A little note: As seen on Dokuga. Originally this was a interconnected drabble collection created with the prompts from dokuga_contest. However, since dokuga_contest is no longer running, I'll update as I see fit with prompts I select myself.

Mayu
Eyes fluttered open and came face-to-face with an open door that looked out to the garden. The pain had faded, and its place was a dull ache. Kagome inhaled deeply and slowly shifted her gaze down to her right arm.
If she had not traveled with Inuyasha for so long, she probably would have lost her dinner at the sight. Nobody had bothered to bandage the limb, but as Kagome stared at it, she perfectly understood why. Such a damaged arm would not heal with it smothered in fabric. She tried moving her fingers, but they barely curled at her command. Her entire arm was stiff, and upon trying to lift it, she realised she could barely move it at all. But that was the least of her concerns, for as she continued testing her arm's limits, she realised she could not feel anything. Her limb was completely numb from below the elbow...
The door slid open, capturing Kagome's attention immediately.
"Mama!" Mamoru exclaimed as he skipped inside. He jumped onto the bed beside her and curled his tiny arms around her good arm. He nuzzled her shoulder, shaking slightly. Kagome smiled, he must have been worried. Another figure appeared in the doorway, and Kagome's breath hitched when she looked up.
Mamoru's sister was everything Kagome imagined she would look like. Soft white hair, golden eyes, two adorable little ears and little fangs protruding from her mouth as she pouted. She was beautiful, and the thought of having proven herself to the little girl brought tears to Kagome's eyes.
"Don't stand there, silly! Come sit," Mamoru ordered his sister. She hesitated, but then slowly made her way to the bed and settled by Kagome's legs. Her golden eyes stared at the human woman boldly, and Kagome immidiately knew which one of the pups took after their father more.
"I'm assuming you transformed because I saved your father?" Kagome asked.
The girl nodded.
"So I finally proved myself?"
Another nod.
Kagome laughed happily. It had been one of her biggest concerns, for she would not have been able to complete her mating unless the little girl accepted her. Kagome was one step closer to becoming Sesshomaru's mate, and it warmed her heart.
A third figure appeared in the doorway, and Kagome did not have to look to know who it was. Sesshomaru stepped inside and closed the door behind him. He walked around the bed and settled on Kagome's right, careful not to move or touch her arm.
"It seems we are now a matching pair," Sesshomaru hummed.
"Oh?" Kagome asked with a tilt of her head.
"We both only have use of one arm," Sesshomaru concluded. Kagome blinked. She had become so accustomed to Sesshomaru only having one arm, that she never truly noticed it. He was so adept at carrying on with one arm, that it was almost as if he always had two.
Kagome laughed. "Indeed. You be my right arm and I'll be your left?"
"That can be arranged," was the playful reply. Kagome laughed again and leaned her head on his shoulder, this time very aware that his arm was missing. She wanted to ask so many questions, particularly regarding what had happened after she lost conciousness, but for now she was content just being with him and the pups.
Speaking of the pups...Kagome lifted her head to look at the newly transformed pup in the eye. Her golden gaze was still stern and focused, but Kagome could see the curiosity burning within them.
Kagome smiled. "What is your name?"
The girl glanced at her father, who nodded. She then turned back to Kagome and smiled, two dimples forming in her cheeks.
"Mayu."
A/N: Kagome wasn't the only one who forgot about Sesshomaru's missing arm. I'm so used to it (or used to the idea that he has it back), that even I forgot about it! Haha.
