It was quite early in the morning when his alarm rang, Lelouch knew that since he programmed it, and his new roommate was not a morning person, since C.C. had thrown it right into his face when it rang. She must have been in a terrible mood to get out of her (his) bed, walk over to the living room and throw it with precise accuracy into his face.

Yesterday, C.C. had wasted over 10 thousand yen in pizza, the apartment was bathed in its constant smell. She had also claimed his room and thrown him on his sofa for having refused to spend over 10 thousand in pizza. The remnants of the dish were the boxes, the only thing the witch could not eat.

He got up, a little tired and in pain, that alarm did a number on him. Walking to the kitchen, and preparing a cup of coffee. Lelouch had gotten some cheap canned coffee during C.C's pizza spree, and it turned out he could drink it, so for now he would stick to it, as his hunger was only somewhat quenched with his meal last night, but a few fingers would not hold him up for long.

While the coffee was cooling, he checked his school bag, he did have an university to attend to, and pulled out the Zero mask from the other bag he brought from the hospital. As usual, its mysterious aura surrounded it. The symbol of the man of miracles. The raven haired youth smiled as he recollected his time as the masked vigilante.

Once the coffee had cooled, Lelouch drank it quickly, got a black coat on, the one he wore yesterday still had a small sent of blood. He then grabbed his school bag, keys and whatever else was needed, before dropping 2 thousand yen on the kitchen counter. He also quickly wrote down the phone number of a nearby pizza hut, and stormed off.

The walk to Kamii was uneventful, as usual, people walked up and down the streets, and the endless amounts of noises that a city could produce. He walked up to his usual meeting spot with the friends of the old him. He wanted to have an impression of them in his head, if they were anything like his old friends, Lelouch was sure he could be fine with them.

"Lelouch!"The called upon raven haired boy turned around to see a man with blond hair and a happy grin, just behind him was another raven haired boy, he seemed happy, but with a more shy demeanour than his counterpart.

"You have been gone for so long! If it was not for Kaneki, i would have died of Loneliness!" The man Lelouch now remembered as Hideyoshi Nagachika, the more energetic and carefree of his previous self friends, wrapped his arm around his shoulder, in a friendly manner. Hide, as he wanted to be called, reminded him a bit of Milly and Rivalz, he seemed to be a mix of both, maybe whiteout Milly's crazy side, but that was always a plus.

"ah, good morning to you too Hide". He casually replied, looking over to Kaneki, which was now catching up with them. Kaneki Ken, the more reserved and shy of them, was a bookworm, he resembled Nina with his shyness.

"Good morning Lelouch! Its been a while! Sorry about Hide, he was very excited to see you again". The bookworm explained, but to Lelouch this kind of acting was simply how friends were with each other, so he didn't mind.

"Its fine Kaneki, i am used to it anyways. I understand why Hide is like this".

"You missed so much my dear Friend! You are lucky Kaneki took notes for you in all the classes you both attended or you would be in a far worse situation than you are right now!" Hide exclaimed.

"well, I hope it was not too much trouble for you kaneki" He looked over to the boy in question, who was a bit nervous.

"ah! no no it was fine, anything to help out".

"Anyways, since im part School Festival Planning Committee and my friends there asked me to get some CDs from a upperclassman, do you guys mind following me?" Hide immediately cut in, he seemed he wanted to do something.

"y-yeah! Sure!" Kaneki immediately answered with some stuttering.

"I dont see why not". Lelouch followed up. At those answers, The blond haired student grinned, and turned in a direction.

"Follow me then!" Hide moved energetically forward, his arms behind his head, his other two friends close behind him.

'You know what? I think both of them are good people, they may very well be friends to me'. Lelouch thought as he followed his new friends, making small talk with each other, while ignoring the gazes of some of the female students. It seems even here he could not escape the adoration of the fangirls. Still, take that C.C!

Once they reached the building in question, Hide spent a little time getting to where our upperclassman was at. When he barged in, a woman screamed, startling Kaneki a bit as he jumped, Lelouch cocked one of his eyebrows in curiosity, until suddenly a woman rushed out of the room, covering herself with her arms.

"oops". Was all Hide said, as he walked into the room, followed by his two friends.

"Nagachika…I really hate it when people barge into my territory like that…". The student inside had hazelnut hair, and a pair of glasses. He looked right at his newcomers with a silent gaze.

"Dont you know how to knock?" The upperclassman said, his eyes checking scanning them all.

"Im sorry! It wont happen again!" Hide pleaded, and it seemed the man was fine with that, as he made no further comment.

'Wait…is that…'. Lelouch could not think further when the man's gaze fell on him, his eyes looking right into his. Both of their eyes widened in surprise, only to quickly narrow, as if in a duel.

'Nishiki…the ghoul from yesterday Toka dealt with. He's a student and a ghoul?'

"uh, so your both with Nagachika then?" Nishiki asked them, Kaneki and Lelouch nodded in affirmation.

"Yep! These guys are my friends Kaneki and Lelouch!" Hide explained, grinning at the secret ghoul.

"nice to meet you". Kaneki said,

"pleased to make your acquaintance"Lelouch said as well, as he got closer to them.

"Well i am a second year student from the pharmaceutical department, Nishiki Nishio, its a pleasure, Kaneki, Lelouch". Nishio said, as he stared down Lelouch, both smirking at each other.

"Um guys? Could you stop looking at each other like that? its kinda creepy…"Hide suddenly interfered in their match, both then broke off eye contact in the seconds that followed. Then, the pharmaceutical student turned to look at Hide.

"You needed something didn't you Nagachika?"Nishio said, looking around the room soon after asking that question.

"uh yeah! I need some CD from last year's store…". Hide said, as he followed his upperclassman's gaze.

"how about we split up? Nagachika, look over on those shelves, you two try helping too."

"alright! Well you heard him, lets get to work!" whiteout anything else said, all four of them were looking for the CDs, Lelouch though found it weird, this man, ghoul at night, acting human in the day, almost as he was back when he was Zero. For the second time that day, he found himself smiling at those memories.

Even though some were hellish and crude, others were funny and relaxing. Before they betrayed him he found the black knights somewhat refreshing to be around. They had correlating goals and could get along, even if in the beginning and end there were a few tensions.

He kept searching, until Nishiki, raised his hand to his forehead and said in a deadpan voice: "I believe I brought that disk home".

"For real?!" The blond ball of energy exclaimed.

"Im sorry, but right now, shall we go get it?"

"At your house? Well i guess we can…". Hide then turned to face Kaneki and Lelouch "Sorry guys, , ill go along with Nishio to his place! You guys can leave if you want!".

Nishiki and Hide kept talking, Kaneki was listening on the conversation, and Lelouch was thinking.

'This is his ploy to get Hide come along with him so he can devour him isn't it? The ghoul Nishiki Nishio is currently deceiving his fellow classmates and teachers by acting human, meaning this is a mask for him. His true ghoul self will show when he wont feel the need to wear it, and will strike then. Yet i know the truth, and even though i have only known him for less than half an hour, he is one of the few people I have as friends, i wouldn't want to end up alone so early…'

Lelouch then remembered his meeting with Nunally and Suzaku. 'Hide is innocent, he hasn't seen the horrors of this world, to allow this ghoul to eat him would be a crime, a crime against what little white is left in this world…I wont allow it to happen.'

Lelouch spoke up:" would you mind if we came with you Hide? If its not that far away, we could pass by Big Girl or Anteiku for something, and hang out".

"eehh?!"Kaneki exclaimed, suddenly brought into the conversation.

"Lelouch, you and your mind, yeah, thats a good idea, lets do that!" Hide gave a thumbs up to him, and in the corner of his eye, he could see Nishio's gaze narrow, but suddenly returning back to normal.

"o-ok…". Kaneki said, agreeing to the idea.

"do you mind Nishio senpai?" Hide turned to Nishio, who simply nodded. "Great!

'If were more numerous, i doubt he would attack.. yet i cant shake off this feeling…whatever happens though, i still have geass, and with my hunger somewhat dealt with for now, i believe i can use it whiteout problems.

And soon after, they set out for Nishio's place.

On the way there, they had stopped to buy a snack, their upperclassman did, and bought all 4 of them Taiyaki, Lelouch felt absolutely nauseated by the smell, yet Hide and Kaneki enjoyed theirs. Nishio refrained from eating it for now.

"So only Nagachika is part of the committee?" He suddenly asked, prompting all three of them to look at him, Hide was the one to answer. "Yep! Kaneki isn't one to interact with people! Lelouch though could, but he refused, even though he's quite reserved, he has an amazing mind!"

They kept on walking after that, and Nishio finally looked at his snack, which Lelouch had managed to throw away by standing a bit behind the group in some garbage can whiteout anyone of them realising it.

The ghoul and Hide were having a conversation when Nishio bit into his Taiyaki, whiteout any sort of disgust, and even commented on its taste.

'Wait, he can do that? He must have been practicing this for a while, i couldn't stand the smell of it for longer than 5 minutes, he truly has perfection his mask as a human flawlessly, an amazing facade of deceit, a mask that he worked hard to perfect, like all of us, raised to blend perfectly into society. Yet, once he can, he will remove and turn back into his real self, a ghoul, and hunt, kill and eat humans.'

Then, they turned around a corner, Hide, who was first, suddenly said:"this is a dead end." And before any further comment could be made, the ghoul kicked him, sending him into the wall opposite of them, most probably knocking him out, before falling to the ground.

"Hide!" Kaneki screamed, but before he could rush to aid his friend, Lelouch grabbed him by the shoulder, his eyes cold and calculating, telling him to refrain from acting.

Nishio stood before them, Lelouch had placed himself in front of Kaneki, in a sort of defensive position, their opponent was slightly smirking, gazing right into the purple eyes of his enemy.

"I didn't expect another ghoul to be on campus…but it seems i was wrong…Lelouch"

"huh? Lelouch, what is he saying? We have to help Hide! He's injured!" Kaneki shouted, yet Nishio and his friend ignored him.

"stand back Kaneki, this man is a ghoul". Lelouch shocked his friend by saying that, before turning to gaze at the ghoul. "Nishio, stand down, i wont allow you to eat them".

"Of course you wont, you were planning on eating them weren't you?"The hazelnut man said, still smirking.

"Lelouch…is what he is saying true?" Kaneki was shaking behind him, staring fearfully at both of them.

"No, Kaneki, i wasn't going to eat you, you are my friends after all, that would be betrayal". He spat out that last word, he hated betrayal, it had taken everything from him at a point.

"You reek of female ghoul lelouch, its disgusting…" Nishio then appeared behind him, too fast for Lelouch to cast his geass, and he then kicked Lelouch full force to join Hide, but it wasn't enough to knock him out.

"Lelouch!" Kaneki screamed for his second friend, as the former crashed into the wall, still standing, next to Hide. He looked at his unconscious friend, and looked back at Nishio, who was holding his friend in a chokehold.

He then throws him at Lelouch, which miraculously manages to catch him, but still knocks him into the wall again with the force of the throw, now he was sure he had something broken.

"Lelouch…are we going to…die?" Kaneki asked, eyes filled with tears threatening to spill, the fear behind them.

He gritted his teeth. This ghoul was deceitful, and fast, too fast for him, he couldn't cast his Geass in time to get him, and he was sure if he wanted to, Nishio could have finished them off already.

"no…we won't…i promise you we will get out of this one alive…". He swore to his friend. Lelouch then placed Kaneki next to Hide. "Take care of him". Was all he said as he took a few steps forward towards the ghoul.

"Your still defiant? Im faster and stronger than you, accept your defeat already". Nishio said, kicking Lelouch back to Kaneki and Hide, almost hitting them. His still conscious friend watched with horror, as blood spilt from Lelouch's mouth.

"your injured…".

"i am fine". Was all he said as he walked to Nishio, who was now where he used to be, only two meters separating him and Kaneki.

'I cant give up now, if i always gave up when fighting someone stronger than i was, i would've never challenged the emperor of Britannia, or even the idea of it. I was reborn in this world for a reason, I will not allow this to go to waste!'

Lelouch placed his hand over his left eye, preparing to unleash his Geass, but the ghoul kicked him again, sending him into the wall again.

'Yet, this is not the same thing…I have the intelligence, but not the power to put it into use…my geass can only carry me so far…against opponents that move faster than the eye can see, i stand no chance…'

He painfully got back up again, ignoring the cries of his friend, he walked back towards his opponent.

"You don't know when to give up don't you? Your not even strong enough for me to use my Kagune, for a one eyed, your pretty pathetic." He sneered, watching his battered opponent, who was now clenching his fists, shaking, and blood dripping onto the ground.

'Pathetic…thats what I am in this world, is it not? I thought this was going to be the same as it was back, all I had to do was act like Zero, bring supporters to my cause and change the world…yet, i am unable to take down even a small ghoul…I may have been the Demon Emperor or Zero, but here, all my power is gone…'

He took another kick, crashing into the wall, this time close to shattering, as Nishio now stood above them, Kaneki whimpering in fear, holding Hide's head, And Lelouch, leaning on the wall to keep him up, he could not keep his promise, but he had to stay strong, he still had his pride.

"finally, your beaten down, well i guess its time to end you." Yet, he got back up, but now, he looked different, Lelouch was smirking, his purple eyes burning with fire, a fire he carried over from his old life. One that even death could not tame.

"huh? What are you? A freaking zombie?" the ghoul spit.

"I guess, the others who knew me could say that…I was already dead before i came to this world".

'Power, I'm missing it all, i don't have enough, all i have left is my pride, and my Geass that refuses to activate…does that mean my other eye has come out? Well, it wont matter soon enough, i wont be alive soon…'

Nishio grabbed Lelouch by the neck, who was still defiantly smirking at him, his purple eye and kakugan staring right into his eyes. The ghoul unnerved, smashed Lelouch into the ground.

'Ah, i felt my skull breaking there, that's insanely painful, but so was the blade Suzaku ran through me, it's that same feeling, the one reality slipping away, so, I am going to die whiteout accomplishing much again...yet...I can't accept this...this is what got Rolo killed, this acceptance, is cowardly...' His vision was blurry, the world spinning around him, his ears ringing.

Lelouch woke up on a bed, in an huge empty room. All there was were masks hanging on the wall. He recognized the Zero Mask and his Emperor hat, he also saw a mask with the symbol of Geass spread upon it, another with an eyepatch. Then, a few set of clothes were hanging: His zero costume, his emperor clothes, his Ashford academy student clothes and his prince grabs. He got up, looking at his surroundings, there were paintings, just like when he entered C.C. mind, they were recounting the story of this world's previous him, yet fading, as if they were disappearing.

'Ah, this must be my own mind...these memories...the ones of this world's previous me...I was replacing them wasn't I? Another me that had a mind of its own, that I erase for my needs...

"We made it only this far...huh, that was more than I ever expected". A voice spoke. Lelouch turned around quickly, finding himself, a clone of himself, but with a more relaxed demeanor and warmer eyes, innocent.

"And who are you?"

"I am this world's Lelouch, the one you replaced. This is your mind, but they are my memories resting here, yours are slowly taking over, soon, the previous me will have disappeared, as if I never existed." His clone explained, looking at him sadly.

"Why am I here?" Lelouch asked, eyeing his clone, who was walking over to the hall of memories.

"To make a choice...you, are about to die, but your life force is strong, probably out of your previous will, but in this world, what you had before is worthless, it's of no use. Your power, is of no consequence".

Lelouch watched the memories of this world's him. They are many. From fond memories of his parents, Charles and Marianne, giving their love to their only child. He felt a pang of jealousy, but at least he had a normal childhood. Then, to the day he met Hide and Kaneki, a simply assignment for high school, ended up tying all 3 of them together for the next 4 years of their life.

"They are my best friends...even if those words mean nothing to you. They were all I had after my father died. I-I won't forgive myself if they died...so, at least...please, save them for me, even if i am of no consequence anymore, just at least do that...". Tears were slowly falling, leaving trails down his cheeks.

Lelouch sat there, stunned. His counterpart wanted them to live even if he was to die, that's how much they meant to him. While for Lelouch, the only person that could get these feelings out of him were his own sister.

"You don't have to die, your a part of me, you may be an artificial creation of C's world to help me fit into this world, but you have memories, feelings, more than whatever my father made of me when he brainwashed me.

"I, Lelouch Vi Britannia accept you, you are a part of me, as I am a part of you, let us save our friends!" He declared, surprising his counterpart, which after the initial shock, smiled.

"That's who you are, Lelouch Vi Britannia, at your core, you are a caring man." Was all his counterpart said before the room and he vanished, leaving Lelouch floating in the void.

'Now then, lets go save our friends'

He got up, like a zombie, feeling something burst in his back, 3 limbs he felt, tentacle like limbs. Lelouch looked at Nishio, who had his kagune out, holding Kaneki, threatening to stab him with his tail.

"Hmm? Oh, did you finally get up?" The ghoul said, looking over at Lelouch's rising body.

But, before Nishio could do anything, 2 tentacles had stabbed him, he dropped Kaneki who fell on his back.

"Huh? L-Lelouch!" He screamed, tears of joy filling his eyes, his look hopeful, compared to his previous fearful eyes.

"I promised" Was all the one eyed ghoul said before he rushed towards the ghoul.

"How dare you!" Nishio shouted, flinging his bikaku at Lelouch, which used 2 of his tentacles to deflect, shredding them apart, using his remaining one, he stabbed the ghoul before flinging him in the air and stabbing him multiple times again, his 2 other tentacles regenerating and joining the other one in stabbing Nishio.

"Wait stop! I'm going to Die!" He pleaded, but Lelouch was having none of it, as in a final attack, he threw Nishiki as far as he could, slamming him into a wall.

He was breathing heavily, the threat had been eliminated. He turned to face Kaneki, his eyes filled with a mix of fear, awe and happiness.

"L-Lelouch...your back!" Kaneki whispered, sounding relieved. The one eyes ghoul walked towards Kaneki, his fatigue catching up to him.

"How's...Hide...?"

"He's fine! Apart from when he was smashed into the wall...my back hurts but otherwise I'm fine too..."

'So we did it...some innate part of me allowed me to use the ghoul organ with decent skill...and, I saved them...'

"That's...good". Lelouch said, as he fell to his knees right in front of Kaneki and fell unconscious.

"Lelouch...are you alright?"Kaneki asked fearfully, until he jumped back in fright of a figure he saw. "AAAH!"

A green haired woman walked up to Lelouch, her amber eyes devoid of emotion, and she kneel next to his unconscious friend.

"E-excuse me miss...why are you here?" The woman turned her gaze to Kaneki.

"I'm here to check up on my partner, he's a real idiot sometimes." Was all she said.

"E-eh? Partner?"

"Yes". Again, another emotionless reply. They stayed like that for while. She would just look at Lelouch kinda creepily, her hand rested on his forehead, while he watched her do her thing. Wondering how Lelouch met her.

Then another woman though came in view of them, her purple hair covered one of her eyes. She looked at Kaneki, then Hide, the mysterious green woman and Lelouch, particularly his wounds, and then to Nishiki, who had a huge hole in his stomach.

"You both witnessed this...for the safety of these ghouls, I will have to kill you both." Was all she said, shocking Kaneki another time today.

"W-wait! Please don't Toka! " Kaneki shouted, raising his hands to protect his face. The green haired woman however calmly got up and walked to the intruder, who looked at her questioningly.

"My friends needs medical care, would you help me bring them to a place where we can treat them?" C.C. said, looking at Toka with uncaring eyes.

"Who the hell do you think you are?!"The purple haired woman shouted, she suddenly shut up when the other woman grabbed her hand, her face turning deathly pale.

"Wait...what did you do to me...?" She asked, looking at C.C. in fear.

"I won't ask again, could you take care of my friends and bring them to a place where they can heal?"

"Fine! Whatever!" Said Toka, quickly hiding her fear of C.C. in her usual fashion. The witch though simply nodded. She then turned to Kaneki.

"Help us out will you not?" Her question seemed normal but he could tell the danger and order in her voice.

"Y-yes Mrs...?" Kaneki hesitates, not knowing her name. "C.C." was what she said before she grabbed Lelouch, got him on her shoulder with ease and walked towards Toka who was picking up their ghoul aggressor.

He quickly got Hide up and rested him on his shoulder, carrying him in an awkward way, and they all followed Toka in direction of Anteiku.

On this day, a Demon made 2 friends.

And done! Now I'm proud of this chapter, for different reasons and I like think, let me know what you think about it! Also, I was wondering, should I follow the manga, the anime, or maybe mix them up?
