It was a beautiful night, the moon shining down creating a glow against the deep ocean waters of Saké Island. The stars shining brightly in the perfect weather. It would've been a perfect evening, more than perfect actually, had it not been for the townspeople currently fearing for their lives. Many locals outright gaped, others hid in fear in the "safety" of their homes, and a few even ran away completely, screaming in shocked horror at the battle happening on their usually peaceful docks. Bodies of Marines littered the port, whether they were unconscious or dead, no one could tell. There were at least half a dozen totally destroyed walls, a few collapsed buildings and almost every ship on the docks had been reduced to nothing but ply wood, drifting in the ocean like garbage. A Marine sail was clearly visible floating in the ocean as if forgotten.
A man emerged from a pile of rubble, irritated eyes scanning the area seeing some of the locals staring at him with fear as if he was going to hurt them. They were in the way of his current fight, couldn't they just leave? Why did people really have to stick around in the middle of such things? It's like they had no sense of self-preservation. He moved his torso and immediately felt a shot of pain run up his side. So, that blow he had just taken broke a few ribs, eh?
"Killer Punch, show your face, yoi!" Marco yelled out in a rare irate tone. He didn't bother using his Kenbunshoku Haki, he already knew that she was on her way toward him.
The clicks of heels could be heard, the people that had gathered to see the Phoenix commander being punched into a wall quickly dispersed at the woman's reappearance. As she stood a few meters away from him, dusting off her dripping wet clothes with a grimace, Marco could see the effect of his kick that threw her straight through some random ship and into the ocean. A large purplish bruise was beginning to form on her exposed side, pieces of the clothing ripped, courtesy of his razor sharp talons.
"The ocean, Phoenix?!" She yelled right back with another unattractive grimace. She was visibly shivering from the sudden late night swim.
"You needed to cool off, yoi." He answered with a small smirk, previous irritation at being thrown through a wall momentarily forgotten.
"Are you fucking kiddi—?"
He smirked, sadistic eyes flashing intensely, not letting her finish as eye catching trails of bright light blue flames erupted from his arms and back as the blond shifted into his hybrid form. Moving at the speed of light towards her with another Haki infused kick aimed right for that pretty little face. Aiko immediately dropped to a crouch just in time, barely dodging the attack, before getting up just as quickly to throw a punch his way. The Phoenix though tilted his entire body to the side in mid-air, -a move only an experienced fighter would be able to pull- dodging the punch that was nowhere near his face, but was able to become a long ranged attack with the help of Bunsoshoku Haki. Their missed attacks sent a wave of Bunsoshoku Haki into the air that completely obliterated everything in its path.
Without missing a beat, Marco shifted his legs into talons letting it sink deeply into Aiko's shoulder, making her yelp out in pain, before she grabbed his talon with a gauntlet clad hand and squeezed the living shit out of it. His face contorted in pain as he used his other leg to try and hit her, she immediately let go of him and jumped a few feet back, only for him to come rushing towards her with another kick which she blocked with an arm coated in Haki.
"That Haki of yours is getting annoying, yoi." Marco said, sadistic eyes glowing once more as he put max pressure into his kick.
Pressure too much for her one arm and Aiko was sent flying through a building, her back colliding roughly with its tough exterior. She didn't just go through a wall, but collapsed the entire bulding. The establishment continued falling down over her as Marco stood, staring at the rubble with a smug smirk.
CRASH!
Not even a moment later, all the debris that had fallen over was punched aside. Marco dodged a piece that almost came into contact with the side of his head. Aiko emerged from the rubble, bloodied and bruised, walking back out slowly towards the Phoenix who still hadn't lost that sadistic gleam in his eyes. From the way she was walking, Marco could tell the woman was absolutely livid and when he saw the impressive scowl directed at him, his smirk only grew wider.
That serious face all Red Hair Pirates seemed to don when they were finally serious was always a nice sight. Especially, since he had been itching for a fight for weeks, but no one out in Paradise could prove a good enough matchup, but now with Aiko looking like that, there was no doubt in his mind that he'd be getting the kind of fight his hands have been craving for. He'd definitely be satisfied, and unlike last time, there were no other Red Hair or Whitebeard Pirates around to stop them from letting loose.
She began tightening her gauntlets as they stared each other down. "Is this really how we're going to settle this, Phoenix?" She said coolly, Marco couldn't help but notice the steady stream of blood coming from the open wound he had caused on her shoulder. "By me spanking you?"
"And whose stubbornness do you think got us started, yoi?" He accused.
"It was your eagerness to fight that got us into this." She defended exasperatedly, which had him letting out a small grin.
"Are you okay, Hon?" He changed the topic in that overly confident voice of his as he assessed her bleeding shoulder. "Because you look terrible. Did I tire you out that much?"
"I feel absolutely peachy, dear." She shot back, hating the sound of his infuriating voice at the moment. Pointing a thumb to herself, she taunted, "Do you think you can handle another round of this?"
"Always, yoi." Came the cocky reply as he bent one leg and outstretched the other. Bringing flame filled hands to his front in his usual fighting stance.
"Show me what I've been missing out on these past few years then, hot stuff." She mocked, honey eyes becoming more and more serious as she got into her own stance. He could see red hot flames ignite from her hands, flames only those that completely mastered Bunsoshoku Haki to the point of utter perfection could bring out. He smirked widely at the sight of them, she had never used them against him before and he was excited to see how much power those fists of hers held. "I've missed your moves."
God. He wanted to kiss her.
"I'll play with you all night then, yoi."
Three hours ago…
The sun was just beginning to set in what would undoubtedly be a beautiful night. Sounds of laughter and joy from the locals could be heard all around. The two pirates were currently wasting their time after they had gotten crates and crates of booze for their crews back in the New World. They were waiting for either the Log Pose to set or for those pesky Marines to catch up with them, so that they could leave no ass unkicked. Marco sat on the rail of their ship drinking from a bottle of sake, a plate filled with meat sat next to him as he enjoyed the sunset and sat on forced lookout duty for any potential threats.
Listless eyes moved to stare down into the clear water where Aiko was currently splashing around in, without a care in the world. He could just barely make out her pale body shrouded by the dark ocean. Her hair was tied up in a neat ponytail, exposing the neck he hadn't been able to taste for years.
"Phoenix!" Aiko called up. "Come in with me!"
"Hah?" He asked, finishing up his grog. Marco would never risk going that deep into water, especially at night when the tide was strong. "Do you want me to die, yoi?"
"C'mon!" She said bringing her arms up to him as if inviting him to jump. "I'll even let you put your hands all over me."
Now, that was tempting.
But, not enough to have him jump.
"I'm fine where I am, yoi." He answered with a shrug, ignoring the pout that immediately formed on her face after he did.
She stared up at him wanting so badly to roll her eyes at his lazy attitude. He probably didn't want to get in because he didn't feel like getting wet. He suddenly smirked amusedly at her, before lifting a palm face up and letting his blue flames appear. Aiko couldn't help, but stare as he began moving his hand in the darkening sky, the flames leaving a trail. When he stopped, she noticed that he was giving her a cheeky grin that she had never seen before. Grinning slightly to herself, she held up her arms to the man in a silent gesture for him to get her.
He put his bottle down and shifted into his hybrid form, lowering himself slowly and hovering just over the edge of the water where she took a firm hold of his talon. The Phoenix brought her back to the deck slowly, her insides feeling somewhat giddy from being in the air. Marco was so lucky, if she had the ability to fly, she'd never come back down. Once her feet were firmly planted on the deck, he dropped down next to her; her entire body was dripping puddles of water onto the wooden floors and Marco willed his eyes to stay on her face, lest he do something he would regret.
He was quick to hand her the towel hanging from the rail as his eyes drifted back towards the sea feeling a large ship approaching. "You feel it too?" Aiko asked as she stared off in the same direction, toweling her hair to a manageable dampness.
"It's a big ship, yoi."
"Think it's the Marines?"
He nodded slightly, who else could it be?
"Where's that telescope, yoi?" He asked, whipping around to try and find the damned thing that always seemed to disappear when they needed it.
"Why not fly over there, Phoenix?" Aiko asked, she was at the door leading inside the ship, raising an eyebrow at him. "Give 'em a nice hello, for me."
He lifted his own already impossibly arched brow at her, slightly surprised at her not wanting to engage them when she was so excited just a few hours ago. "And you?"
"Changing." She said with a shrug, hanging the towel around her neck. "And I need to call Captain. Gotta tell him to go talk with Whitebeard about these two fruits."
He gave her a brief nod. He had almost forgotten about that, so distracted by her story that the two devil fruits completely slipped his mind. He hoped they'd come to a decision about who got which fruit fast, Yonko weren't exactly known for getting along. Well, then again, this was Akagami, the red head seemed to get along with almost everyone. But, somehow the thought of her calling that Captain of hers was rather… unsettling. Couldn't she just wait and let him call Pops' instead?
He blinked that stupid thought from his mind as soon as it entered.
Without another word, Marco flew off towards the direction of the ship in the distance. Aiko, made her way to their shared room and quickly dialed the Red Force.
Purupurupu-
Kacha.
"Aiko!" Shanks' voice screamed a bit groggily.
She rolled her eyes at the quick answer. As expected of her Captain, to always answer the Den Den Mushi not even after the first ring, he was always worried about his crew and for that she loved him.
"Yo!" Aiko greeted with a small grin.
"Ahh! It's good to hear your voice!" She heard a bit of shuffling, before, "OI! WAKE UP! IT'S ALMOST NOON!"
The sounds of groans could be heard and Aiko's grin grew even wider at that. They must've had one helluva banquet, she was almost sad that she couldn't be there for it. She wondered what kind of island they were on, what adventure they were having without her. The thought saddened her, but then she remembered that she was also off on her own adventure. One they'd pester her all about when she got back.
"Hah?!" She heard the sleepy voice of a crew member.
"Captain! It's still too early."
"Yea. Don't yell, Captain. My head is pounding."
A few groans and protests later, then Shanks as if not hearing –or not caring- that his crew was dying from his unbearably loud voice, yelled out once more. "IT'S AIKO!"
Aiko immediately heard the shuffling of dozens of feet, before the yelling started.
"AIKO!"
"WHERE ARE YOU?!"
"OI! OUR GIF-!"
"STOP PUSHING ME IDIO—"
"Oi, oi!" Aiko heard Benn Beckmann's authoritative voice boom out, the rest of the crew immediately shut up. "So, what's going on, Aiko?"
She smiled widely, the transponder snail in Shanks' hands imitating the action. "Well, I'm on Saké Island."
And the screaming begun again, but it was Shanks' voice who she heard most of all since he brought the receiver dangerously close and began yelling at the top of his lungs into it. "EHH?! BRING ME BACK SOME BOOZE, AIKO!"
"I've got thirty crates in storage for you guys," She heard cheering in the background, excited whispers of the large banquet they'd be having once she came back to them. "And a nice special bottle for Lucky and Yasopp."
"Oi, Aiko! What about me?!" Came Shanks' voice.
"I got you and Benn the best, Captain." She replied instantaneously.
"YA HEAR THAT, BENNIE! DAHAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed obnoxiously, "WE GET ONLY THE BEST!"
"One more thing…" She said seriously, letting Shanks' hear the serious tone in her voice.
"Hmm…?" The red head asked, all previous antics gone as he stared down at the small transponder snail.
"We've come into possession of two devil fruits." Suddenly, all noise on their end disappeared, meaning that she most definitely had their attention. "I wanted you to speak to Whitebeard about what would happen with these two fruits. Captain…" She tried to find the words of how much of an advantage a crew would have if they had these two devil fruits together in their possession. How easily it would be for them to take over an island, even in the dangerous New World. "These two fruits together are dangerous."
"All fruits are dangerous, Aiko-chi." Lucky said, she could hear him chewing.
"No. This is different." She answered. This was much different. The Marines didn't use them well enough, since they were only experimenting with them. But, if two pirates on the same crew ate them, they'd become quite the tag team. Formidable even in the new World if they used their abilities properly.
"And?" She heard Yasopp's voice call out, "How did you two come by them?"
The machine with the ability to use both fruits flashed into her mind. The name Vegapunk over it. She was beyond worried, worried that the Marines would have more of these machines. Worried that they'd do something horrible with them.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about…"
Marco flew a bit a ways from the ship he had seen in the distance, he had found out a very important thing about the ship. That it was not a Marine ship, but in fact a pirate one. But, as he stared longer and longer at the Jolly Roger drawn proudly over the large sail, he was really beginning to question if it actually was a legitimate pirate crew or if it was just a few people playing some kind of game.
Instead of wiping them out, as his original plan, he turned around and went back to the ship where Aiko –now, fully dressed- stood waiting for him with a large grin on her face.
"I take it the talk with Akagami went well, yoi?" He asked, landing next to her.
"He said he'd talk with Whitebeard and tell him the story of the machine we found." She answered simply, grin still present on her face. "He was asking about you actually."
"Me?" Marco questioned, what could Akagami want with him? The Phoenix had always been rude to the one armed man.
"Said not to let you touch me." She said with a large smile.
He rolled his eyes, Aiko already used to the action. She loved that the Phoenix couldn't seem to control his facial expression when around her, it was nice, knowing that such a usually collected man lost his control in her presence. The blond commander responded exasperatedly, "Isn't he about a decade or so too late for that, yoi?"
"I tried to tell him." She said with a shrug, "He said he didn't wanna hear it."
Marco grinned, he could definitely imagine that idiot Yonko captain of hers saying something childish like that. He wondered if that childish nature of his was the reason Aiko loved him. Or, wait… did she still love him? He wanted to ask. So badly wanted to ask her, but he'd wait for a good time.
"And?" Aiko continued, "How were things on your end?"
"See for yourself, yoi." Marco motioned with his head towards the distance, where the overly large ship was now visible.
She looked out into the distance and once her eyes spotted the mark on the large sail, they widened considerably. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! WHAT IS THAT?!" She yelled out in complete mirth, making Marco give a slight grin.
There, on the ship's main sail was the poorly drawn Jolly Roger of a cat? A dog? He didn't know what it was, but above it, in messy handwriting were the words, 'Foxy Pirates.' Marco still thought it was some kind of joke though. I mean, why in Roger's name would that poorly drawn thing be their Jolly Roger? And who in the right minds would call themselves the Foxy Pirates?
"Looks like a joke to me, yoi." He muttered, only making the woman double over as she continued laughing without restraint. Marco bet that those pirates could hear her amused snickers all the way from their ship. "I was wondering if you've read about them recently, yoi."
"Hmm…?" She wiped a tear that had escaped from the corner of her eye, taking a few deep calming breaths before she answered him properly. "That looks like something a five year old would draw."
Marco scoffed. "I can guarantee you that I drew better than that at five."
"You're right. A three year old then." She easily agreed, staring out at the Jolly Roger painted over the sail. It was just… horrible. A total eyesore. "Why didn't you get rid of them?"
"They're probably just playing around." The Phoenix answered with a shrug, because there was no way that that was actually their Jolly Roger… right?
"Good point." She tried to get a closer look at the people on the ship. "Besides, I don't think I've ever heard of the Foxy Pirates."
"They're from Paradise, yoi. It's natural."
Usually, New World pirates cared nothing for the newbies in Paradise unless they were close to reaching the second half or were constantly standing out in the news. The two of them -who read the news and kept up with the current affairs of the world constantly- had never even heard of the Foxy Pirates, but they only knew one thing, if they really were pirates then they must have had a large crew, judging by the sheer size of the ship they were currently sailing. It was huge, looking only a little smaller than the Red Force, though of course it was nowhere near as fast. The Red Force despite being the smallest Yonko main ship made up for its tiny build in speed. It could sail half the new world in a day if Shanks' ever wanted it to.
"The mark is still bothering me." Aiko admitted as she continued to stare at it.
"What do you want me to do about it, yoi?"
"Let's destroy it."
"Hah?" Marco questioned, shifting his eyes to her without moving. "And what if they're just playing pretend?"
"With an actual black flag?" Aiko pointed out, lifting an eyebrow at the blond whose eyes shifted back to the large black flag -billowing proudly- at her words. Well, it's true that kids weren't stupid enough to play pretend with an actual black flag, nor could kids get their hands and man a ship that size, but Marco's mind refused to believe that any pirate crew could proudly display such a poorly made mark.
"Fine, Hon." He conceded. "But just the ship. I want to see if the crew has potential, yoi."
Aiko nodded and excitedly jumped up onto the railing, with an all too eager grin on her face. Marco watched her with his own grin of amusement. It's been a long time since he actually wrecked –or in this case, witnessed- a pirate ship that wasn't some rival Yonko's being destroyed. He suddenly thought it a bit unfair how the Marines went after all pirates indiscriminately, when, in no way were all pirate's –as one force- going after the Marines. Each crew, each captain were enemies, alliances were only made when convenient and they shattered in the same way. Yet, it was as if some marines or some crews didn't understand this, they were actually surprised whenever a pirate suddenly attacked another pirate. Especially if it was for a petty reason, like disturbing a nap or what Aiko was about to do now.
Marco just hoped these Foxy Pirates would actually have some sense, and not dock such a large ship in a place swarming with enemy crews. If they did then he hoped they wouldn't be too surprised at their greeting.
The large ship had finally gotten close and to Marco's disappointment, actually docked right next to their smaller one, the damn thing almost hitting Aiko, who still stood on the railing. She would have toppled right off had it not been for her arms that she flailed around wildly until she regained her footing. Tofu was completely overshadowed by the much larger ship, the ships wooden side practically in Aiko's face. She clicked her tongue; these pirates had no common courtesy, if they were going to bring in a ship this large, it needed to be somewhere on the far side of the port, not right smack in the middle where all the smaller ships currently were.
Marco watched with his ever listless gaze as Aiko tightened her gauntlets, before punching the shit out of the ships wooden side. The force of the punch moved the waves and completely destroyed not only the side of the ship, but split the entire thing in two. Chips of wood flew out all around, sudden yells of panic erupted and Marco could see numerous belongings and people falling into the ocean. He noticed that the people were all wearing some sort of mask which didn't really do much to disguise their identities, since the masks didn't really cover their eyes or the memorable parts of their faces.
"They don't look that tough, yoi." Marco muttered, offering a hand out to Aiko. One she immediately took as he pulled her down with ease. "What's with those masks their wearing, they some kind of travelling troupe?" He insulted, looking bored. He was hoping that they'd provide some kind of entertainment.
"YOUUUU!" Marco and Aiko turned to the docks at the sudden accusatory yell. They found a man with a weird nose donning a long purple jacket and orange pants. He was relatively short for a man, Aiko stood taller than him. Behind him was a huge gorilla like man even taller than Marco –which was saying something since the man was well over six feet tall- and a blue haired woman in an open pink jumpsuit.
"What's he want with you, yoi?" Marco asked monotonously as if the woman with him wasn't at fault for destroying the large ship along with that eyesore of a sail.
"Mmm… I don't know. Let's ask." Aiko said with a small innocent grin.
More of what was most likely the crew of that large ship were gathering on the docks to back up their Captain. The two pirates walked slowly towards the edge of the ship, Marco taking a seat on the rail with his legs dangling off the side of the ship in a way that tempted Aiko to push him. But, she'd never dare act on that temptation, instead she leaned her front down, elbows on the rail by Marco's side as the loud complaints of the pirates below them increased.
"What do you want, yoi?" Marco's voice boomed out, the hostility was clear in his tone.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT?!" The Captain –or who they assumed was the Captain- yelled out in frustration and disbelief. "OUR SHIP! YOU DESTROYED OUR SHIP!"
"Oi, oi." Came Marco's voice once again as he crossed his arms. His body practically radiated an aura of 'fuck off.' "I don't remember something like that, yoi."
"HAAAAH?!" They all yelled out at the same time. "DON'T LIE!"
Marco shrugged, the perfect picture of confidence even after being accused by more than a hundred men. He could see some of the locals gathering to watch the spectacle, well, then again, it wasn't everyday a pirate ship gets completely wrecked. The Phoenix tilted his head to Aiko and asked, "Do you remember something like that, Hon?"
"Nope." Aiko lied as she looked down at the many pirates and let out a dazzling grin that had the many men in the crew stopping. Strike. There were hearts in their eyes as they squealed like teenage girls, Aiko's observant eyes caught sight of the blue haired woman from their crew seething at the attention she was garnering. Seemed she was a bit self-centered, Aiko could work with that. She'd be able to have some fun, while they waited for the Log Pose to set. "As if a woman like me could destroy such a large ship, you've got the wrong people, don't you agree?"
Marco controlled the smirk of amusement threatening to break free.
"Yea, Captain!" Some random crew member yelled to the short man with the purple jacket. "She doesn't look dangerous!"
"Maybe we've got the wrong person!"
"Let's go ask around, there are a lot of pirates in the area!"
"Hah?!" The blue haired woman yelled at them, upset that they were taking the side of some random stranger. "Don't defend her!"
"WE'RE SORRY PORCHE-SAMA!" They all bowed deeply to the woman who smirked at the attention. "YOU'LL ALWAYS BE OUR NUMBER ONE!"
Aiko grinned a little at that. No wonder the woman was smug, she had an entire crew of men worshipping her. The short man placed his hands on his hips and said overdramatically, "I am Foxy! The Silver Fox!"
"YEA!" The large gorilla like man by his side yelled in a manner that was supposed to be intimidating.
"Heeeee's…" Porche suddenly began marching and some of the men in the crew went to back up her sudden dance. Were these guys some kind of dance troupe? What was up with the theatrics? "A RENOWNED PIRATE WORTH TWENTY FOUR MILLION BELI!"
The two New World Pirates did not look impressed.
"You think we could turn them into the Marines?" Aiko asked the commander beside her. Keeping her voice relatively low, so that they wouldn't hear. Though she doubted they'd be able to with all their fancy dancing and music just to announce their captain's name.
"As if they'd give us the bounty, yoi." Marco muttered, he really didn't want to deal with this joke of a crew. He had thought that they'd at least have some potential, seeing as how they were able to amass such a large crew, but it seems he overestimated them. All they had were numbers. "Let's just ignore the—"
"YOU TWO!" Foxy's voice interrupted their conversation. The two pirates once again turning to the ugly man. "WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING IN THIS PART OF THE GRAND LINE?!"
Aiko cringed slightly at the loudness of his voice, this guy could rival Shanks. Marco was the one that answered the guy's question, tone neutral and bored. "We're pirates, yoi."
"HAAAH?!" They all yelled out once again.
Aiko wasn't surprised that the Phoenix told them their true profession. The ones they were dealing with weren't some common locals after all, they were pirates, just like them. So, if they didn't recognize who they were and the symbols tattooed on their bodies -that they kept on display at all times- then they had much to learn about the world.
"Ah. While we're on the topic, yoi." Marco pointed a thumb at the woman beside him, telling them the whole truth. "She destroyed your ship."
"HAAAAAAAHHH?!" They cried out once again, seems that's all the crew knew how to say.
"Sorry." Aiko quickly apologized with another grin, clearly not at all repentant. But that grin of hers seemed to stop the hearts of the crew once again.
"IT'S OKAAAAYYY~~!" They yelled, reverting to some kind of chibi form.
"You guys will be stuck here for a while though…" Aiko said in the best innocent voice she could muster.
They all waved a hand aside in unison as if the fact that they were stranded was no big deal. "IT'S ALRRIIGGGHHTT~~ TOTALLY ALRIGHT~!"
"Thank you." The Red Hair Pirate said happily with another ultra-dazzling smile.
Strike.
"Oi, oi." Marco got her attention, the corners of his mouth were pulled down slightly in a small frown. "Don't go flirting with other men in front of me, yoi."
"As if anyone could top you, Phoenix." She answered easily.
"I still don't like seeing i—"
The Phoenix was once again interrupted by Foxy as he seemed to be the only male left in the crew with a brain. "Why did you destroy our ship?! What did we do?!"
The two pirates looked at him as if he were crazy. What did they do? Did they not see the eyesore they were sailing with? Besides, they were pirates, every pirate was an enemy unless otherwise agreed upon. They didn't need a reason to attack an enemy ship.
"Your Jolly Roger physically pained me." Aiko answered in complete seriousness.
"DAMN THAT STRAWHAT!" Foxy suddenly yelled out when he heard the reason.
Aiko's eyes widened at the sudden proclamation, calling out to the captain in barely restrained glee. "OI! Did you say, Strawhat?"
"Yea." Foxy said in a growl, though it looked as if he wasn't really talking to her anymore. The fox going deep into the box of his darkest memories. "He beat us and gave us back our ship with that Jolly Roger."
"What? Luffy did?" Aiko asked excitedly, eyes shining. "Is he strong? What did you think about him?"
"Are you friends of that Strawhat?" He bit out, eyes snapping up to the woman.
"What? You're not?"
"NOOO!"
Aiko frowned. It was rare for Luffy to not make friends with someone he met, but if Luffy beat these guys that meant he was getting stronger. It was just like him too, to give back something like a ship. She was really excited to see him again after all these years, Aiko had no doubt that he'd come see Shanks and the rest of them out in the New World soon. Though she secretly hoped that she'd get to meet him before finding Ace, just so she could talk about him to Shanks.
"Strawhat, is Ace's brother, yoi. You think he might know where Ace is?" Marco asked, mind running a mile a minute again.
"It's possible. Though Luffy's not the type to keep an eye on the news." Aiko answered with a fond smile.
"Hmm… Maybe we could pay a visit to Strawhat, yoi. If he's nearby." He watched Aiko's eyes light up in that happy way again at his suggestion and he gave her a grin in return. "Only if he's on an island along the way, yoi."
She nodded excitedly.
"You two!" Foxy called out to them, his nose in the air as he challenged. "You two are pirates right?!"
They didn't answer just stared down at him as he continued yelling, "Then I challenge you to a Davy Back Fight!"
