why say Syncopation when you can just say off beat?

Raven: Questioning human behavior will not get us anywhere.
