Chapter 2: The day a demon was reborn

"god! Collective unconscious! Please don't stop the march of time!"

Lelouch woke up and immediately straightened himself, another one of these dreams again, man, you could think that with all of them he could write an entire book. In fact, he made a collection of his dreams in a notebook, he had built a series of events with what he remembered, it was like someone wanted him to know something, but what? Looking back at the notebook, he had the beginnings of a masked man named Zero which killed a prince and saved his best friend, and now there was probably the continuation to his betrayal by the group he had created, 'the black knights'. He had been having these dreams since his 17th birthday, surprise surprise, his dream's main character was of that age

'Was this how writers get their inspiration? They note down their dreams and make connections with each events to create a storyline?' It made a decent amount of sense, but he could barely remember these dreams and nothing else, the dream of another life he had, or else he was really self centered, the main character had a fake name of Lelouch Lamperouge and was royalty in reality! and looked exactly like him, well, he himself had a little more physique but he couldn't blame the main character in his dreams, that guy was planning a rebellion, he had better to do than attend PE!

Lelouch, now out of his train of thought looked over the bed to his alarm clock: 1:42, seems like he wont be going back to sleep tonight. With a sigh, he got out of bed and went over to the couch in his living room.

He had inherited the apartment after his father passed away. Charles Lamperouge was a strict man, but caring nonetheless, he worked hard to ensure that the Lamperouge household was always a cozy and nice place. He had left him with a lot of money, enough to pay for university, food, and still have a good amount leftover for other luxuries Lelouch would wish for, but that was mostly books, well the more recent ones, his mother had a very large book collection, to this day he hadn't even read half of the books, but not all of them interested him much.

Marianne Lamperouge was killed in a terrorist attack when he was 10, or so he was told. The body was apparently so torn apart that his father did not authorize the little boy to not open his mother's coffin. a tragic event, to say the least, Lelouch had found comfort in books, while his father found closure in work. His father died a few months ago from cancer, a bit after his 18th birthday, while suffering from depression, for his son sake he had not committed suicide and had stayed strong until he was unable to breath, only then did he allow death to take over. Charles Lamperouge was strong, until the very end.

As Lelouch looked out the window into the night sky and metropolis of Tokyo, he contemplated the beauty of the world he lived in, no matter the circumstances for why he was standing alone in the darkness, watching the stars and traffic below.

He walked over to the sofa, sat down, grabbed the book he was currently reading from the tea table, Black Goat's Egg, opened it up at the bookmark, removed it and started reading. This was going to be a peaceful night.

20th ward: Aqua building, at the same time

In the darkness was a woman feasting on multiple corpses, eating them, she was covered in their blood as she gluttonously ate their flesh. She happily spread their insides over the ground, with not much care for the cleaners. After all, she wasn't the 'binge eater for nothing.

"More, more, i want more!" Screamed the woman as she drank some of the blood of one of her poor victims.

"…delicious"

Suddenly, a man walks in cracking his index finger, he seems to be quite tall and well built, with nice clothing to accompany the whole, and a mysterious mask covering his face.

"It looks like they weren't kidding when they called you a glutton". The mysterious new appearance said.

The woman dropped the meat she was eating on and answered irritatingly "i hate being interrupted while i'm eating". But she still kept a small smile on her face, as if she was going to enjoy the next few minutes.

"I don't suppose you know who i am. He said, raising his chin, as if it was the most important thing in the world.

"Oh, but i do" the woman responded, getting up, she clearly didn't enjoy being interrupted during her meal, but could torment the annoying man that came and stopped her dinner, it looked so good too.

"Your a boring man that enjoys harassing others" she continued, causing the man to laugh, he thought she couldn't be further from the truth.

I've got orders from above" was his response, if it was to threaten her, it didn't work.

"I'm supposed to take you in alive" he continued, as if to bring some reassurance to his opponent, yet again, it didn't do anything.

"But before i do, maybe'll i'll take a finger or two, an arm or two, or even a leg or two". He exclaimed with new founded sadism in his eyes and voice, cracking his middle finger, ring finger and his pinky. He was going to enjoy himself tearing her apart and leaving her to the edge of death so he could bring her in alive. The 13nth ward Jason truly was a sadist, and a fine one at that.

He then proceeded to grab in both hands the weapon he was holding, it seemed to be made of metal and perfect to tear out flesh while causing maximum pain, truly fitting him.

"You don't mind, do you?" He asked, not really a question though, he already knew the answer. His sadism reaching heights he found were sensational, of course, that was his opinion of things, it wasn't shared by the person he was about to dismember, or at least, attempt to.

"What a small toy for such a big body" the binge eater casually responded. "I bet you like playing house" she continued, clearly insulting the man who was threatening to torture her.

"How adorable". At this comment, Jason dashed right behind his prey and whispered into her ear. " let me…take them from you". Although not addressing anything particular, knowing him, he probably meant her limbs.

Suddenly, his Kagune was unleashed, attempting to crush The binge eater, causing a lot of smoke to rise up.

It was too late when he realized he had missed his target and 2 tentacles were now piercing the aquarium that was in the background during their exchange, causing a wave of water to flow out when the pressure broke the glass. The water overwhelmed the predator as the prey escaped, having stole Jason's weapon.

"Give them back" he slowly said. "Their mine!" He started shouting angrily, while the woman was looking at the weapon on the rooftop she managed to get to during her escape, not finding much interest when she heard another angry shout "Give them back to me!".

"I'm not going to waste my time on you" was her simple reply, as she tossed the weapon across the rooftop, she then followed up by disappearing, leaving her only trace the pile of bodies she was feasting on before being interrupted.

Later that day

Lelouch had a hard beginning today, spending most of his night reading instead of sleeping, he slept through his first class, and could barely pay attention to the second one, he went through the entire day like this and would probably have to ask Kaneki or Hide to pass him some notes on the subjects.

Lelouch met Hide and Kaneki during his studies at Kamii University, were he made friends with Kaneki when they discovered they had the common passion of reading, snd would spend hours debating who was the best character of a book or how the author could have improved here and there. Hide obviously felt left out and made friends with Lelouch too. He enjoyed Hide's company because it brought an air of comfort and relaxation in his usually tense lifestyle, studies and life in general.

But right now, things weren't looking so bad, Hide, Kaneki and him were currently at Anteiku, drinking coffee and having a nice little chat with the news of a ghoul attack last night was playing, he didn't really care, even though it was in the 20th ward. For if Lelouch started worrying about ghouls starting now, he might have to start taking medicine to ease his stress and that was probably not going to help him in the long term.

Anteiku was a nice coffee shop in the 20nth ward that Lelouch went a lot to, in fact, he was the one that introduced Hide and Kaneki to this place, he found the atmosphere refreshing, snd the coffee was divine. Amongst the people he's seen most work at Anteiku were the manager, mr Yoshimura, an old man with nice white, grayish hair, well dressed, with kind smile on his face and closed eyes displaying all the confidence and wisdom of this expert coffee brewer. And there was Touka Kirishima, a girl with long purple hair covering her right eye with a matching purple eye. They all seemed pretty trustworthy, well to Lelouch anyways.

Right now though, Hide was laughing his ass off at Kaneki's idea of a date.

"Its not that funny…" Kaneki said, trying to calm Hide down. Well, who was Hide to talk? If you wanted to bring a woman to a bookstore because you both shared the same passion is a good thing right?

"Im just saying, you can't be serious about going to the bookstore as your first date!" The blond man replied with enthusiasm. Lelouch found the conversation amusing, so he'll stand back for a while.

"And why not?!" Kaneki answered, with a bit of spirit and the old embarrassement gone. "She might even like it for all you know!"

"I'll state this just for you, but it'll never happen. Case dismissed." Hide tried to end the conversation, and to reinforce his point, he swipped his hand a bit, as if it was simply impossible.

"Huh? Then, first, i'll take her out to Big Girl, and we'll get a burger…" Hide and Lelouch both snickered, how naive Kaneki could be sometimes, it was cute and adorable, he was almost like a little brother.

"Im being serious here!" Kaneki half shouted, trying to keep his last shreds of dignity.

"Its fine, Kaneki, its just like you" Lelouch finally interfered. "Its just our friend Hide that thinks that a date obviously rimes with movies, expensive restaurants and a walk through the park, he's been reading too much romance if you ask me"

This sent the laughing Hide into a stuttering mess of denial, and Kaneki stopped defending himself, it seemed that now the scape goat was going to be his best friend, well, too bad for him then.

"That's not true at all, after all, i've taken plenty of women out on dates before!" Hide pridefully exclaimed, but that was quickly shut down by Lelouch.

"Do you also count the amount of times you've been rejected by them? Because otherwise your still at Zero."

"Hey, don't you dare judge me, you haven't scored a single date!" Hide countered, pointing his finger at his tall friend.

"Well, if i based myself off your standards, i've gotten more date proposals today than you have asked in your life" he casually replied. Yes, Lelouch was the black prince of Kamii. In fact, in his dreams, he was also the black prince of a school called 'Ashford academy', but back to real life. The man every woman had at least asked out once, of course, he simply replied that he would be more interested in that type of thing after studies, but that apparently made him dreamier, how did it that work?! And no matter how many times he said that, they'd come again after a month, and so on so forth, it was not the greatest lifestyle.

"How dare you! Just because you have the looks mean nothing! They don't know the personality of Lelouch Lamperouge, the lazy student and kaneki's twin!" Hide tried to save his situation, not working very well.

"And? Did you convince any of the ladies of your ideal personality? Look Hide, Kaneki has a higher chance of scoring a date than you". Lelouch casually replied. He was unbeatable at the game of arguments. Of course, women beat him. You can never win an argument against a woman, he would try to stay out of those types of arguments.

"T-t-thats impossible! You know what Lelouch? I despise you! And for that, i'll leave you with the bill!" Hide exclaimed, looking almost evil, he was surely satisfied with himself as he walked towards the exit.

"Hide, that's not very nice!" Kaneki finally interrupted, he was staying calm during the recent parts of the conversation since Lelouch came to save him, but Kaneki, being the nice kid, felt outraged by his blond friend's attitude.

"Its fine Kaneki, i deserve it. Hide does take a lot of pride in his flirting skills"

"Huh…ok" was Kaneki's only reply.

Hide was about to exit when he turned around to face Kaneki and Lelouch.

"Lelouch, don't ever insult my skills again, and Kaneki, good luck with that cute girl! Although i think its just an unreachable dream!" Hide then left, closing the door.

"He sure is annoying sometimes…"Kaneki said flustered. Lelouch was having a good chuckle out of this situation, when he heard the doors open again, his bookworm friend seemed to be blushing with a happy face. It intrigued him, so he turned around. Sure enough was a woman, quite beautiful, with purple hair that he was sure he saw somewhere else before, an hourglass figure, nice clothes and a nice little smile, that Lelouch had a part of his brain screaming at him that it was fake, but he didn't care. He could now see why Kaneki was interested in her, but even he felt like she would be a hard catch. She seemed shy and reserved, plus her beauty, which Lelouch had to admit, probably got her to be asked out on a lot of dates. This was going to be hard. He wanted to hook Kaneki up with someone before Hide, so he could tease him about it. Yes, Lelouch was a little mean devil, a harmless one, but one none the less. Little did he know, how easy it would be to hook Her and Kaneki up.

Kaneki's 'date'

It was currently noon. Kaneki, Lelouch, and Kaneki's date Rize, were at a restaurant. For some reason, it was painfully easy to hook the two up together. Kaneki though, like the shy bookworm he is, brought Lelouch along. Although invited, he stayed mostly behind, and tried to not interrupt Kaneki's possible only attempt at love. Lelouch was astonished. The girl has the same love of books than Kaneki and loved the same author! If this wasn't a match made in heaven, the he didn't know what it was. But something in the back of his mind screamed suspicion about the woman. So he still stayed on guard, just to prove the little fucker at the back of his mind that it was wrong.

For most part, it was going whiteout a hitch. Although she had barely eaten and was in the restroom, They had managed to do a lot of things. Of course right now, Lelouch had to prep talk Kaneki which was on the verge of dying of nervousness.

"Your doing fine Kaneki, your doing fine, she even seems like she's enjoying herself. As long as you pay the bill and keep her happy, there is no reason to be scared." Lelouch's attempts were futile though, as Kaneki, although calm, was shaking in denial, that even if the smallest thing went wrong, it would be over.

There was no longer a choice for Lelouch, he had to pull out the big guns. He never lost arguments. Well except for women, but it wasn't the point damnit!

"Kaneki, if you keep acting all nervous, your going to screw this up yourself. I don't want you to fail, and we gotta prove to Hide that you can fetch women better than him. So, act normal, and tell yourself all will be fine. If you want, i'll announce him the news of your successful date later and allow you to listen to his reaction". This got Kaneki thinking, he was no longer shaking, and was seemingly ready to ask a question.

"Lelouch, why are you so calm about this?" Was Kaneki's question, it didn't suprise him much, but he didn't have an answer.

"Well uh…i have to be a good friend and set an example for you on your first date, then otherwise, what kind of friend would i be? Now then, stay calm, take a deep breath, and act like you are confident about your situation" was Lelouch's made up response. He saved that one quite well, if you asked him.

"Yeah, your right, i have to stay calm and act confident!" Kaneki finally lit up with newfound determination. This got Lelouch to chuckle a bit. Right then though, Rize came back.

"I hope i didn't make you wait too long, Kaneki, Lelouch"

"No it was fine, we were simply talking about school, now then, would you let me pay the bill? Then we can go to the library a few blocks away, i heard it has quite a lot of books to choose from" Kaneki announced his plan, it felt quite good to Lelouch, if both were bookworms of course

"Oh? Well then, lead the way" Rize answered. Soon after Kaneki payed the bill, all three of them went to the library.

Hours had passed and it was nighttime now. Rize wanted to head home. She was afraid of the ghouls at night. Of course, Kaneki, like the perfect gentleman he was acting like offered to accompany her, but Lelouch stepped in, saying that after tomorrow Kaneki had an exam, which he had totally forgotten about, and a big one at that, and that he should revise, since from what Lelouch knew, the little bookworm was not a maths person. He quickly apologized, although both Lelouch and Rize said it was no problem and left. Instead, Lelouch offered to walk her home. He had a bad feeling in the back of his mind, and the little fucker residing back there was screaming so loud he had a massive headache. It calmed down after he got Kaneki to leave, but it was still there.

"Lelouch was it?" Rize asked, breaking the silence that had installed itself between the both of them as he brought her home.

"Yes, what is it, mrs Kamishiro?"

"I would like you to relay a message to Kaneki dear, Lelouch" Rize continued.

"What would that be?" Lelouch inquired. This must mean that they weren't far from her home. Lelouch was content at that. But first, the message.

"Will you tell Kaneki dear that his date was amazing, i'd like to do it again and…" she got closer to Lelouch, like to tell him a secret. Lelouch's little fucker was giving him the biggest headache of his life, but he was too shocked by hearing that Kaneki had made it!

"That i'm sorry for the death of his friend" Rize said so with a gigantic grin, showing off her teeth, and bit into Lelouch's shoulder. Lelouch then felt pain, and blood surging out of the wound into Rize's mouth. He stumbled back a bit, completely shocked, looking at his shoulder and holding it. His face in pure shock.

"Oooh…that tasted good…you might make quite the good meal. A bit thin but…you should do. You have almost no fat and some flesh…i'll take my time killing you!" Rize Cackled as she unleashed her Kagune, 4 tentacles, all red, almost like flesh, came out of her back, and charged Lelouch, which was too busy slowly walking away facing the ghoul, his mind filled with shock.

she then grabbed Lelouch, holding him close to her face, stabbing his left kidney, then smashing him through the wall into the construction site next to them.

"Lelouch…where are you?" He heard Rize ask playfully, he was too busy getting up, holding himself on a part of the wall, his left hand on the wound she just inflicted. His thoughts scrambled up, but one coming through clearly. The fear of death.

'Is this how i'm gonna die? Damnit…Hide…Kaneki…mom…dad…Power! If only i had Power!' Lelouch thought, but Rize was already facing him, a delighted grin on her bloody mouth.

Suddenly Lelouch felt a voice in his mind. Seems like the little fucker stopped screaming for once and was talking to him. You desire power? Then…Remember who you truly are, Lelouch Vi Britannia!.

He felt a gigantic surge of memories return to him. All those dreams were reality! They were his previous life.

'I am…'…'i am ZERO!' With that, the geass flared into his left eye, although he was now covering it with his right hand.

"Something is not right…what happened to you Lelouch? A change of personality?" Rize asked, still delighted with the fact that her prey was turning mad.

"Tell me…in this world, ghouls are strong, humans are their prey, yet humans kill ghouls in the name of justice? Are they wrong? Since ghouls consume humans to live, and call it natural…tell me…Rize, who is correct? Which side truly holds justice?" Lelouch asked, piercing through Rize's eyes, awaiting her answer.

"Does it matter? Your going to die! Im going to scramble up your insides…your just a weak human…born weak, and will stay weak!" Rize exclaimed, a bit startled at Lelouch's total change.

"You speak like a man i once knew…a cruel tyrant…but, what if this human striked back and killed you? What would he be then?" Lelouch asked, but he received no answer, as Rize stabbed him through the stomach, it hurt him like a bitch, but he kept his grin.

"Not gonna answer huh? Well then…Lelouch Vi Britannia commands you!" Lelouch spoke with complete confidence, it caused Rize to take a step back, Lelouch then removed his right hand from his geass, revealing it in all its glory. The intimidating presence then doubled with this new addition. Rize then felt something…the emotion of fear.

"DIE!" Then, the geass flew into Rize's eye, which was not believing how the tables turned so quickly. She was the binge eater! He was a pathetic human! Her meal! Alas, Rize lost control of her own body, as her Kagune aimed at her head.

"Of course, your highness" she answered as the 4 tentacles smashed through her head, probably nothing remained of it after that, but Lelouch's vision was blurry now, the loss of blood, and soon the loss of consciousness, the only reason he knew it had worked, was the giant explosion he heard of blood, it could probably be heard for hundreds of meters away.

He then fell to the ground, knocked out cold when his head smashed against the ground, his final thoughts were one of victory, the one he brought upon this ghoul.k

'Beware…Zero has arrived…and he is fresh out of mercy'.

On this day, a demon was awoken.

Author's notes: well then, there goes chapter 2 hope you enjoyed. This chapter is 4000 words long, longer than the previous one for sure. I was aiming for 3500 but i went a bit overboard.

I first wanted to release this on Tuesday, but i wanted to get this one out early.

for the reason why The collective unconscious gave Lelouch access to the world of C will be for next chapter, i don't want this story to be only Tokyo Ghoul characters with a lelouch twist, so you will get a view on the timeline of Code Geass, and possibly more transfers. Who knows. But there certainly will be involvement of more Code Geass characters than some other Tokyo Ghoul/Code Geass ficts.

I also apologize for the poor english, at some times (a lot) i fail my syntax and grammar, so i'll try to improve that
