Chapter FIFTY TWO
Lucy impassively ran her gaze over Natsu, then Erza. Still, Jellal could see her slight trembling.
"Lucy?" Natsu repeated, his voice slightly stronger. "What..."
Lucy tilted her head to one side. "Hey, Natsu, Erza. It's been some time." She took a deep breath.
"Some time..." Natsu trailed off. "What are you doing here, with Jellal?"
Lucy shrugged. "It's like he said. I'm fighting for my guild."
"Your guild is Fairy Tail." Natsu insisted.
For a moment, something flashed through Lucy's gaze, before it was gone. "Not anymore." She took a deep breath. "Sorry."
"It's got to hurt." Sting murmured. "I heard that Blondie ran away from home to join Fairy Tail. Also, Fairy Tail is the definition of family."
Rogue nodded.
"Deep down, nee-san always cares, regardless of what happened between them." Sting and Rogue looked up at the unfamiliar voice.
"You came!" Wendy exclaimed.
Meredy shared a confused look with the twin dragon slayers. 'Who's that?' her expression screamed. She got twin shrugs in return.
Midnight let out a chuckle. "I've got to admit, this was a smart idea."
Cobra sighed. "Never though I'd see you again."
"We're running out of time." Jellal said softly. "We have to finish this."
Lucy, without breaking her gaze with Natsu, nodded. She nodded at her former guildmates and closed her eyes. "Sorry." She repeated. Then, to Jellal, "Let's do this."
Jellal held out his hand and Lucy took it, just like the countless number of times they had previously done that. However, this time, they didn't summon a black hole. Their linked hands began to emit a warm, gold glow. They kicked off the ground and hovered in the air, using some unknown method.
Seeing this, Erza summoned her swords. Natsu channeled his magic to his fists.
"Ready?" Jellal asked.
"We've been training for this. Of course." Lucy replied. "I'm going first."
Jellal nodded. "Of course." Lucy smiled back. She then held out her left hand and slowly raised it.
"Survey the Heavens, Open the Heavens...All the stars, far and wide...Show me thy appearance...With such shine. Oh Tetrabiblos...I am the ruler of the stars...Aspect become complete...Open thy malevolent gate. Oh 88 Stars of the heaven..." The eighty eight constellation appeared around the pair in the form of spheres.
Jellal simply smirked. Seven magic circles appeared in the air around them, forming the shape of the Big Dipper.
"Shine!"
"Grand Chariot!"
"Urano Metria!"
The two attacks began to glow brighter, and the audience, as well as everyone else present, covered their eyes.
Natsu and Erza's voices sounded far away as they yelled out the names of their own respective spells.
Jellal gave Lucy's fingers a squeeze, and the two glanced at each other with a smile, before they turned to face the Fairy Tail mages.
"UNISON RAID!"
"Due to the force of the attack, the lacrima visions seem to be malfunctioning! We'll get them repaired as soon as possible."
The report of the MCs caused an uproar. Everyone held their breaths, waiting for the results to appear. Sting and Rogue were reminded of the time they had fought Natsu in the games. Just that this time, they were the ones watching the fight. Fighting was much easier than waiting.
"Jellal and Lucy won." Midnight murmured. "I mean, they've been training that Unison Raid for a pretty long time, and we all know how powerful it was."
Cobra nodded, a smirk on his face.
"Even their magic is similar. I knew it! Everything about them is perfect for each other." Meredy whispered.
Wendy let out a sigh.
Everyone in the Grim Requiem guild stand knew who had won. Still, if felt much better to actually confirm it.
The screen stayed black for a few more minutes, before it switched back on. The smoke made it very hard too see.
And then...
"It's Grim Requiem! Our now not so mystery mages are still standing!" There was a roar from the crowd. There was a pause to confirm if Natsu and Erza were really down. "The winners of this tag battle is Grim Requiem!"
Lucy and Jellal simultaneously collapsed onto the couch. The rest of the guild gathered around them, smiles on their faces.
"That was so awesome, blonde! As your fellow blond, I'm very proud!" Sting chuckled, ruffling Lucy's hair. Lucy was too tired to even complain.
"But now, people know who you guys are. The smarter members are probably suspecting Wendy's identity." Meredy pointed out.
Jellal nodded.
"i'm more worried about Erza." Meredy continued.
"Erza? Why's that?" Lucy asked.
Meredy blinked, and stared at the blonde. She then turned around and stared at everyone else, who were all shooting her confused looks. "You guys are hopeless."
True to Wendy's words, the couple-er...Jellal and Lucy, weren't happy when they were announced the winners of the previously mentioned competition. However, they bit their tongues to hold back from snapping that 1) They weren't a couple, and 2) They didn't remember entering the competition when they saw how happy the Dragon Slayers looked.
"Let's go tomorrow!" Sting yelled, waving the tickets. "It's a rest day, right?"
Lucy sighed and turned to Jellal. "Do you want to go on a walk?" She asked. "A lot of things happened today and..."
Jellal shrug. "Sure. It's getting noisy in here. We can relax."
Unbeknownst to them, Meredy and Wendy had heard the whole thing. "You know what I'm thinking?" Meredy asked.
Wendy shuddered. "No, but from what your previous 'you know what I'm thinking' led us to the last time, I do not want to know."
Meredy giggled. "We are going to follow them!"
And they weren't the only ones with the thought.
By the time Lucy and Jellal staggered back into their inn, they were more tired than when they had left. Did someone mention something about relaxing?
The moment they had stepped into the streets, they had been crowded by people, who had begged them for why they were together. After they continuously declined, the crowd finally dropped the subject, only to start asking about their relationship.
They had finally managed to escape when they had created a hologram as a distraction, then they had slipped out of the crowd using a Black Hole.
Lucy greeted them and quickly went to make herself a sandwich as Jellal looked around for something to eat.
They had been planning to eat outdoors, but they had completely forgotten to do so due to the crowd. Sting joined them, still waving the tickets. "So, what'd you say?"
Lucy sighed. "Ask our guild master." She said.
Sting groaned, shooting said master, who was now busy giggling at something Wendy had said, a look. "But I don't know her."
Lucy quickly sat up. "Oh, right." She then called everyone to the 'living room'. "Guys, I forgot to day this. I'll formally introduce the master of our guild."
Wendy smiled softly.
"This is the guild master of the Grim Requiem. My beloved sister, Michelle."
We would like to apologize for the SUPER late update. We were busy...and had lots of other fics we were working on...yeah.
Sorry. (Raven: Blame Darque. She writes, I just edit.)
Okay, the guild master thing. Sorry if it wasn't as exciting as we first made it sound...
Did you know that the magic circles for Urano Metria and Heavenly Body Magic are the same? Just saying.
Woz rushed. May have some mistakes...Just a warning.
Darque: So, right now, I just finished this thing called 'Work Experience', where I had to find a work placement and 'experience' a week of said work/job. Get it?
Raven: Darque went to this Art Studio place. Apparently, it was-
Darque: VERY BORING! The children there were like...arg! I wanted to help them draw everything.
Raven: Well, if there's one thing you're good at, it's drawing.
Darque: :)
